• Christine (9/5): - Laid back, relaxing, little oasis! Located in a side path, so you don't see a lot of people pass. Loved the polite, friendly and reflected employees, as the two house cats. One feels welcome and taken care of. The bungalows live up to an expected standard and have everything you need. The pool is an additional pluss. Thank you for this wonderful stay. I will be back. There is nothing I can come up with.

• Isabelle (10/5): A smooth stay with great facilities and fabulous staff - Everything about our experience at Melmay was smooth and easy - from checking in, to breakfast and our room being cleaned, to extending our stay. The rooms are great, clean and well-maintained, and importantly (!) the air con is lovely and powerful!! The bed was probably the largest we’ve stayed in (it was majestic) and the room was wonderfully furnished with useful storage and a fridge. On-site facilities to fill our bottles with drinking water was also really, really useful. Big thanks to Agung for being such a great host and taking such good care of us, especially as our flights were cancelled and we had to figure out various changes. We just felt really safe and cared for, and would absolutely come back to Melmay in the future.

• David (7/5): War gut - Die Unterkunft ist sehr gut gelegen. Es ist eine kleine aber Sympatische Anlage. Die jungen Männer die da arbeiten waren sehr freundlich aber manchmal auch etwas unterfordert. Es gibt leider eine laute Baustelle gleich neben an. Manchmal Wifi probleme.
• Théo (5/5): - L'hôtel est correct, à 3 minutes à pieds de la plage. Nous avons dû prendre des douches froides car l'eau chaude est quasiment inexistante et une drôle d'odeur dans la salle de bain.. Ensuite l'extérieur est tout petit il n'y à que la piscine et deux transats. Je suis quand même déçu car nous avons pris un autre hôtel sur l'île pour moins chèr et il était beaucoup mieux, grand jardin à deux pas de la mer beaucoup plus de confort et de l'eau chaude. La taille de l'extérieur. Le manque d'eau chaude à la douche. L'emplacement, pas en face de la mer.

Évitez d’exploiter les chevaux ne prenez pas les cidomos. Personnel pas très attentif (n’aide pas avec les valises et nous a regardé comme des débiles quand on a demandé ce qu’il y avait comme jus au petit dej. « Bah des fruits » oui, donc quels fruits ?)

• Cecilia (9/5): Heerlijk! - Dit is een van de betere accomodaties waar ik mocht verblijven tijdens een reis door Indonesië. Ontzettend schone fijne kamer, hele goede airco en ruime badkamer. Er is een lekker zwembadje om af te koelen en het personeel maakt simpele, maar lekkere ontbijtjes klaar. Ze helpen ook met het regelen van bijv. snorkel tours en het huren van fietsen. Het verblijf ligt iets rustiger gelegen en op ongeveer 20 minuten lopen van de haven. Als je een fiets huurt ben je overal met 5 minuten. Ik heb een heerlijk relaxt verblijf gehad. Ik kan het niet genoeg aanbevelen!
• Vanesa (10/5): Great stay! - We loved: •breakfast •very close to the beach (turtles!) •very kind staff •very clean We didn’t like that before we came to the place they recommended us taking a horse carriage. I heard other guests say they didn’t like that either. I understand that this is a “traditional” form of transport, but the horses are waiting in the heat half of the day and are actually very small. So please next time maybe recommend walking or renting an electric scooter which is more animal-friendly.

• Domink (9/5): Schöner Aufenthalt - Die Unterkunft liegt im Osten der Insel, welches in unseren Augen der schönere Teil ist. Man ist gleich beim Sonnenauf- und untergang. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich. Es gibt Refill Water sowie Kaffee und Tee zu jeder Tageszeit. In der näheren Umgebung befindet sich eine gute Pizzeria sowie Pachamama, zwei in unseren Augen sehr gute Lokale. Des Frühstück könnte abwechslungsreicher sein.

Staff got us some bikes for transport and suggestion for restaurants and booking return transport to Lombock. We stayed 5 nights and breakfast menu only had 3 options so maybe we would have liked a few more options.

• Jana (10/5): Wunderschöne ruhigen Unterkunft - Sehr freundliches Personal, schön gestaltet mit viel Liebe zum Detail. Nah am Strand, haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt und würden sofort wieder kommen. Frühstück könnte etwas größer sein, vor allem der Obstteller war sehr klein.

Super tranquilo y cómodo. La atención excelente,siempre atentos a lo que necesitáramos. Queremos dar una mención especial a Yoopi quien fue muy amable y nos hacía los mejores zumos de naranja y piña. El desayuno muy rico y variado también ,preparado en el momento y todo fresco. Esperamos volver pronto y lo recomendamos mucho!!! Todo perfecto!

Most important room is very clean and nicely decorated, You are not directly on the beach which is actually good because it’s quite all the time but with beach is only some minutes by bike or walk. Also is very good distance to restaurants. Nothing
• Kevin (7/5): Séjour correct mais rapport qualité/prix décevant - Dans l’ensemble, ça va : la chambre est spacieuse et le personnel reste très sympathique, comme toujours à Bali. L’emplacement est pas mal, à moins de cinq minutes à pied des beaux spots de Snorkeling. Nous trouvons que le rapport qualité/prix n’est pas du tout adéquat. L’hôtel est beaucoup trop cher pour les prestations proposées. • Il n’y a aucune intimité dans la chambre : pas de voilage ni de rideaux légers, donc soit vous laissez tout ouvert et tout le monde voit à l’intérieur, soit vous tirez les rideaux opaques et il fait complètement noir. • La douche est mal conçue : de l’eau partout après chaque utilisation, le sol devient vite glissant et sale. • Le petit déjeuner est passable et très limité, avec uniquement du thé ou du café soluble comme boisson chaude. Pour comparaison, au même prix nous avons dormi dans un hôtel à Gili Trawangan avec un standing bien supérieur. (Pearl of Trawangan)

• Julie (8/5): Good rooms, great location - Great location on the northern side of the island - handy for both sunrise and sunset beaches. Staff were helpful. Great to have the water cooler for topping up our bottles. There was no fridge, safe, or hairdryer in the room which is the first time I’ve come across this in Bali, especially in this price range for rooms. These amenities would be very useful and perhaps could be provided in the future.

The room was clean, and the decoration was tasteful and refined. The swimming pool was very much appreciated after some good sunbathing and snorkeling. It’s hard to describe the vibe of this place — it was just magical. There is only 5 rooms,quiet and peace place. Agun was so friendly and welcoming. All the staff took great care of us. • Enikő_k (9/5): Superb - The staff is super friendly and helpful. The breakfast is tasty. It is few minutes walk from the sea, there are several bars, restaurants. The turtle beaches are basically next door. The alley to get to the property is still to be developed. In the evening it's dark without any lights, no concrete road so in rainy season it gets muddy. It is on the norther part of the island which is less developed, however by bicycle it is super comfortable to access anything.

• Mia (9/5): Peace and quiet on Gili Air - The location was very peaceful - far from the morning mosque prayers and close to the beach. Really friendly staff and delicious breakfast. There were also some adorable cats living on the property (not strays). Clean rooms and clean pool It is about a 30 minute walk from the port, which is pretty hard with a big backpack but there is still a dozen restaurants within a 15 minute walk and you can rent bikes at the property. We did have one gecko that came into our bathroom through the open windows ( no fan in the bathroom) but the staff were able to get it out quickly and easily.
• David (10/5): Would stay again! - We really like the staff - they speak English too The pool was very nice. The room was comfortable and cool. The breakfast was varied It was quiet as we were a long way from the mosque. They have a water dispensing machine that does hot/cold/normal and a supply of tea and coffee available free of charge. They have a couple of friendly cats. There were a few occasions when smoke wafted in from bonfires elsewhere but this didn't stop us from extending our stay to 9 days (from 5) and most of the time it was fine. And obviously not the fault of the property.

• Annemieke (10/5): Come as a Guest, Leave as a Friend - Staying at Melmay was a wonderfully intimate experience. From the moment we arrived, we felt welcomed by the warmth and natural friendliness of the team. The breakfasts featured homemade bread, the pool was refreshing, and the bungalow was clean and comfortable, equipped with Wi-Fi, air conditioning, hot water, a TV, and a fridge. With only four bungalows, Melmay offers a quiet and relaxing retreat. We look forward to returning and are thankful to the team for making our stay so special and memorable.
• Stephane (10/5): Amazing stay at Melmay - Very nice, clean, and modern (we were there in December 2024). Very quiet too, as this is a fair distance from the mosque (it never woke us up). Very friendly staff. Four good breakfast options. We had an amazing stay. Thanks a lot.. Note, for those who care, the shower is on salt water, but not a problem for us. Pachamama restaurant that is just across the road is also fantastic. The only minor thing that is missing to make it truly perfect would be to offer some cocktails at the bar, by the pool 😄
• Eva (10/5): Amazing place for those who prefer relaxed and friendly atmophere :) - I cannot describe well enough in words how amazing stay I had in Melmay. It was definitely the nicest experience during my visit of Indonesia. Agung, Dady, Joe and Iwan are extremely helpful, make you feel very welcomed and they make sure you have everything you need. Also they have a cute kitten Koala. :) I felt there like at home and I wish I would not have to leave. There is a nice swimming pool where you can hang out. Breakfast are also very tasty, you can choose to have an omelette or smoothie bowl and during day you can have water, tea and coffee for free. Rooms are nicely decorated, there is silent A/C and you can ask to have the room cleaned every day. Also, it is conveniently located approximately 500 m from beach and turtle spot. There are 4 bungalows in total, so it foes not get too crowded either. Everything was great. :)

Everybody was super helpful, my husband got sick and they arranged for the doctors to come to the hotel. We where very grateful for the help and happy that we where in such a lovely place so he could recover.
• Bev (10/5): Melmay made what was already an unforgettable dream holiday just a little bit more special ❤️ - On arrival this property had such a chilled atmosphere. We were welcomed with some jamu, loaded with ginger and turmeric goodness, I felt relaxed immediately ❤️ staff need a mention, they made me and my daughter 9years feel so welcome, they made sure we were safe and have fantastic recommendations for days out. The breakfasts were something else! The banana and coconut smoothie bowl for me and specially requested banana pancakes for my daughter, all requests met with a smile! Truly memorable stay we will be back!! Nothing everything was impeccable.

The problem with this place is that is totally overpriced. If it was announced as what it is, a simple, superficially renovated but totally decent bed and breakfast with good breakfast and no room service, it would be ok. It is a nice place. We just found the place overpriced, since we have stayed in catered villas with private pool for less. Is that perhaps the island price? If they adjust the price we would be happy to come again.
• Gemma (10/5): Absolutely loved this place. - I have just stayed at Melmay which has recently been renovated to a great standard. From the moment I checked in I felt right at home. The staff were amazing and accommodated to my every need. I went to watch sunrise as it is just down the road. I usually skip breakfast but I am glad I didn’t with this one. The scrambled eggs with homemade toast were fantastic. Highly recommend.
