Guest Reviews

- Valerie (9/5): Perfect cottage in a perfect location!! - Really simple key collection. Communication with the host about this, and in prep for arrival was fabulous. The house was so clean and well laid out. Perfectly located for accessing the highlights of the Peak District and accessing local amenities in Chapel-En-Le-Frith The parking was ok for me in my Ford Fiesta, but I suspect a larger car might have felt like it was parking more precariously as it is road side on a relatively busy road.
- Gadi (9/5): Sweet cottage in superb location - The cottage was super sweet and felt like we had gone back in time - but with modern amenities. The location was great for exploring the Peak District. Had a good meal at the local pub, The Hangjng Gate. I didn’t find the bench seating in the kitchen comfortable but that is just a minor detail.
- Guest (10/5): - Beautiful location, amenities were great, especially for the price! Host was really helpful and accommodating.
- Wendy (10/5): A perfect cottage in a beautiful location with an amazing host who was so kind and helpful. - We had the best stay in this gorgeous cottage, everything was just absolutely perfect, spotlessly clean and so comfortable.
The most amazing view overlooking the reservoir, I just wish I had bought my swimming costume !! We loved walking over the road with a morning cup of tea and enjoying the view and great place to bird spot too.
It is a great location close to great villages with great choices to eat, would highly recommend the Pug and Pudding
(please see a photo of our lunch in photos below).
Great bus route into Buxton too, the bus stops right outside the cottage on request.
Claire was the most helpful and friendly host who was so kind and we will certainly be back.
Many thanks for a perfect holiday. There was nothing at all that I didn't like except having to leave!!
- Steve (10/5): - Brilliantly renovated, well furnished and spotlessly clean.
- Catherine (8/5): - The property was very clean, spacious, and smelt lovely. Location was also very good. The parking space at the front of property was too small.
We also ran out of toilet roll.
- Lisa (9/5): Beautiful and clean cottage - recently renovated - Lock Box Parking
- Sole (10/5): Exceptional -
- Laxmi (10/5): We had a good time and beautiful location - Very good classic house with Morden touch It’s doors slightly low for tall person
- Libbie (10/5): Exceptional - So cozy and the owner was very helpful Everything was perfect
- Minj (7/5): We enjoyed our stay at this excellent cottage very much and would love to come back. - Excellent location, cozy cottage with lovely features, beautiful rooms with views, comfortable beds, stylish bathroom. -caught short with a quarter of a toilet roll to start off the holiday before we had the chance to pop to the shops. We did NOT expect this to provided for the duration of our stay, but always good to have a back up supply.
-toilet cleaning implements could be on hand
-musty, damp smelling towels
-parking was indeed a challenge as mentioned by other guests
- Moira (8/5): Good value for money in excellent location - The cottage is well-equipped for a comfortable break and it is also very well located to visit some interesting highlights of the Peak District. We were a family of 4 adults and it suited us very well. The cottage is on a B-road so there is some traffic noise (the main bedroom is at the front).
- Hadas (9/5): Beautiful house in a great location - Beautiful little house, newly refurbished, decorated with simplicity and elegance. The kitchen well equipped and the bathroom very clean. Got all the essentials needed and a superb location by the reservoir. I would love to visit again. The parking in front of the house is a bit challanging but that is a minor issue.
- Jordanne (10/5): Amazing little hideaway - The cottage is only small, but it is absolutely wonderful. The decor of the cottage is so lovely. It was in such a great location, it's 16 minutes from buxton, so if you're looking for a country getaway, this house is beyond perfect. I actually wish I lived there, I fell in love with the property.
We had good communication with the owner and they left us milk and biscuits which I thought was so thoughtful. Thank you so much x Everything was perfect
- Terry (9/5): Superb - Lovely clean cottage. Very well equipped. Good location for local tourism. One minor thing. Lack of loo brush in the bathroom.
- Laura (10/5): Wonderful family weekend trip - A lovely house with beautiful views from the windows. The house was situated in a great place with short drives to lots of different locations. We visited; the Pavilion gardens, which has a great park area for children, Pooles Cavern, which my eldest whose 5 enjoyed but the darkness and sound of rushing water sent my 2 year old to sleep and a gorgeous walk to Solomon's Temple.
The house is cosy and clean with that homely feeling. The added touch of coffee, biscuits and milk was a really nice treat to enjoy when we arrived. The bedrooms are very comfortable and spacious with a really calm and relaxed vibe..
My son was over the moon to find snakes and ladders in the cupboard too.
The house had everything needed for a wonderful stay and we as a family of 4 we would definitely return again.
Communication was really easy and the instructions on arrival were really simple to retrieve the keys. Highly recommend.
- Aanish (10/5): Cozy warm and peaceful weekend away - It’s a nice little cottage right opposite the reservoir. It felt really cozy and clean. It was a really nice get away spot. It had all the things we needed for a weekend away in the Peak District. Location was also ideal with a town close that had options for food while also only being 15 minutes away from Buxton for dinner/groceries. Nothing in our experience.
- John (10/5): Definetely visit again. - Stayed in late January and what a lovely place to stay. All modern facilities , nice new kitchen with plenty of room. Comfy beds, cosy living room with log burner. A few low beams but remembered to duck. Easy distance from Chapel-en-le-frith town centre. We were lucky with the weather and enjoyed walking in the area. Can't think of an improvement
