Guest Reviews
- Kirstie (10/5): Excellent home from home - The location was so picturesque and cosy and quiet ! Felt like home from home .
Hosts contact was brilliant . Beds were soooooo comfy linen lovely biggest towels we have ever come across . It was sooo homely and warm and just perfect for what we needed . Nothing
- Remi (9/5): Perfect place for exploring England’s North! - Very well equipped house, clean, nice environment, conveniently located near the highway - less than an hour from Hadrian’s Wall and Holy Island
- Randeep (10/5): Beautiful, spacious and idyllic - The property had everything we needed. It was well decorated, spacious and set in beautiful surroundings. The beds were super comfortable. We were very happy with how well stocked the bathrooms and kitchen were; the hosts had really thought of everything. There were books and board games to keep us busy as well as a great Wi-Fi connection for various apps on the TV. Although set out of the hustle and bustle of the city it was well located for a trip in. The host was attentive and messaged us to check we had everything we needed.

- Linda (9/5): A lovely little cottage in a restful setting. - Very clean, modern, nicely presented. Welcome wine an appreciated touch. Comfortable beds, big towels. Quiet location. Enjoyed watching the mower! A few more kitchen implements e.g. sieve, larger pan/stock pot would be good, we did cook and it was a bit limiting.
The gap in the shower tiles/grout in the corner needs sorting, water will definitely be going down there.
An OS map would be a good addition.
- Heather (10/5): Warm cosy cottage. Kate & Mark exceptional hosts and always respond immediately. - It’s a beautiful immaculate cottage in a perfect location to explore Newcastle and Northumberland. Many quality restaurants close by.
- Christine (10/5): Quality accommodation - Location;tranquil, quiet
Comfort;furniture, beds, garden chairs
Quality; linens, pillows, beds, fixtures etc
Shower; fab water pressure, space, fixtures
Communication; frequent, friendly Steep staircase; we're mature&arthritic!
No shelf/space in shower for shampoo etc...all on floor. Again we have restrictions....but there is space there...
- Mclennan (10/5): Duckhouse Review - The cottage was lovely. It was warm, clean, furnished to a high standard, and had everything we needed for a few days away. The beds and bedding were comfortable, and there was plenty of hot water and a powerful shower along with good quality fluffy towels.
All the little extras that the owners had thought to provide were appreciated. The large umbrellas when it rained, the torch and first aid kit ( we didn't need it, but it showed they had thought of everything) along with the games, books provided.
The area is lovely, plenty of walks to do. Cows in the field at the bottom of the garden, a rabbit hopping across the garden, and a bat circling the cottage late at night, all made for an idyllic setting for a short break.
Outside seating area was lovely, a sun trap through the day, and although we didn't use the barbecue, it was nice to have the option to if we had wanted to.
Coffee machine with pods, selection of teas, and a bottle of wine and biscuits waiting for us arriving were welcomed.
We'll definitely book again.
