- Hermann (7/5): Schönes Hotel, ruhig und abgelegen - Ideal für Ruhe und Erholung. Wir hatten ein super Zimmer, Panorama Blick auf das Dörfchen und das Meer mit Sonnenuntergang Genuss. Es gibt auch einen herrlichen Garten, eine Holzbrücke über einen Fischteich, sehr romantisch. Das buchbare Privat-Onsen, toll. Es ist sehr abgelegen, man hat seine Ruhe und kann die Auszeit wirklich geniessen. Es gibt keine Taxis im Dorf und es ist auch schwer, ein Taxi zu bestellen, Uber hat uns hingebracht, aber abgeholt zu werden hat nicht geklappt, wir haben dann einen Privatchauffeur mit Auto gemietet und diesen für unsere restliche Reise behalten. Das Hotel sollte in Minimum Fahrräder zur Verfügung stellen, um das Dorf und Gegend zu erkunden. Das Hotel ist sehr schön, es hat aber viele Treppenstufen, da wäre es sehr angebracht den Gästen die Koffer zum Zimmer zu tragen und auch persönlich zeigen wo das Zimmer ist, denn das Hotel ist recht verwinkelt.

- Bradley (10/5): Gorgeous sunset, nature onsen views, kind staff. - Although the staff had limited English, they were very accomodating for any requests. We stayed in the Seaview room after getting lucky with an upgrade and the view is well worth the money. Sunset covers the sky in a beautiful pink glow. The private and public baths were both very clean with great water temp, view and amenities. Location is great with parking nearby and restaurants quite close. Would definitely stay again! Look to come back in summertime to make use of the coast for a swim. A bit of a walk to get to our room from the front desk but it is a beautiful path so we didn’t mind.

Staff were very friendly, and we were able to easily book private/family Onsen during our stay without a wait, which we appreciated a lot as we aren’t big planners! It was very peaceful and clean. I enjoyed being able to hear the sound of crickets and being able to go onto the balcony of our room. It was a short walk to the seaside and felt like a very safe area. We hired a car so we were able to explore all around Izu from where we were :) we would absolutely stay again! The pillows were a bit hard but aside from this everything was perfect!

- MICAEL (1/5): RUN AWAY - AVOID AT ALL COSTS - Nothing as never stayed there and the manager refuses to reimburse us. THIS PLACE IS A SCAM - AVOID AT ALL COST! I don’t give a 0 because it is not possible. Get ready to be scammed if you book this on booking.com under the name of Shakahijiri Gyokushoen! They name it complex to understand to trick people. When you book on booking on this hotel (which is market as a 4 start) and if you chose one of the cheapest room options, you will be assigned to a part of the property that has conditions of a 2 start hotel - which is it. They claim that is is now a 4 start hotel because they have a new building… but you don’t get to that building if you don’t book some of the most expensive room options. We never stayed here, we refused to stay, we raised a free cancellation requested to booking and the property refused. I feel they use all this names and complexity to make it easy to scam people. You will see that you don’t find this Shakahijiri Gyokushoen on google maps. Sadly this was the worst moment of my stay in Japan. Don’t come here

Есть общественные онсэны для мужчин и женщин, также можно за доплату заказать на 45 минут приватный онсэн. Очень красивая территория, сад, прудик с карпами Достаточно сложно с транспортным сообщением, ходят только автобусы, более того, с некоторых направлений они перестают ходить в 16:30

Expensive and barely edible. Better food, especially for the price--it doubled the cost of our stay--and more towels. We each had one thin towel to use per night.

- Tanjim (3/5): Poorly maintained property, please beware of misleading photos - Nil Private onsen requires additional ¥2200 which we were not informed of, until we were just about to check out. The property is incredibly run-down and poorly maintained, tiles are falling apart, the shoji is torn, there is mould everywhere. The room will be filled with spiders and an assortment of critters during the summer. The onsen is also poorly maintained and feels icky at times The receptionist was also rude during check-out There is inadequate parking at the property and the car will need to be parked away from the property Overall, the photos are very misleading and highly touched up.

Having the option of a hot tub in the room itself gave an opportunity to spend more time sightseeing in the area. Food in the ryokan was absolutely great. The town is slightly remote and if you don't book dinner/breakfast there, it might be difficult to find alternatives.

We were happy with the size of the property and the Nespresso coffee maker & pods. The property had no garden view as advertised. Any views were obstructed by a hedge. This added to how dark it was inside. The private hot pool was nowhere near hot enough. It was noisy early in the morning.

- Mary (9/5): A wonderful place to go to relax and leave any stress behind. - Getting to the hotel was an adventure in itself. It took 6 hours from Yokosuka with 4 train transfers and a 45 minute bus ride. The trains don't go to the the west side of the Izu Peninsula or at least we never figured one out. Luckily the bus stop was just down the street from the hotel. Our check-in was a little bumpy at first. I think they have a new person at the front desk. Once we had our room, the rest of the time was great. We opted for the dinner and breakfast which is a little pricey, but so worth it. The food was amazing. They deliver it to your room, set it all up and let you enjoy it all privately. Our room came with a large private onsen. The water was hot and the sounds of the trickling water made it all so relaxing! Just a FYI, the hotel stocks the refer with beverages to purchase (soda, beer, sake, and water). The water is not free as it is in some hotels. They also charged me ¥500 for a bucket of ice. All in all, still a great place to stay.
- Allan (9/5): Comfortable and traditionnal hotel. - Traditional hotel with a very nice onsen. Plenty of space in our room and very comfortable. Sound proofing of the room and light proofing could be improve but this is a traditional room style so we were aware of that beforehand.

- Jorge (3/5): Poor - the resort itself was small but the room was spacious, comfortable and clean there was a family above me with children( between 8-10 yrs old) who were constantly running and stomping, I complained multiple times and the staff was not able to do anything about it, i eventually had to go myself to bang down their door and tell them to keep quiet, paid over $1600 US for a 2 night stay that was completely ruined by this

I hadn't bought any souvenirs from the hotel i stayed, but this ryokan made me open my extra wallet! I'm looking forward to coming back someday! Nothing. It was perfect!

- Pao (10/5): Memorable Christmas time with exceptional beautiful surroundings and wonderful experiences! - The meals being served was exceptional traditional Japanese cuisine with local fresh seafood. The location is in West Izu where many scenic coastlines like Dogashima Cave cruising, Lover Cape, Koganezaki Park for Sunset etc. We have really great experiences with this stay. The hot spring was amazing! The staffs also made us feel like home. The hotel can do some carpet renew or painting work to keep the property in newness.
- Pauline (8/5): Experience Japanese life in Izu - This is a Japanese style hotel, and all facilities are bit old, no elevator as well, but this hotel looks very nice, especially their beautiful garden area. All staffs are very friendly, and their hot tub is pretty awesome too. It can let me totally relaxed and enjoyed. The location is far from the center of Izu, but you can still walk around the park, the ocean and the restaurant too. I like this area because of their quiet, beautiful and original too. Please show us an information on booking.com if we need to book a breakfast with hotel package.
- Alan (10/5): Amazing Experience and we will come back again! - It's my first time commenting on my experience with booking. That was an amazing experience. We had been arranged on the top floor with an amazing view of the sea when we arrived, we just saw the beautiful sunset, and we were treated as VIP. The employees were so nice in introducing everything to us. The serve-in dining is a MUST-TRY option, although it's not cheap, the food is really good and luxurious. We can keep the privacy by having our dining in the room. We chose both the dinner on the arrival date and the breakfast on the following day, please trust me, it will impress you. The room fee includes a one-time Spring privacy reservation, you will have 45 minutes to enjoy the Japanese traditional style Spiring, but of course, you can still enjoy the spring in your room, too. Everything is quite perfect.

- Aleksandra (7/5): Staff at the facility were fantastic; helpful, kind, and intuitive to our needs. - Grounds of the property are beautiful. Gorgeous garden, with adorable bridge, just lovely. The room I was able to book through booking was traditional (we love it!), huge (we appreciate it), and very outdated with a musty smell in it. Great value… but I would definitely give up some square footage to not have a smelly bathroom. Also, the picture association with the room is clearly not from this room.

Hot water in the room comes after 20 minutes is open and there is nowhere to hang the shower nozzle above the hip hight. Also there is nothing to do around, u have to drive 1 hour. I suggest to stay more south of the peninsula. 140€ per night plus onsen tax when you leave 🥲
- Lexistyle (10/5): Perfect, no complaints. - This place was AMAZING. I very nearly have nothing negative to say about this property. We paid a good price for a garden view room that had an open air onsen ensuite that was beyond our expectations. I wish I took more photos of the room itself but we were pleasantly surprised at how large the room was. It had beautiful tatami floors, two full sized beds that were the most comfortable beds we laid in. They had two TVs in the room that also had services like youtube, netflix, amazon prime & so many more (you do have to use your own subscription and login to access these services). The onsen was always hot and ready to use. The shower was easy to use and had different shower heads available for use. They had different options for Yukatas that we could wear after we bathed and the dinner services were large and delicious. Some of the food options were adventurous for a westerner but they were all well-made. Just make sure to reserve the dinner service at least 2 days in advance with the property. We also enjoyed a Kaiseki breakfast that was large but not too hearty so it was easy to eat and not feel too burdened by the amount throughout the day. There are grocery stores nearby that you can buy extra foods from and if you bring the items you want re-heated to the front desk they would be happy to re-heat it for you. They had staff that spoke English but even if they were unavailable the Japanese staff did their best with google translate. I would absolutely come to this Ryokan again the next time we stay in Toi.
