Guest Reviews
- Michael (10/5): - Helpful owners. Won't get a better place to stay in the area
- montaño iguaran (10/5): - Se siente como si estuvieses en casa 🏡
- Christel (9/5): Superb - If you are looking for a family hostel, where you can feel at home in a Colombian family, this is your place. The hostel is close to the main road, but not noisy. It's low key, relaxed and they can organize an agreeable tour to the Flamingo's for you with a young Wayuu guide named Raphael. I enjoyed the tour as a whole, in a traditional boat, maybe even more than seeing the birds (from quite a distance). It's an unexplored interesting area for curious travellers like me.
- Jaden (10/5): Exceptional - The locals who run this hotel were amazing! I needed a yellow fever vaccine and don't speak Spanish and my host did everything to get me help in riohacha. They also helped organize a boat tour and waited with me for the bus when I left. Food was the best I had, ac was great and the property was very nice
- Casey (10/5): Comfortable home-style stay with yummy restaurant. - I felt so welcomed by the family who runs this place, the food in the restaurant was lovely, the host helped me organize tours and they went out of their way to make my trip memorable.
The room was clean, comfortable and it was a nice bonus to have tv!
I really loved my stay here! It was all wonderful!
- Silvan (8/5): Very good - The bed needed a little adjusting, slight tilt to one side. Mentioned it to the owner, to make sure it will be improved. The guesthouse is a family style arrangement.
The Owner is quite knowledgeable in many ways, hooked me up with tow birding tours too. Worth the money! Bed needed some adjusting. There is no hot water, it is as it comes out of the holding tank. Considering the day time temperatures, not something to worry about.
- Heather (10/5): Exceptional - A family run hotel at the edge of town. They could not have been more helpful, with coffee on arrival and information about shops and sight seeing. The family were very friendly. Their son runs trips to see the flamingos if you want. The room was comfortable and there was tv, aircon if you wanted it and hammocks to swing in.
- Barbara (10/5): Exceptional - The hosts were incredibly nice and helpful. They organized a guide to the sanctuary of flamingos and cooked lunch for me. The room was very clean, with a huge and comfortable bed. And the location is super convenient - if you travel solo using local transportation, the place is very close to the main road, you don't need to walk far away to the village.
- Nathan (10/5): Exceptional - Small family run hotel. One of the nicest places we stayed on a 10 day trip to Colombia. Always felt safe and very kind hosts. We are young Canadians here for birding so the hotel offered a great boat tour for the flamingos.
- Kristina (10/5): Exceptional - Ruth and her family are exceptional hosts and fantastic cooks
Her son is a local guide and knowledgeable of the area he can bring you on any tour your looking for
Very helpful and accommodating
- Tim (10/5): Great place to relax and see the flamingos - The family running the place is very open and friendly, the food is delicious and it's super close to the reserve where Dario can take you to find the flamingos. Great stay! Nothing
- Andreas (10/5): Amazing family friendly place - Really nice host family, treating us amazingly. AC would be great but it is planned for July/August 2023
- Margherita (10/5): Exceptional - Family run hotel, and you really feel part of the family. Very kind people.
The location is close to the main road, but it is quiet.
To get to the flamingo lagoon, a short motorbike passage is needed, but the owners are very helpful, and they can arrange it.
- Jenny (10/5): Exceptional -
