Guest Reviews
- Orla (9/5): - Love the layout of the house. Easy enough to follow any instructions given ie heating, hot water etc... 3 toilets which was amazing... easy access to all shops, beach etc ... lovely house will definitely book again There was just one bedroom upstairs that I didn't like... it was the bedroom with a single bed and double bed, the mattress was very thin and uncomfortable ... but with all the beds and space it made up for it ...
- Jennifer (7/5): -
- Sara (10/5): Loved our stay - Spacious and clean. Enclosed back garden was ideal.would highly recommend Sandys cafe in the town for breakfast. The kids loved the pancakes.
- Stephanie (10/5): -
- Helena (10/5): Family get together at our favourite town - Walk to centre and beach
- Alan (4/5): Could be a great wee house but needs a good clean - It’s located within walking distance of the town It needs a good clean - under/behind beds and furniture, kitchen cupboards and doors all need a good clean. Broken leg on table, two broken chairs in kitchen and only 2 X 2 seater sofas left us very short of anywhere to sit. Random selection of crockery in various stages of cleanliness, only 2 wine glasses and 2 teaspoons. All in all, it needs a makeover and a trip to Ikea for some decent glasses and crockery!
- Ruth (9/5): A great place to stay - Plenty of space and nicely decorated. Very convenient location with a small supermarket just across the road. Could park right in front of the house. Was a little bit noisy at night with the traffic, but not too bad.
- Dulitha (8/5): Close proximity to all tourists destinations. Enough washroom and toilet facilities and worth for the money. - Perfect location for tourists attractions. everything was within 30 min away. Spar and petrol 30 sec aways. All facilities were there like washing machines, dryers, kitchen equipment etc. Furnitures including beds were not very good and beddings are not the cleanest.
- Emma (8/5): Great stay in a really central property. - The location was really central, the house was really clean & had all the amenities we needed. The noise from the road was pretty loud at the front of the house.
The living area could be doing with extra seating, although the pool table was a big hit with my teens!
- Tim (10/5): Great location and very big house - Great location, very clean and lots of space
- Kathryn (6/5): -
- Amber Kerr (9/5): - We really enjoyed are stay, and made some lovely memories as a family! The pool table got some use, was played non stop! Thank you!
- kathleen (9/5): Enjoyed the stay very clean and comfortable -
- Dennis (8/5): - Location is very good
Plenty of space
Beds comfortable
Plenty of cutlery etc A lot of noise from traffic
Uncomfortable sofas
Not enough lounge seating
- David (9/5): Excellent stay - Very handy location to all the amenities The noise from the traffic in all the front rooms of the house as it’s located on a busy road.
- Burns (8/5): -
- Breige (10/5): -
- Naomi (10/5): - Amazing house for families—spacious, comfortable, and perfect for kids to play and enjoy. We’d love to come back! Loved everything
- Bell (10/5): - Location good. Short walk to beach and Diamond. House had everything needed and enclosed outside space with seating which was perfect for our small dog.
- Doyle (10/5): -
- Katrina (10/5): - Was very big and beautiful and spacious. I had 2 autistic kids with me and they were very settled. One didn't want to leave as he loved the pool table. Was very home from home
- Joanne (10/5): - Lovely space, clean and fresh. All cooking facilities available to make family meals.
Great location for exploring.
- Linda (10/5): Great to see freinds again and all be together in one clean, comfortable accomodation. - Central for all attractions, shopping & beach.
- pamela (10/5): Brilliant ! - Lots of room and space for six people and one dog
- Karen (10/5): -
- Barbs1952 (9/5): It was a very pleasant stay in a well equipped clean home.j - The location was very good
A short stroll into the town. And handy for the beach. It was a bit difficult to get a response to emails.
No Wi-Fi n the downstairs bedroom.
- Paddy (9/5): Superb - Perfect location just a short distance from The Diamond in Ballycastle. Easy to access and the host answered all queries promptly. Beds were very comfy.
- Claire (10/5): Spacious and well located - The house is very spacious. 2x families stayed, 4 adults and 5 children and there was plenty of room, each bedroom big and well decorated.
The house would hold up to 11 adults, there's a mixture of single and double beds.
I loved the fact that there was 2 bathrooms - 1 upstairs and 1 downstairs and an extra toilet downstairs. Bathrooms had shampoo and shower gels already there and towels provided.
The kitchen was well equipped with mugs, glasses, crockery, cutlery, condiments, tea/coffee and lots of plastic plates and bowls for kids.
The location was fab so close to take aways (indian next door), pubs, spar across the road, bakery 2 doors up and 15 mins walk to the beach.
The kids loved the pool table and spacious back garden with picnic benches. Our bed was uncomfortable, just had had plenty of use and the sofa in the living room had been well used too and was sank in at the back. These are my only faults and wouldn't put me off staying again.
We all loved it!
- Eq (10/5): Exceptional - Excellent location and very comfortable beds loads of room ..ideal for elderly people with the downstairs bedroom and bathroom..highly recommend ...bakery next door is very nice also
- Tina (9/5): Well priced stay and everything we needed for a family weekend - Property was very spacious and handy to the town, property is deceiving from the outside, it looks run down and old on the outside but inside was a great size & nicely decorated. Everything was smooth self check in was easy WiFi tv etc all straight forward to do, didn’t need to contact the owner. When we arrived, the house was freezing and it took quite a few hours to heat up but was lovely and warm when we finally had the heat going.
- Lyn (9/5): Fantastic comfortable weekend with friends. - Spacious accommodation, good size bedrooms. Location in town centre with convenient bakery, Spar and pubs very close by. Have suggested to owner that he puts in another settee for guests to sit together and this received positive feedback.
- Stephen (10/5): Exceptional -
- Domonique (10/5): Lovely stay, great layout for family to all be together whilst having space. - Ideally situated. Absolute gem of a find. Would highly recommend. Nothing.
- Michael (7/5): Good value for money accom for larger groups. - Good location for exploring causeway coast and Belfast. Close to shops, pubs , and restaurants . 4 large bedrooms offering 6 beds so great for large groups We were group of six adults and living room was set up for comfy seating for 4 plus pool table.
- Gareth (9/5): Superb -
- John (10/5): Will be going back to this location. - Location, spacious rooms, spotless. No complaints.
- Caitlin (10/5): Great stay, the location, amenities and host was lovely - The location was great, it was a lovely walk to the marina and the beach. The rooms were big and there were plenty of them too. The kitchens and living area was great and even better with a pool table also. The host was also lovely!
- Dermot (7/5): stay was spot on as close to everything needed - keys were in secure key box wifi and tumble dryer
- Hannah (9/5): Fantastic stay at Ballycastle Bolthole - A fabulous, well equipped house that comfortably accommodated us all (2 adults and 5 kids). Pool table a huge plus and kept kids off devices! Location fantastic for the beach (walking distance) and travelling around Antrim. Parking outside front door. Plenty of food options on the doorstep...take aways, restaurants, shops and a bakery next door! Clear and quick communication from Jonathan. We absolutely loved our stay at Ballycastle Bolthole. Thank you 😊 Nothing
- Emma (10/5): 10 out of 10 - Wow! I have stayed in a lot of booking.com accommodation but this has 100% been the best!
Exceptionally clean.
Bedrooms great size, beds really comfortable and the living and kitchen areas super. Great feature having a pool table which kept the kids and husbands occupied!
Modern bathrooms, again super super clean.
We were gifted some welcome items in the fridge which was really kind.
The house is a 5 min walk from the main street so everything was in walking distance. Maxol garage 2 mins across the street for essentials. Very tastefully decorated Nothing. Everything about the house was fabulous!
- Geraldine (8/5): Very good - House was spacious, modern, plenty of rooms, and spotlessly clean. Great location, central to all amenities. The rooms to the front of the house were a bit noisy at night with the traffic, especially as house located on main street. However, given I live in the country and am not used with traffic, this may not be an issue with some people.
- Marie (10/5): A ballycastle gem! - We just loved everything about this house. Fantastic location - 10/15 min walk to beach, takeaway options literally on your doorstep! 5 mins walk to bars and restaurants. The house itself is like a tardis - so deceiving on the outside. Lovely fresh decor throughout and lots of space for everyone to enjoy. The kitchen is well equipped, and the host provided fresh towels and everything we could need. We cannot wait for our return visit. Loved it all!
- Endija (9/5): Superb - Great location, stylish interiors, comfortable beds. There was some noise from the street but we didn't mind it as the location was excellent.
- Amanda (10/5): Family stay in ballycastle
Home from home
Excellent standard and very helpful friendly host - Plenty of space very comfortable great for kids and the family dog cupboards well stocked with everything we needed felt like home away from home No complaints
- Brian (10/5): Fantastic property in the perfect location for Ballycastle. - Fantastic location, fully equipped and perfect for our family with three kids. The hosts were fantastic and really looked after us too. Can't recommend this property enough. 😀
- George (10/5): A Day at the Seaside - We had an absolutely fantastic time during our family get-together in Ballycastle with 5 adults and 5 children. The house was so spacious that no one had to fight for elbow room, and it was spotless. The host Jonathan was a superstar and only a message away if we needed anything.
We had a blast exploring Ballycastle, hitting up all the shops, and a wonderful day at the seaside building sandcastles and braving the chilly sea.
Theres a bakery just a few doors down, and the street is lined with enough takeaway options to keep even the pickiest eaters satisfied. The Spar across the street was our go-to for those last-minute snack attacks.
The house also came with a pool table, which turned our kids into budding pool sharks overnight.
Honestly, thank you for providing such a delightful experience. You’ve made a big family very happy and we will be laughing about our adventures for some time :) thanks again :)
- Barbara (8/5): Very good -
- Theresa (10/5): Great holiday - Great location
Comfortable accommodation
And excellent host WiFi
- Sandra (8/5): Very good -
- John (10/5): Exceptional - The size and facilities were exactly what was needed. Locations good and outside area was superb. Busy main road but not much can be done about that. Double glazing blocked out any noise.
- Chris (10/5): Exceptional - Great spot, exactly as presented in the pics.
I don't review a lot of stays but felt I had to with this one.
Top host and really well equipped house. Will certainly be back again.
- Tanya (8/5): Great location - Great location. Lots of bedrooms & bathrooms & good value Minimal kitchen stuff
- Adele (9/5): Easter in Ballycastle - The house had plenty of space for our two family group. We enjoyed playing pool. The location was great, everything in walking distance & a great Spar just over the road. There is a great outside space too which will be lovely for the summer. There were plenty of extras like cleaning stuff, laundry pods, toiletries etc. Jon was a great host, meeting & explaing everything to us. We had a great stay, Ballycastle is awesome! We found it difficult to connect the TV to the WiFi but we were able to use our phones, so not a big deal.
- Amalia (10/5): Exceptional - Fabulous house with everything you could want ,the kids loved playing with the pool table,it was a great distraction! Absolutely recommend it ,not far from the giants causeway or the rope walk!Great pubs and restaurants down the road from the house which are lovely and friendly,we had 3 children with us and they left us stay till closing time !
- Daniel (10/5): Exceptional - Everything was perfect, the house was amazing and the host couldn't have been more helpful

- Mof (10/5): Perfect location - The space in the house was amazing and it fitted all of us really comfortably! Jon the host was fantastic and made us feel right at home! We can't wait to book it again!!
- Helena (10/5): Excellent value for money - Nice rooms with lots of natural light and plenty of room to walk about. Was great having the big bedroom downstairs with the large shower room as we had my elderly parents with us.
- Anne (7/5): Good -
- Diana (10/5): Exceptional - Very comfortable and everything you could possibly need for your stay, the pool table was great entertainment and plenty of room for everyone to sit together. Our hosts put the heating on for our arrival, tea coffee and milk provided and they very thoughtfully got my dad a cake as the stay was for his 80th birthday, wish we could have stayed longer and will definitely return!!
- Tim (10/5): Great house, great host and perfect family trip. Will definitely be back. - It was the perfect size for our family and the house was fully equipped. Nothing

- Lyndsey (10/5): Exceptional - The house was extremely comfortable with plenty of space. And very clean and tidy. The host was lovely and came and run through everything the night we arrived and was so friendly and helpful.
Beds where very comfortable and we all had a great sleep.
The pool table was a real hit with the small boys and the big boys lol
Would definitely recommend and would have no issues staying again.
- William (10/5): Beautiful property - We booked this property for 7 adults, we had a great time, there was everything there that we needed and it's a great location, everything was in walking distance. Would definitely recommend and we will book again 😍
- Will (10/5): Friendly owner, great house, perfect location. - We booked with Jon last minute due to a mix up with another booking, and we are so glad that it worked out the way it did. Jon was there to greet us on arrival. He was very pleasant, and gave all the info we needed for the house, but also for good places to eat and visit in Ballycastle and beyond. Couldn't ask for more from him. The house was brilliant. We had 4 adults and 7 children, and there was loads of room for everyone. The facilities were very clean, and the house was well equipped. The pool table went down a treat with the kids (and adults lol). There are several bars, and takeaway's close at hand, and a well-equipped spar just across the road. Nice to not have to drive everywhere for food and bits and pieces. Overall a really pleasant stay. Would 100% book this house again, and recommend to anyone looking for a base on the north coast. No complaints.
- Jason (10/5): Great stay. Had everything we needed. Pool table was an added bonus. - Loved it. Thanks
