Guest Reviews
- kimberly (10/5): Excellent family stay - Lovely garden and comfy beds Nothing it was beautiful
- Hardik Ashwin (10/5): - Exceptional place with all the amenities and perfect for a family or group of friends.
- Michele (10/5): Amazing!! Already booked to go back!! - The place was immaculate, comfortable and had everything you needed for a chilled weekend away.
- Tidmarsh (10/5): House last night was really nice., We would definitely stay there again!!! - House last night was really nice., We would definitely stay there again!!! Nothing
- Jane (10/5): Lovely property - Lovely well decorated and comfortable property, lots of treats left by the host and an excellent pub serving food over the road
- Robert (10/5): Great one week holiday. - Great bungalow in a great location, very clean, everything supplied that you could possibly think of, quiet area, great friendly pub over the road.
Ideal for exploring the local area, and the Yorkshire coast.
Great communication from Mark.
Would definitely return. Nothing.
- David (10/5): A wonderful stay at Meadowside. Host was superb from start to finish and such a lovely property. Will definitely be aski - What isn’t there to like 😀!
Absolutely superb. Spacious, extremely well appointed, snug, great setting. Truly could not ask for more. It was perfect …
- david (9/5): The proprietor was very good and thought of everything. A nice welcome pack when we arrived - Spacious and very modern, nice garden. Idealic location Nothing
- Mark (10/5): - Lovey bungalow, clean, lots of room, large garden and a lovely breakfast left for us to cook. Weaverthorpe is a pretty village with two pubs Nothing
- karlene (10/5): Beautiful house, beautiful surroundings and we absolutely recommend you book a visit, you will not be disappointed. - The house is fantastic. The amenities are first class. The host, Mark is a great. Nothing is too much trouble and he provides a full English breakfast for your arrival as well as a couple of beers and a bottle of fizzy. The gardens are private and enclosed, perfect for lounging around and relaxing. The house is surrounded by beautiful countryside and ideal for walking, especially if you have fur babies. There are 2 pubs, within 2 minutes walk. This was our second visit and there is absolutely nothing, in our opinion, that could be done to improve your stay.
- PHILIP (10/5): As above. - Good design and layout…well equipped…good quality items.
Secure off road parking.
Goodies on arrival left by the owner much appreciated. The chesterfield settee that face the tv for viewing was not comfortable as it is a sofa bed and the mechanism is underneath.
Also when sitting on this settee…the bright security lights in the pub car park behind the garden shine straight in the end window where there are no curtains or blinds.
The raised concrete area of the kitchen floor where you sit at the breakfast bar is a trip hazard and needs to be removed and made level.
Other than that …all good.
- Abigail (10/5): Beautiful property. It was spacious, immaculate, homely. Well stocked kitchen. -
- Cara (10/5): Perfect place to stay for a Wedding in Sledmere! - Mark's attention to detail and making us feel welcome! The breakfast ingredients were fabulous and the crockery was all really nice which I feel is normally lacking in a holiday home. Nothing - it was a lovely house and place to stay.
- Mark (10/5): Exceptional - Everything very clean, well equipped, spacious garden, breakfast food supplied, lovely village Nothing
- Tony (10/5): Exceptional - WOW! What an incredible place, everything you could possibly need for a perfect stay.
From the moment you step inside, the attention to detail and décor is very noticeable and the layout is spacious while at the same time very cosy.
The location is also fantastic, only a 30-minute drive to Scarborough, allowing for easy day trips.
One unexpected highlight for me was the 11:00 AM checkout, which meant no frantic rush in the morning, just a relaxed start with time to enjoy breakfast before packing up.
The owner is also incredibly responsive and polite, answering any questions promptly.
There is a reason this property has such a high rating on Booking.com, and it’s well deserved. A solid 5/5 in my book - highly recommended!
We rely very heavily on people’s feedback when choosing a location to stay so I hope my feedback helps?
- Paul (9/5): Comfortable stay in lovely area, with very helpful and accommodating owner. - Nice house - light, roomy and comfortable (beds also comfortable). Well equipped kitchen. Large garden, perfect for the dog. Thoughtful welcome pack. Distribution centre across the road creates a bit of noise from wagons coming and going. Lot of ambient light at night from the distribution centre and nearby pub (although told pub lights not usually an issue)
- Melanie (10/5): Everything was perfect and made for a super break away. Please book this wonderful place - you will not be disappointed! - Immaculately presented, great layout. Fantastic outside space. Super comfortable, relaxing place.
Lots of lovely extras were provided by the hosts, which made it all extra special.
The communication with the hosts was so easy, very friendly yet professional. Nothing at all, it was perfect!
- Dr (10/5): A taste of luxury and Yorkshire hospitality - Spacious, high standard of interior facilities, large garden and generous and communicative host in a quiet rural area with good connections to the coast and the dales, and good choice of local pubs serving food. Nothing
- Donna (10/5): Exceptional - The bungalow was amazing, very warm and had everything we needed and more. We particularly enjoyed all the board games. The garden is beautiful and well maintained..we loved watching the squirrell visiting the squirrell feeding station and sitting out in the sunshine. The host was very nice, they left lots of lovely breakfast items for us and an Easter egg for our daughter. Lovely quiet location, we will 100% be back. Cannot recommend this place enough. There was nothing at all, the place is beautiful.
- Tamsyn (10/5): The best stay ever with thoughtful touches throughout! - Beautiful property! We had the loveliest evening at Meadowside. Everything was to such a high standard, even down to the quality of the towels and bed linen.
The host Mark was very helpful and left some Easter eggs for our children upon arrival, plus some Prosecco for us adults! These little touches were so thoughtful.
The selection of games were fantastic as well as books for adults and children. The open fire was so cosy in the evening. There was even a bag of nuts to feed the squirrels which our children loved.
The garden is incredible and my dog couldn’t have been happier in such a large space to run around.
This is honestly the best place I’ve stayed with booking.com. We are rebooking very soon!
Thank you Mark for a wonderful stay! I can’t praise this place enough! Nothing - there wasn’t a single thing not to like.
- Nik (10/5): Exceptional - An excellent property with some of the highest quality finishes we have experienced. It is all of the small things that help such as the large fridge freezer with an ice machine to help those gin and tonics. Mark was an excellent host and we appreciated all that he did to make it a special birthday weekend. The area around the village is very peaceful and we enjoyed drives to Filey, Malton and Bridlington. We were a group of 6 adults and 2 dogs and the living and cooking area was very spacious so we felt relaxed. Beds were comfortable and it was a very quiet area at night. Nothing of note but a shower in the main bathroom would be useful for large groups like ours.
- Miguelito (9/5): Very good value, great quality and excellent service - This is a lovely home. Well appointed and attractive in many ways and we felt very comfortable in it. Mark was very helpful. The only minor criticism was that there was only hot water for one person. Two of us had to have cold showers.
- Mark (10/5): Exceptional - Lovely property, location, facilities, parking all excellent. Highly recommend.
- Martin (10/5): Exceptional -
- David (10/5): All in all a thoroughly enjoyable stay, Mark was always available for any assistance if needed. - The property had quality running through it. The furnishings, crockery, towels ect were all high end. The extras provided were a really nice touch and very much appreciated. Also the beautiful wraparound garden was ideal for our Labrador Jack, and a lovely place to sit and enjoy the wildlife. The adjacent property had a security light that came on at night and shone through the small arched window in the extension and ideally a blind could be fitted to stop the light coming in. The owners are probably not aware of this issue.
- Catherine (10/5): IDEAL STUNNING LITTLE QUIET RETREAT FOR COUPLES OR FAMILES AND DOGS. 5🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 - Booked here for weekend with partner and big dog. We have a only a small garden at home and knew the 1/2 acre woodland garden would mean he also had a great holiday.
Arrived to a warm and welcoming property with a fully equipped kitchen and ingredients for breakfast and fire roaring. This was even more impressive as I had to change our arrival time on the day.. Settled in for the evening for a bath in a huge bathtub with clean fluffy towels and complementary prosecco and snacks, which happened to be valentines day and that evening my partner PROPOSED!💍🌟
The bungalow is stunning, and prepared with care and thought. We had enough wood to use the fire both evenings and central heating in the mornings as was a cold february.
Host was helpful and responsive on chat. Very professional, goes above and beyond. Was the most fantastic little break, memorable engagement and we have taken away property inspiration and envy for our home. If I had managed rental property this is what I would aim for as the whole experience was superb 🌟🌟🌟 thankyou Mark!! Hope to return for anniversaries in the future 🩷
We love that the property is on a quiet and slightly secluded location and enjoyed a drive out to the seaside in the daytime!
This is not in control of the host but the only thing I would change is the description of "2 pubs in walking distance". We had planned to eat out but 1 was closed and the other has the worst reviews I've ever read. I'm sure there would be takeaways but instead drove a while to find a supermarket but the kitchen is INCREDIBLY well stocked and spotless,, with plenty of seating options and an enormous oven, and dishwasher too so it was no problem 😊
- Katie (10/5): Exceptional - I surprised my mum with a weekend here for her birthday. From the point of booking and throughout our stay Mark was helpful, easily contactable and very quick to respond to my messages. The bungalow is beautiful, clean and very well equipped. Mark went above and beyond, even leaving flowers, prosecco and a card for my mum and the breakfast food was very much appreciated. I love that my mums little dog was made to feel so welcome too, she absolutely loved running around the big garden. The beds were very comfortable, there was a fire made for us arriving and plenty of coal and logs left for us. The bungalow is in an ideal location with either the coast or some lovely country towns within a 20 minute drive. My mum really enjoyed some early morning village walks too. There are also 2 pubs within walking distance. The only pointer I could give would be to have the bowls a bit lower down...... short girl problem 😂 🤣
I would absolutely return to this property and I will recommend to my friends and family. Thank you Mark and team. #tophosts. 😊
- David (10/5): Thoroughly enjoyable experience, couldn't want for more. - We walked into a lovely warm cottage, the log fire was lit and we had beer and wine in the fridge, there were chocolates on the table and everything to make a lovely breakfast supplied in the kitchen.
The cottage is spotlessly clean and very comfortable. Nothing.
- Helen (10/5): Exceptional -
- Karlene (10/5): A fantastic bungalow, everything you need and more. - Absolutely everything! Clean, warm, comfortable, size, amenities, gardens, host, area…. Just everything you could want in a rental. Absolutely nothing to dislike, even if you tried!
- Meryl (9/5): Absolutely lovely from start to finish. Photos don’t do the place justice - Hosts contacted me plenty of days ahead of arrival with the code and details of how to get in
- Aaliyah (10/5): Hospitality was perfect 👌 Can’t wait to come back🫶 - Very cozy, had everything I could possibly need.
- Jane (9/5): Superb -
- Mark (10/5): A lovely property in an ideal location - Everything location, facilities, clean, lovely selection of food and drink and very dog friendly. Helpful host. I use Booking.Com a lot and this has to be the best place I have stayed Nothing
- Maggie (9/5): Superb - Very spacious and well equipped with lots of little extras.
- David (10/5): Exceptional -
- Vivian (10/5): Pleasant, comfortable stay, with unexpected nice touches. - The host left the ingredients for a full English breakfast which was unexpected, also sweets in the living room, toiletries in the bathroom. The host was easily contactable. Clean, comfortable stay. We liked it that much, we've booked it again. Thank you Mark.
- Alex (10/5): Exceptional -
- Goncalves (10/5): Lovely cozy cottage. - Owner left breakfast stuff inside the fridge and chocolates on the table in the living room. Perfect. Our dog loved the area outside. All good.
- Maxx (10/5): Hidden gem in wonderful surroundings - Everything, the Mrs and I stayed here for the first time over the weekend, this place has been renovated and finished to the highest standard. The ever hospitable Mark is a fantastic host and couldn't have done more to make our stay any more special. We will 100% be staying here soon
- Esther (10/5): Exceptional -
