- Aislinn (10/5): - Sophia& Ned went above and beyond to make our family feel welcome Beautiful property...stunning location.
Booking was due to a family funeral and although deeply distraught & grief stricken, cottage felt homely, clean , bright and gave off a home from frome feel & lovely holiday vibe. Sophia provided scones and fresh feee range eggs& milk for the all important cup of tea upon arrival,
Sophia & Ned's kindness and warmth has led to family planning future trip back under less sad circumstances. When planning a stay im the Garden of Ireland look no further & stay with these incredibly hospitable people who will embue your stay with Céad Míle Fáilte. Go raibh mile agaibh Ais agus Trao xxx
- Edit (8/5): - Pleasant, homely accommodation. Well equipped. Kind host There is none.

- Mossie (10/5): Excellent...book! - I cannot put in to words how great the owners here are. I booked here for my parents to stay as it is close to wicklow hospice.my uncle was unfortunately in hospice and this location was literally a few yards away so was so easy for them to come and go etc.
The owners could not have been nicer offering extra beds towels etc if any other family members wished to stay.
The also greated my parents wt fresh scones and eggs and bits in the house to make tea. Well appreciated after a long day in the hospice.
The owner went out of her way to help them and made a hard time that little bit easier.
The cottage itself is so cozy with plenty of everything you need down to reading lights and hot water bottles.
Each room has a bathroom with shower in both so very handy to get ready etc.
Everything available in the apartment and includeds all leaflets of places to go and see as well as food menus etc but the cottage itself is full equipped with everything you will need.
We will definitely book again under better circumstances but would 100% recommend. No faults at all.
- GILLES (8/5): Nous avons eu un super temps soleil pendant deux jours. Nous avons bien dormi sans bruit. - Vue sur mer et l’accueil Vue sur un hangars
- Petra (10/5): -
- Deirbhle (10/5): - Cozy house, very clean, had a comfortable stay Shower has to be very quick as hot water doesn't last long, but other than that it was fantastic
- Shane (10/5): -
- Matthew (10/5): Excellent and would highly recommend! - The location was excellent and Sophia attended to our every needs. The cottage had everything needed. The beds mattress was uncomfortable but understandable that everyone likes different firmness.
- Christine (9/5): Enjoyed our stay will hopefully return. - Quiet cottage. Very well equipped. Hosts were helpful. Suited us for a family weekend break. Definitely need a car to get around. Which we had.
- Helen (9/5): - The place was easy to find - great location. The host was very welcoming and gave me good information to suit my needs. The cottage was clean, comfortable and well equipped. It was great seeing the stars at night and the early morning sun over the sea. There is plenty of parking which is a bonus. Gorgeous beaches locally. I had not realised that there was not an immediate path to the sea there but its not so far to go to find one.
- Lois (9/5): - Many amenities, helpful staff, great location
- Shawn (10/5): The host was helpful, and the cottage was cozy, well-appointed and quiet -
- Frauke (10/5): -
- Wolstenholme (10/5): -
- Susan (8/5): - Weather made it impossible to enjoy anything. It would have been a totally different experience if there had been any sun!
- Christine (9/5): Well-equipped cottage with beautiful scenery - We stayed as a family for two nights and had a very pleasant experience. The cottage was clean, comfortable, and well equipped. Although the sunrise was hidden by clouds, we enjoyed the lovely views once the weather cleared. The location is peaceful and convenient for exploring Wicklow. Sophia was very welcoming and helpful. While we have no plans to return for personal reasons, we would gladly consider it in the future.
- Laura (9/5): -
- Brenda (9/5): - Host has everything you could possibly need . A great host
- Christian (10/5): Ruhe, Strand, Erholung - Schöne Deko, umfangreiche Küchenausstattung, schöner kleiner Garten. Gute Lage. Nah zum Sandstrand (20 Minuten zu Fuß)
Wicklow ist zudem ein gutes Ausflugsziel, Top Anbindung an Dublin
- pelle (10/5): - Very friendly welcome, nice view, very clean and cosyhouse.
- Rebeca (7/5): - Las casas estan bien organizadas, cada una con un jardín privado. Cocina equipada. Instalaciones de lavandería compartida (gratuita). Zona común al aire libre con una pequeña barbacoa. Nada
- Byrne (10/5): Perfect holiday - The cottages were absolutely stunning! Sophia had left lovely fresh scones for us on arrival, which the kids loved! The cottage was so beautiful and in a lovely quiet location. There was everything we needed, even a washing machine and dryer on site, which is very handy. The girls loved being able to walk around the cottage, we had our own private garden space, and it is very safe for the kids to play, something they're not used to being from London. There are beaches either side to walk to, which we did every evening, just idyllic!! The showers were perfect, heating perfect. Just a perfect holiday for us! Also Sophia was great with communication, even before staying, she would reply to any queries so quickly! Thank you! We loved everything!!
- Eileen (10/5): Exceptional - Lovely cottage and fresh scones left for us on arrival.great location, close to wicklow and close to beaches Nothing i didn't like
- Tim (10/5): Great Stay in Wicklow! - The location was great for our family as we were looking for some solitude with an ability to enjoy Wicklow, Greystones and Dublin. The cottage had great space, was well appointed and had very comfortable beds. Nothing to dislike... it was a great property, fantastic hosts and a good overall experience.
- Paul (10/5): Exceptional -
- Quan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Rebecca (10/5): Exceptional -
- Wendy (9/5): Superb -
- Meredith (10/5): Very comfortable stay south of Wicklow - The cottage was very comfortable, it reflects the care that Sophia & Ned have taken to create a great holiday rental.
Great little enclosed yard would be ideal for small children .
The laundry room was also handy.
- Mary (5/5): Not what it says on the tin - Location excellent Garden very disappointing pots full of weeds from many yrs. View partially blocked by shed. We were 2 senior women asked for 2 rooms. When booking 1 room had double bed and other suggested twin beds. 2nd room had a bunk bed which was very uncomfortable.. it caused a bit of friction between us for our holiday.
- David (10/5): exactly as adertised, couldnt recommend it higher. - Lovely scones and eggs and milk on arrival, tea and cofee all in, and everything you needed in the cottage. nothing, exactly as adertised, and more.
- Vanessa (8/5): Beautiful - Sophia and Ned a wonderful couple. Circumstances changed before we left for trip and Sophia was absolutely brilliant , always around and checking in on us xxx
- Richard (10/5): Idyllic setting on the Irish coast near the Wicklow mountains - Great views, well-equipped property, lovely location. Free eggs from chicken coop - doesn't get more local than 2m from the cottage!
- Katarzyna (10/5): Excellent accommodation. - Place was beautiful, close to the beach, and a few minutes away from town. Owner Sophia was super nice. The cottage was perfectly clean. We had everything we needed for cooking our meals. The beds were comfortable. We couldn't ask for more. There was nothing that we didn't like
- Julie (9/5): Superb - A lovely warm welcome from Sophia, who had thought of everything.. delicious complementary scones and lovely fresh eggs from Sophias hens too.
The location was great and a short walk to 2 beaches.
We enjoyed the suggested visitor attractions too..
- Susan (9/5): Superb - The home baked scones on arrival was a great touch. Also the eggs that came from their chickens were yummy. Very nice place and lovely view of fields and sea in the distance
- Valorie (10/5): Exceptional - Breakfast is not an option provided by the property as the cottage is self contained.
We were pleasantly surprised to find delicious scones, jam and a half dozen fresh farm eggs waiting for us on the table and fresh milk in the good sized fridge.
The property owners/managers are wonderful, friendly people. Thank you for a wonderful and comfortable cottage for our holiday.
- Anne (9/5): Superb - Our cottage was so comfy and clean, just what we wanted, everything was perfect
- Yasmin (10/5): Exceptional - Amazing spot to get away and relax :)
- Kate (10/5): Exceptional -
- Matthew (9/5): Very enjoyable stay in a great location with great hosts. - Great location, very family friendly and owners were very communicative, friendly and pleasant to interact with.
- Michael (10/5): Superb accommodation in an amazing location - Beautiful excellent value holiday home in amazing location near Blainroe Golf Course & Magheramore beach & about 6km from Wicklow town. Wicklow Golf Course and the fabulous Brittas Bay beaches are very close.
We stayed in cottage no 4 and really enjoyed our stay.
Loads of free parking and lovely nice outside seating area with tables and chairs well screened from the wind but we were there in cold early February so unfortunately we didn't get the opportunity to sit outside and enjoy the sea view with a nice glass of wine. Hopefully we'll be back again in warmer weather.
Really spacious living room with two very good sized bedrooms. Excellent electric heating system and lovely and very effective electric fireplace.
Comfortable beds and ample wardrobe storage for clothes.
Lots of extra comfy blankets are provided as well as towels and proper quality toiletries.
Good sized bathroom with loads of hot water and the electric shower is superb. Really nice and very helpful hosts with great communication from the moment we booked. Lovely touch that we were welcomed with their complementary own farm eggs, fresh scones, milk, tea etc and a personalised chalkboard welcome sign.
Everything that could possibly be needed in the kitchen is provided.
Overall we had a lovely stay and would highly recommend this accommodation!
- John (10/5): Exceptional -
- Agnes (10/5): Well done - The host was very welcoming and the facilities provided were excellent. I would recommend the place to other people.
- Samuel (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sharon (10/5): Exceptional - Ned and Sophia were very pleasant
- Amy (10/5): Exceptional -
- Garry (10/5): Garry & Brigid. - Perfect loction. A peaceful and beautiful site. Great sea view. Wonderful hosts and a lovely cottage with everything you could possibly need. A home from home. A lovely touch with milk, scones and even fresh eggs from Sophia's and Neds own hens.
Highly recommended for a peaceful vacation weather be weeks or a couple of days, we will definitely be going back and recommending to others.
- Charlotte (9/5): Cozy cottage in stunning surroundings - We had a great stay at Sophia’s lovely spot. We were even spoiled with scones and eggs fresh from her chickens. The cottage was spacious and suited a big family like ours with four kids. It had everything we needed and was nice and clean. The surroundings were beautiful and the cottage even had a view to the sea. We hope to return there someday. Absolutely nothing to complain about.
- Malcolm (7/5): Exactly what we needed for our stay - Location Better beds
- Rachel (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful property very private and clean Everything was perfect
- Ashlee (10/5): Best place I have ever stayed!! Wonderful Salt of the earth people - This is hands down the best place I have ever stayed! The care and attention taken by the owners to make sure they have left no stone unturned is second to none.
The cottage we stayed in genuinely felt like staying in someone’s house when they’re not there, you get the benefit of having the owners next door when you need anything and you also have your own privacy so it is the best of both worlds.
Attention to detail:
Normally when you stay in a place like this that is listed as self catering you expect to have to buy or bring most consumable items yourself but not here, Sofhia, the host, had left us scones and jam as a welcoming gift, the fridge was stocked with milk, coffee and ketchup and there was a really sweet blackboard with our names written on it welcoming us. The cupboard was full of spices, olive oil, salt and pepper etc. and both bathrooms had shampoo and shower gel. Small things like this make the world of difference for us when choosing a place to stay. Spending €25-30 on shampoos, toilet rolls and other small items that you inevitably have to leave behind is one of the most frustrating things about travelling but here we didn’t have that issue.
We had issues starting the BBQ on our first night because we couldn’t find coal so we tried to cook using wood but we were struggling to get it to light, Ned, one of our hosts went above and beyond cleaning up another BBQ for us to use and he even spent some time with us and chatted to us for a little while which was very nice.
Sofhia also left a handmade brochure for us that gave a very detailed overview of every possible attraction, pub, restaurant, golf club, supermarket etc. in the local area. This was particularly useful as it gave lots of extra small details like which side of the train to sit on for the best views, this kind of local insight is not something you can find easily on google so this was also a very nice touch. Nothing, our hosts were wonderful!
- Catherine (10/5): Perfect for a couple or a family with everything you need supplied. - We loved the location, the fresh eggs for breakfast! It was comfortable & clean with a yard to relax in private. Nothing
- James (9/5): Superb -
- Eric (10/5): Exceptional - The location was beautiful. I can't think of anything.
- Vicki (9/5): Superb -
- Marie (10/5): Exceptional - Location
- Rachael (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ellen (10/5): Excellent accommodation and good location. - We arrived slightly early at the accommodation, but Sophia the owner was happy to give us the keys, There was a welcome pack of milk, tea, eggs and fresh scones which made a lovely surprise. The property was spacious and very clean. The views over the field towards the sea was lovely. We had a very enjoyable stay at the cottage and would highly recommend it.
- Sharon (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful clean & cosy cottage. Sophia & Ned were lovely and so welcoming. We really enjoyed the scones on arrival.
- Scorer (10/5): Exceptional - Cosy and had everything we needed. Hosts couldn't have been more helpful.
- David (10/5): Perfect Hidden Gem. Definitely Recommend - The place we stayed was perfect, it had everything we needed and more. There were lovely little extras left by the owners. The location is fantastic, approx 5 minutes from wicklow town with lovely bars and restaurants. Sparrows Nest is amazing. We stayed for golf and we were all but 2 minutes away from two World class golf courses, Blainroe and Wicklow Golf Club with stunning views and scenery and both golf clubs were in immaculate condition. We were beyond happy and would definitely return again. Best of luck with future business. Nothing, it was perfect
- Sophie (8/5): Very nice little place, perfect for exploring. - Very comfortable and beautiful surroundings Lack of certain things would have made it easier, such as scissors, shampoo plus conditioner
- Caitlín (10/5): Cosy clean cottage by the beach - So clean and cozy. Brilliant location, absolutely need a car to get anywhere but it is aa beautiful area. Magheramore beach literally a 2minute drive. The beach was spectacular. Very spacious and clean accommodation. Nice small garden the front. Laundry facilities. The baby loved seeing the chickens on site. The boys would have loved to play basketball in the adjoining site, but this wasn't on premises. Such friendly and accommodating hosts. Left us butter and jam and scones with milk and tea coffee. Great to have the staples in kitchen already. Wonderful base to explore the area. Can't recommend it enough! We cant wait to come back with our two girls also! Everything was wonderful. The bed in the main room a bit hard, but thats very personal preference and with all the beds to choose from, you can easily play Goldilocks 🤣 I was goldilocks with my three bear sons with me! Highly recommend Sophia's place!
- Autumn (10/5): Beautiful cottage in the country - The cottage was beautiful, Sophia and Ned had thought of everything to make anyone’s stay perfect (: Everything was great!
- David (10/5): Exceptional - We had a lovely stay. Our host Sophia was really helpful and friendly (we had lovely scones waiting for us on arrival).
The interior of cottage was nicer than the photos on the booking website. Also, the outside of the cottage is a bit deceptive in that it looks quite plain. But inside is really nice. A nice new kitchen had only recently been installed and the the cottage generally was very comfortable.
The wonderful Maghermore beach is very close by and made the location ideal. There is a lovely cliff walk nearby as well which Sophia told us about. Takes you from the golf club to Wicklow lighthouse. Only gripe was that the sleeping arrangements were not clear on the Booking.com website. The second bedroom only had one bunk bed - with a double on the bottom and single on top. Website indicated a double bed and a bunk bed. Sophia explained that she had been trying insuccessfully to get Booking.com to change this.
- Debbie (10/5): Really enjoyed the cottage and the area. - Beautiful location
Great property which had everything we needed. We will definitely return.
- Anthony (10/5): Exceptional - We were self catering so cooked our own meals, the kitchen facilities were excellent we had scones and jam left for us on arrival along with the basics i.e. tea coffee milk which was delicious. There was also toiletries shampoo etc in the shower and there was hot water bottles in the bedrooms in case of cold weather.
The host left various leaflets of things to do in and around the area nearest beach, shops etc along with menus for the takeaway food that deliver to the cottage.
We really enjoyed our stay and would recommend these cottages.
- Liang (9/5): Superb - The rooms are nice and clean. Sophia is very helpful in helping us settle in the room. There are large outdoor areas for the children to play. Not much. We have two families total 4 adults and 2 children. When everyone takes shower the hot water supply could ran a bit short for the last one or two persons.
- Christopher (10/5): A home from home in a peaceful and quiet location. Friendly & kind hosts. - Quiet & peaceful location. The property has everything one needs. Enjoyed receiving fresh eggs and on arrival the host left us some hot cross buns, butter and milk. One of our party uses a wheelchair and it was easy to move around the property. Found the arms on the disabled shower chair quite low. The disabled toilet has one vertical and one horizontal handrail, it would have been easier if there had been two horizontal hand rails in addition to the vertical one. To remedy this one could have a chair surround available for those who need a bit of extra help. If at some stage you replace the bed in the disabled room, it would be a good idea to get one that is slightly higher.
Having said the above, I really APPRECIATED (thank you) the efforts made to accommodate a disabled person and recognise many would not have any issues with the existing setup.
- Charmaine (10/5): A beautiful, peaceful place - This delightful 2 bedroom cottage was perfect for our group of 3 friends. It had a brand new kitchen fitted with everything we could need. The laundry and the board games were a lovely extra. Sophia and Ned are friendly, helpful hosts. We even had some freshly laid eggs from their chickens! A really lovely stay in a beautiful area. Nothing
- Majella (10/5): Genuine welcome, with lots of extra thoughtful touches - Loved the genuine warm welcome and the many little touches that showed this! Such as :A welcome of scones , fresh eggs from Sophia's happy hens, milk and butter in the fridge, a little chalk board sign with a personalised welcome to our family. Very comfortable and well appointed cottage with lots of little comforts too, like throws to cozy up in on the couches, extra blankets and hot water bottles available for use also. A lovely little garden area outside that we could sit out in so we had our own little private space as well as the large shared outdoor area.
A real delight was watching Sophia lovingly feed her hens the first evening we arrived. Their hen run was just over the fence from our cottage, and it was lovely to see them contentedly clucking around their own enclosed space.
150% recommend, would love to go back again🥰💎💜 The bedroom door squeaked but nothing some oil wont fix!
- Stefan (10/5): A precious spot a few km outside of Wicklow town. - Fantastic spot, very clean and spacious, the cottage was outstanding and more than able to accomodate a family of 5.
The warm and personal welcome by Sophia was the icing on the cake, thank you very much for that, also for your flexibility on teh late arrival.
We very much enjoyed our stay. n/a
- Gemma (8/5): Very good -
- Rhonda (7/5): Fair. Affordable accommodation in Wicklow. - Homely. Very welcoming, scones milk chocolate eggs. Plenty of towels. Good location. Kitchen had everything you need plus laundry facilities. Car parking easy. Well heated. Iron hairdryer all available. It's fair for the money. What I expected. WiFi good. We stayed in No. 1 cottage. No view of sunrise and lack of privacy. People continually walking past windows or cars parked outside windows. . Cobwebs on lamps and windowsills but bathrooms and kitchen very clean.Lacks dvd player. Decor a bit dated. Door into ensuite bathroom wouldn't close fully so lacked privacy.
- Thomas (10/5): Perfect - We stayed in cottage No.2, was so comfie, clean and the views were fabulous. Great location, but our hosts were so kind and welcoming . It felt like a home away from home we loved it!!! Nothing!! We had no complaints about our stay.
- Thys (9/5): We enjoyed it very much. The house was clean and a good size. Hosts were welcoming and friendly. - Ideal location to explore Wicklow area. Accommodation was clean and well maintained.
Hosts were friendly and helpful. The laundry room was a bonus - wonderful to be able to wash and dry dirty clothes. The bed in main room is smaller than what we have at home, so it is always an adjustment.
- Joanne (8/5): A very pleasant stay that suited all our requirements. Hosts were very accommodating - A welcome pack
Clean and tidy
Easy to find and able to park right outside property
- James (8/5): Highly recommended, amazing stay. -
- Tatiana (10/5): We had a great time. It had everything we needed and Sophia was lovely ! - The details and attention for our son’s birthday !!
The place was very clean and cosy. Nothing. It had everything we needed.
- Lawrence (8/5): Very good -
- Padraig (10/5): Exceptional -
- Stevie78 (8/5): Pleasant quiet rural area but close to town - Loved the friendly greeting on arrival. Plenty of hot water. Lovely eggs left out for breakfast. Living area very comfortable. Mattress quite comfortable. Loved the peace and quiet and great view of the sunrise. Electric heating in rooms could do with proper plumbed heating. Very dark outside need a better light system as had to use our torches on phone.
- Rachel (10/5): Great, positive experience. Thank you - The hosts are very friendly ,warm and welcoming. There was lovely Christmas pudding, Almond treats, fresh glass bottled milk , tea ,coffee and essentials that were waiting for us. My children especially loved the hot chocolate. A lovely touch was the fluffy hot water bottles. Cottage was very warm and clean. Loved our stay and will definitely book again. Nothing.
