- Makaila (10/5): - Great friendly staff, that were extremely welcoming and took great care of us. The lounge was fun with good vibes and the food was excellent. Definitely booking here again only next time bringing more people. The food and alcohol were a little on the pricey side.

- Brian (10/5): A Lucky night I stayed here. - A lovely place in a lovely vibrant multicultural Sunderland...just 10 min walk away from the main centre... close to good pubs(), Philippine cake cafe , corner shops, Chinese restaurant(sit in take out), charity shops .
Large TV in a communal room, the ability to cook for yourself [great if on budget].
The proprietor Lucky is a very personable person.. so you get the personal touch..her is available if you have questions concerns or compliments. It was all good. You get what you pay for but in this case. You get a slice of home. Any slight issues were addressed by management... for example the oven did not work .. but there was an airfryer instead. And Lucky when informed , added that to his priority list.
- Mark (7/5): A decent place with a few issues - Nice decor and a decent location. It's in quite a rundown area, but has been decorated to a very good standard. The bathroom tiling does need some remedial work and the mattress was old and damaged - but the landlord has said he is going to fix that. Oh and it took the landlord 5 messages to tell me the vital key code to enter the property. I was happy with the stay though, as long as they fix those issues.
- Hazel (1/5): - Fair place to put your head down for a night, not appropriate for a family, I had my 12yr daughter either me or her would have slept on a mattress on the floor.
Entrance and parking is on the main road. Security wasn't good we did not stay here. Pictures and info are misleading.

- Martin (1/5): Absolutely disgusting, don't stay here - Bloody nothing at Absolutely Disgusting – Avoid at All Costs
I’ve stayed in many places while working away, but this was by far the worst accommodation I’ve ever come across. The moment I stepped through the door, I was hit with a stench that was hard to describe — the entire house smelled filthy, like it hadn’t been cleaned in weeks, and honestly resembled a drug den.
The beds had clearly been slept in — dirty sheets, pubic hairs in the bed, and one pillow had a brown smear on it. One "bed" was nothing more than a stained mattress dumped on the floor with no bedframe. The carpet was torn up with holes in it, and every surface looked like it hadn't been cleaned in months.
The kitchen was revolting. There were two filthy air fryers caked in grease with old pieces of chicken left inside — the smell was unbelievable. The microwave was dirty, the cooker and oven tray were covered in grime, and the worktops had burn marks and stains. Dirty dishes were left piled up, and I wouldn't have let a dog eat in that kitchen.
The bathroom was no better — it hadn't been cleaned, with used razors and soap still left from the previous guest. The shower was broken and leaked everywhere, barely usable.
After I walked out and told the owner how bad the place was, he accused me of being racist for not commenting on a picture of Nelson Mandela on the wall. He also claimed I was disgusted because the property was owned by a Black man — a completely false and offensive accusation. This was only said after I left the property, when I made it clear I wasn’t staying in such appalling conditions.
I took plenty of photos of the state of the house and sent them directly to Booking.com, expecting some kind of action. But despite the clear evidence, they did absolutely nothing to the host. After numerous phone calls, all they offered me was a pathetic £22 in compensation and showed no real concern or interest in what I went through.
I’ve told Booking.
- Adrian (10/5): Exceptional -
- David (3/5): Poor - The location The place needs a big clean and decorating, it was like someone lived there the cupboards and fridge/freezer was full of food, only half a roll of toilet paper for 7 people?
- Andrew (1/5): Bad -
- James (7/5): You get what you pay for and this place is cheap and cheerful - Very spacious and comfortable room. Hosts were very cheerful, friendly, and very communicative. Room was heated well overnight, but very cold during the day (I was out during the day though so it was fine for me)
Definitely don't go expecting 5*, but you get what you pay for and this place is cheap and cheerful. Kitchen could have been a bit cleaner. The lock on the bedroom door was also slightly broken - still usable, but didn't feel very secure.
- Adorolo (8/5): Very good - It was a remarkable night for me because that was my first night in UK. So was a great experience that will be memorable in my life.
- Richard (10/5): Exceptional - Thank you, very comfortable
- Elvis (8/5): Very warm and welcoming - Very excellent reception Nothing
- Basake (10/5): excellent - good nothing

- Kibaya (10/5): Overall, I had an exceptional experience at this Airbnb. - I recently had the pleasure of staying at this wonderful Airbnb room. From the moment I arrived, I felt welcomed and at home. The host was incredibly friendly, providing me with all the necessary information and even offering local tips. The room itself was really cozy. That made it perfect for us after a day of exploring the city. The bed was really comfortable, and I had some of the best nights' sleep I've had in a long time. The room was also well-equipped with all the amenities I needed, including a fast and reliable Wi-Fi connection, a coffee maker, and even some complimentary snacks and drinks.
- Raghd (6/5): It was okay overall - The room upstair was really comfy and really good. The kitchen was dirty very unhygienic.
There was some dishes unwashed in the sink.
Next to the microwave there was alot of dirt and inside it.
There was alot of frozen food however the fruit in the fridge seemed like they have been there for a quite a while. The orange was already rotten and the banana was already going black the apple were really hard.
- Shaw (10/5): Best guest house ever - Friendly family run business. Best welcome I've had at a guest house ever. Instantly felt at home, love this place and the people. Huge kitchen, shared area, great Internet, very clean, lots of facilities including gym equipment, would stay here again to be around the people here, truly good people and I'm very thankful to them.
- Ebenezer (6/5): Pleasant -
- Simon (1/5): Awful - Nothing. Not a private apartment as described but run down rooms. Locked out at end of evening for an hour. Other guests were staying. No hot water. Owner denied issues and even suggested there was no one else there when there was
- Rita (9/5): Superb - The host was very hospitable, helpful, generous, accommodating and friendly. Any problems I had, he sorted them out immediately. There was plenty of food and drinks without extra charge. The room was very spacious and the bed was very comfortable. The view from my window was not appealing. There were too many stairs to climb but otherwise I the accommodation was very good value for money.
- Kelvin (10/5): As u can see , it’s not my first time , have stayed here over and over again for like 4 times … - Accommodating , lovely place Nothing , everything was perfect
- Shakesby (1/5): Avoid this at all costs - There was nothing to like . Room was like a cupboard bed was unmade and there was laundry hanging in the room. The location was not what they said. It's in the Millfield area of Sunderland and not Monkwearmouth as stated.we had to pay when we booked and never seen the property until we arrived . My husband politely told the host that the property was not suitable and he agreed to a refund. That was 23/024 and I,m still waiting . We paid £169.00 for a room that we couldn't use.

- Tomilola (7/5): A good deal for the money - It is a good deal for the money. It is a shared apartment, Not so neat but clean and comfortable. Almost everything I needed to prepare a meal for myself and my partner was in the kitchen. The staff are friendly.
- Debra (10/5): Exceptional -
- Martin (9/5): Superb -

- Victoria (1/5): Bad - Nothing It smelt of sewers and was unclean had to wait in cold to book in also mattresses was dirty and paid for breakfast to find it was a box of weetabix in room with no milk
We was unable to stay there it was utterly disgraceful
- Anonymous (1/5): As unable to gain entry time pressure precluded me from further investigation following inability’ to gain access After - Was unable to even gain entry Front door locked no answer to ringing bell or rattling letter box No answer to several subsequent phone calls Didn’t look any thing like expected property Property not in Monkwearmouth actually in Bischopwearmouth Didn’t appear to be any parking facilities As unable to stay I wish to claim full refund of monies paid
