Guest Reviews
- Anita (8/5): -
- Andrzej (8/5): Ogólnie zadowolony - Obiekt obsługuje miła pani. Miejsce spokojne z dala od zgiełku ulicznego. Można wypocząć na tarasie. Dobre zaopatrzenie w napoje.

- Niki (5/5): - Reason for a lower rating:
* Bath room / toilet was lacking privacy (see-through sliding door which doesn't give any sound insulation either).
* The property reported us as no-show while we did stay and pay at the property. It was entirely up to us to stop Booking from taking money from our account. This was an utter hassle for which I also give bad points to Booking. Customer service with AirBnB is so much better!
* The info on Booking is outdated. The property doesn't offer breakfast (not a dealbreaker for us, but it should be updated)

- Irina (10/5): Ich habe mich sehr wohl gefühlt! - Sehr ruhige Lage. Die Menschen dort sind sehr nett und zuvorkommend.
- German (7/5): Not the best option for traveling with baby and toddlers due to the lack of kitchen and common areas. - The rooms were fine.
Easy parking
The garden and the pool were nice.
Nice view of forest and mountains. The common area could be use only during breakfast time.
The breakfast was quite limited.
No option for lunch or dinner on the pension.
No restaurant or supermarket nearby.
- Eszter (5/5): Pension good for a one night stay - Very nice area with a beautiful view. There is a bus stop within walking distance where you could catch a bus to Salzburg center. There is nothing, nor a restaurant nor a grocery shop within walking distance.
The host was correct but not really friendly, nothing of Austrian "Gemütlichkeit". We arrived at 1.00 p.m. but nobody was welcoming us, just a key waiting for us outside of the door.
Breakfast was very basic, vegetables and fruits were not fresh, a fellow guest had a yogurt that was off. The coffee machine was too small for commercial use needing constant assistance, but the host wasn't in the breakfast area, so we had to ask for help for several times.
There was a tiny sign just in German that eggs could be requested but nobody asked us or offerred eggs.
Half transparent door between bedroom and bathroom lacking privacy.
- Ihsanullah (10/5): Exceptional -
- Nguyễn (9/5): Superb -
- Martin (9/5): Superb -
- Wen-yu (9/5): Superb - The host is super friendly and makes me feel home! I was cold in the first night and I asked for extra blanket, they immediately add extra blankets for me. I didn't book breakfast in advance but it was very convenient to have breakfast there. And the breakfast was very remarkable and healthy. The location is good to mountains, hiking areas, and the city center as well. Easy to reach by public transportation and free parking for cars. Sometimes the wifi was not working for my devices. However, there was some issue with internet connect of my devices. It can be the problem of my devices.
- Manoj (7/5): Good - Location No laundry and good breakfast.
- Cristina (10/5): Exceptional -
- Yasamin (9/5): My second time here, would come again. - I like the location close to hills/the mountain (though further from the city). The host is very friendly, and accommodated my request for vegan breakfast- which is not something I expect in pensions like this. I had some issues with bugs/flies at night as I couldn't close the window because it was too warm. Also wifi wasn't working too well (but there was a TV and OK cell reception),
- Zoltán (9/5): Superb -
- Helen (9/5): Superb -
- Wahib (8/5): Very good -
- M (8/5): Very good - The Owner is very kind lady , I notified that will be late to check in & she left the key ready for me and my check in & reporting to my room was very smoothly, so nice of her !
- Ravish (10/5): Exceptional -
- Shu (9/5): I will use it again if I have a chance to visit Salzburg in future. - It’s a most peaceful location no noise at all. The bathroom is a bit inconvenient to use.
- Hogan (9/5): Superb - Nockstein is a beautiful country setting with wonderful hikes. It is a 25-minute bus ride into town, which costs €3.5 one way €6.5 return. The bus stop is only a 5 min walk down a pretty road & buses run frequently. It was lovely being in the countryside & away from Salsburg, which is a congested tourist town.
- Myriem (8/5): The host was incredibly nice. Welcoming and I will go back again. - The location was breathtaking, accessible but bus and away from the hustle and bustle of the city. By many hiking and bike routes/paths. No wifi … had ro rely on my G5 when in the room which was not a problem. But wifi would have been quicker :)
- Csaba (10/5): fantastic place - Location with a nice view, easily accessible even by public transport, comfortable rooms with a nice view, excellent and plentiful breakfast, very friendly staff.
- Tejada (10/5): Exceptional -
- Isabelle (8/5): Very good -
- Tomáš (9/5): Superb -
- Gerrie (5/5): Needs some work on the rooms. - Nice owners great location Rooms are very small bathroom is super tiny no place to hang out with our friends.
- Hariagus (9/5): Superb -
- Peter (6/5): Pleasant -
- Penelope (7/5): Good - Clean and friendly staff. The bathroom had a very bad smell.
- Paul (7/5): No wifi but a nice quiet location - Very quiet picturesque location No wifi. I would not have booked the room if I had known this before.
I owner showed no interest in resolving that there was no wifi
- Rajiv (6/5): Marvellous locale, indifferent host - Exceptionally beautiful location. 1. Wifi didn't work at all.
2. Material for tea/coffee and toletries (shampoo, body wash, body lotion) was grossly inadequate.
3. Host plainly refused help regarding wifi and was reluctant to help with other needs as mentioned in point 2, above.
- Martina (10/5): Exceptional - Lovely small hotel in a beautiful area with the best views. The owner was the nicest person, so friendly and nice. Will for sure come back and stay here when Im in Salzburg area.
- Chiara (9/5): Superb - Very friendly hostess. The stay was very familiar and nice, the location of the accommodation beautiful in nature. The city center was still close within 15 min by bus :-)
- Sarah (5/5): Ok if you want isolation. - Breakfast included a variety of items but some were left uncovered and there were quite a few flies around, which was off-putting. There was a pool, but due to the inclement weather, we did not use it. Bus stop a 10 minute walk away where you could catch a bus into Salzburg, which dropped you off right next to the Mirabell Gardens (Mirabellplatz). Parking available outside. Check in - key was outside in envelope but it wasn't clear that key also opened exterior door, so ended up ringing the bell to get the owner to come out as exterior door was locked.
On check in there was a full ash tray on balcony table- also a half drunk cup of coffee stood in the hallway for more than a day. Not pleasant.
Out of the way, nothing really withing walking distance (other than bus stop) and we are prepared to walk a long way.
Asked for restaurants nearby as Pension didn't provide evening meals - met with a shrug. Then 2 suggestions- one we couldn't find, one which was closed for their holidays. Ended up on google and driving around until we found somewhere. If you are running a business (and therefore live in the area), you should be able to meet a basic request such as this (even better, have a list of nearby restaurants in the room). More helpful the following day when we were looking at bus timetable to go to Salzburg.
- Samkhya (10/5): At the bottom of the Nockstein Mountain - 1. Breakfast was awesome, the fresh cheese was mouth-watering. Other cheese products were tasty as well. The coffee was good. They had sliced ham, cereals, fruits, and other spreads as well.
2. The location was perfect, just 20 minutes away from the city center, yet at the heart of the mountain. Quite and calm, full of nature.
3. At night you can hear the sound of the nearby mountain stream. Step out on the balcony at night, it will be pitch black, with only some tower at the top of the Nockstein Mountain blip a small red light. Will get the clearest sky in Central Europe.
4. The bus that comes from Salzburg station goes to Wolfgangsee Lake, Bad Ischel and from there one can go to Hallstatt. Would love to go back there.
5. Try to reach there before it is completely dark, or else the approach path from the highway might be a bit spooky as it is covered with trees. It is scary but wonderful. Bathroom door need to be made opaque, it is transparent.
- Pranay (4/5): Disappointing - Swimming pool Breakfast was very limited, fruits and juices were not at all fresh, transparent door between bedroom and bathroom which is very odd, lot of insects and flies in the room, wifi was not good
- Lynne (1/5): Double booked - We didn't get a chance to find out. Our room had been double-booked and we were given no warning, arriving at 3.30 pm to find no accommodation. The hostess was less than apologetic but we did appreciate she had booked another room for us at another hotel but it didn't have the facilities (ie pool) we had booked for and was less accessible (We did not have a car). Very disappointing experience Double-booked room.
No warning.
Replacement accommodation did not have pool (main reason for booking Nockstein. and was less accessible.
- Laura (9/5): Superb -
- Sarah (8/5): Very good -
- Rachel (10/5): Perfect spot to relax and enjoy the Salzburg area. - Lovely big room with a polished wooden floor and large balcony. We arrived by bus from Salzburg and it was great to be surrounded by trees and meadows, with dramatic views of the Nockstein, yet still only 20 minutes from the city. Also had a great trip in the other direction to Fuschlsee. Had the pool to ourselves and enjoyed a cold drink from the honesty fridge in the evening. Friendly host and good breakfast.
- Cathy (7/5): Good -
- Yasamin (9/5): Nice somewhat remote but accessible location. - The pension is located out of the city on the hills and is close to nice hike/walk areas. During the day getting to city by bus is easy. It is also located in between the city and the lakes all of which are accessible by bus.
I asked for vegan options for breakfast and I was very grateful that the host provided me with several options that she specifically got for me. The bus gets much less frequent after 21:00 (one every hour 21:00-23:00), and there's almost no options to get groceries or dinner nearby.
- Phil (7/5): Good -
- Ksenia (9/5): Nice and relaxing stay in Salzburg! - Liked that it was out of the city, which provided some amazing peace and quiet on my 3 week Euro trip! However having a rental car probably made getting to and from Pension Nocksteinblick much easier than using public transport. Breakfast was great, and the porch is beautiful for a quiet, relaxing start to your day! Also, there was no tour of the property/amenities from the host when I arrived. It was pretty independent, self check-in, etc. which I didn’t mind. Did not know that the sauna/spa wasn’t operational. I was excited about trying it since it was a cloudy/rainy day, but I got cobwebs to the face instead when I opened the door.
- Seth (10/5): I felt like I was at my vacation home. - The view Nothing
- Des (9/5): Superb -
- Barbora (10/5): Exceptional - Very homey and comfy pension, lovely owner, amazing location! Nothing not to like. Although, eggs for breakfast could have been included in the buffet 😉
- Alexey (8/5): Very good -
- Brendan (9/5): Superb -
- Lynda (8/5): Good location to enjoy the Country side and City, easy parking , very peaceful - Perfect location , in the Countryside but close enough to Salzburg city.Free parking,Good breakfast .Clean room. There was a kettle in the room , but no mugs or teaspoons
- Tj (8/5): very good value for money, very nice quiet location - *location
*staff
*service loads of dust in particular room- made it difficult to sleep in room and stay there for long durations
- Helen (10/5): Exceptional - A fantastic location and friendly atmosphere. Easy to find and reach from the city but the feeling of being out in the countryside, a great base for setting off on day trips but also close enough to trail starts for evening/shorter walks (head up the Nochstien) . Beautiful view from our balcony, a good selection for breakfast (which we had on the decking listening to the burble of the stream and birds) . A very welcoming host and friendly cat. WiFi was slow and temperamental, this didn't bother us at all as was good enough for checking directions/info etc. But if you need a good connection expect to use your data
- Volkan (9/5): Superb -
- Sara (8/5): overall great stay - comfortable and spacious rooms and easy check in. high chair available for little ones. host was accommodating and kind. breakfast was pretty minimal. we finally saw a tiny sign on the last day that eggs could be requested, which helped. the property looks different in photos than in person. small parking lot, not as much free outdoor open space as it appears online.
- Andrea (10/5): Exceptional -
- Grigorii (8/5): Good and cozy hotel - Cozy, clean and quiet hotel, very good for staying overnight. Nice breakfast. The pillows in the room not the most comfortable but that might be just personal preference.
- Heather (10/5): Friendly, family feel - A lovely place to stay in beautiful surroundings. Really homely, lovely and warm, friendly family feel.
Room was really functional, had just enough to be comfortable and had no clutter. Beautiful views and the large windows and balcony meant you could make the most of them.
Feels like you’re in the middle of nowhere but the great transport links means it’s a comfortable, affordable, 20 mins into the city.
Best part was the hosts who were really friendly and accommodating.
Bonus - cats and dogs available for petting (if they consent!) It’s not something I didn’t like as such but I do wish I had hired a car. Public transport is great but the lack of facilities local to the property did mean you needed to plan your meals ahead of times (eat in the city or purchase food and bring back).
- Octav (9/5): Superb -
- Zita (10/5): Exceptional - very weak WIFI , that is the only bad momentum, everthing else was perfect
- William (10/5): Ingrid was wonderful & answered all of our questions. - The breakfast was enjoyable & good way to start off the day. Perhaps some warm items such as eggs, bacon sausages.
- Andy (9/5): Lovely country retreat. - Lovely location and very comfortable stay. A little off the beaten track but that's why we chose it. Could have done with a Shop or restaurant a little closer. No restaurant or shop close by.
- Yvette (7/5): Good - Beautiful location, warm and clean. Free parking. Bad WiFi, no soap in dispenser, no toilette paper
- Gabriela (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful landscape with the Alpes view!
- Damoza (10/5): Exceptional - Location near Salzburg, quite place, nice room
- Yee (5/5): Passable -
- Paul (10/5): Exceptional - Location, lovely room and friendly host. In lovely countryside and yet near the beautiful city of Salzberg.
- Jose (3/5): Poor - only the view - as it was a farm house, the area is really beautifull
but we are not looking for farm view
Aurelio - Brasil located 10 km far from Salzburg - prospect said - Salzburg
street not located by gps
breaksfast poor - there is not even eggs!!! can imagine
Staff only the owner, too busy to give attention
room too small
bath practically part of the bed - glass dorr, so no privacy
a very bad option we did
not recommended in any conditions
Aurelio - Brasil
- Sandragr (10/5): Great stay at the beautiful place. Great starting point for various trips and activities. - Great host, very nice location, beautiful surroundings, really quiet but at the same time close to the city center which you can easily reach also by bus (the bus stop is 4 minutes walk from the accommodation), good breakfast. A bit poor wifi connection.
- Gera (8/5): Very good - Quaint location, peaceful, well stocked drinks fridge, decent breakfast, smooth self check-in No soap provided - hand or body
- Matteo (10/5): A pleasant and quite place to hide from everyday life. - The room was very comfortable and we found teas and coffees available for us to make. The landscape was beautiful and relaxing.
In the morning we were asked if we wanted coffee so the host prepared coffee for us. The buffet offered many different choices: cereals, jams, muesli, yogurt, ham, cheeses. All for the guests to choose and enjoy.
The house is very near to Salzburg, 15 minutes drive to one of the many garages. So it was a very good choice to stay far from the traffic yet near the town.
Besides, they have cats! We loved to pet them! Nothing at all
- Ashanti (7/5): Good -
- Nela (10/5): Exceptional - Very friendly staff. Swimming pool open 24/7. Clean, quiet and calm place. Coffee. Nature was beautiful. Close to a bus stop to Salzburg (5 mins on foot). Breakfast only cold, but sufficient (pastry, variations of cheese and ham, many yummy spreads, fresh fruits, variations of cereals,...). We had a room with a balcony and the view was amazing - we could see Nockstein. The closest store 900 m from pension (one bus stop or 15 mins on foot). WiFi 6/10 (sometimes it didn't work properly).
Only cold breakfast. No mini fridge in the room, but there was one fridge available in the main hall. Otherwise we were very happy with the stay (4 nights). We would definitely stay there again if we would visit Salzburg. :-)
