- Daniele Gaudreault (10/5): Loved it!!! - The place is amazingly cute and cozy. It’s also absolutely beautiful as it is an ancient colonial house. with interior garden. The garden at the back is really nice. I stayed 2 weeks because I felt at home. Very clean, hot water and pressure in the showers. Kitchen well equipped. And above all the host Monica is super welcoming, caring and friendly. Close to center but far enough to be quiet. Loved, loved the 3 cats Miré, Lemon and Selba. Really enjoyed my stay at LuzArt. 100% recommend it!!!

- Dvir (1/5): - It's a nice hostel, but the owner is anti-Israeli, I highly suggest for Israelis to stay away from this hostel.

- Valerie (10/5): Fantastic, cozy, felt at home - This was one of the best hostels ever. I immediately felt at home.It is in the centre of jardín, but still quiet due to it's backyard. There is plenty of space, so you can connect with others but also have space for yourself! The owner Monica is pure vibes, she makes you feel so welcome, thank you so much and helps you if you have any questions!! I had an amazing stay and stayed an extra night because it was so cozy!!! Very clean, plugs to charge your devices everywhere, lovely garden to watch birds... Nothing
- Apolline (10/5): Cosy and welcoming stay in Jardin - The place is amazingly cute and cosy. It’s also absolutely beautiful as it is an ancient colonial house. The garden at the back is really nice. Kitchen well equipped. Beds and dorm clean. And above all our host Monica is super welcoming and friendly. We highly recommend this hostel !

- Superbe hostel, personnel adorable,
- Elia Biccari (10/5): - Magic place with garden in the middle of Jardin.

- Sylvie (10/5): - Tout
- Marion (10/5): - Au top du top! Il faut y aller pour comprendre ! Gracias Monica si lees el mesaje ! Y un abrazo de Manolo 😉 Rien
- Philipp (8/5): - The place is very beautiful and cozy, there is a nice living room to hang out. The large and well equipped kitchen advertised on the picture is actually not for use for the guests, it’s only for the owner. The guests have to use a different, small and poorly equipped kitchen which gets very crowded. I think it’s a bit unfair to add pictures of a fancy kitchen and then not allow the guests to use it.

. Pues que me tuve que ir.
- Paula (7/5): -
- Jason (8/5): - Beautiful place and the lady was nice and quite attentive. Cats were adorable too. Location is a block away from the plaza. Price is extremely affordable and very cost-effective. Service wasnt really slow but could be faster. Internet is OK but I dont recommend it for remote work. If your room is close to their pretty garden, you might attract insects to your room and I think I had some bug bites. That last specific issue was the main reason I had to deduct my score.
- Daan (9/5): Relaxing and everything that I needed. - A relaxed place, beautiful garden. A very kind hostess The room was basic, but still really enjoyed it
- BONALAIR (AFM) (9/5): -
- Lopez (3/5): No volvería - El lugar estaba limpio. Solo iba a dormir.
- Paola (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jasmin (10/5): lovely hostel with beautiful garden - lovely stuff, beautiful garden, very clean common areas, very central
- Jiya (8/5): Peaceful cute hostel in an old traditional family home, friendly host and cute pets - Very friendly host Monica who was chatty and always up to share a glass of wine, and friendly staff who were very helpful and warm
Cute cats and a dog
Beautiful scenery within the hostel, lots of places to hang out
Met a great couple whilst there and we went on a coffee tour and dinner together so for me as a solo traveller it was good!
Great location a few mins from the main square
Free Gaza sign on the front door 🇵🇸✊🏽 Not the fault of the hostel but there was one day where there was no running water for about 12 hours from 9am - Monica warned us the night before so we could plan to shower before 9am but I was under the impression there’d be water in the bathroom tank for flushing the toilet etc but this ran out very quickly after 9am.
Pillows were a bit uncomfortable
The hostel doesn’t have activities planned so if you’re a solo traveller then it’s a bit more up to chance who you meet. When I was there it was relatively quiet. Then again Jardin is not a touristy area so there’s probably less going on generally. I really enjoyed the peace there
- Andres (9/5): Superb -
- Federica (9/5): Superb - Lovely courtyard and spot overall and Monica was so welcoming and nice!! Very glad I stayed there Even for the rooms with private bathroom, the shower is detached from the room. The room isn’t really well insulated so bugs can come in especially if you leave the lights on
- Jane (10/5): Totally charming - The place was absolutely charming.
Loved the people, the garden, the cats the artwork.....
Also loved Jardín and the surrounding countryside. All good
- Michael (8/5): Great stay in the heart of Jardin - The host is friendly and a real character. The place is very comfortable and chilled out. The pets are fun to play with too. Our laundry was done on site with no problems. The location is on a quiet road so not woken by cars. The rooms are fairly basic
- Pavel (10/5): Exceptional -
- Janet (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful old spacious hostel. Large rooms with 3 beds, wooden shutters to open to the street. The open air kitchen has a view to the surrounding mountains. Very close to entrance for hikes and town square. Nothing
- Pavol (10/5): Exceptional - Please at lockers. With lockers it will be for mé 100% amazing place
- Erin (10/5): Best hostel! - One of the best hostel I’ve stayed in! Monica was so welcoming and accommodating, really made it feel like a home. The space is lovely with the patio and garden which was so peaceful. The kitchen had everything you need and there at 3 cats and the cutest dog there! No bunk beds which makes for a good nights sleep and it’s very easy to socialise
- Brian (10/5): Exceptional - A beautiful colonial house just one short block from the main square. The host Monica is such a welcoming person. The place is super clean and the beds are comfortable. The shared kitchen is well equipped. Jardin is one of the most beautiful friendly places in Colombia. Go there and stay at LuzArt.
- Neil (9/5): Superb - A great hostel and the owner is a gem! She was super friendly and let me practice my Spanish, also was concerned that I'd grazed my knee, so sweet!
Perfect location near the start of the trail up to Jesús.
Very clean and a nice garden with lots of sofas and the pets are super cute.
I'll come back if I can! ❤️🙏 The only missing thing is toilet seats 😅
- Patricia (10/5): Exceptional -
- Luis (10/5): Exceptional -
- Rami (10/5): Beautiful peaceful oasis in jardin - Monica is an incredible host, helping you plan any activity around jardin with the right contacts. The place is tranquil with birds serenading you in the morning. Highly recommended.
- Lena (10/5): Home in Jardín - Monica is the heart of the house. It was like coming home from the first moment. The hostel is so central and yet it's super peaceful. The patio is just so beautiful to sit in in the mornings, very peaceful cats and a dog of pure sweetness make the place really homely and cozy.
Hope to come back to this place.
- Grigoriy (7/5): Good - The place is ok, clean ans basic. Can’t complain for the price. The host is nice.
- Julia (9/5): Superb - Nice location, staff and facilities. Adorable pets
- Metalbiker (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sarah (9/5): Superb - Monica is just the coolest with her little army of pets that will make you feel right at home. The house is exceptionally decorated and the garden is simply a dream. Despite being clean too. I loved arriving at LuzArt after being in noisy Medellín. The kitchen could use some better equipment; toilet seats should make a comeback; please oil the hinges.
- Benoit (9/5): Superb - Nice common areas and spacious dorm room. Clean, hot shower and a kitchen.
- Guillaume (10/5): Exceptional -
- Moritz (10/5): Exceptional - Had a wonderful stay at Monica and her lovely pets. She's an amazing and caring host. The accommodation is beautiful and authentic and close to center and hikes. Furthermore met some great travellers :) That I stayed too short
- Ashlea (10/5): Exceptional - Wonderful and friendly staff, beautiful views of the surrounding mountains.
- Robert (10/5): Great view, great value - Great view of the mountains from the porch outside my private room. Close to the main square. Really friendly staff. Nothing
- Harald (9/5): Superb - Good Location.
Nice staff
It's a very special and calm place
- Junyu (10/5): Exceptional - The location, the property and the owner Monica. Literally everything None
- Samuel (9/5): Superb -
- Antonio (10/5): Exceptional -
- Charles-edwin (9/5): Superb -
- Ahmad (10/5): Exceptional -
- Elizabeth (10/5): Exceptional - Monica emanates love and kindness which made both of my stays at LuzArt so great. Everywhere is immaculately clean. The beds are comfortable and there's a nice social area with sofas and a dining table and chairs. I particularly love the fur babies :)
- Anaïs (10/5): Exceptional -
- Deewm (9/5): Great location and beautiful garden - Great location, friendly staff, comfortable bed, beautiful garden, and good kitchen facilities the toilets didn't have toilet seats
- Viktoriya (9/5): I advise this guest house, I’d come back again, hospitable host and A location - It’s a beautiful colonial type house. In reality it’s better then in the pictures. Spicy rooms and big beds. Nice garden , though be careful of mosquitoes and flies there. Nice small kitchen and a few areas to take food A bit noisy and snells petrol if you stay in the room closer to the street.
- Sam (10/5): Exceptional -
- Thomas (10/5): Best place to stay in Jardin! - Such a lovely house - great location to explore the town and the surrounding hills, but also a lovely space to relax and read a book. Three cuddly cats and a puppy were the cherry on top!
- Rob (10/5): Exceptional - Monika is a brilliant person and this house is very special. It felt at times more like a really good air BnB than a hostel as there weren't loads of travellers staying for much of the time I was there - but those who were there were mostly lovely and it was good for socialising. As other commenters have said, the house itself is actually an antique, a piece of local history, and very beautiful. The old pictures on the wall in the dormitory are of Monika's great grandparents who founded Jardín. Monika has a heart of gold and is a vibrant character within the fabric of this paradise town. She went out of her way to help me with whatever I needed. Her puppy and two cats are so cute too. Beds are basically double beds. Rooms get cleaned every day. Beautiful garden out the back too for chilling/eating breakfast etc.
- Kaddddi (10/5): Exceptional - Large rooms, comfortable beds and it was cleaned every day. The location is also very good and the owner is very nice. There was soap and towels and the shower was hot and spacious. The kitchen for visitors was a bit small. The large kitchen in the pictures was not for guests. Unfortunately, no coffee.
- Margeirsson (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful home and very nice stay. The owner and host Monica is amazing. Very friendly and helpful. Highly recommended. The only thing I didn't like was that I didn't stay in Jardín longer. Amazing town.
- Moe (9/5): Superb - *Nice quiet hostel in Jardin.
*Everywhere is well cleaned.
*There is a place to hang clothes after laundry outside.
Note: Laundry cannot be done at the hostel.
*Monica, the owner and a cleaning helper lady are always friendly.
*You can use the small space of a fridge. *the hot water didn't come in the 1st bathroom.
Note: there are 2 other bathrooms, but it should have been mentioned upon check-in.
*The top of the door is open and cannot be closed, so you get bugs from outside especially when you turn on the light. Since there is a tiny space to get the sunlight, it's very dark during the day if you close the door.
- Morten (9/5): Superb - Situated very central in town. A very charming, old building kept very nicely. The owner is wonderful and a good laugh.
- Kristina (10/5): Exceptional -
- Grace (9/5): Would recommend - We had a room in the garden which was really nice and quiet. Good location close to the centre but also not loud. Bedroom was basic but comfy! Good value for money. Cooking facilities weren’t great as we weren’t allowed to use the main kitchen, just a small kitchenette. Furniture in communal areas is not that comfortable for hanging out.
- Francisco (10/5): Nice place, I will come back. - Host was very nice and attentive. Place was very clean and organized. location was perfect, it was close to the center of the town and all the restaurants and other amenities. I will come back.
- Charlotte (9/5): Superb - Beautiful garden, exceptionally clean and a funny host.
- Paola (2/5): Very strange and disorganised booking management - Well located. It’s a big open house turned into a hostel with good sized beds, a nice back garden land tons of cats. I made a booking in a dorm and a soon as I arrived the owner of the property told me that there were no more beds. I tried to explain that I had a confirmation for my booking but she kept telling me that there were no beds. Talking to other guests, it seems to be a recurring issue to mess up the bookings. In the end, she ended up offering me a bed in her own room, with another girl that was put in there because her booking was also not considered. Needs better organisation.
- Andrea (5/5): Disorganized and inconsiderate - Really beautiful courtyard, lots of space to sit and chill. Beds were twin beds and not bunk beds, bathrooms were pretty clean. Generally good facilities. Checking in was odd, door was open when I arrived (usually closed), and I didn't know who to talk to.
After waiting, I was told the hostel is full although I made a booking. She said I could stay at the hostel the next day. For that night, I stayed at the owner's sister's place to stay, was put in a loft above the kitchen with 3 twin beds (I was the only occupant). I didn't like this because I booked a hostel to meet people, which I couldn't do there.
At night, I talked on the phone, and people staying at the house told me I couldn't be so loud (at 9:30PM) because people were sleeping. What?! Mind you, I had booked a hostel and I've never been told I can't talk on the phone at a hostel before. You made a mistake and I can't do what I want?
The next morning, I was heading over to the hostel when the sister's family told me the hostel is full AGAIN. What?! They contacted the owner's nephew, who takes care of reservations, and he said there was a cancellation. So, I went over but when I arrived, the owner said there's no cancellation. The owner gave me her bedroom in the hostel and slept in the common room. At least I got a bed and I was in the hostel. This happened the night before for 3 and another was in her bedroom with me due to overbooking again.
The owner also told me that I couldn't keep talking on the phone here (or that I can't be loud?), which meant the family told her. The owner also told other people at the hostel that I did this, which I disliked. You made a mistake which resulted in this, not my problem.
My last day, I finally got a hostel bed. When I got up the next morning (I wake up pretty early so I was sitting on my bed awake by 7AM), the owner came to ask me to leave my bed at 8AM because they wanted to take the sheets. The owner was also super inconsiderate of the person still sleeping, as she was telling the cleaning person what to do and was pretty noisy about it.
- Thomas (10/5): Lovely place - We had our best moments in Jardin, Monica's home is at the same time quiet, peaceful and full of good energies, i think everyone who comes here asks Monica after few days, to stay more nights!
Thank you Monica for your energy, stories and informations to discover this place !
- Livia (10/5): Beautiful quiet place in Jardín, better than most popular hostels - The owner Claudia is very nice, I had a private room with my own bathroom for a good price, the garden area is beautiful. It's right in the center.
- Shifu (9/5): Superb -
