Guest Reviews
- James (3/5): Don't come unless you can be certain that the lodge is better organized for tourism. - I am very sorry to rate this place badly. The village was setting was fantastic and compensated for all the disappointments. There were no cars and fewer than four or five motorbikes during our entire stay. Quiet, fresh air, green. It could be truly excellent with only some small improvements. The environmental project itself was excellent, but there was no one to show us the project or any of its effects or any of the participants. It would be easy - and wonderful - if they showcased village activities (as similar places do). The village itself would have easily been worth the effort to get there, but we received no advice about HOW to reach the village. Instead of taking the easy route on a lovely public ferry from Dhamakhali (for 100 rupees) we ended up taking a much longer and uninteresting route from Gosaba (for 6000 rupees!) on a private ferry. We only learned about the options AFTER we arrived. If they want to attract foreign tourists, they need to have an English speaker on premises. The tour of the Sunderbans was poor. The lodge manager arranged our tour connected us to the tour we went on. The guide, it turned out, knew no English and did not seem to have information about the mangrove forests.
- Debashish (10/5): Exceptional -
- Amit (10/5): Awesome trip on the lap of nature with most warm hosts - This resort is run by a group of people(mostly belonging to kumirmari village) who are dedicated to the happiness of the customers. Impeccable hospitality by the staff. They helped arrange our entire trip starting from vehicle, boat, food, spots to see etc. Each and every demand was heard with lot of warmth and stay was made ultra comfortable.
Food provided was made from local ingredients which enhanced the taste. I would recommend to book this for the sundarban trip rather than booking a commercial hotel or resort.
