Guest Reviews
- Nwabunike (1/5): Terrible Property - ABSOLUTELY NOTHING Absolutely shocking experience dealing with Mack MacDougall. From the moment we arrived, his attitude was rude, aggressive, and completely unprofessional. His behaviour throughout our stay was nasty and intimidating, making us feel extremely uncomfortable in the property.
The property itself was poorly equipped, there was no fridge available, which meant our food and meals got completely spoilt. This was a major inconvenience and something that should have been clearly stated beforehand.
To make matters worse, we were charged an unbelievable £20 just to collect the key code for the key safe, which honestly felt like a ridiculous and unnecessary extra charge. Then, early in the morning on the day of checkout, Mack came into the property slapping doors loudly and aggressively after repeatedly reminding us that checkout was 9:30am. There was absolutely no respect for privacy or basic decency.
I would not recommend this property to my worst enemy. People like this should not be managing hospitality properties. Booking.com seriously needs to look into his business practices and overall conduct because individuals like Mack MacDougall will damage the reputation and credibility of the platform. Completely unacceptable experience from start to finish.
- Abe (7/5): - It would be good for youna people. Quite close to university. It was impopsible to conect WiFi. The camera reaords between the room and public showeroom. The owner got mad at me ip was late check in. They make me so nervous. So ip send my apology plup miserable feelgng and skip the final night staying of three days. A bit scared. Sorry and sad.

- Jason (8/5): Good option if you’re in Wrexham - Handy house share style venue with shared bathroom that is clean and tidy. Check in times are limited or you have to pay when the host lives on site isn’t great.
- Kevin (7/5): -
- Hatimhosny (7/5): -
- Sioned (10/5): A relaxing, homely stay which fitted my requirements perfectly. - Location, near the station and with easy parking was ideal. Excellent facilities (fridge, microwave, cutlery, serving dishes) all available in the room.
Access to a sensible kitchen area was much appreciated.
I valued the clear instructions managing security and use of various locks.
In one word. This was a place I could 😌 relax and feel as if I was at home. Nothing to report.
- KEVEN (9/5): Close to the football ground but still very quiet - I went to Wrexham to watch the football. The property was just a short walk away from the ground. The room was excellent with fridge, microwave. Very quiet area, full kitchen if needed, excellent host will return if Wrexham ever play Southampton again!! Nothing to dislike
- Oscar (7/5): - Clean, confortable and situated in a quiet area of the city. Small rooms with thin walls.
- Gareth (6/5): Would definitely use again - Easy to find. Located close to town centre Room was cold
- Kaif (1/5): DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE UNLESS ITS LESS THAN £40 - Only the location of where it was but the house itself was not nice from inside I didn't like anything especially the bathroom it was disgusting! The bedroom was not clean has this bad smell and was not clean and the mattress was extremely uncomfortable could feel the springs plus it was cold and when i asked for heating i was told it would be on but wasn't. The whole house had this really bad stench smell and it was unclean. This accomodation was definitely not worth the money that i paid which was almost same price as a hotel fee
- Roxana (1/5): Never ever going to that place again - Nothing It's the first time when I'm disappointed
.I wasn't able to check in at 8pm because the owner didn't bother to let me in..😡😡😡😡
- Daniel (2/5): -
- Lee (10/5): - Great price and location, 5 mins from the train station, host was super nice and friendly. No dislikes, wyas all excellent.
- Daniel (8/5): Brilliant overall would recommend - Location was brilliant Shared bathroom but I already knew about this so it’s a real minor to be honest
- James (9/5): - Great location. Next to Wrexham FC stadium and only a short walk to the centre of town. Great value for money. I will definitely stay there again next time i visit.
- Richard (10/5): -

- Esnart (1/5): Do not Pay for reservation to Mark directly - Pay through Booking.com be safe - Mark is a very deceiving and unprofessional person. He wants you to pay your booking directly to him this is against booking.com policy.
I booked a room at 60£ on booking.com and paid through booking.com. Mark was very angry and demanded i pay directly to him and cancel my booking on booking.com - He then asked me to pay 75£ instead of the 60£ i paid on booking.com. A day light robbery- this must not be tolerated and booking.com must be aware of such characters. Further potential customers must be aware to avoid going through what i have gone through. This is very unprofessional for someone which is Mark to ask for money to be paid through back door to him rather than a reputable organization which will not scam you and will defend you legally if things go wrong. Watch out for this- do not lose your money. Do not pay directly through Mark - pay to booking.com. Off course he will force you to pay directly to him- this was what he did to me- when i refused he asked me to cancel the booking i paid on booking.com and instead demanded for a 75£ rather than the 60£ i paid on booking.com. Please take caution of Marks behavior towards money.
- Naima (1/5): Very dirty, very cold, and the horse was unfriendly - Location It was a very dirty. I couldn’t use the toilet at all. I want to the hospital to use the toilet , that was unacceptable
- Hamer (1/5): - Not The bed was uncomfort and pillows was flat you at go up down for water and give wrong wifi passord detail and told age to sort it out
- Florina Adina (10/5): -
- Shlomo (9/5): -
- David (10/5): Host picked me up from the Train Station. - PERFECT in every way Nothing
- Andrew (10/5): Thankyou for having me - Great hotel
- Mahmoud (1/5): -
- Raza (1/5): -
- John (10/5): would stay sgain if I have too - Closeness to football ground nothing
- Jonas (10/5): -
- Les (9/5): -
- Hans (10/5): - Mark var mycket trevlig och hjälpsam.
- Claire (10/5): Great location to watch the football - Fantastic location and literally a 5 minute walk over to the wrexham football ground, everything you need for a stay including a fridge, microwave and a table to eat at all in the room 😀
- Construction (7/5): Good location
Good Location - Good location for the event we were going to. Shared bathroom, but that's personal choice.
- Adam (10/5): Perfect location, easy access, perfect room & great communication, will be back. - Great location to get to by either car or train and still quiet at night there despite being so close to the town centre (10min walk). The place was spotless, comfy bed and all amenities you could ask for including plenty of brew making stuff and Mark the host/owner is a lovely guy. Will definitely stay there again next time we're watching a band or the football at Wrexham.
- Patrick (1/5): Very disappointed - Nothing Very poor relationship from the host
- Kipling (10/5): - How short the walk from the train station, the price is definitely the best for the location.
- karin (10/5): Quiet, comfy - A very decent sized room. Double bed, table, chairs, fridge. Bathroom downstairs - shared with three other rooms. Crockery and cutlery. Downstairs microwave and washing machine.
Quiet. Off street parking. Close proximity to my conference. Street parking. Would happily return N/a
- Kashif (1/5): Overall, this was one of the worst booking experiences I’ve had and I would advise others to avoid. - VERY BAD, READ BELOW. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND. AVOID AT ALL COSTS. Very disappointing experience. The owner did not show up at the agreed time and told me by text to park on the road and wait for two hours. I contacted Booking.com support, and even they couldn’t reach him. After a long 3.5-hour drive, I was exhausted and eventually had to book a room at the Premier Inn instead. About 90 minutes later, the owner texted saying I hadn’t come to the property, which was completely untrue. Very poor communication and lack of professionalism. I would not recommend this property.
- Megan (8/5): - Easy spot to stop after watching a Wrexham game! Thanks for the hospitality.
- darren (10/5): good Mark was very polite and helpful. - location fine, no breakfast. shower not very good,
toilet seat loose
- Glesni (8/5): Very nice hosts. Would be happy to stay again - Very convenient to get in and out of Wrexham. Room was very nice and comfortable One shared bathroom and a very small one
- Neil (8/5): Great communication and help from the owner - Good location for my needs.
Parking available.
- Dennis (7/5): - It was a pleasure to talk to someone so knowledgeable about Wrexham AFC. A highlight of the trip.
- Tony Bach (9/5): A very pleasant stay with a warm and friendly host. I shall stay here next time I'm in Wrexham. - Extremely helpful and personable host. Excellent location in quiet area of Wrexham within walking distance of the football stadium as well as the town centre.
- Stefan (9/5): Would stay there again. - Located in convenient distance of Wrexham General railway station in a quiet neighbourhood, petrol station nearby. House is clean and quiet. Communication with host was easy and instructions on how to get the keys were clear. Toilet seat was loose, but that's a minor inconvenience.
- Paul (7/5): The facilities are basic as described in the hosts write up. I think I was in the cheapest room but it did meet my requi - Owner was helpful, the description was accurate, it was in a quiet location.
- David (8/5): A handy place to stay just outside Wrexham town centre - A very warm welcome from Mark. A good location - the town centre is only 15 mins walk away. The bedroom was clean and bright, and the tea/coffee making facility in the room is excellent (there is also a microwave and a sink at the foot of the stairs for those wanting to heat up some food). I stayed in a total of five properties over the course of a week, of which the other four were all en suite and cheaper - a Travelodge stay in the middle of Telford was actually £20 cheaper than here, where the bathroom was shared and on the ground floor - it could also do with a facelift! Other than that I would thoroughly recommend it.
- Marc (9/5): Great local experience - Mark is an excellent person, he has a beautiful conversation and provide me with several tips that improve my experience in Wrexham All was fine
- Mike (7/5): Good -
- John (6/5): Pleasant - Host was friendly enough The host knew the heat was unbearable but offered nothing to cool down the room temperature which made sleep impossible
- Jackson (8/5): Very good -
- Pat (8/5): Very good - The room was clean and roomy with everything you would need.
Mark was very accomodating. It would have been nice to have a fan in the room as it was sweltering....I wasn't happy with bathroom being downstairs but that is my preference.
- Aires (7/5): Good - Very good location. Easy to find.
- Winner (10/5): Everything was excellent
Mark was very friendly and welcoming.
Everywhere was neat. - Everything was excellent
Mark was very friendly and welcoming.
Everywhere was neat.
Great guy!
- Gray (7/5): Good -
- Esnart (1/5): Mark is a very deceptive person- Non professional person. He wants to get more money from customers - Mark is very unprofessional forced me to cancel my booking on booking.com because he does not want to pay service charge to booking.com . I ended up loosing my money because of him canceling my booking on booking.com which was non-refundable. All he was doing was avoiding service charge on booking.com
This was very unprofessional- please do not accept this from Mark- as he will deceive you that booking.com charges much on him. One wonders why he chooses to advertise his property on booking.com if he is not wiling to pay service charge to them. Moreover there is only security if you book through booking.com as you can complain of the bad services to booking.com rather than to Mark as an individual. WATCH out for this- only pay through booking.com. Booking.com charged me 60 and Mark wanted a 75£ from me. Very unfair and unprofessional. Don't be deceived by him. Always pay your booking through booking.com not to him to his personal account. Pay securely through booking.com - be safe, stay safe. Do not be deceived.
- Christina (8/5): MET MY NEEDS - Location, welcome from Mark, it was a quiet house, unlimited free bottled water I knew before but always prefer my own ensuite but the price reflects this
- David (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jon (10/5): Exceptional - Mark was fantastic, friendly and extremely hospitable. Rooms were spacious, Didn't have toilet or bathroom no big deal though had a shared one.
- Paul (9/5): Superb - Very quiet, host was on hand and helpful
- Jon (8/5): Very good - Bed and room clean and comfortable. Host brilliant and friendly. Location fantastic too. Shared bathroom.
- Dawid (10/5): Lovely - Mark was very nice and we felt like at home, super nice garden and lovely neighborhood, location amazing, less than 5 minutes from the Wrexham's stadium.
- Malcolm (8/5): Very good - Convenient for city centre
- Agnieszka (7/5): Good - A quiet place away from the hustle and bustle of the city you can get some sleep. The bed is reasonably comfortable, clean and fragrant bed linen and towels. In addition, a plus is the garden where you can drink coffee or smoke.Very good communication with the owner.
- Pieter (8/5): Very good - Nice location and friendly host. Being rushed out when you are checking out.
- Andreas (8/5): Very good - Nice cozy room in a lovely neighborhood. The check-in was hassle free with the keys in a keybox outside the main entrance door. The owner, Mark, was very quick to answer any questions.
There is a nice garden to chill out. The location is close to the soccer stadium and the train station. A walk into town takes about 20 minutes. Nothing to dislike.
- John (8/5): clean but basic and cheap. If going for football just a block away -
- Steven (8/5): Am enjoyable stay in a central location - This accommodation has a great location and an extremely helpful owner (Mark) who will go out of his way to be of assistance. It is very much no frills but clean and tidy. The bedroom has a TV and coffee facilities, there is also a shared kitchen and bathroom. I liked it here a lot and enjoyed my conversations with Mark. I'd happily stay here again and it is certainly value for money in the location it is based in. Nothing really, it was as I expected. As previously mentioned no frills but everything you need is there.
- Andy (8/5): No nonsense stay and has what you need. - It was convenient for the city centre, easy to find and the host was a nice guy.
- Jonathan (8/5): Very good - Good location 10 minute walk to town centre
Helpful host
- Christina (7/5): Great location, value for its price - Great and very convenient location. Very close to the hospital and the stadium. Free parking on the spot. The owner and his partner were very kind and helpful and extremely sweet. The shared bathroom could be a bit cleaner and the shower required a trick to be known to function properly. Some loud noises/barking quite late suddenly woke me up, but otherwise no big issues.
- Samuel (10/5): Excellent fulfillment - The location is perfect, just closed to the stadium and very nearer to big such as Farm foods, just a few minutes walk to the town center, very clean property, the owner was checking up every seconds to know my whereabouts, whether am lost my way, basically he thinks about customers security and safety. Very friendly, make feel like am home and was incredible. I love everything ❤️
- Gurjeet (10/5): Exceptional - Everything
- Ino (10/5): Lovely place good value - The property was situated just right for us has was going to football. I have no complaints about were we stayed mark was a excellent host would stay again
- Shin (10/5): Great location, close proximity to the stadium and station - Stayed for 2 nights in the single room. It was compact but had all I needed for the stay. The accomondation had a garden which I can imagine to be a great during the summer days. The owner Mark was very helpful and has great knowledge of the football club as well as the local areas. I was even able to checkin earlier which also helped. Not much I can think of.
- Yihyng (9/5): Great place to stay if you are planning to go to watch a Wrexham AFC home match. - Mark was very helpful in getting us settled into the place and he provided a lot of local trivia about Wrexham AFC, showing us the sights on the way to the stadium and bringing us to the pub where the local Wrexham fans hung out. It was very nice of him to go the extra mile to show the guests heading to the match the local landmarks and share some information about the club and the latest happenings. The bed and pillow were all very comfortable for us. Mark had 3 parking lots in front of his place and we were able to park our car at the place before walking <1km to the stadium for the match. The room does not have an ensuite bathroom so there is a need to share with the other guests and take turns for the showering and using the bathroom. Other than that, there isn't really much to complain about!
- Jeffrey (7/5): Good -
- Hodges (1/5): DAMP - location room was freezing cold and everything was damp and felt almost wet. we were given towels which had clearly not been washed in a while. the bed was full of stains and there was also what seemed to be cat hair in the bed. will not return!
- Richard (8/5): Excellent Air BnB - The location was good and the host very welcoming
- Kyle (8/5): Very good - Mark was very friendly and in a great location Walls are maybe a bit thin, could hear the others
- Grahame (10/5): Exceptional - Mark is a great host
- Benjamin (9/5): Superb - good location, quiet area, accommodating host. Shower was very temporalmental and one of the beds was abit stiff.
- Sam (10/5): Exceptional - Overnight stop for the football, the host was very welcoming and helpful. The room was as advertised and perfect for our needs. Nothing
- Lexer (8/5): Property met my needs. Couldn’t ask for more. - Quietness of the house, good views to the garden Bathroom. May benefit from glass enclosure.
- Ehsan (1/5): Dirty place to sleep and extra charge - No heating. Owner wife was deaf and watching loud tv and didn’t let us sleep. Noisy place .2 hours check in whole day 2pm until 4 pm we came 5 o’clock and pay extra £30 charge. No facility at all . Smelly blankets. Horrible place to stay and waisting you money. Never recommended for any body. Noting good. Dirty and noisy
- Strawser (9/5): Super-close to Wrexham train station, "The Turf," & the Racecourse. Very walkable. Mark = great host - Mark was very friendly and accommodating. The room was a simple studio which is exactly what I needed. The morning of checkout Mark helped me track down a ball pump, drove me to the store, and helped me quickly find it. He then drove me to get some quick breakfast and then to the train station. He's very easy to talk to and was a great host. The room was clean and comfortable and certainly met my needs. The neighbor across the hall played loud music late at night, but I didn't care as I sleep/slept with earplugs.
- Ponsing (10/5): Exceptional -
- David (2/5): Very poor -
- Wakatama (5/5): Passable -
- Matthew (9/5): Friendly host - Host was very friendly and let use check in early. Location was good for the football and 10 minutes for center Early check out
- Grahame (10/5): Exceptional - Great landlord None
- Mark_crompton (8/5): Lovely host friendly and helpful. Thanks - Location is perfect for the footy. Location to main road is good. Microwave i did not know about otherwise i would have brough food, my mistake there. Bathroom did have lots of mold. damp parts. My room was lovely.
- Yessous (7/5): Good - Very nice and friendly owner. Close to the city center. The cleanliness of the bathroom was a bit questionable.
- Ponsing (10/5): Exceptional - I am able to sleep properly and peacefully.
- Humphreys (8/5): Very good -
- Sheila (5/5): A dry port in a storm - No breakfast. Hot drinks only. Very close to city. Mattress. TV function, heating. Notice in shared bathroom to leave as found.
- David (8/5): Very good - Not to far from town
