It is a great spot for families - loads to keep the kids amused. The boardwalk is very impressive. We enjoyed exploring nature. Overall we had a wonderful holiday! There isn’t much around which makes it extra private but you need to drive to get dinner or supplies.

- Greg (10/5): Great house, great owners and hosts....Worth considering if at an looking at Oak Beach stay. - Stayed for 5 days just wife and I. Great comms from the owners in lead up to stay re what's what with the house re facilities, grounds, location attractions etc. Could not have asked for more and responded quickly to any questions I had. House is fab for a couple, small family (6 max) without need for cottage (which I didn't inspect). Located just off the road, the grounds are amazingly well kept and laid out, Great pool (and pool toys) and deck / outdoor entertaining area. Owners provided plenty of mozzie coils and bug candle which in FNQ you need but that's life. What you see in the pictures is what you get. I lovely place to spend time and not see anyone else around. Bliss. Perfect location for larger family group to use both house and cottage and not disturb the neighbours.
- Gregg (10/5): This is a place worth revisiting many many times. Stay there: You will not be disappointed. - Proximity to Port Douglas. Seclusion off the main highway. The grounds, the beach, the walkways & trails, the viewing decks. The landscaping. The overall ambiance of the place, like an estate all to ourselves. The pool. The "Toy Shed". The kitchen and its accoutrements. The air conditionings and the overhead fans to spread the cool air. The big screen TV. The welcoming binder of local knowledge. And, best of all, the help of the Hosts in advising us around their neighborhood and its surroundings before and during our stay. Thank you very much! Nothing not to like. We had to be aware of bugs at dusk thru the windows, but so what? We had to cajole the washer/ dryer along, but big deal. There was nothing not to like.
- Suzanne (9/5): A wonderful stay - a lovely house in an absolutely stunning location. - Cottonwood is a lovely house in a stunning location. The grounds are beautiful and lead right down to the water's edge. The house has everything we needed for a comfortable week-long stay. Hosts Jenny and David were super helpful when we encountered a glitch with the smart TV and had a technician there first thing next morning. Most days we stayed at the house, walked on the beach and swam in the pool. It was hard to leave. We found the local geckos - a fact of life in the tropical far north - bit disconcerting.
