- Maria (10/5): Hyvä tukikohta pitkälle viikonloppuvierailulle. - Rauhallinen sijainti. Huone oli suurempi kuin odotin ja kotoisa, hieman mummola tunnelmaa (positiivisella tavalla). Oleskelutilat ja ruokasali olivat viihtyisiä. Persoonallinen kokonaisuus jossa rakennuksen historiaa on yhä näkyvissä. On aina mukava nähdä vanhoja rakennuksia uudessa käytössä. Lähistöllä parikin kauppaa ja keskustaankin on ihan vain kävelymatka. Onnistuisi helposti myös pyörällä (pyörätie kulkee kätevästi). Bussillakin varmasti pääsee mutta en itse selvitellyt tätä vaihtoehtoa. Ilalla huone oli hieman viileähkö (lämpimät sukat ja mukavat tohvelit auttavat asiaa).

- Hilkka (8/5): Viehättävä vanhahko rakennus, jonka jatkuva käyttö on kulttuuriteko! - Sijainti hyvä - kohtuullinen reipas kävelymatka keskustaan. Huone oli illalla kylmähkö.

- Ruohonen (7/5): Rauhallinen ja siisti majoituspaikka ilmaisella parkilla ja hyvällä sijainnilla - Siisti ja rauhallinen majoituspaikka, jossa ilmainen parkki autolle. Huone oli vähän kylmä. Pihalla tosin oli -20 pakkasta niin selittänee. Huoneen sänky oli mielestäni vähän kehno.

- Lina (8/5): - The hosts were very friendly after the initial confusion about our booking, but they found it. There is a bookable sauna and the room is very spacious. The Hostel is a bit further away from the center, but walkable. The kitchen was a bit confusing, some pots didn't had lids and the pots were very huge. We just wanted to cook some rice amd we had to use a very big pot (maybe we didn't find the otjers)

- Elias (8/5): Rauhallinen ja kotoisa. - Sijainti on hyvä, kävelymatkan päässä keskustasta. Historiallinen rakennus ja erinomainen sisäilma. Henkilökunta oli mukavaa ja esittelivät hyvin tiloja. Yleinen tila oli hyvin kotoisa ja löytyi paljon luettavaa kirjastonurkasta. Elvis on kingi 👑 Erillisillä vessat ja suihkut olivat erikoisesti ratkaistu. Tämä kuitenkin johtuu arkkitehtuurista. Tämä pitää ottaa huomioon oman ja muiden asukkien käytön kanssa. Myös ruuan tekemiseen pitää varautua erikseen.

- Nikolaus (9/5): Friendly but unconventional hostel - Friendly hostel (If you don't suffer from dog panic - sign at the door ready "don't touch the dog") but kind of unconventional - almost as many (quite spatious) common rooms as (quite small) guest rooms. Common rooms somehow convey feeling as like staying in someone else's private home. No breakfast served and no eateries with breakfast next to the House. But there are two supermarkets just around the corner and there are the multiple kitchens. House offers rental bikes which ist a great thing in a place with such excellent biking infrastructure as Oulu. But - check the brakes before leaving! Overall value for money ist good.

- Sara (9/5): Superb - Vexi and Auli are two really efficient, helpful and friendly hosts with an easy and interesting conversation. They' ve made me feel like home. Well kept, cozy and warm ambiance in kitchen and living room. Clean and equipped with all that we may need. Very comfortable room. The location, great: a short walk of 2km to the city center; otherwise buses 15 and 18. Everything was super nice. I would definetely stay here again if visiting Oulu.
- Pia (8/5): Unique and comfortable stay - OH WOW. I wished they promoted this building more. Ever since I stayed at Paimion paratola (paimio sanatorium designed by Aalto) I have a new love for the functional humanism and design of Finnish public care homes. This sort of reminded me of a health clinic but I read on its history: it was an orphanage then a rehab centre. If you need a rest this place does have healing vibes. On their website they even mentioned it can be rented for longer periods, or be a artist in residence stay( excellent idea, and I’d be tempted to do that. Oulu does seem like a brilliant place to get some creative work done. I really loved my stay in the city). Room was very comfortable and beautiful. Facilities were clean. I love the social area. There were also sooooo many books available- it was like a dream! Definitely a very unique stay and an excellent reuse of a public building. Keep up the good work! Nice location with a very vintage Finnish strip mall like locale across the street, it’s a 20 minute walk from the railway station. A bit of a work in progress, this was only recently turned into a hostel so the kitchen area did not seem very organised. It’s a little higher priced per night than average in Finland but nothing unreasonable. Manager has a dog, elvis, and the dog can act like he needs to protect the place from guests (I understand- it’s not easy to be a pup with natural territorial instincts and the living in a space with guests. But ok, doggo is learning. If you are afraid of dogs, it may be good to let the management know ahead of time, I love love love dogs, I just popped in at a surprising time, so dog was in full-territorial-need-to-protect-everything-mode, and I could see that worrying some people. And I can understand that can worry some people)even though dog was passing by I didn’t notice animal hairs/scent anywhere, so it’s pretty clean.
