• Magda (10/5): We recommend this apartment 100% and we will definitely be back! - We had absolutely amazing time in Oban. Apartment was absolutely beautiful, clean and in such a great location. We had amazing sleep on really comfortable beds! The only issue we had it was lots of teenagers being very loud right behind our bedrooms windows as their “meeting spot” was on the bench behind the building. But around 11.30/ midnight they all went away.

• Moray (7/5): A nice stay in Oban, location is great. Good excercise on the stairs! - Very clean and spacious flat and central to Oban. Great location with a view over the town. Some biscuits, milk etc on arrival which was handy. Very squeaky doors, we had to buy some WD40 to oil hinges after first night as doors kept everyone awake. TV went on the blink every time it was switched on. Took about 10 minutes to correct itself. Second bedroom wasn’t set up as 2 singles despite confirmation this would be the case, it did get sorted that evening though so all good in the end.

• Paul (8/5): We had a lovely few days staying in this great apartment. - Location and size of this well equipped property is great. Very noisy doors especially the bathroom! Although we knew about the stairs when booking it did make us think twice about just popping out!
• Annabel (5/5): The beds were uncomfortable & the communication was absolutely terrible - they did not care - The flat was functional, large enough for 4, and the view was nice. The bathroom was large enough but there was no bath. The lock box was simple enough but the problem was the (lack of) communication. I was supposed to be told a week before where exactly we’d be staying and what the arrangements were for getting the keys. I got nothing until after I hassled them the day before, when they had the audacity to say they’d sent the details previously (they hadn’t). The flat was perhaps more suited to stag parties - the worst, least comfortable mattresses in the world, a massive bin right in the living area, a tiny “dining” table (not at all big enough for 4 people). The TV was small. The smoke alarm went off every time we made toast and it was painfully loud. I wouldn’t like to go there with very young children - the edges of the coffee table were sharp enough that two of us (sober adult and older child) cut ourselves on them.
• Silvia (7/5): Pleasant ample space 2-bed, 1- bath and kitchen apartment. - 2-bedroom, kitchen stocked and ample sized WC. The mattress sheet had a stain. Bed itself and pillows need updating. No lift.
• George (7/5): Great introduction to the highlands. - Location was very central in OBAN. Directions were very good. There are four flights of stairs which are described in the listing. They are very tall stairs, so just beware you will get your exercise.
• Ruth (7/5): Stop over while touring the isles - The location is great, the apartment is clean, modern and functional, so great for a short tourist stay. Fantastic views over the town. All the doors had fire closures on them, making them very noisy and squeaky! The kitchen was simple and a bit basic. The apartment was on the 4th floor with no lift, so if you've got luggage, be warned! The building also smells a bit odd...but only noticeable in the hallways and stairwell.

• Stephen (2/5): Hard work, little reward! - The apartment was clean and comfortable close to the centre of Oban. Unfortunately, the apartment was located on the 4th floor with no lift, a fact not pointed out until after the booking was confirmed. Our 7 year old son is disabled and requires a lot of equipment (food blender as he's peg fed, syringes, oxygen cylinders, saturation monitor, baby monitor, adapted buggy and a lot of other equipment) all of which had to be carried, along with our son, up all 4 floors. We booked for 2 nights and felt the £476 cost was extremely expensive for what was on offer. There was no personal touch like you would get from booking with an independent host. It seems West holidays is the kind of company that ships people in and ships them out with a quick turnaround and high cost to maximise their profits. We shall be avoiding any properties managed by West holidays in the future.

Light bulb out. I didn't read email properly and apartment was on 4th floor. We had no mobility issues so wasn't much of a problem but check when booking

The rotunda, McCaig's folly was so interesting too. Fab fish at Ee usk.pp The fact that the 68 steps to the flat was not divulged until I paid, was very distressing as we three are all elderly and not too fit! Keep it open and honest!

• Egle (9/5): Superb - We loved how spacious the apartment was. Also it was beautifully furnished, had all necessary cooking appliances and was conveniently and centrally located. 4th floor without a lift was a bit hard work. Also the fire alarm is super sensitive so it’s impossible to make a toast or cook anything in the over without setting it off.

We were unable to cook at all without it going off, even the toaster and steam from the kettle activated it. Opening the windows before making a slice of toast didnt even help While i appreciate this necesary safety feature it made "self catering" super annoying.
