Guest Reviews
- Rosie (9/5): It was relaxing, peaceful and in a beautiful location. The lake was like a mirror. Emily was lovely. Will be back. - It was clean, comfortable and in a beautiful, peaceful setting. The host was very friendly and responsive. We arrived to a lovely cheese and dip platter with crackers. There was also a bottle of wine for us but we left it behind as we don’t drink. We were within a half hour’s drive to mount field national park. An extra toilet would have been very welcome.

The view was breathtaking, it was quiet, spacious and relaxing.
We used the kayaks for an hour even though it was a tad cold and wet, awesome fun! I baked bread and we chilled out on the back deck with our lovely little cheese platter and wine that was given to us on arrival. We had a wombat waltzing around the back as well as a few wallabies and kangaroos joining in on the fun.
Can't wait to come back. That we didnt book a longer holiday here.

- Tessa (10/5): A lovely house in a very quiet location with beautiful lake views - Lovely modern house overlooking Meadowbank Lake. A very peaceful and comfortable place to stay, with beautiful views. The lake edge was a short easy walk away and there were sit-on-top kayaks with lifejackets available for guest use - great for watching wallabies along the banks of the lake. A full kitchen, good shower, and even some treats left for our arrival. We wished we could have stayed longer.

Fantastic views and a Great Lake to swim and kayak on. My kids loved the game consoles that they could play in the evening.
Fantastic value for money and a brilliant host! Nothing really. Only thing I can think of is a lack of cooking knives in the kitchen. Only two small ones which are not as easy to use for meal prepping. And no peeler.
- Ackerman (9/5): Superb - The view and being away from everything For us being older, the decking outside does not have a proper step.
- Munro (9/5): Superb - Peacefull, well organised, snacks, wine and coffee a nice touch. Wifi a bit average but not a problem.

- Jahn (10/5): A Magic Stay - We couldn't really believe what we got for the money we paid for this place, beautiful spot right on the lake with gorgeous views of the water and hills behind it.
Awesome spacious house with a kitchen stocked with all the herbs, spices, and sauces you could need.
Kayaks down at the waters edge made for a very relaxing late arvo after a day of hiking.
Couldn't recommend this place more, will be back on our next trip to tassie for an even longer stay in this magic spot.

- Marrinan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Steve (10/5): Exceptional - Everything, stunning place Main bedroom, TV did not work
- Chris (9/5): Superb place to get away from it all! - Spacious. Wonderful outlook. Comfortable. Nothing. I went for the space, quietness and isolation.
- Melinda (10/5): Beautiful stay on the river - The remoteness and being right on the river. Modern property. Able to use kayaks. Game console. Pantry items. Bush walking That is was 20 min from a supermarket. We thought there would be one along the way but not the way we came. We should’ve prepared a bit better but headed just to Ouse once we were there
- La (10/5): Exceptional - Everything, the house was perfect, everything we needed, the view was unbelievable and the serenity ❤️ Nothing
- Pei (10/5): should have booked for more nights! - The view of this place is beyond my imagination. It's priceless! The property got everything you need. It is a little bit of drive off the sealed road, but Google map navigation perfectly gets the job done with host's detailed instruction which was a bit daunting after the booking. But trust me, it is super easy to find this place.
- Simon (9/5): Superb -
- Holly (10/5): Exceptional -
- Carolin (8/5): Nice, clean and remote - The place is very spacious and clean. The cheese board and wine are a lovely gesture from the host. There’s any kind of equipment you might want to use. The location is very remote, so far away from any sights.
- Melissa (10/5): Exceptional - Location was amazing
- Megan (10/5): Heavenly. - Amazing property, meticulously taken care of. The views were equally amazing. Right on the lake. Nothing to complain about at all.
- John (10/5): Wonderful cottage in an amazing location - Location was superb with great swimming in the lake just at bottom of the garden .
A very generous welcoming cheese platter and local white wine An onsite compendium would’ve been helpful

- Darryl (10/5): Exceptional -

Close to the river, clean and very comfortable, the house offers more than we expected, the host is very friendly and helpful.
- Rosalind (10/5): If you want a quiet getaway with a view, this is the spot for you. - The view overlooking the lake was beautiful and the nightly visitors were so cute.
The house was clean and modern and the kitchen had everything you would need for cooking meals (bring food though, it's a fair drive to get groceries).
The game consoles for kids is a great idea if the weather is no good.
Emily is a caring, excellent host, and we had a trouble free, relaxing end to our Tassie trip. Having to leave.
- Dave (10/5): What did Darrell say ah the serenity - Nice and quite and easy access to the lake
- Alena (9/5): Superb - Very nice house, great view of the lake, had all the amenities we needed. A bit far from the main road in Ellendale, no railing around the verandah, one of the beds wasn't super-comfortable.
- Adrian (10/5): Exceptional - Superb location. Very quiet and brilliant views. Great to kayak on the river. The house was fantastic, super comfortable and spacious.
- Kirsti (10/5): Exceptional - Absolutely fabulous. The hosts were exceptional adding lots of little extras to make our stay comfy and the scenery was like a calendar page, so beautiful. We will definitely stay here again.
- Michelle (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kylie (10/5): Loved it - Loved the remote location and silence. You do need to plan ahead so that you have the food you need. Having said that, the home had great supplies - laundry liquid included :) Nothing really. Just plan ahead for food
- Gusmary (10/5): Exceptional - Great view, access to the lake , access to BBQ, the host was very helpful and left complimentary wine and cheeses. I would definitely stay there again. Perhaps not the most comfortable bed but this might just be a personal opinion as the rest of the family didn't complain about their sleep.
The BBQ needed a bit of a clean. The previous person perhaps didn't clean it.
Although, to be honest, none of that mattered because the experience of being there in such a magical place outweighs those minor details.
- Nikki (8/5): Very good -
- Rita (10/5): Very relaxing - Everything the view was amazing There was a smell in the bathroom
- Holly (10/5): Loved it, the location and amenities and little extras were great. - Absolutely loved the location, the property was lovely and clean, well designed with loads of amenities, loved the pontoon, view was amazing, we loved it so much we re-booked for the summer. with our little ones they had lots of fun. there was no tea bags haha
- Amanda (9/5): Quiet and relaxing in comfort and style. - Very lovely spot right on the lake, so tranquil and enjoyable. Bed was very comfortable, House was well equipped and very clean.
- Alex (10/5): Totally amazing lakehouse - First impression... absolutely beautiful
Last impression... everything about our stay at the lakehouse was amazing...
The host - Emily, was bountiful with her information pack regarding the property....
Her email on things to see and do and general knowledge of the area are next level...
She really looked after us, we noticed every little detail and we were not disappointed for one second...
Thank you Emily, this info had us out there looking for kookaburras, wombats, and echidnas... we were not disappointed in our search...
We were packing up to leave, and my partner of 12 years looked at me with tears in her eyes and said, "You've booked some really dodgy places over the years and some really great ones... but you've outdone yourself with this one... this is the best place you've booked ever...
We will be back... That 2 days flew by, way too fast...
- Anonymous (10/5): Incredible - Incredible property, most amazing views and Emily was so helpful. The instructions to get to the property were a bit daunting to read but very easy to follow and we saw lots of sheep! It was a bit too windy for us to take the kayaks out but was lovely to sit by the water and take in the fresh air.
Great facilities inside, nice hot shower and comfortable beds
