- Jane (10/5): Beautiful, peaceful retreat in the Omagh countryside. - Tanya was a wonderful host (the best!). The Goldernhill Gueathous has a fanstistic view of the contryside. It's a bit out of town, so it's very peaceful and quiest. The beskfasts are fresh and delicious. Next time we visit we are going to get the rook=m with the balcony. It's bigger. Our room was a bit small.

- Winifred (10/5): Clean, comfortable B&B with welcoming host, great views and generous breakfast. - This is a lovely B&B near Omagh, Northern Ireland that enjoys a fabulous view over the countryside below. As other reviewers have said, Tanya (the proprietor) is a very friendly and welcoming host and provides a splendid breakfast (we stayed three nights and I went for the ‘big breakfast’, a big Irish breakfast, every time) and good conversation.
The rooms are very clean and comfortable (we occupied three of the four rooms available). We would highly recommend a stay here ... and we'll be back one day! Nothing.

- Declan (10/5): A refreshing and moat enjoyable stop in the Omagh countryside - Tanya, our hostess, was delightful. Full of friendly warmth, a great conversationalist, and if I may say so, quite charming. She also I puts on a great breakfast. The "full Irish" was excellent. The beds were very comfortable and the property was dead quiet for sleeping. Bathroom was well appointed and the entire house was spotless. There is a very fine guest lounge with comfortable seating and even a pool table. Over all, very much recommended. Nothing really. It is a bit remote but if we ever pass through the Omagh region again we will surely stay there.

- Christine (9/5): Superb - Peaceful, quiet location. Host was exceptional. She greeted us and spent time chatting to us about our plans for our stay. She gave us a map of the town and marked various places where we could get dinner. She also advised where we could charge our car. Room was spacious and absolutely spotless. Breakfast was delicious. Would definitely recommend! Decor slightly dated but that didn't take anything away from the fabulous stay we had!!
- Róisín (10/5): A very friendly and helpful host made our stay a most enjoyable one. - Good choices available, had full Irish and a poached egg cooked to perfection. As much toast and tea /coffee as desired available. Nothing really occurs to me

- Colin (9/5): Stunning location and a lovely host. Awesome breakfasts to set you up for the rest of the day. - stunning location with amazing views. There was a good choice of breakfast items with especially prepared yogurts, tea, coffee, fruit juice and toast. Attentive and welcoming host which makes a world of a difference. I had a single bed in a twin room which was fine for my needs, and I found the room very comfortable and clean.
When I'm working in the area again I will definitely stay there if there's space. The shower would benefit from a bit more pressure.

- Jonathan (9/5): Super views over country. Comfortable and clean - Tanya was very friendly and helpful. Great breakfast with lots of choices. Weak shower.
- Stewart (10/5): Warm welcome. Fabulous location. Comfortable facilities. Magnificent breakfast. A treasure. - Everything went well. From booking, to the warm welcome; the comfort of our room; the idyllic location enhanced by magnificent September weather and a tasty breakfast. We experienced Tanya as a thoughtful, considerate, warm and welcoming host. We felt at ease and valued in her presence. Looking at the price scheduling framed in her lobby, we discovered that Tanya had undercharged us for the facilities we accessed and so we were delighted enough to redress the balance.
We would highly recommend a stay for all travellers who enjoy the Northern Ireland countryside. We can see why Tanya would like to see a return of those who love to tour whether by car, bicycle or motorbike or just lovers of beautiful scenery, as happened pre-pandemic. Golden Hill Guest House was one of the top highlights of our NI and Donegal tour. The fundamental experience was in our view unimpeachable, so these comments are to guide potential clients with specific needs:
a) we were the only guests so enjoyed additional exclusivity when we stayed. We can’t therefore comment on the response to a full house scenario
b) we were aware of the prospect of negotiating stairs from the excellent booking info and indeed all bedrooms seemed to be upstairs (breakfast ground floor). However anyone with mobility problems might need to consider this question. We had a couple of sizeable suitcases and so we were conscious of taking extra care up a standard gauge staircase without banging suitcases against Tanya’s beautifully kept decor.
c) Access to the property was via a longish mainly single track road off the main road south of Omagh, which had a small but significant traffic when we were there. Some drivers uncomfortable on such roads might wish to bear in mind our experience that native drivers seemed to enjoy let’s say a cavalier approach to speed control for our comfort. The same road seems to be reasonably well surfaced, though the small turnoff to Tanya’s property (c50m from memory) is in effect an unsurfaced farm road on a slope with some ‘potholes’ to negotiate. We had dry weather and an SUV so no big deal for us. The other car at the property (assumed belonged to Tanya) had an estate / saloon appearance so probably not a big issue overall, but not ideal for low lying sports vehicles in wet weather I would have thought.
Again, I would stress, we were well informed and prepared for such experiences….they did not detract in any way from the sheer pleasure evoked by Tanya and the Golden Hill Guest House in stunning Northern Ireland.
- Marshall (10/5): Exceptional - The views, very friendly, the breakfast was something special, not typical Irish. Very clean with beautiful colourful tapestry framed pictures. Nothing
- Lyn (10/5): Would stay again in a heartbeat. Don’t miss the opportunity to stay here! - Tatyana is an amazing host. Her culinary skills for breakfast are exceptional. We wish we could have stayed a whole week! The views from the property in the morning are beautifully pastoral. There is such a peace and tranquility here. It was easy to find with a large paved parking area right outside the door. This is your home away from home. The water pressure was adequate but not the strongest you’ll find. This is the ONLY thing that could have been improved but by no means takes away from the incredibleness of our stay.
- Derek (10/5): Exceptional -

- Francis (9/5): Superb - Hostess was lovely and really helpful. Great views. Location was remote.
