- Anouck (6/5): Beautiful location and view but we missed a clean feeling and some love, it was badly maintained. - The location for Northern lights and stilness is perfect! It was dirty when we arrived. Dead bugs, lots of dust. Old shampoo and we didn’t feel comfortable. We paid for our stay so we expected it to be clean at least! Tip: some bowls or anything extra to use for breakfast and next to a clean floor / furniture / windows / window frames and shower + mirror also clean drawers. When people pay for it just clean it!
- Wiktoria (10/5): Polecamy! - Świetny obiekt! dodałabym mini kuchenkę/mikrofale

- Nikitas (7/5): Great but has potential to be one of the best in the area. - Very beautiful and quiet place to stay. Easy access and parking to the premises. Really warm even for the -5C in December. Outside of light pollution thus spotting auroras become a bit easier there. It needed a bit more care on the cleaning side of things. 7 nights of stay and this happened only once upon our request.
- Nenad (9/5): It was quiet, comfortable but dirty. - We liked the fact that we had comfort and everything we needed inside the house, the room was very warm , and location is suitable for watching Aurora; its very private and quiet It was dirty, bathroom especially; the bed was prepared but the sheets were old and not ironed; also we stayed 5 nights and got only 2 towels which were very old and gray. The bathroom had someone else’s old used shampoos inside and lots of hair in the shower tub, also we found someone else’s food in the fridge.
- Indre5 (10/5): - Everything was great. The owner was helpful, the location was amazing.
- Benjamin (10/5): - Super Lage, sehr ruhig, gemütlich und perfekt zum Nordlichter fotografieren. Zweites Foto vor der Haustür entstanden ---
- Nantia (8/5): Good value for money - Warm, nice location, quiet, gas station close by, many sockets to charge gear, warm water Ko kitchen even if kitchen stove was provided it was not listed so had to rent a camping gas. Had to wash in bathroom basin which is extremely small. Extra pillows needed.
- Shanice (8/5): Lovely place to stay - It was nice, good value for money The kettle didn’t work

- Kamil (9/5): Pobyt na duzy + - - bliski dojazd do atrakcji turystycznych
- ciepło i przytulnie w domku dalej od ludzi
- fajne udogodnienia - brak mikrofali
- w lazience powinno byc troszkę czyściej
- malo naczyn i sztućców

- Jim (4/5): Ok other than towels. Nothing fancy that's for sure. - The towels were incredibly scratchy - actually turned into a joke - never seen any like them.

- Elizabeth (10/5): Loved it, would stay there again! - Loved the quiet location, and being so close to the "golden circle" Some kitchen appliances, and basic utensils would have been nice. Also, more towels/rags

- Eban (7/5): It was ok for the price and location. - Cute on the outside, good location for northern lights, and pretty spacious inside. It seemed a little run down and not as modern as the pictures appeared. Our bathroom was also tiny and the shower drain did not work well. We booked two cabins assuming there would be a microwave in both, but there was only one in one of the cabins. Overall, it was comfortable enough but could use some updates.

- Sheetal (10/5): I enjoyed it. I felt very safe it was mother daughter trip. - Clean and cozy. Very quiet. Centrally located where everything was 1-2hrs away. I wish curtains actually blocked the sun light.
- Anastasiia (10/5): -
- Jeremy (10/5): Perfect stay! - We really enjoyed our stay at Gaukshof! 🌟 The property is full of charm, with a peaceful atmosphere and beautiful surroundings. Our room was clean, comfortable, and cozy , perfect for a relaxing night after exploring the area.
The location is great, offering both tranquility and easy access to nearby sights. We would happily stay here again and definitely recommend it! Everything was ok
- Matteo (6/5): Pleasant - check-in was very easy The tap water wasn’t as clean as the rest of Iceland, and left sticky residue on our hands
- Bram (8/5): Wonderful cozy place with some small points for improvement - Location-wise wonderful, easy to reach, nice surroundings. Beds were comfortable, nice that there was a good working fridge available. Nice quiet place. Easy to arrive at time of convenience. Friendly contact with the host. The shower was a bit clunky (didn't run through well). Available amenities were a bit limited (only 1 fresh towel for 3 nights, 1 roll of toilet paper - good to bring some yourself). Blinds could be better (bring an eye mask).
- Austėja (9/5): Private, remote, peaceful place - Peaceful place with a great view. Cozy, warm, private. There was a hiccup with the check in which was eventually sorted out.
- Julieta (9/5): Superb - Really nice place
- Katarina (7/5): Good - The location is perfect for watching the northern lights. It’s very quiet and close to the Geysir.
- Tharmiya (1/5): It’s the worst stay so far from all my holidays - Nothing, property is incorrectly advertised on bookings.co with misleading and false information It’s not as it’s shown on the bookings.com or as it states. The owner has lied about the property. Shocking bookings.com has fallen for the lies and listed the property on their page!
- Gabrieladel84 (5/5): OK place - It was an ok cabin. The best part was that one of the extension cords had outlets to charges our phones without Icelandic adapter. It had a big table to have dinner and to use paper maps to plan. It did not come with toilet paper.
- Darren (10/5): Perfect for anyone looking to find a stop off to your Highland visits and many of the surrounding iconic locations - The cabins are the perfect location for many of icelands incredible sights.
The cabins are cosy, warm when required and ideal for anyone who needs somewhere to stay on a busy adventure in Iceland.
The host is very accommodating and friendly.
The facilities are great and it's evident that the host is continuing to make the cabins even better.
A perfect location for darkness and capturing the Aurora There is nothing I didn't like. It was perfect for what I needed,
- Doug (9/5): Superb - it was convenient to seeing the falls to the north and in a quiet location. Close to a small gas station. No real step getting into the cabin.
- Laura (8/5): We enjoyed our stay! - The room was spacious and we were able to adjust the temperature through opening windows as well as a little heater when it got cool. Shower was great! There was not much room for toiletries in the bathroom so we moved a few cleaning supplies to make more space.
- Ryszard (9/5): Superb - Clean, warm, new place Not sure where to take out trash
- Piotr (9/5): Great cottage - Nice place for decent price. Pretty big cottage with everything you need for your stay. We enjoyed the stay and we will come back next time during another Iceland trip.
- Laura (8/5): Location - The location is perfect to go and venture into the Highlands.
The cabin is very basic but was clean. It was missing bath towels but when my friend called the owner, he brought them..
It is quiet. It needs a little of TLC. A couple of extra hooks on the wall, a bedside table for the twin room, I used a chair for that purpose.
- Sutton (8/5): looks a bit quirky, but a very comfortable stay, all very private with good facilities - good location
- Dennis (7/5): Fair value for money - but do not expect luxury - Private cabin, ‘cheep’, all the important things work. The step up to the door is an unstable pallet.
- Johan (9/5): Superb -
- Sintija (9/5): Superb -
- Duane (9/5): Natural beauty all around - Near many good places to be and close to airports for an easy first night stay after arriving in Iceland. The refrigerator wasn't very cold and didn't have the ability to make ice.
- Antonela (8/5): Very good -
- Kristians (10/5): Exceptional -
- Julianus (6/5): Not bad but not that good - the host "forgot" to mention that the room lock was broken, iceland is a "safe" place but still I wasn't happy to leave our stuff in an open room with direct access to the public road.
the cottage is nice but not clean, a lot of dust everywhere and the kettle was VERY dirty. In the bathroom the soap/shampoo available looked like it was a leftover from the previous guest.
the staff was useless, he/she (all contacts are by chat) could not even tell us if there is a restaurant nearby. Place a not very clean and staff not professional.
- Moritz (9/5): Superb - Gaukshof was just perfect for what I needed. I was travelling alone on a little photo-tour, and since the weather was amazing I spent very little time inside and used my time to explore the country. There are a lot of beautyful sights quite close and Gaukshof is also a very good starting point for trips into the Highlands. It had a fridge, microwave and a little stove top, so everything I needed for breakfast or a easy meal.
Central heating was working fine and the shower had warm water.
Checking in and out was very easy. Maybe a bitte small if you have a lot of rainy days, but just perfect for my particular visit.
- Derek (10/5): Exceptional -
- Alasdair (7/5): All basic facilities in cabin - Four ringed cooker, not listed in facilities. Bare surroundings.
- Konrað (1/5): Bad -
- Paul (2/5): Worst accommodation in Iceland. - Staff reacted when contacted about a major problem.
3rd bed was a useful bonus.
WiFi is easy to access - turn router upside down for the login details. Summary: unclean, unusable & dangerous.
The property hadn't been cleaned by the time we arrived at 22.00. The bed, crockery, bathroom etc were obviously used and unclean, the bin overflowing. The owner had thought the previous tenants were still there. It took an hour to rectify.
A kettle and fridge were provided, but no washing up facilities.
3 beds provided, but only 2 cups, 2 plates, 2 bowls and 1 spoon!
An old, rusty, electric hob was present, but no pans or cooking utensils.
An exposed mains cable has been left hanging about 1m above the dining table, from the disconnected smoke alarm.
The electrics tripped-off 3 times (nothing of ours was plugged in at the time)
There is a socket about 10cm below the bathroom sink that gets wet every time you turn the tap off!
Your knees touch the opposing bathroom wall, as you sit on the loo.
The step to access the high doorway is a BROKEN PALLET.
- Francois (9/5): Superb -
- Andrew (7/5): Good -
- Sharon (6/5): Pleasant -
- Sales (6/5): Pleasant - Tiny houses located at the edge of the highlands and close to the south coast. Ideal to venture out when exploring Iceland.
Found fast internet, easy check-in and out, lots of electrical outlets, a spacious fridge and a water cooker. Furnishing kept to the minimum. No cuttlery.
Initially towels were missing but replaced swiftly after feedback to the host.
- Daniel (5/5): Cabin with ensuite. Worth about $35 us dollars, paid $150 -
- Giuseppe (10/5): Exceptional -
- Bettianac (10/5): Perfect stay!9 - Everything was perfect
Staff was amazing ❤️ Nothing not to like
- Jonathan (9/5): Clean, quiet, convenient and perfect for those who want to adventure and return to a comfy bed. - We took a photography trip to iceland, our third this year, and our criteria was somewhere clean with a shower and comfy beds, well positioned in terms of locality to the highlands and Vik, but also somewhere that wasn't unnecessarily expensive with facilities we didn't need. We just needed somewhere to sleep and wash and the cabins were perfect for our needs. They are fairly new and the owner explained they were planning on adding decking which would be great if you wanted to enjoy breakfast or an evening meal outside instead of inside. The cabins are also very close (one road away) to a fuel station and cafe, which, given the quiet location is perfect for topping up on supplies. The cabin has a kettle and a fridge with plenty of electrical plug points to charge up your personal devices (which as photographers we have many). Two minor things really, nothing that would stop us coming back. It would be great to have a better pillow or extra pillow, and also black out blinds or curtains as the sun rises and shines directly into the large windows early in the morning.
- Wetterauer (10/5): It was a pleasant stay and we stayed for 2 nights. There is plenty to do in the area. - It was what I expected. I liked it very much. They need to leave the WIFI password in the room so you can join. I did not have phone capability to call and ask what it was.
- Vanke (9/5): Superb - Clean, quite place. Really comfortable bed. Communication with the owner was great. Nothing important.
It would be nice to have a small kitchen as most of the people will usually cook themselfs.
- Gok (10/5): Cute, cozy and accommodating. - Great place, very accommodating, easy and super cute! If I were to get picky, I'd say a few more pillows would be great
- Snyltaren (9/5): Fresh cabin, fantastic views from windows and tranquil area. - The views from the windows (in the two directions) were awesome. I'll attach a picture. Quick access to the Geyser and Gullfoss. The only room for improvement that I can think of would be if there were USB wall chargers in case you forgot your own USB charger.
- Miklós (8/5): Very good - Comfortable bed, large house for one person Bathroom was not so clean.
