Guest Reviews
- NHIEM (9/5): A good homestay - Very convenient and comfortable far from Aomori station, not convenient with luggage suitcase when using public bus.
- Skylar (8/5): - The traditional Japese Style is so cool

- WENQING (10/5): We had good stay here in Aomori! Hope visit here again soon - Big warm house!
- Andrew (10/5): We loved the home and it was a great option. - Nice traditional home. Great location. Parking wasn’t the best, but the listing accurately reflects its usage ability for larger vehicles having issues.
- WANCHEN (10/5): -
- Enrico (2/5): Do NOT come during winter - The owner told me that, due to snow, there would have been the possibility of having to remove """some""" snow from the entrance. What we found was more than a meter of snow COMPLETELY covering the enormous garden, and more than 10 meters separeted us from the entrance door. The garage had a similar issue, of course. All that snow defenetely hadn't fallen the day we arrived (the rest of the road was unquestionably not in such a state), the owner hadn't shoveled the garden in weeks. Thic ice was covering the floor, an other sign of long permanence of snow. Luckily for us, we were 7 young people and we worked the thing out in more than one hour (also, we had to ask to a few neighbours their shovels because the owner's ones were, frankly, quite crapy).
The house was freezing cold and terribly humid, and the scarse heating was sufficient just for our beedrooms (althought the inner layers of sheets were almost wet even after hours of strong warming up) and kitchen. Let's not talk about the shower heating system, which looks more like a trap than an houseold appliance.
Finally, our 1.80 mt tall car barely fitted in the garage, do not trust the owner when he writes that "everything under 1.90 mt tall does not touch the garage cealing".
I'm sure this property looks and feels great during summer, when the owner does not need to do any work to make it livable.
- CHUN SHEN (7/5):

- Teng Nguong (8/5): We had pleasant stay for 12 days in the property, as we came during cold winter, the house had very good heating system - Excellent location, right in the centre area of Aomori and there are plenty of restaurants and shops, supermarkets close by.
It’s a traditional Japanese house with old fashioned furniture, lots of sentimental charms inside the house. The house is spacious too.
Heating system worked super well, and it’s been lovely to stay warm inside with outside of minus 2. There’s a garage with spacious parking space to keep our car out of snow and ice which was fantastic.
The owner was super responsive when I came across any issues of the house which is a highlight. I had quite a shock when I first walked inside the property, I thought I walked into someone else’s house with people living in it because I saw lots of shoes at the entrance.
The house is super old, and cluttered with stuff which belonged to “ previous tenants “ ? Kitchen appliances were old, and the whole house is not very clean- based on what we’ve seen of Japanese standards of clean.

- Elizabeth (8/5): A delightful, spacious, character-filled, quiet, comfortable and homely house, disappointedly let down by the poor state - Spacious, homely, light-filled house with lots of character. Conveniently located near a shopping centre, walking paths and bus routes. Quiet location, with the house being in a suburb, rather than a city. A welcoming introduction to our first experienceience of Japan. Many aspects of the kitchen. The exhaust fan over the stove top, a fridge door, a set of drawers and some drawer handles all need fixing and many of the appliances require a deep clean as they had ingrained dirt that we couldn’t remove before use (e.g. the toasting oven). Previous users had left cutlery, kitchen knives and some crockery dirty. The floor in front of the kitchen sink needs repair.
The garden was very overgrown and neglected. The library now appears to be a junk room.
- Emily (4/5): Run down house with too much clutter - Located near to a supermarket Cockroach on the first night
- Yu-Jui (9/5): - Very good place, location also very good. Near by supermarket. The house is very big. All rooms have heater, very comfortable.

- DT4 (9/5): - Homely holiday apartment, like staying at your relative's house. Supermarket nearby.
- Vladimir (10/5): Exceptional -
- Silvan (9/5): Superb - Cozy atmosphere as if you are visiting your grandma.
- Anthony (10/5): Exceptional - Massive house with plenty of room. Two toilets which is rare in Japan. A bit far from the city if you don't have a car. Would recommend hiring a car if you stay here as they have a secure garage. The place could also use a more thorough clean but I think that comes with the age of the property.
- Chiyomi (8/5): A spacious traditional Japanese house with excellent value for money that also accepts dogs - We stayed here with our family of four and two medium-sized dogs. It is close to the city and there are many facilities nearby, so it is very convenient. We were able to relax in the spacious old house. There is only one parking space, and the second parking space is a bit long walk away especially rainy day ...
- Emily (8/5): Very good -
- Simon (10/5): Very good way to love like a Japanese local - Beautiful older house in a normal
Japanese suburb. Nothing
- William (10/5): True Japan - This place is the real deal. Five generations of ancestors above the shrine. I experienced a memento mori. Each generation grows with the daily reflection knowing one day it will be their turn to be venerated.
Plus it snowed perfectly on time.
A grand country home. Perfect for entertaining. Enormous library and teapot collection.
My favourite thing was the “ persimmon pickers” at the door.
And the persimmon were delicious.
- Ailsa (10/5): Exceptional -
- Tian (8/5): Very good -
