Guest Reviews
- AKHIL (10/5): Home far from home - Uncle Bernard and his family is very friendly There's nothing to dislike
- Anvitha (10/5): - The host was very friendly and welcoming. The stay also was very comfortable. It also had good connections to places around.
- S (8/5): -
- George (3/5): Cheating at its peak. - No breakfast was served, neither it was offered. The room was booked through booking.com where it has clearly mentioned that the facilities that are available & based on that i booked,on arrival he says it was a non Ac room booked & he demanded 400/- extra for AC ,it was a typical hidden charge & there is no parking facility & you have to park your car on the public road with no safety & that too in front of someone's house who objected, the commode at the base is leaking in a very small bathing room, blankets cheap road side one's,towel for two provided one (cheap one, dirty), no hygiene at all, very small room, the coffee cups provided must be atleast several years old &dirty, i don't know how the review it has got 4.6 all are manipulations no doubt. Not at all good,pl.prefer hotels not home stays.
- Vamshi (10/5): -
- Nandi (10/5): - Owners Nothing
- AKBAR (6/5): Good for low budget backpackers and hardy folk - We saw it and did not stay because of our back backs. We had one of the last rooms but am sure it is fine for mag people on a budget. Very basic bedroom equipment but price clearly signals what to expect.
- manisha (10/5): Great place for solo lady travelers - I did a solo travel to kochi for 4 days, I had booked a ground floor room, uncle Bernard and Sally aunty upgraded the room to a balcony room for free of cost. They treated me like a family. They even have Scooty options at a small cost. The atmosphere is good and also there are lots of plants, there’s also rooftop garden also. And the location is perfect from all locations.
- christine (3/5): -
- Mushrooms (10/5): - Very good experiences Nothing
- jon (10/5): -
- Shambhavi (10/5): Hosts are lovely couple — take good care of residents like their family. Highly recommended. -
- Sanjay (4/5): POOR DISAPPOINTING STAY. - Location is good . , 10 minutes walk to fort kochi beach and princess street. Well, i understand it's a homestays but I have stayed at many , many homestays throughout India and abroad. And it's NO excuse to say poor accommodation experience just because it's a home stay.
The bedrooms are very basic, almost budget style. I paid rS. 2100 a night, for what was ,as per the owner , his biggest room. Disappointing.
POOR quality of bed sheets , mattress, pillows and towels . Dirty quilts . VERY POOR
NO sound proofing. I could hear sounds from other rooms and even other bathrooms.
NO Privacy.
Curtains are just basic fabric hung on the windows with light coming through. Offer NO privacy.
Can be noisy, especially in the mornings with everyone from staff to owners speaking loudly with no sense / responsibility towards guest comfort and privacy.
*Owner seems like a rich man . I am sure he Can invest a bit to upgrade facilities , fittings and overall offer a better experience to the guest.
Note :: it's a BUDGET homestay with POOR charm and NO personalization.

- Vatsal (10/5): - We were a group of 15 people. We had stayed for 1 night, loved the stay and the host.
The rooms were spacious, clean and the AC was working very well.
Loved our stay here.

- Kim (9/5): We were able to upgrade to a room with AC after having an especially hot night of sleep. The team treated us well and ge - Very clean and comfortable, especially considering the cost.
- Luke (8/5): - Great place to meet other travellers very friendly and the building is from another era, places like this won't be around much longer. Zero
- Morin (10/5): I had a great time at DreamCatcher. Great location, hot water, and friendly staff. - My friend and I loved DreamCatcher! It has a very friendly and very “Fort Kochi” vibe. And the owners were super nice! There is also free coffee and tea.
- Javier (10/5): Buena experiencia . Volveremos.
- Guest (10/5): Uncle and aunty is very welcoming and friendly. - Very nice and peaceful place in fort kochi. Also, clean room and washrooms
- Ebin Peter (10/5): Value for money. - Very helpful host.

- Sreejith (10/5): - Nice place and clean rooms
- Anurag (10/5): Contact Uncle Bernard to explore Kochi - The stay was very comfortable. And Uncle Bernard is a way awesome guy. The price is also affordable.
- Arun (10/5): - Hosts are hospitable, if you have special request they can accommodate. Very friendly atmosphere.
- Guest (10/5): -
- Tanishq (10/5): Exceptional - Gracious host. Was provided a better room than what was booked for.
No mosquito issues. Was in a non-ac room as still was plenty sufficient.
All important areas are within walkable distance.
Host also provides bike rentals
Overall totally worth the price. Would recommend
- Vidya (10/5): Exceptional -
- Rajesh (10/5): Exceptional - Good hospitality and extension of time and stay.
- Matthew (10/5): Wonder full stay - Best owners
Good hospitality
Clean House Rooftop garden
- Sidney (8/5): Good location and friendly staff. - Friendly staff and good location. Lots of mosquitos in the room. First thing the host asked from us is to give a 10/10 review on booking.com before we even saw the room because we got a “free upgrade”. I feel as though that does not represent the hotel fairly. Overall the experience was still good.
- Gabrielle (7/5): Low price/quality ratio, well located accomodation - A very nice location, at the center of Fort Kochi and a welcoming family taking the time to discuss with the visitors. The homestay planned a taxi to pick us up at 4 am to go to the airport, and got us reduced tickets to go see some traditional martial arts and danses. Overall it is a nice place to stay in. The ratio price/service was lower than we expected considering other places we had stayed in India. The room was good but basic, and we didn’t have any air conditioning, which made our sleep complicated. We also had some mosquetoes in the room, which happens in this part of Kerala, but didn’t get any product against them despite asking for it. But the main disconfort for us was the recurring askings of the owner for us to put a 10/10 on Booking (not a 9/10, he would specify, but a 10/10) which made us feel pressured during our stay and made us understand why the homestay - while it still provides a good service - has such a great note on Booking.
- Haizea (2/5): Dirty rooms and unpleasant stay - The breakfast was very nice and the location is amazing The room's quality is very very poor, the spaces are dirty and small, not to mention the toilets. The rooms were never cleaned and toilets are very poor quality. The beds are dirty -do not look inside the pillow, it's disgusting- and they do not provide bedding sheets but an old blanket. You only have ceiling fan but not AC, and it's very noisy so it's hard to sleep. Honestly the cleaning is very bad and the rooms could be way better. The location is amazing and the building is very nice, especially the terrace to have breakfast there, but one could barely sleep.
- Rajesh (10/5): Exceptional -
- Lucie (7/5): Great location and price but some improvement is needed - Amazing location, very good price for a room. The owners were slightly intrusive and pushy. They do not provide bedsheets but blankets that they do not clean (not hygienic!). I also got severely bitten by mosquitoes and the bed wasn’t very comfortable in the cheapest rooms. I think you should upgrade if you stay there.
- Avishkar (10/5): Best place near fort Kochi - Amazing hospitality and cleanliness was top notch.
Very near to all the poi's with walkable distance. Owners were very helpful. Rooftop and garden was nice too. Orchids were delightful to watch. One can get scooty and bikes from here also. One of the best places to stay in Fort Kochi. Nothing as such.
- Suresh (10/5): Excellent stay - The hosts were wonderful people
- Sudipto (5/5): Can have better places for this money; experience ruined significantly by the owner's behavior. - Decent location within Fort Kochi, walking distance to the fort area (25 mins or so). Has some great eateries within walking distance, 10-15 mins. Love the local tea shop at the end of the alley. The complimentary coffee we were treated to by the owner was good, but makes for a funny story (I said "good estate coffee," owner asked how I know he owns an estate, which is NOT what I meant, lol). Room has air-conditioning, which is a relief. Communication with the owner (or rather the listed owner's husband, who runs the place when he's around) was kind of strained and awkward throughout. The man loves to brag, and is bordering on boorish in his 'friendliness'. Gives out information on other boarders without reason, which I did not appreciate at all. Some would call him colorful I guess, not me. Overpriced room (even considering the peak season when we visited) with basic facilities, cleanliness leaves much to be desired, and access is through a narrow alley (you have to walk with your luggage for about 70-80m). Not the worst place, but not the most pleasant experience either.
- Asma (10/5): Great experience - The host uncle was exceptional. He was very helpful. The place is close to all the major locations . It's a v affordable and nice place for stay in fort kochi Nil
- Emily (9/5): Superb - Beautiful building with plants everywhere, nice big area to chill out with a good view.
- Ellie (10/5): Exceptional - Comfortable and clean rooms in a good location with friendly owners. We would recommend
- Bharath (7/5): Good stay for those travel on public transport. - The stay is near to fort kochi at walkable distance. Food options nearby.
Room was clean and decent surrounding.
Hosts are very cool and friendly.
Air-conditioning was working well.
Good for short stay. We had travelled in a car. Parking is a little far and public parking on the roadside.
Carrying luggage is a problem. Safety of the car is another concern.
The room. Doesn't have a wardrobe or hanger to put used clothing or towel.
Unfortunately for us hot water was not available. They arranged a few buckets from outside.
The bath is very small.
Overall it was not suitable for our expectations.
Since i had already booked I didn't look at other option.
- Toby (10/5): Exceptional -
- Aryan (10/5): Exceptional - Host was very friendly and comfortable.
Our rooms were upgraded without cost.
- Sainudheen (10/5): Very best stay Best clean rooms Best wishes Best owner High very good hospitality He arranged and explained fully abou - Owner is very cooperative Easy to access
- Maisrudi (10/5): Exceptional - It was a very comfortable stay thanks to Uncle Saly and his wide experiences. He has guided us throughout our stay from where to go and how to go, how to reach, how to make our trip more economical. The rooms were also clean and big very comfortable for family stay.
- Ali (10/5): Exceptional - Mr. Bernard was a great host. Such a warm person. I would recomend DreamCatcher to all.
- Anju (10/5): Exceptional -
- Anna (10/5): Exceptional - Hospitality, friendliness
- Vegar (10/5): Exceptional -
- Mathew (10/5): Highly recommend! - My stay at Dreamcatcher was absolutely delightful. This is the 2nd time I'm staying with my family. The owner and his wife always go above and beyond to ensure everything is perfectly arranged for a comfortable and hassle-free stay. Their warmth and friendliness have always made us feel right at home from the moment you arrive. Tgis time we requested Owner to arrange the baywater trip,
kathakali dance and martial arts. Last time we liked the Ayurvedic massage treatment, so we requested it this time, too.
If you're someone like me who likes to do yoga early morning, their rooftop is the best for it! Their rooms and toilets are clean and tidy! Highly recommended for anyone looking for a welcoming and accommodating home away from home !
- Evil50 (10/5): Worth the money! - My friends and i planned for a kerala trip. We came across dreamcatcher based on the booking.com rating. we initially booked 2nights at dreamcatcher. The stay was calm and pleasant. The owner was very nice and helped us to plan our trip. The place is hardly 2kms from the beach and the museum. On the 2nd day we watched kathakali and left for backwaters in Alleppey. The rooms are clean. The rooftop is where the breakfast is served. You can give ur clothes for laundary also(extra charged) The location is near the police station so we felt safe and secure. Overall i would rate this place and the stay *****
- Lea (3/5): It was not good. - Good location. Room was not clean and very small. Service was not professional.

- Vishvakarma (1/5): Bad -
- Surya (9/5): Superb -

What i liked more they treated as like their family members , i never had this kind of experience before and especially i want to thank you saly aunty and her husband, we felt safe and secured with you last night and also for guiding us about the location, food , facilities and routes

We arrived at Dreamcatcher residency at 10 am. The owner Saly and her son Onix were incredible hosts! The residency is a 15-minute walk from the beach.
Beautifuly maintained old Portuguese house with clean rooms and hygienic en suite and private bathrooms!
The owners were very knowledgeable about the tourist places to visit and explained the rich cultural history of the place!
My son loved their exquisite garden of orchids! A well looked after place!
They gave us a high-speed internet connection so it was easy for us to contact our friends in the USA!
We highly appreciate their effort of keeping their guests happy! Thanks to the owner Saly and her son, for the wonderful experience!
We highly recommend this place!
