- Margaret (7/5): People very friendly and helpful. It was expected for the price. - No breakfast available The kettle and the taps were a challenge for me to use. The kettle emitted water and would have helped to have instructions as I have never seen one like that before. The tap was sensor operated and I found it hard to fill my drinking bottle and kettle. Then I noticed the jug to keep water flowing
- Peter (9/5): -
- Beaumont (9/5): Great place to stay for an overnight stop - Loved the location, 5 mins walk to the town centre
The bar was great too, with a wide choice of drinks too choose from
- Paul (8/5): - Staff were super friendly and helpfull. The room was exactly as described and they even put up a zedbed as we were staying with our 3 Children. If there was some specific Parking, but I understand there is not alot they can do about this.

- Clive (7/5): The Reindeer was very good and exactly what I was looking for. - The room was small but clean & tidy & well presented.
- James (6/5): Fair to average - Not comment No comment
- Andrew (10/5): Meat all my requirements and more - Old fashioned grade 2 listed, sympathetically converted for accommodation Very pleasant staff and friendly locals
- Lynne (8/5): -
- S (7/5): Location was perfect as dropping Son off to nearby University. - Great location. Owner was lovely and very welcoming Very basic, but clean. Beds were old and could do with upgrade as bases were squeaky and mattresses very soft. Guess the location commands the price but felt was overpriced for what we got.
- Danny (10/5): -
- Connet (8/5): Ideal situation. Very welcoming. Excellent staff and service - It was ideal for me N/A
- Suzanne (8/5): Clean rooms in a great location - Great location, clean rooms with all of the facilities needed. Really easy for a one night stay in Southwell. The small double room at the front of the property was a little cold overnight (but it was January!).
- Jacqueline (8/5): -
- Morrison (2/5): This place is charging the same or similar to other places in the town. It’s the furthest away from the centre and the w - Very very dated, you have to come through a big gate around the back of the pub to a door that is open 24 hours (anyone can walk in) then through a fire/ emergency exit door again open all night to get to your room .Not very secure!!. Someone came while it was still dark early morning rolling beer barrels around and clanging making a proper loud noise for about half an hour . The bed was very old creaky and mattress wasn’t great. Bathroom was the smallest I’ve ever been in.
- Stephen (9/5): - Good Nothing

- Rowlatt (6/5): Fine for an overnight stay. - I knew it was a small room, but I hadn't expected a small bed (4' double)
- Helen (10/5): -
- Martin (10/5): - It’s just down the road from Brackenhurst where our family member studies
- Stuart (8/5): We spent hardly any time at the accommodation but from what we saw and used it was fine. -
- Fred (9/5): Very good -
- Ross (10/5): Excellent value for money. Nice host. Clean and comfortable. -
- Nigel (8/5): The accommodation suited me very well for my one-night stay and parking was easy. - Great central location. Very comfortable bed and good shower. It was much quieter than expected as the room as I was given was directly over the dart board! The sash window was halfway down and looked like it had not been closed for years. There was an interior window but it did not shut out much noise from cars going past on the street. The room could have been warmer on arrival.
- Norman (9/5): Great comfortable, good value accommodation for my short stay. Half the price of some other places. - The warm cosy room, [ no.3 ], the helpful staff who let me leave my bag early in the day for later check-in, some of the hi-tech gadgets in the room, like the kettle, and sink-tap operating by sensor, the trays supplied to cope with drips and spills, the generous provision of biscuit, tea and coffee-making facilities, the peace and quiet and good night's sleep, the bright lighting and quiet shower room,. the keybox for checkout. Would have liked breakfast, and I'm sure it was my incompetence, but just could not fathom how to get the shower working.
- wayne (1/5): Filthy - Room was filthy horrible sticky drink marks all over the bedside tables
Bathroom full of pubes

- Ann (10/5): - I rated this accommodation highly because it delivered exactly what it promised. This is by no means luxury accommodation and it doesn’t pretend to be. The room was basic but entirely adequate, it was spotlessly clean and the bed was comfortable. I only stayed for one night and if I was staying for a short visit I would book again . Nothing really
- Wagna (10/5): -
- bernadette (7/5): -
- Sean (10/5): Great place to stay in a lovely location - Quaint. Friendly staff and regulars. There’s a park one minute away for the dog to have a run. Nothing

- Denise dos (9/5): But very closed to all amenities - It’s ok for a night stay The room it’s very dark
- Amanda (9/5): Stayed for one night , really lovely quaint little rooms , good location and quiet . - The room although small had everything we wanted and was very unique , the fan in the room was a nice bonus and very welcome . Checkout was easy , just had to leave keys in a box . The double bed although comfortable was a little on the small side but appreciate space was limited .
- teresa (8/5): - The room was nice and clean. We over looked the beer garden but went quiet by 11pm. The beer garden was a welcoming outside space. Nothing really, it's how you see in the photos.
- Candice (10/5): Staff were very friendly and informative. Room clean and comfy bed. -
- Jacqueline (8/5): I like staying at the reindeer with friendly staff who allow me to come and go . - Could have done with a hair dryer in my room - but I suspect if I had asked you would have provided me with one !I
- Linda (9/5): Superb -
- Brian (1/5): Bad -
- Natasha (8/5): Very good -
- Matt (8/5): Very good -
- Nathan (7/5): Good -
- Harris (6/5): The accommodation was satisfactory - Breakfast was not provided. the lighting in the shower room is not adequate. It was disappointing that the wifi was not functioning.
- Paul (5/5): Passable -
- Martin (10/5): Exceptional -
- Robert (7/5): Inexpensive room in Southwell. - The bed was comfortable.
As the room is above a pub it was quiet after about 9.30 so able to have a reasonable nights sleep. The shower pressure was poor.
Only street parking on a busy road so not ideal.
- Melvyn (7/5): Good -
- Andrew (6/5): Pleasant -
- Maria (10/5): Marvellous!! - Excellent, very comfortable. Would absolutely stay again. Nothing!
- Michael (10/5): N - The pub was lovely with a nice beer garden, two minutes to twin towers cathedral and five minutes to market square, very picturesque. No problem
- Julie (8/5): Excellent stay at the Reindeer in Southwell 😊 - Beautiful location, lovely atmosphere excellent kind staff.
Nice room.
I would definitely recommend and would stay again 😊 There was nothing I didn't like , other than that i would've liked a wider bed maybe the size of a queen size
- Sarah (10/5): Exceptional - Location was good. It's a pub so easy to get drinks and food! Breakfast wasn't an option I don't think. Friendly staff. Room was comfortable and clean.
- Lynne (6/5): Lovely city - Friendly host, good location Uncomfortable bed more suited to student accommodation. Bed linen/pillows smelt. Towels were very scratchy.
- Pritchard (5/5): Passable - It was a convenient location. Basic accomodation, clean and acceptable. I only saw 2 members of staff briefly and had to leave via the back door putting my key in a box.
- Geoffrey (3/5): £94 plus £12 for pet. Way too expensive for what is low budget accommodation. Food was awful bland . - . Just the beer Too expensive for what can only be described as Hostel type accommodation
- Travelin' (7/5): You get what you pay for, cheapest in Southwell by far. - Hot shower, clean bed linen. Noise from customers leaving the pub, however, it's a pub. Low ceilings.
- Burtonshaw (7/5): Overall pleased with the accomadation, we were only sleeping in the room for one night. - Very clean Dated furniture.
Steep narrow stairs.
- Alex (7/5): Good - No meals provided but helpful staff and good room.
- Oldershaw (7/5): Nice to stay in a proper pub -
- Josh (8/5): Very good -
- David (9/5): Just the job - Great location, friendly staff
- Lee (9/5): Superb -
- Chris (8/5): Very good -
- Paul (1/5): I didn't - I couldn't gain access to the property I called them twice and have since emailed them to seek an explanation. It looked as though the accommodation was closed for business
- Dan (9/5): Superb -
- Andrew (7/5): Just what I needed. -
- Kevin (8/5): Very good -
- Rhiannon (8/5): Very good -
- Alison (7/5): Great for an overnight stay in Southwell. - This was an ideal place for an overnight stay when working in Southwell. The staff were very accommodating and the room was very clean, with a modern bathroom. Parking was easily found on the road outside and (without mentioning my mobility issues) I was offered help to take my bags up to my room.
My only criticisms are that the WiFi was not fully reliable and the choice of lighting in the room was limited. The ‘guide’ on the TV was not available but there were many channels to choose from.
I would definitely consider staying here again if I happen to visit the area for work in the future.
- David (10/5): Exceptional - Excellent value for money lovely village room perfect would recommend reindeer accommodation.
- Michele (8/5): Very good -
