- Ironman (3/5): Great Spot, Grim Stay Charayan Needs a Makeover - Charayan Backpackers enjoys a commendable location in the heart of Ahmedabad, granting it a strategic advantage in a city where hostel options are strikingly limited — only two at the time of writing. In that context, this property does hold a slight upper hand over its counterpart. However, the overall experience leaves much to be desired. First and foremost, basic hygiene and maintenance standards are sorely lacking. The toilet facilities demand immediate and consistent cleaning. The bed linens had evidently not been changed prior to my arrival — an unacceptable oversight in any hospitality setting. Additionally, the interior ambiance is uninspired and in dire need of aesthetic and functional improvement. One peculiar policy that further detracts from the guest experience is the provision of lockers only upon receipt of a security deposit. This is not just inconvenient, but also highly unusual for a backpacker accommodation model where security and accessibility should be baseline offerings, not conditional privileges. While I did end up extending my stay — primarily due to the favorable location — I must express significant disappointment with the non-air-conditioned dormitory. The comfort level was insufficient, and this facility falls short of expectations, especially in the heat of Ahmedabad. I intend to evaluate the AC dormitories separately, and sincerely hope for a better experience there. In summary, Charayan Backpackers has potential, but it requires serious attention to cleanliness, guest comfort, and overall service ethos. Until then, it remains a budget option that compromises too heavily on quality.

- Alfonso (8/5): Nice place! - The dorms AC are clean and really fresh! The location is great! The staff is nice! The toilets arent clean but for 2-4 usd is reasonable
- Charles (10/5): The hotel is only 5 minutes walk to Siddi Sayyed Mosque - Vicram the receptionist was excellent and very patient. He goes out of his way to help the guests. One minute after checkout I desperately needed a shower after a long walk and he gave me a free extra 20 minutes to shower, thanks Vicram, I enjoyed staying at the hotel

- Mukul (1/5): Convenient Location but Poor Hygiene and Service - I appreciated the location as it was conveniently close to most tourist spots, including the nearby market. The staff was unprofessional and poorly behaved. The bed was not clean, and both the toilets and bathing area were extremely dirty. Even the bedsheets were unhygienic. Overall, it was a very disappointing experience.
