Guest Reviews
- Kathleen (9/5): Apartment with Great View of the Lake.
Hi - The view was incredibly beautiful and to be able to sit out on the balcony was wonderful. Living room,/kitchen are light and airy;being able to open the french doors in the morning and see the lake right across the street! Quiet, excellent location across from the boat dock and a very short walk to the old town/piazza Cadori with shops, restaurants, grocer, pastries, fruits and vegetables. Large bathtub with rain shower, ample supply of towels; instant hot water. Up one flight of stairs. The hostess responded to my needs. Kitchen had limited counter space and limited utensils. Directions for arriving from the train station were unclear.
- Willem (8/5): We enjoyed our stay - Good location. Reasonably priced. Wonderful view across the street and over the lake. Small but nice and useful balcony. Fans worked well and was necessary in the heat. Some things need to be fixed
- Anonymous (8/5): Great value with panoramic lake views - Best location!!!
- Oksana (7/5): That's ok - The location of the apartment is great, the ferry across the street, the train station is a 15-minute walk, the parking lot is opposite the apartment, but the parking lot is often full.
The apartment is spacious, there were enough towels. The biggest advantage of the apartment is the view from the balcony. The mattress on the main bed is mediocre.
The apartment really needs some improvements. The chairs on the balcony were written about in the reviews a year ago, and they still have holes. I was unpleasantly surprised by the savings on soap: it's not soap, but soapy water diluted 1:10, the same with dishwashing liquid.
We had to leave the trash after the previous residents. There was no iron. There is everything, even a vacuum cleaner, but no iron. The toilet seat needs to be replaced, it's obviously not the right size, it slides all the time, it's unpleasant and uncomfortable. Also, the sound insulation is poor, you can hear the noise from the corridor and from the neighbors above.
You must write to the apartment owner in advance and arrange your arrival; there is no key safe or self-check-in.
- Sharyn (8/5): Would recommend! - Location, balcony, view! A little maintenance needed. The balcony chairs were broken and some of the power points are a bit dodgy!
- Phyllis (9/5): Superb - Good location, lake view. Plenty of restaurants, bars and shops.
- Kathleen (8/5): The property was very spacious and clean missing air conditioning and also no where to leave luggage if you have a late - Location was excellent and the space was amazing It would be an amazing stay if we had air conditioning we had a fan in the apartment but it was very hot and was not as effective as air conditioning
- Nicola (10/5): Beautiful, as ever! - Amazing location, beautiful apartment and balcony. Have stayed previously and it is always exceptional. Thank you to the lovely staff!! Nothing!!
- Kathleen (7/5): Good size apartment, great location - need maintenance. - Mother and daughter - we stayed four nights - a good amount of time to stay in Stresa.
Great location, opposite the ferry and tourist information centre - on the main road.
The windows do a great job of blocking out street noise.
Fabulous views across the lake and mountains from the kitchen/living area windows and doors.
Friendly proprietor.
Spacious apartment with a few seating options.
Some lovely touches throughout the apartment and it was mostly comfortable.
Bed and bathroom linen was clean and fresh.
Whole apartment was clean.
Plenty of hot water in the shower.
Bathroom was a good size for two to share. Difficult to find the property.
The street number was incorrect - it’s 6, not 8.
People need to be told it’s up an alleyway (next to the wonderful Cafe Savoy - great coffee!).
There was no name of the accommodation on the entry door to the building. We had to contact the proprietor and wait for her to
arrive.
We requested an iron, but proprietor did not have one for us to use. It’s a basic amenity in an apartment.
Overall, the apartment needs some maintenance, which is why we gave it a lower score.
The toilet seat is not set straight and moves. One ends up sitting partly on the porcelain bowl underneath it.
There are many power-points, but which ones to use? Mostly none of them seem to work. I’m glad I brought two different size adaptors - thinner and thicker prongs.
Electrical cords run haphazardly around the master bedroom wall, door and bedside table.
The bottom sheet on the master bedroom bed did not cover the mattress on either side, so the sheet crept across the bed overnight, uncomfortably scrunching up.
More pillows are needed as they are very flat.
Lots of noise at night from the apartment above. Mainly heavy footsteps across their floor. Their flushing toilet was as loud as ours in the bathroom next to the master bedroom, which was disturbing overnight.
The kitchen hot plate was missing a knob, rendering one hob unusable.
The kitchen is in need of a compete update.
- Deborah (9/5): it was a good location. - It was easy to collect the keys from the owner, and it was a good location. It was easy to collect the keys from the owner, but would have liked to check in earlier, as it was raining and we had luggage, so it would have been nice just to drop the luggage off.
- Nicola (10/5): Perfect holiday, perfect apartment, certainly hope to return soon!! - We had everything we could possibly need, with fantastic views and a clean, spacious apartment. Couldn’t fault a thing. Nothing!!
- Ferne (9/5): Superb - Great location. Great size. Hostess was lovely and accommodating.
- Katyayani (10/5): Wonderful. Will visit again. - Everything. The location is excellent. The view is incredible.
- Alastair (10/5): Exceptional -
- Miyako (9/5): Fabulous view and unbeatable location - Overlooking Lake Maggiore, this property has an incomparable view of the lake and surrounding mountains. It is close to all the Stresa shops and restaurants. The apartment itself is well-equipped with appliances such as a coffee maker and washing machine. The host was very responsive to our questions and requests. She was also very accommodating when we needed to extend our stay. A cloth for drying dishes could have been helpful. An iron and ironing board would add to the convenience of a longer stay.
