Guest Reviews
- Laura (8/5): Located in a classical Onsen neighborhood, very good hotel with several pleasant baths and very good breakfast buffet. - We really liked the lounge with the possibility to taste local sake, umeshu etc. There are several public baths to choose from. And the (Japanese) breakfast buffet was exceptional. Nothing
- Brenden (9/5): - The private onsen In the room was very nice, and there are additional private onsens available for a small fee outside of the room. The room was spacious and had excellent air conditioning. The staff was warm and friendly and helpful. The water used in the onsens appeared to be tap water rather than volcanic, so if that is important to you make note of that. Additionally, since the private onsen in the room is open air, there were a lot of bugs that made their way into the private onsen and bathroom.

- Luis Pereira 87 (9/5): - The shared Onsen between hotels is great.
Breakfast was good, good complementary details (lounge with free drinks and snacks), and various toiletery items in the room. There were construction repair patches on the room wall that were not normal for a hotel.
The surroundings of the hotel are in a very bad state: a lot of tubbings channeling the thermal water going around, a lot of abandoned houses and businesses, few sidewalks to go around. But naturally this is not the hotels responsibility and can be irrelevant if you barely leave the hotel.

- Lisbet (10/5): - The room was so spacious and the private onsen was beautiful. N/a

- Eugenie (10/5): Our favorite hotel in Japan. - This was our favorite hotel in Japan. It is perched on a steep hillside and has a lovely ambiance that is both luxurious and authentically Japanese. We splurged on a room with a private onsen and its own deck which was absolutely fabulous. We had a car, so getting there did not involve taking a taxi from the train station in town. However, it was a bit difficult to find when we first arrived and Google sent us to a different hotel. Finding the hotel. I don't know what the hotel could do to make this easier. Not their fault at all.

- Patrick (9/5): Wundervoller Aufenhalt - Tolles Hotel mitten im "Nirgendwo". Schöne verschiedene Bäder/Onsen. Ein klassisches Japanisches Gästehaus.
Sehr zu empfehlen. Wunderschöne Umgebung .. Wald/Fluss.
Ansonsten Taxi ;)
Die Umbegung ist leider schon etwas heruntergekommen. Viele verlassene Hotels. Dafür kann aber das Hotel nichts.

- Mui (10/5): Relaxing and comfortable stay. - Delicious breakfast and dinner. Courteous staff and public bath was good. None.
- Katherine (9/5): A beautiful stay in the mountains - Our room looked out over a river and snowy little town. The beds were incredibly comfortable and the quilt…I wish I’d stayed another night. So soft, so light! They had a choice of pillows but the ones in the room were fine. I slept so well.
The dinner was one of the best I have eaten in Japan. The dishes were beautifully prepared and delicious. The experience was topped off with great service. I don’t speak Japanese but they were very patient with my attempts and everything was explained. I loved the local delicacies featured on the menu. Breakfast was also impressive. Loved our stay and was fascinated by the history of the place. Thank you!
- Rebecca (9/5): Gorgeous views and relaxing stay with many facilities and amazing food. Couldn’t recommend more! - Very beautiful location with very peaceful vibe
- Dane (9/5): Excellent value and quality - The parking was easy to find with great service. Reception English was excellent and checkin was easy. The room size, cleanliness and view are all exceptional.

- Ricardo (10/5): Exceptional - Fantastic onsen experience at a great price
Incredible meals
- Lalida (9/5): Memorable - Very nice and peaceful hotel. The staffs are helpful and are with great hospitality. The breakfast and dinner was very amazing. The onsen are very private. I rent a car. There are a lot of parking lots provided free of charges, but locate a bit towards the hill (not at the hotel lobby/front). You may need to temporary park a car at the hotel lobby to unload the luggage or let someone to check in first.
- Sonya (10/5): Exceptional -
- Tim (10/5): Exceptional - All the food was amazing, buffet style breakfast is so diverse - there's seriously a little bit of everything. I found myself making sure I was as hungry as possible to give my best attempt to try it all!
The staff were so helpful, we are so appreciative of everyone putting up with the language barrier and really making sure we were having the best time and we knew which bus to take.
Highly recommend the set dinner as well, very good value for money. Best dining experience I've ever had, all the dishes were presented amazingly. The seasonal sides were a nice touch and the Sake went down very well.
Location is great, all the baths were very relaxing. We stayed on the 5th floor facing the river which added to the tranquility.
This is my second time going to a traditional Ryokan Onsen town, first time at a hotel and it's something everyone should do, it resets you, grounds you and brings you back to reality with a new spring in your step, life can be so simple and there's nothing that makes you feel this more, than a few "stripped back" days in an Onsen town.
