- Jeremy (10/5): Everything perfect! -
- julien (10/5): -
- Michele (10/5): Paradise in Tetebatu - Perfect place! Everything is taken care of, even the tiniest details. The hosts are very kind and knowledgeable and breakfast was simple but tasty. The view on Rinjani in the morning from the cabin are just amazing.
- marie (10/5): - Such a wonderful place ! If you go to tetebatu, you should book here. Lovely family, you will discover the real lombok and beautiful places. Thank you so much, we had a very good time here. Lot of memories and fun with the family.
- Luke (10/5): Great stuff, shoutout to the team - Great spot up in the mountains. Staff are lovely and great English spoken by Dave. Very knowledgeable on surrounding areas and culture.
Rooms are awesome with plenty of different spots to hang about and do very little as we wanted. I would strongly recommend renting a motorbike if you plan to stay for a few nights as it is a prime location close to many tourist attractions if you are willing to ride 15-20 minutes with some confidence on less-sealed roads
- Sam (10/5): -
- Elvira (10/5): We loved it !! - We really loved our stay here. We did a day tour to several places with Dave and Son, and they are such amazing people! We truly appreciated it and wish them all the best.
You will not regret coming here if you are hesitating.
- Martina (9/5): It is definitely worthy to stay here for a while and support the family. - I loved the view of the mountain, ot is spectacular with the upper balcony.
David is very friendly host and guide.
Food made by David was delicious (curry yammy). It was a bit tricky to find it by bike, google takes you in all crazy little roads between houses. But nothing to worry about.
- Lyndalou (10/5): Beautiful Homestay - Lovely place! 🩵🐱😸😺⛰️
You can read about my review on Google,
https://goo.gl/maps/6qf1VBEY8cJWjZWT7?g_st=ac With all due respect, it's a Muslim area so the prayers go on 5 times a day, the 1st being at 4AM. I'd recommend an extra pair of earplugs to go with the ;headsets if you're a light sleeper.
- Michael (10/5): Perfect incredible shout out my friend David the host and his amazing family - Everything

- Sabrina (9/5): Struttura Supenda - Location stupenda,
tutto molto bello e super pulito.
Personale super gentile e disponibile, colazione ottima. niente
- Samuele (10/5): - A great place to explore the authentic side of Lombok.
The tour with Dave and James is one of the most beautiful experiences that we have done on our vacation.
- Lauritz (10/5): -
- Swart (9/5): -
- Larissa (9/5): Schöner Aufenthalt - Sehr nette Besitzerin, gutes Essen, leckeres Frühstück und schöner Bungalow. Gute Organisation bei der Buchung von Touren. Rollenverleih. Man fühlt sich sehr wohl. Keine Schalldämmung, man hört jedes Geräusch von draußen.
- Emilie (10/5): - We had three magical nights at a bungalow just outside Tetebatu, and it was truly unforgettable. With Dave as our guide, we spent a full day walking through the rice fields, meeting locals from the community, exploring stunning waterfalls, and even searching for the small black monkeys in the monkey forest – such a special adventure!
The following day we booked a half-day tour and visited a local bamboo workshop, pottery makers, and the vibrant local market. Every activity felt authentic and meaningful. Dave and his family create such a warm, personal experience that makes you feel right at home. The food cooked by his aunt was absolutely delicious – the tempeh satay is a must-try! Be careful when ordering though, because portions are generous and you’ll never finish it all.
The rooms are simple and back-to-basic, but with everything you could possibly need. You’re surrounded by nature, so expect the sounds of animals and also the nearby mosques – but we saw this as part of the cultural experience.
If I could give more than 5 stars, I absolutely would. We wish Dave and his family all the best in the world and are grateful for such an authentic and memorable stay. Nothing :)
- Blai (10/5): - Nos encantó y voveriamos a alojarnos.
- Catherine (9/5): Despite the rain, we had a great stay - Friendly welcome
Comfortable rooms
Good breakfast Nothing
- Wouter (9/5): We had a wonderful stay with Dave as our private and local tourguide. - Great location and very friendly and helpful staff. Can be a bit noisy at night because of the Mosques
- Sam (10/5): Fantastic Homestay with so much to do. - The family who own the Homestay are extremely welcoming and make you feel at home, plus their meals are sensational. Dave their nephew is a fantastic guide who really teaches you all about their culture, is happy to show you around their village and the wider community (he also took us to a local wedding which was a great experience), including showing you natural beauty of the area. You will hear the mosques calling to prayer quite close early in the morning and in the evening but this is what you can expect anywhere in Lombok.
- Jan (7/5): Good - Great place to soak in the local culture of the rural part of Lombok. Beautiful view form the cozy double decked cottage. Very friendly staff with Dave being an excellent guide around the vicinity. Fresh fruit and very good meals provided by the host at super low price. Nice pool. Warm water shower. Good bed. Solid wifi. The area is a very traditional and religious and the place is surrounded by 4 mosques. Though ear protection is provided by the accomodation, it may not be enough if you need to sleep a lot.
- Carla (10/5): Exceptional -
- Frenk (10/5): Go to RatuRinjani - We had an amazing time here and absolutely recommend staying here! Raturinjani is a great homestay, the family is very welcoming and embraces you from the moment you arrive. Staying here gives you a real view of how people live in more remote locations of Lombok. Please be aware that the homestay is not in Tetebatu but 15 min away, renting a scooter is therefore recommended or let you drive aroud by a tourguide in case you don't feel comfortable driving yourself. The homestay provides all services as food, laundry, taxi and whatever suits your needs.
We stayed 4 nights at Raturinjani, during this time we did many activities with Dave as our tourguide, who is speaking English very well. The activities we did were a nature tour including waterfalls, finding the black monkeys in the monkey forest, a culture tour including ricefield farming visits, bamboo crafting, cloth weaving, visiting the local market, a cooking class and making our own coffee and coconut oil. Dave climbed 10 meters up in a coconut tree to cut the coconuts from the tree! .
The breakfast is nice, and you can choose between egg and toast or a pancake. In both options fruit and lombok coffee or tea is provided.
For dinner there are plenty of options and all the dishes were very nice. There is a fridge with plenty of sodas and water if you would like a drink.
After traveling 3 weeks through Indonesia, Raturinjani was the perfect place to spend our last days. Looking back at it, it is an experience I will never forget, and we will do it again without a doubt. There was one thing we were not prepared for, what was the call to prayer of the nearby mosque very early (5 am) and late (10 pm). Even with earplugs it gave us less sleep than we typically have.
- Daisy (10/5): Couldn’t recommend enough, has been the highlight of our trip - Our stay at Raturinjani was truly one of the highlights of our travels. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with such warmth and kindness by the entire family. They were always there to offer guidance and we felt completely at home.
The complimentary breakfast was delicious, and having the option to enjoy lunch and dinner on-site was incredibly convenient. They also offer extras such as moped rentals, cooking classes, laundry service, and taxi arrangements.
We both felt so comfortable and cared for throughout our stay, and we sincerely hope to return in the near future.
We spent our days exploring the nearby waterfalls and rice fields. The area is untouched by tourism, giving you a truly authentic experience.
Dave thank you so much for everything, you were an amazing host and friend.
All the best,
Daisy and Elly
- Orla (10/5): Exceptional - So beautiful and peaceful in nature !! Food was lovely the the family who run it are so welcoming and offer tours around the rice fields :)
- Nick (10/5): Wonderful family - The family who own/run this business are wonderful. They invited us to eat with us every night to break their fast during Ramadan and the food was amazing. Dave was a great tour guide and the cabins were comfortable and cosy, I loved the upstairs seating area.
- Reno (9/5): We got invited to their family celebrations - amazing hosts. The tours day offer really have an extremely personal touch!
great breakfast not the best wifi
the room is not 100% closed so you can have some friends in the room but they do provide a klamboe
- Clement (9/5): Cool place - Very nice people and bedrooms, with a beautiful garden.
Located close to the mount rinjani, and they can make excursion in the jungle and the waterfall for you.
Everything was clean, and the food is just delicious !! We highly recommend you to have dinner there 😁😁 Location is a bit lost, but they offer to drop and to rent scooters !
- Frank (10/5): Exceptional -
- Rob (7/5): Interesting experience we do not regret - This family lets you into their lives which is a privilege. Go for a walk. Smile and say hello to everyone and enjoy the experience. There are 3 mosques all very close. Be ready for the loud noise. It can be quite over powering but realise it is an important part of their world.
- Daan (10/5): We had the best time at RatuRinjani, you need to go here!!! - we had the best time here at RatuRinjani and we wish we could've stayed longer! originally we booked for 7 nights, we ended up extending our stay and stayed a total of 13 nights. because our visa ran out we unfortunately couldn't stay longer.
the homestay is located in a very small village (it's the only homestay in the village so you're the only tourists in the village) and the cottages are only 5 months old. They're very beautiful and comfortable and have everything you need. the little balcony on the second floor is soo nice to chill and relax and enjoy the beautiful view of Rinjani Mountain.
The family is the absolute best. They're so kind and welcoming. Catherine is the best cook and she will cook amazing meals for you every single day which we enjoyed so much. the kids are so cute and Dave and Son taught us a lot about the culture, the village, they took us to the jungle, to a local wedding ceremony, a local waterfall, we went on a snorkeling trip to the less touristy gili islands which we would definitely recommend because it was absolutely beautiful and so much fun.
The whole family is happy to show you all around. It truly felt like family and we had the best time! we rented a scooter with them as well so we could explore on our own, go to the big city etc. It felt like we were with family and that's what made our stay so special and memorable. we would recommend this place to anyone! especially if you like a more quiet, secluded place in nature to rest and relax.
We will be back,
Bo & Daan
- Guilherme (10/5): An amazing experience with a local family - It was really really cozy and comfortable. The room has a second floor with a balcony to enjoy the beautiful view of the mountain. Breakfast was delicious and fresh. If you want dinner Catherine will prepare some incredible local food. She should open a Warung ;)
I felt like I was part of the family and really being taken care of. If you like to be close to the local culture and the nature, go for it (just be aware of the 4:30am prayer that can be quite loud. I managed just fine though). All perfect for me 😊
- Astrid (10/5): Amazing Eco-friendly homestay! - We loved our stay at Ratu Rinjani!
The hosts are the kindest people we met so far. They really care about their traditional culture and the nature they are surrounded by. They want to make you discover this very authentic environment.
- Anton (10/5): Great place with amazing people🙏 - Very nice, cozy and clean house. Beautiful furniture and specious bathroom.
Great view on Rinjani volcano.
I literally spent all days chilling at the second floor.
Absolutely amazing people who run this business. Very helpful and friendly. Definitely would love to come back🙏
- Dorit (10/5): Perfect Place to relax - The property is amazing! The huts face Mt Rinjani and the view from the little balcony was just great. The facilities are super new and sparkling clean! There’s enough space in the bathroom and the bedroom to hang clothes and the shower was really nice as well.
The location a bit far off from everything else but that‘s what makes it so charming. It was perfect to relax after traveling and just enjoy nature. The boys working there really went above and beyond to show us the area and local lives & crafts. We got to weave palm fronds with the neighbors and saw a local traditional wedding parade - really cool!
They arranged a pickup from the airport for us and also a drop off to our next stop, everything went smoothly and it was super comfortable. Everyones super nice and the family is just so welcoming!! The food was amazing, there was lots of fresh fruit with breakfast and we could take more from the garden if needed. The Rice and Noodles we had for dinner were absolutely delicious too. There is also filtered water available on the porch and there‘s a fridge in the room as well.
Definitely our favorite place on the trip!!
- Mikail (10/5): Raturinjani a home away from home! Best stay so far on my travels. - I had the pleasure of staying at Raturinjani Homestay in Lombok, and it was an experience I won't forget. Tucked away in a charming small village, this homestay offers a slice of authentic Indonesian hospitality that's second to none.
From the moment I arrived, the family running Raturinjani Homestay welcomed me with open arms and treated me like one of their own. I was greeted with warmth and kindness that made me feel right at home. The genuine hospitality extended to every aspect of my stay, from the heartfelt conversations to the delicious home-cooked meals. Ibu Cartini's cooking skills are truly exceptional. The food served at Raturinjani Homestay ranks among the best I've tasted in Indonesia. What's more, I was always invited to dine with the family which made my stay all the more special. As for the accommodation, I was pleasantly surprised by the room's comfort and cleanliness. The room surpassed my expectations and offered breathtaking views of the sunrise, garden and distant mountains. It was a joy to wake up each morning to such a beautiful scene. I also appreciated the attention to detail, such as the provided mosquito net, which ensured a peaceful night's sleep. It's the little touches like these that set Raturinjani Homestay apart from the rest. Overall, my time at Raturinjani Homestay was nothing short of exceptional. It provided the perfect escape from the busy tourist areas, allowing me to immerse myself in the beauty of Lombok's countryside. I wholeheartedly recommend this homestay to anyone looking for a genuine and memorable experience in Lombok. I know I'll certainly be returning in the future.
- Esther (10/5): Hospitality at its best - Definitely the best stay in whole Indonesia. The family is so caring and just amazing. They invited me every evening for dinner which was truly something special. The huts are super new, spacious, comfortable and absolutely clean. I loved everything about it.
- Shannavdwal (9/5): Superb - This is the best experience! 100% recommendation, if you know where you are booking for. The family gave us a super warm welcome. They would invite us every night for dinner and Cartini is a real good cook. The wooden house is beautiful, the bed sleeps good and the bathroom is very nice. Every morning we got breakfast at our porch with a great view on the Rinjani. They help you with activities in the neighbourhood. We went into the jungle for a day and helped a little bit with the ricefields. We felt at home! Big thanks to the family! Just know this is a little out of Tetebatu, 15 min with scooter. For us this was a plus because it felt all very authentic. We were here during Ramadan. There are a lot of prayers all day long. Bring some earplugs if you are a light sleeper.
- Luna (10/5): Highly recommend, had a lovely time there. The family is very friendly and helpful. - The accomodation is beautiful, the people are really friendly and the view on Rinjani is wonderful.
- Johannes (10/5): Raturinjani Homestay🫶🏻 - We had an exceptional experience at Raturinjani Homestay. The accommodation exceeded our expectations in every aspect. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, making our stay even more enjoyable. We highly recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable and welcoming place to stay -
- Callum (10/5): Our favourite place in Indonesia - We loved our week here and wanted to stay forever, the room has been beautifully built and came with a comfy big bed and duvet, the balcony up top with the beanbags was a unique touch and wonderful to relax and look over the volcano, the shower has hot water too! the village has just opened for tourism and has really nice waterfalls away from the regularly visited ones near by. The owners were the most welcoming people we’ve met and really made us feel like part of the family. They also offer guides who are extremely friendly and speak good English to the the waterfalls and volcano, we will be back to make the hike when the season starts again (April- December)
- Gaiarosi99 (10/5): Exceptional - I had an amazing two days stay with such a warm-hearted, genuine and loving family.
I had the chance to spend time with them, eat together, play with the two little princesses of the house, and experience the life in the village.
I always had fruit freshly picked from the tree, and good tea and coffee, and in general I had delicious food there: the mom is an amazing cook, and she even offered to teach me how to prepare some of the local food!
About the property itself, if you're a nature lover you're going to absolutely love it. The bungalow, spotless and extremely comfortable, is surrounded by greenery, far enough from the centre of the village - so keep in mind that having a motorbike is quite necessary - but close enough to the mosques - if you have a light sleep, you might need earplugs because early in the morning it can be quite loud -.
I honestly had a great time here, and I highly recommend everyone to stay here, you won't regret it!
- Eny (10/5): No way, I couldn't believe I could find a super fancy and comfortable place at such an amazing price. Can see the be - That’s fancy place and very comfy
- Léa (10/5): We will come back as soon as possible ! - Everything was so nice, beautiful and clean. Big plus for the owner, we even grill banana together one night around a boundfire. They can be discret but you can also spend time with their family if you want ❤️
You can also trust them when they recommend a guide, our was AMAZING ! Everything was amazing
- Devendra (10/5): Exceptional - Perfect place to live in natureand host was welcoming, helpfuland a good cook , you can go for a walk in jungle or explore ot, but go with a local guide. Weather was hot and fan was not enough in afternoon
- Lynn (10/5): Loved every bit of it!! And wonderful people! -
- Agnes (10/5): Exceptional - Very nice and calm area. Very clean and comfort room. Very kind family that provided me with everything i needed.
- Silvan (10/5): Beautiful and Welcoming - Very beautiful newly built little house with a nice view. The family was very welcoming and Hassan guided us a very nice hike through the area.
- Cédric (9/5): Super - Very nice homestay! The owners are very kind and welcoming. The bungalow is amazing all new. It’s a peaceful place to recharge. Don’t forget Lombok is Muslim where ever you stay you can hear the Adhan (call to prayer) 5 times a day. In this village the first one is at 04:30am, second 12:00pm, third 15:00pm, fourth 18:00pm and fifth 20:00pm.
