Guest Reviews
- Lisa (9/5): Great base for exploring the area. - Great location close to town centre, the amenities and particularly the lovely beaches - also a good central base from which to explore other parts of the beautiful county of Northumberland. Plenty of space, a well equipped kitchen & good bathroom facility - steaming hot water at good pressure in the shower. No additional charge for our dogs was also a bonus. We found the sofa a little uncomfortable and the pillows on the beds were very lumpy. Probably as a result of economic factors beyond the control of the host, our stay was also considerably more expensive than that of the same weekend last year too, albeit at a different location.
- Jason (9/5): Great place to base yourself to visit Northumberland - good location in Amble easy parking and welcoming home to stay in - Clean and welcoming
- rachel (10/5): - We had a lovely stay at the hideaway, the house had everything we needed and was decorated beautifully throughout. The beds were really comfy and the location was perfect, only a short walk into the town. We will definitely be looking to return
- Craig (10/5): Great location and exactly as shown in pictures - Location to visit Holy Island , Bamburgh Castle and Alnwick is perfect. property is as advertised, very cosy
- Kirsty (10/5): - Location was perfect for walking into town for a coffee, walking to the harbour and for meeting up with family in the local establishments.
The place was decorated beautifully, with lots of home comforts, and soft blankets.
The kitchen was gorgeous, and very spacious. The sofa was comfortable after a long day of exploring and the shower was wonderfully hot! Nothing. Would definitely book again
- Dawn (10/5): Hideaway, Amble - Hideaway is a lovely pet friendly 3 bed house. Home from home. Clean and well equipped. Ideal location 5min walk to town centre and harbour village. Fantastic communication from booking to leaving. Highly recommend. Nothing I didnt like.
- Drew (10/5): Perfect - Great location. People were very friendly. Great communication from the owners The frying pan could do with being replaced
- Stephanie (9/5): Lovely stay - Very comfy bed and good quality furnishings and crockery etc. 10 minute walk into town and good communication from owner. Had to go out and buy batteries for the remote as the TV didn't work initially however was good once the new batteries in! The bath mat didn't appear to have been washed otherwise everything else was lovely andcwould stay again. Could do with a couple of trays for the oven.
- Linda (9/5): We enjoyed our stay and hopefully we will return soon. - Very nice decoration throughout, comfortable beds. Really warm and comfortable house. Seating area outside was very private. Nothing!

- John (10/5): - Beautifully decorated, plenty of towels. Very comfortable property. Difficult to open the key lock box, the code was fine but hard to push the button down while opening.
- Gemma (9/5): Lovely welcoming house which I'd be happy to return to, easy walking distance for meals out. - Beautifully decorated house, with thoughtful touches. Welcome tray a lovely surprise. Books, games and toiletries. Excellent communication with host. Only minor suggestions. Pillows were a little lumpy. Some side plates would be handy, in addition to the dinner plates.

Only 1.5 toilet rolls, tiny amount of washing liquid & no spare bin bags. Owner replied quickly and was happy to organise for the cleaners to return and drop more off but would have been handy to have access to more supplies so we could keep everything clean and tidy.

- James (9/5): Home from home … very cosy - This was a really warm and welcoming home. We settled in immediately and so did Nala our Dalmatian.
Everything felt like ‘home-from-home’ from the well equipped kitchen to the lovely comfy mattresses and linen.
It was easy to park. Whilst there was no useable outdoor space for the dog it was a short walk to a field for our dog to have her last visit of the evening.
Only 3 km away was the most beautiful country park and beach. Heavenly in winter so we could only imagine what it’s like in the summer.
Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this property to others.
- Gordon (10/5): A fantastic, comfortable home in Amble. - It had everything needed for a short stay and more. We loved the decor throughout the house and felt a great deal of thought had gone into it. There were loads of nice touches eg the different paints, the light pull & toilet roll holder in bathroom etc. The kitchen/dining area was beautifully done.
Overall, it didn’t feel like a sterile rental but felt homely & welcoming such as the throws on the settee.
The generous welcome tray, including wine and snacks, plus lots of coffee, tea and milk were greatly appreciated.
Also, the information provided and the communication were first rate.
The location was great and we were able to park at the front door. We’d definitely return. Nothing.
- Carrie-ann (10/5): Lovely place, excellent location - Great house, much bigger than what it looks. We were a family of 5. (2 adults and 3 teenagers 14.17.18) plenty of room for us all. Excellent location, lovely restaurants and pubs, everyone’s so friendly. Nothing we didn’t like. Property was excellent.

- Katie (10/5): Clean, tidy property located a short walk from the town centre. Highly recommend. - The property was cosy, extremely clean and tidy and was equipped with everything that we needed. The added touch of choccy, crisps and wine on arrival was so appreciated and unexpected - it really made our arrival feel special. (Also milk - very handy!!)
We stayed in the double bedroom which was very comfy with crisp fresh bedding.
The house was a 5-10 min walk from the main high street and harbour and we made it to the beach in no time.
Our pooch also felt very welcomed too with the dog bowls in the kitchen 😀 We had a bath towel each but an extra hand towel would have been a bonus for my hair wash (not a complaint as we survived!) but just an added extra.
- Mary (9/5): Relaxing short break in a small town with a big heart. Good location for town and seeing surrounding area. - A beautifully restored and furnished house. Best nights sleep for weeks in a super comfy bed. Well equipped kitchen. Welcome pack, games and books available to use. Nothing
- Jamie (9/5): Comfortable, spacious and perfect base for exploring. - We loved our stay at HideAway. It had everytring we needed. The bed was very comfortable especially ater a good day's exploring. Our dog settled very quickly and also slept soundly afer exploring many new beaches. we explored Druridge Country park (3 mies away) and loved it as there are lakes, woods and then beathes to explore all an the same site. We also went to Bambugh to see the castle, dogs only allowed in the grounds and the beach and Seahouses for some food. Morrisons just down the road. And the welcome pack was a nice touch. At the time we visited the main room radiator was playing up, we were made aware of this so we used the fire instead so didn’t cause us any problems.
- David (10/5): Cosy, comfortable and lovely - The property was really cosy and homely. We loved the decor and furnishings and the bed was super comfortable. The host left milk in fridge and a bottle of wine and crisp and chocolate a lovely thought 😊 Maybe a small shelter in yard or canopy would b better cos we r smokers
- Elizabeth (9/5): A great base for a friends get together - The decor and furnishings were lovely and to a high standard.
Host left a complimentary bottle of wine & chocolate and there was milk in the fridge. We struggled to work the heating (but that might have been me)
- Scott (9/5): Superb - Great location, nice comfortable terraced house with everything needed. Shower water pressure was a little lacking, but it did the job.
- Carolyn (8/5): Very good - Spotlessly clean & spacious Pillows - really need replacing!
Kitchen could be better equipped with things like a sieve, hand mixer, washing Up cloth, kitchen paper towel etc. ( Would have been happy to pay a little extra for these.)
- Jayne (10/5): Exceptional -
- Allan (10/5): A gem on Scott Street - The house was immaculate very quite area five minutes walk to the harbour.Top quality bedding, kitchen had all you needed for a holiday home. No faults at all
