Guest Reviews
- Claire (2/5): Needed to stay for location but wouldn’t recommend - Location Grim decor, narrow bed too short. Not very clean.

- joe (1/5): - The food was absolutely brilliant fair priced and very tasty all homemade beautiful Accommodation was dirty toilet didn't work and kept over flowing the TV didn't work draws broke over all very poor
- Ronan (1/5): -
- Carla (1/5): Nightmare - Absolutey filthy I didn’t even stay I left 2 minutes after going into the room and went and found another hotel. I have never in my life seen such filth ! Not fit for a pig Filthy bar and room
- Stuart (10/5): Pleasant - No breakfast provided Room could have been cleaner

- Albert (5/5): Goedkoop is miskoop.
- Amanda (1/5): -
- Aziz (3/5): - Nothing No road kerb access to all parts of packing, No toilet tissue paper No towel no soap no fan no service , no toilet exhaust no room bin , no friendly staff 😞
- Peter (8/5): Convenient - Breakfast was not being served but the evening meal I had in the restaurant was superb and very good value There was only one light in the room and only one switch for the room and the bathroom which was not near the bed
- Tony (8/5): It was ok for my needs - Cheap hotel what I needed Small tv
- Gerard (6/5): Good base for a visit to friends or family. - The location is brilliant. Not only is it perfect for Eaglescliffe Station but it’s also handy for restaurants, Preston Park and Yarm. Temperature of the bathroom. It was too cold to have a shower and there were no hooks in the bathroom. We weren’t provided with any more milk/sugar/Tea/Coffee than would last the first day.
- Peter (6/5): Ideal location to catch the train and good price for the room - The location near the station The lighting on the room some were not working
- Jackson (5/5): Any port in a storm! - Nothing really except for the convenience. I was there to attend a funeral and convenience was the only thing that mattered. The instant hot water was good. The room was dingy and could have been more cheerful. There was no bedside lamp, which I consider essential.
- Darron (9/5): Superb -
- Darron (9/5): Superb -
- Darron (7/5): Good - It's a pub, what's not to like Nothing really
- Darron (8/5): Very good -
- Matthew (8/5): Great place! - Great location. Property was clean, safe. Single bed was rather small and a bit shaky.
- Mick (3/5): Very basic but could improve - When the restaurant was open, the food was really nice. Shower was hot Floor board in front of the shower was broken, generally mucky all around, spoon for coffee facilities was mucky.
Towels had a really fowl smell and made me gag.
- Rob (1/5): Bad - Nothing the place was dirty, after 2 days I asked the manager to clean the room he didn't so I left. I went to another hotel in the area which was much better. I wouldn't stay there again. The spider webs have been there since last Halloween. He had someone else in the room I had when I tried to return the key.
- Gordon (6/5): Pleasant - Location was good and there was a pleasant pub Very small room that needed maintenance as it looked and felt a tatty bed was not comfortable
Definitely had an unkept feel about the room
- Liz (7/5): Good -
- Mark (7/5): Cheap and cheerful - It had a pub there and a shop next door You get what you pay for I guess. I was happy as it was just to sleep and shower. Floor in the bathroom needs fixing.
- Ed (2/5): Very poor - The room had numerous drink spills on all flat surfaces not wiped.dog hairs on carpet not hoovered. Only 2⭐️ but even so
- Hollas (8/5): Basic but comfortable - Basic but comfortable. A lovely bar downstairs with a great restaurant. The staff are friendly and accommodating. Excellent value for money, and only 100 yards from the railway station. Dog friendly too which was a bonus for me. Everything was adequate for the money spent if you just need a bed for a night or two.
- Ray (6/5): Pleasant -
- Frank (5/5): Satisfactory for a short stay, with expectations in line with the reasonable price charged. - No breakfast was provided, it was bedroom only; (for breakfast, for an extra cost, there was a independent restaurant nearby.) The hotel was very convenient for the railway station and there was a convenience shop and and a choice of a few cafes/restaurants close to the hotel. The hotel did provide evening meals (although I met up a friend and we took our meals elsewhere.) Satifactory tea/coffee making facitilities were provided in the room. There was a separate private entrance for the guests. Very little noise was heard from outside the room, even though it was a public house as well as a hotel. The price was reasonable for the accommodation provided. The room was fairly basic. It consisted of a bed with sheet and duvet and two fairly flat pillows. There was no bedside table and no bedside light. Illumination was provided from a low wattage bulb ceiling light. (A table and wardrobe were provided and were useful.) Shower facilities were provided (including towels) and the shower was effective, although the fittings to the shower cubicle required attention. A television was provided, but was inoperative because there was no remote control. The room itself had no windows; the view from the one window (located in the bathroom) was uninspiring. Overall, the room and facilities reflected the reasonable price charged.
- Daniel (5/5): Cheap but not that cheerful. - Its a cheap room so didn't expect much. And the location was pretty good with nice cafes and a one stop across the road. Nice area generally. The room was actually quite fusty smelling on arrival. Only one socket across the room where the kettle was plugged into a multi socket. The toilet was probably the biggest issue. It was lop sided because the floor had sunk on the one side which meant you were battling to stay on the loo. It was also not fixed down so wobbled around. Not great. Probably an easy fix too
- Andrew (1/5): Bad -
- David (3/5): Poor - Nothing Money hungry landlord with grotty rooms and poor hygiene.
- Gar567 (10/5): Exceptional -
- Mick (2/5): Don't go there - Nothing really Small dishevelled room, poor decoration, dusty and a broken TV.
- Catherine (3/5): Poor -
- Gar567 (9/5): Superb -
- Stephen (10/5): Exceptional - I stayed here for work. Firstly the owner Jim couldn't do enough to help. Anything I needed he was quick to sort out. Location is great with food in the pub below or 5mins down the road you are in yarm where you have to much to choose from.
Shower was hot and powerful, room was clean and it was quite.
Price was excellent for what you get.
I would definitely stay here again.
- David (3/5): cold draft spoiled the experience - Cold draft from windows and under door not currently suitable for winter occupation
All was as described but for this cold room even when the central heating was on
- Conroy (7/5): Good -
- Kim (4/5): Disappointing -
- Alice (9/5): Superb -
- Meg (7/5): Highly recommend, affordable and friendly - Let me stay with my cat, was super affordable and the staff were amazingly friendly. Were flexible and let me extend my stay a couple days Was a bit noisy with the window open but not too bad
- Gar567 (9/5): Superb -
- Barry (8/5): Staff food great - Lovely staff food and accommodation The room was very spacious but the lighting was very poor in the bedroom and terrible in the bathroom
The dressing table had no seat so couldn’t use it
- Tetiana (8/5): It was lovely, quite and comfortable - The room is isolated from nice,we liked the design, spacious, close to the railway station, friendly staff. Noise in the bath..
- Janine (10/5): Exceptional -
- Martin (6/5): Pleasant - Onsuite shower and location Close to train station Room could do with a renovation
- Robert (5/5): A lovely place let down by a few simple things. - The chef was off, there was no breakfast. Or evening meal. The toilet let out an ear piercing scream every time it was flushed. This sound persisted for several minutes and was impossible to sleep through. The worst thing about it was that it would take even an incompetent plumber 10 minutes to fix!
The lighting in the bathroom was very dim, and again, a simple change to LED lighting would have resolved the issue. Just general maintenance , really.
- David (9/5): Superb - Friendly staff and great food
- Gabriel (3/5): Poor - Food was delicious and flavouring to complex taste.
Limited time of service but delightfully cooked The place lacking any type of maintenance. Not excessively dirty but all amenities old and not fully functional. No soap in the bathroom. Toilet flushing broken at first flush, windows in the toilet and shower room sealed off and no ventilation, all steam and smell went in the bedroom, and over night felt like some bugs or crumble under the bed sheets...to our surprise mattress looked like been stored outside or in slaughter house.
Really offensive
- Martin (8/5): Very good -
- Dean (9/5): Superb -
- Pritchard (7/5): Was good if was just looking for a bed to sleep in - Having my own washing and shower facilities. 1st night room was cold 2nd night was lovely and warm. The tea tray was not replenished each morning and the TV never worked and 1 light was not working
- Kalekezi (4/5): Disappointing -
- Kalekezi (3/5): Poor -
- Rebecca (5/5): Disappointed but couldn’t complain the price was fair - It was more for people who are working but it was late in finding somewhere at short notice. We were made welcome but we had no heating nobody came near our room the days we were there for
- Mark (8/5): Very good -
- Miles (10/5): Exceptional -
- Marilyn (5/5): Passable - It could have been a bit cleaner
