No reception or front desk It is required that BOOKING.COM verify the details and include in the list. I had trouble to get the location. After finding I observed that it is on the hill uneven planes and noticed danger of falling. No street light upto 500 MTRS. You can't go in the night. I did not dear to stay and stayed in another hotel
• magaly (6/5): - 5 sterren voor de concierge: Hari. Hij is daar continu 24/24 en altijd bereikbaar via whatsapp. Aangename jongeheer! Voor het verblijf: Geven we maar 3 sterren. We verbleven voor 2 nachten in de basic 3 persoonskamer. Eenmaal we toekwamen, zag de tuin totaal niet verzorgd uit. - De airco op de kamer konden we niet uitzetten, reageerde niet op het bakje. - we hadden geen warm water om te douchen. Wanneer dit werd gemeld, was de uitleg dat er geen brander aanwezit was in die kamer… Voor het douchen mochten we in een andere kamer. Wat vreemd dat je dan uitgerekend deze kamer krijgt terwijl we de enige gasten waren die er verbleven… - het ontbijt was niet slecht maar ook niet super. Wat aan de droge kant en ook niets van drankje erbij. - je verblijft op 8 minuten wandelen van het strand! Wat wel dichtbij is maar het hotel ligt in een afgelegen grind straat met bijna geen verlichting. Voor de prijs dat je betaald is het niet super slecht, maar de foto’s op booking zijn toch wat misleidend.
• Adrian (10/5): Great Place just 10min away from the beach - We stayed at the Woody Crest Hotel and are very happy we choose this place in Trincomalee. It is just a few minutes away from the Most Beautiful beach and Hari, the man working here is so kind. He gave us a tasty breakfast every morning and he is always so polite. When we arrived we asked him if he had some water and he directly went to the neighbour to get some for us. So we are very happy and would come back again😊 -

• Martina (1/5): Horrible experience. Do not recommend this “hotel” at all. - Nic We booked 2 nights here and traveled 6 hours by bus from Jaffna just for a weekend to stay in Trincomalee. We were completely exhausted, and when we arrived in the morning, we found out that Woody Crest Hotel had sent us a request to cancel our reservation – at midnight, just a few hours before our arrival! Before that, we were receiving messages about WiFi, 24-hour reception and other details about the accommodation. But once we got there, the place was empty. No one was there, no one answered the phone, and obviously there was no 24-hour reception. When we finally reached them by message, the only reply we got was: “sorry, your room is under reconstruction.” Clearly a lie, since there was nobody at the “hotel” at all. I even messaged again asking if they were joking and what we were supposed to do now – and they just ignored me. A few hours later, instead of helping us, they sent a request for a 5-star review for our “delightful stay.”

• Angelo (5/5): - Host disponibile, camera spaziosa, rapporto qualità/prezzo accettabile a Trincomalee, posizione vicina alla spiaggia La camera, fin dal nostro arrivo, non si presentava in buone condizioni: pulizia scarsa, numerosi insetti a causa della finestra del bagno che non si chiudeva, tende rotte, e sia cuscini che letto presentavano macchie. Nel complesso, l’aspetto generale della stanza era trascurato e poco accogliente. Non c’è uno spazio dedicato alla colazione: l’host la porta direttamente in camera, ma non rispecchiava gli standard attesi e il vassoio restava in camera per tutta la giornata.

Nous avons eu notre chambre inondée à cause de l'évacuation des eaux bouchées et une énorme pluie. Nous sommes rester sans électricité toute la nuit et la matinée. Ils nous sont dit que c'était da s tout le village alors que c'était faux. Le petit déjeuner très minable. Nous avons eux le droit à 4 morceaux de pain et de fruit.

• Flóra (8/5): - Terasa, čistota a pohodlná posteľ - priemerné ubytovanie splnilo očakávaný štandard. Slabá angličtina personálu. Stiesnený priestor pre 3 ľudí. Raňajky na izbe, ktoré sme nemali kde zjesť, pretože v izbe nebol dostatočný priestor (v izbe boli iba 2 stoličky a my sme boli traja). Raňajky boli chutné, ale zároveň skromné (spoločná polievka s jednou lyžicou pre 3 ľudí). Pod pojmom anglické raňajky si oni predstavujú iba toast natretý maslom. Boli sme zmätení zo servírovania raňajok, pretože všetko jedlo bolo na jednom podnose. Slabé osvetlenie v kúpeľni a slabý prúd vody. Niektoré zásuvky nefungovali.
• javier (1/5): Very bad - Nothing To begin with, the site doesn’t have the best access—it’s a dirt road with lots of potholes. We were in a small car and decided to park at the entrance to avoid damaging it. The rooms don’t match what you see in most of the photos; they’re smaller and don’t have good views. The ones with balconies face a field where they throw trash… and that’s the best-case scenario, because one of our rooms was on the ground floor and only had a sliding door that opened onto that poorly maintained garden. Both rooms were dirty and smelled strongly of damp. There were no towels, and when we asked the staff, they only brought us two (we were four people). The worst surprise came when I dropped my phone in the gap between the bed and the base and found an unopened pack of condoms. Still, it was disgusting.(Picture adjunted) As for breakfast, we weren’t given any information. On the first morning, we were woken up at 7:15 a.m. by someone knocking on the window to give us a tray of pancakes. Communication with the staff (there was only one guy) was poor since he didn’t speak English, just a few words. In short, a bad place to stay in general ( On top of that, it’s not particularly cheap compared to other places) Nothing like the photos, poor cleanliness and communication—definitely not recommended.
• Mauro (7/5): Discreto soggiorno per una notte - Stanza molto spaziosa e comoda per l'accesso alla spiaggia ed ai servizi, pochi minuti a piedi. La struttura non era sufficientemente pulita, il piccolo tratto di strada sterrata per raggiungerla non è bellissimo. Il telecomando del climatizzatore non era funzionante. Il futon utilizzato come terzo letto non è il massimo, ma per un paio di notte si sopporta tranquillamente. Stanza comunque consigliata per due persone. • Quentin Pissot (7/5): Bonne localisation - Bonne localisation, près de la plage d'Uppuveli. La chambre était spacieuse, et la salle de bain bien agencée. Belle vue depuis le balcon. Notre hôte (Hari) était d'une incroyable serviabilité et gentillesse, et était disponible pour répondre à nos besoins. La route d'accès est non goudronnée et l'hôtel est peu identifiable. Pas d'espace commun, le petit-déjeuner se prenait donc sur le balcon.

• Ryan (4/5): Room for improvement, but I'd stay again - Balcony view is very nice, a lovely place to enjoy a coffee. Room is very nicely sized. I was placed in the non-premium room despite having paid for it, for which the owner compensated (argument for not having been placed in the room I'd paid for, but I liked how the owner handled things to put things right as best he could under the circumstances). Needing to ask for expected tea and coffee. Not being provided with expected toiletries. Room wasn't the cleanest and I question if the sheets had been changed at all prior to my arrival given hairs found on the pillows. Power cuts perhaps to be expected and they don't have generator; maybe though I just got unlucky over the few days I stayed.

• Amila (9/5): A lovely stay overall, with great potential—just needs some small improvements to reach its full charm. - the room was very spacious and had a lovely view from the balcony, which we really enjoyed. The property has a peaceful atmosphere and is located in a quiet yet convenient area—very close to the town centre and all its amenities. We had a generally pleasant stay and appreciated the helpfulness of the staff. However, there were a few small areas where things could be improved. The floor didn’t seem to have been properly mopped, and there were no tea or coffee making facilities or water bottles in the room initially—we had to request them separately. Additionally, the included breakfast felt a bit too basic. It consisted of string hoppers with very limited side dishes and was served in takeaway-style plastic wrappers, which took away from the experience.

• Christopher (7/5): - Room was large and lots of area to hang clothes up to dry after the beach. Location is a bit remote from the beach and a bit of a walk. Wifi was good and bad some times.
• Tara (5/5): Great views but a bit rough around the edges - Location was lovely - a small walk into the town and to the beach. It was nice to be a bit removed for a more peaceful vibe. The view from our room was stunning too - you could see across all the green trees and catch a glimpse of the sea in the distance. There was a really cute dog outside the property who was clearly nervous to say hello, but was still happy to see you. The staff member was very attentive too, he gave us his phone number so we could reach out if we needed anything. His boss, the main number for the property, was very quick to attend to issues with the WiFi too. Ants! So many ants! They got into the mini fridge where we were storing snacks, they got into my rucksack, all across the bathroom, into my water bottle, in the bed, and across the whole room. We also had breakfast included which the staff member told us was at 8am. We didn’t realise it would be delivered to us, which was very kind. However breakfast was just a roti with a sauce, and a few mouthfuls of soup. To the point where we’d still have to go buy breakfast as this wasn’t enough food. I had also contacted the property in advance to check that the WiFi worked as I needed to do some work. The property owner assured me it would at a speed of 100mbps. Upon arrival the WiFi didn’t work most of the time, apparently they were doing repairs to the internet line down the road. The owner put me in touch with the next door hotel who very kindly let me use their WiFi instead. When the WiFi did work, it was very slow and I found the best reception was when I was stood outside by the front gate which doesn’t work great for doing a meeting. Aside from these points, we had a lovely stay.

• Laura (9/5): gerne wieder! durch die Salamander im Zimmer nicht stören lassen :) - sehr sehr netter und zuvorkommender junger „Herbergsvater“. Frühstück Zimmerservice, holte anschließend Frühstück immer wieder ab. kümmerte sich um Handtücher, WLAN, brachte sogar unsere Wäsche aufs Zimmer als sie vom Balkon geflattert ist:D war immer vor Ort, ließ uns unser Zimmer in ein Zimmer mit Balkon und Kühlschrank wechseln. Deckenventilator und Klimaanlage die Lage war nicht ganz optimal, relativ abgeschieden. zum Strand etwa 10-15 Minuten Laufweg, wir haben uns einen Roller gemietet das war super man darf keinen großen Komfort erwarten, es gibt keine Pflegeprodukte oder ähnliches

Quizá la ubicación, un poco lejos del centro de tricomalee aunque cerca de la playa, hay que coger camino de tierra para llegar a la carretera principal y el tuc tuc no llega hasta el alojamiento. No agua caliente pero como en prácticamente todos los alojamientos de esta categoría.

• Denisa (9/5): Krásné a příjemné ubytování nad městem. - Krásné ubytování blízko města na kopci. Pán co se tam o to stará je velmi milý a přátelský. O cokoli jsme požádali nebyl problém. Snídani jsme měli do pokoje a byla vážně dobrá,porce tak akorát. Vybavení bylo v pořádku,měli jsme všechno co jsme potřebovali. Koupelna byla krásná a tekla i teplá voda,což je na Srí Lance dost ojedinělé. Parádní balkón pro večerní relax. Byli jsme moc spokojeni. Cesta do ubytování je velmi špatná. Je to nezpevněná a dost hrbolatá cesta. Tuk tukem jsme měli co dělat,ale vyjet se to do toho kopce dá. Snad to bude časem lepší.

Хороший, вкусный завтрак Долго разбирались с горячей водой в ванной, персонал не провел инструкций, но он сразу предупредил, что недавно здесь работает и заранее извинился, был несколько дотошен, мы были измотаны дорогой и не настроены на беседу.
• Bryan (8/5): Nice stay but... - The property is in a quiet place, 10mins walk from the beach, the breakfast is nice, local and simple. In terms of wifi, plugs for your equipment it was perfect. A net on the bed to avoid mosquitos would be great otherwise it's difficult to sleep well We could not figure out how the hot water work so it was cold during our entire stay The room itself was not very clean. We understand we are within the nature but honestly a lot of improvements can be done on this aspect.

• Dushanthi (4/5): We are not recommend for a family stay - Overall we are not satisfied with their hospitality Disappointing Experience at Woody Crest – Not Recommended Our stay at Woody Crest was far from enjoyable, and we definitely cannot recommend this place. The road leading to the property was in poor condition, making it difficult to access. Once we arrived, we found that there was no water available for the upstairs rooms, which was extremely inconvenient. On top of that, there was no soap provided in the rooms, and the overall cleanliness was lacking. The garden was in a terrible state, looking messy and neglected. Additionally, there was no designated area for breakfast, either in the room or outside, which left us scrambling for a place to eat. We also experienced issues with the hot water, which didn’t work until the very last moment of our stay. We had come with our parents expecting a comfortable and pleasant stay, but unfortunately, Woody Crest failed to meet even basic standards. Given the poor condition of the property and the lack of amenities, it was definitely not worth the money we spent.

Tivemos um problema com o quarto que nos foi apresentado (bomba de água ao lado da janela, fazia muito barulho), e prontamente o funcionário troucou-nos de quarto. Café da manhã típico mas suficiente. Quarto com varanda, vê-se um excelente nascer do sol, ar condicionado muito bom. A pressão da água é muito pouca, não aciona a bomba de água quente.

• Thusithe (1/5): It was a terrible experience - Don't go to this stupid place. At the very first there was no parking for the vehicle. We had to park the car on the road. There was a person at the site and he was sleeping at the gatehouse when we reached the place. He took us to a room with very untidy surroundings when we went there. The room was full of small flies and they had even not swept the floor or washed the bathroom. There was full of feces in the bathroom. We booked a triple room and there was a queen size bed and one futon single bed under that bed without bed sheets and pillows. When I inquired about the bed sheets he brought a bedsheet and pillow and threw it onto the bed and went off. The room was offered including breakfast and I told him that we were leaving at 7.30 am and to keep the breakfast ready by that time. When we checked at 7.00 am he was still sleeping and we had to wake him up. And the worst part of this was he said that there is no place to buy breakfast for us and he offered me Rs.500.00 for the breakfast for all three people. If you need to experience the worst day of your life you may choose this place to stay a single night. Nothing. Worst place I ever found

• Deva (8/5): Value for money and good location - Calm location, clean room. The staff was very polite and helpful. The room and bathroom were spacious. There were good restaurants nearby, we loved the seafood. A couple of good beaches nearby. Food could have been a little better, would have loved a dressing table. A third chair would be better in a triple room.

• Christian (10/5): Sehr zu empfehlen! - Schöne Unterkunft am Hang gelegen, mit tollem Blick aufs Meer. (Balkonzimmer) Das Apartment ist gut ausgestattet, manchmal war das Wasser weg, das Personal hat sich direkt darum gekümmert. Der Mann am Eingang ist super freundlich, immer da und kümmert sich direkt um alles. Die Lage ist sehr gut, da man zu Fuß schnell am Strand ist und trotzdem etwas abgelegen und dadurch ruhig. Der Besitzer der Unterkunft hat uns einen Schnorcheltrip vermittelt und einen privaten Fahrer, der uns bis nach Arugam Bay gefahren hat! Vielen Dank! Sehr zu empfehlen. Das Frühstück war sehr einfach.

• Beatrice (5/5): Ci vuole molto spirito di adattamento per soggiornare in questa struttura - Purtroppo non ho commenti positivi in merito alla struttura. Il ragazzo all’ingresso fa il massimo per essere gentile e organizza una colazione in camera. Magari siamo stati sfortunati ad avere la camera al pian terreno ma la piccola palazzina era circondata da pietre e spazzatura al punto che ho dovuto suggerire di raccogliere un po’ di plastica da davanti la nostra stanza. Il bagno non si chiudeva e la porta in plastica suggeriva che i lavori erano in corso d’opera. Ragnatele ovunque e insetti di ogni genere in camera. Aspettatevi sicuramente un ottimo prezzo ma consapevoli che ci vuole un grande spirito di adattamento. Noi abbiamo persino chiesto il cambio camera ma date le prenotazioni di quei giorni non è stato possibile accordarlo.

• N (5/5): Niet zo best - De airco kan door blijven draaien wanneer je de sleutel meeneemt. Het onderstaande klinkt een beetje negatief, verwacht gewoon niet teveel. Aangezien de recensies positief zijn had ik wat anders verwacht. De muren in de kamer zijn vies, mijn kamer had geen balkon, of buiten. Wat ook niet erg was aangezien het niet de moeite is om buiten te gaan zitten. Vieze tuin met overal zooi. Het ontbijt is iedere dag twee pannenkoeken met rijst en een banaantje, iets anders is niet mogelijk, je krijgt een paar theezakjes aan het begin van je verblijf, om thee te zetten moet je wel zelf water gaan halen in de supermarkt begin van de straat. De beste man is niet van het vroege opstaan, als je vraagt of het ontbijt om 8 uur mogelijk is krijg je het alsnog om 8:45uur. Dit is niet handig voor een geplande activiteit. Het hotel ligt afgelegen in een donker straatje.

• Rob (6/5): - Het hotel ligt op een rustige plek maar wel op korte loopafstand van de hoofdstraat en strand. De conciërge deed erg zijn best het ons naar de zin te maken. Het hotel ligt op een heuvel waar geen fatsoenlijke staat naartoe gaat. Lopend prima te doen, met een auto zou ik het niet doen. Toen wij aankwamen was de plank waar waterkoker, glazen ed. volgens de foto op hoorden te staan leeg en er hing een lege rol wc papier. Nadat we de fotos lieten zien en er om vroegen ging de conciërge alles snel regelen, maar toch.... Het ontbijt was wat de conciërge smorgens beneden bij een kraampje kon krijgen (2*rijstpannekoeken, 1*suiker pannenkoek, en wat bananen). Drinken moesten we er zelf bij regelen
• Katrina (10/5): Peaceful and Relaxing - The owner/manager, whilst not on site, was very responsive through the booking dot com message system. The employee was super helpful, bringing me bottled water and answering helping with directions. The hotel was quiet and peaceful, the aircon was great during the hottest part of the afternoon. Just a little far out from the town, so food options were limited in the evening unless you take a tuk tuk to the town.
• Laura (6/5): Unpersönlicher Aufenthalt - - Grosses Zimmer - A/C - Aussicht über Trincomalee - Warme Dusche Verglichen mit anderen Hotels in Sri Lanka, war dieses eher lieblos und unpersönlich. Dies lag wohl auch daran, dass die Kommunikation mit dem Housekeeper etwas schwierig war. Was auf das eher kleine englisches Vokabular zurückzuführen war. Ebenfalls war der Besitzer nie vor Ort. Das Frühstück konnte nicht überzeugen, so dass wir nach Breakfast Places in Trincomalee suchten.

• Rosalieke (9/5): Prettige en comfortabele kamer - Mooie ruime kamer met comfortabel bed. 5 tot 10 minuten lopen naar het strand. Personeel is zeer vriendelijk en behulpzaam. Niets.

The breakfasts need some thought for different tastes. Only Sri Lankan breakfast was available (curry, hopper). We asked for toast and coffee but it couldn't be done.
