• Hardeep Singh (1/5): - Our experience at this motel was extremely disappointing due to the lack of professionalism and respect for guest privacy. Firstly, the manager/owner entered the apartment using his own keys without knocking or informing us beforehand, which was highly inappropriate and made us feel very uncomfortable. Privacy standards at this place were unacceptable. Secondly, we politely requested an additional 10–15 minutes to vacate the apartment, which is generally considered reasonable across most accommodations in New Zealand. However, the manager refused and demanded a $150 late checkout fee. The interaction felt very rude and unprofessional, and it appeared that the main concern was collecting the extra charge rather than handling the situation respectfully. What made the situation even more unusual was that when I agreed to pay the amount, the manager insisted on immediate payment instead of allowing payment at the time of departure. All of this occurred around 10:20 AM. Overall, the behaviour and customer service were very disappointing, and we did not feel respected as guests. We vacated the property at approximately 11:30 AM after paying the requested $150 late checkout fee. However, the situation escalated further after we left the motel. The owner approached us at the intersection just outside the property, where he stopped his vehicle and demanded proof of payment. After we showed him the payment confirmation, he became aggressive and started shouting loudly, questioning how we “dared” to leave a review for his business. During this confrontation, he repeatedly used insulting language, calling us “stupid,” “idiots,” and other offensive names. As the situation became increasingly uncomfortable and felt unsafe, we asked him to leave immediately. Before leaving, the owner made racist remarks towards us, including statements such as “bloody Indians” and other abusive comments. His behaviour was completely unacceptable, unprofessional, and discriminatory.

• EssJay (10/5): Fantastic location, everything we needed for our three days in beautiful Paihia.Easy to walk to town - We were advised that the door would be unlocked and keys on the table, but the door was locked when we arrived so we called the owner and he arrived within minutes with the keys. Great service. More hooks in the bathroom for towels and stuff.
• Wanita (8/5): Might not look like much on the outside but inside was clean and cosy! - I enjoyed being able to hikoi tō the beach and swim , close to convenience store, cafe , gas station, fish and chip shops, walking distance tō Waitangi and Paihia township. Very clean and comfortable, easy check in , welcoming host, bbq available, private outdoor area, shower pressure was the highlight off the room. Bring extra towels if going to swim at the beach. Although we didn’t need extra towels as the weather turned up, beach towels required. Parking is also roadside, seemed like a safe area though. No ac unit but heater and fans were provided.
• SHAUNA (8/5): - The location was exceptional. The facilities were clean and the bedrooms were quiet and comfortable. Sunny, light-filled kitchen made for lovely, long breakfasts. When booking, the screen showed a red highlighted section of the building which we assumed was out booking. We were disappointed that we were placed in a position that appeared to be the only one with no view.

Žiaľ, druhú noc sme mali za susedov nenormáne hlučnú partiu mladých ľudí, hudbu a krik bolo počuť asi do druhej-tretej (áno, mohli sme kontaktovať majiteľa, ale nechceli sme ho budiť).

• Anne (8/5): Nice location to explore Paihia - Fantastic location for the beach and getting around the area by car. Far enough off the road not to have traffic noise. Comfortable, compact place with well equipped kitchen. The glasses in the cupboard were all dirty ( covered in finger prints) and some of the cutlery was dirty. Unfortunately during our stay the apartment above ( also in the same complex) was occupied by a group of very noisy heavy footed youngsters.

It had ample supplies and facilities to enjoy a meal in whilst being perfect location to enjoy the local Paihia town Can’t say there was anything we didn’t like
• Giulia (7/5): Homey modest accomodation in a lovely area of Paihia. - If you like swimming & quick easy access to beach - well located. Just walk across the main road. Although other swimming areas (you are following the coastline) they are closer to marina. Not enough cooking pots/pans if you want to cook. Only 1 pan & 1 pot. Lack of privacy in the partitioned outside/sitting eating area each room has on ground/entry level. Slatted partitions in place but easily see through these. This is easily fixed; for those staying as can peg a towel on slats. No cleaning service during 3 night stay ie bins, which fill up easily if you cook, were not taken away. Likely to be hot in room in full on summer months. No aircon. There is a fan. Fan light did not work.

Bed was comfortable. The room was for 2 guests and was quite small. There was no room to put 2 cases without restricting access inside.

• Claire (8/5): welcoming, clean and easy accommodation with a super host - highly recommend! - Our host, Pete, was warm and friendly and we immediately felt welcomed. The location and views are awesome with a lovely grassy park in front of the property and then the beach! It was very clean and had a lovely bathroom and decent kitchenette with things like washing up liquid, tea, coffee and milk etc and laundry detergent for the washing machine all provided. Pete recommended Island Getaway for an afternoon’s boat trip and it was fantastic. A highlight of our holiday. Mention Pete’s name and you might get a discount! Unit 8 was the smallest (we think) and at ground level so didn’t benefit from as good a view as the upstairs units. The sofa bed was ok for one person but might not score highly for comfort for two!

• Michael (1/5): Suchen sie sich eine bessere Unterkunft für diesen überhöhten Preis - Nichts, absolut nichts!! Apartment 7 Teppich, Sofa, Sessel, Tassen alles verdreckt. Der unfreundlichste Vermieter den wir je gesehen haben. Wenn sie den Schmutz kritisieren, schreit er sie an. Er meinte, das ist schon seit 2 Jahren so dreckig!! Ein Motel im nirgendwo, zum halben Preis ist 3x sauberer als dieses in die Jahre gekommene Apartment. Das ist keine 400—600$ die Nacht wert. Die Hälfte wäre für dieses verschmutzte mehr als genug.
• Kirsty (7/5): Despite a very wet few days in Paihia we enjoyed our stay here. - Good location. Easy access, spacious and well equipped. Nice beds. 1. No emergency instructions noted. We had emergency warnings sent via text msg during heavy rain & told to prepare to evacuate. But we had no instructions on where to go should that have happened. 2. Shower poorly designed. Water pooling under the shower curtain and all over/around the toilet. 3. Dryer - could not stop cycle and unlock door to remove items. No instruction manual to help.
• Ben (8/5): A bit disappointing. - The location was good. Clean and tidy It's not what I thought i had booked, perhaps I should have contacted the host to clarify the exact apartment I had booked. I think the photos on the advert are misleading and misrepresent the property and it should be made clearer. No outside space that we could spend time together aside from a long narrow balcony was a real disappointment. If you're going to book this apartment make sure you know what you are booking.
• Deborah (10/5): Perfect stay in Paihia for self catering. - Great room, all the facilities you need to cater for yourselves, added bonus of BBQ, laundry and great toiletries. Shower was super powerful. The location is perfect for the beach
• Ines (5/5): - Die Wohnung war feucht und das Bett extrem unbequem. Vielleicht lag es daran, dass es zwei Tage lang durchgeregnet hat, aber aus dem Waschbecken kam braunes Wasser und auch die Schränke und alles war nass.

• Patricia (8/5): A much needed, relaxing stay that allowed us to unwind after a long year of hard work. - The location was ideal, and the property was very well maintained. We particularly enjoyed using the patio barbecue and dining outdoors at the garden table. The host was welcoming and attentive; when we accidentally left a scarf behind, he contacted us promptly, allowing us to return and retrieve it. The only drawback was that the number of towels provided was insufficient, with no spare towels available.

Good water pressure in the shower. The windows need locks so that you can have them open for fresh air flow. Extra blankets for both bedrooms would be good. More than one bathroom towel per person would also be good.

• Emily (9/5): Perfect place for large group - Perfect place for a large group of our 3 families to stay all together but with comfortable separate sleeping areas. Fabulous location and seafront views. Very clean, great facilities!

• Sylvia (7/5): Studio - für bis zu 2 Gäste gut geeignet - Die Lage direkt am Strand Die Kommunikation mit dem Vermieter war schnell. Wir hatten diese, für 3 Personen angebotene Unterkunft gemietet. Für unsere Bedürfnisse mit 1 großen Rucksack, 2 Koffern und Handgepäck war dieses „1Bedroom -Appartement“ mit 20 qm zu klein. Ein runder, zu großer Ess-Tisch machte den Platz noch kleiner. Schlafraum, Wohnzimmer und Küche in einem. Es gab kein zusätzliches Schlafzimmer. Ich habe dem Vermieter vorgeschlagen, das Studio nur für 2 Personen zu vermieten, um solche Unannehmlichkeiten erst gar nicht entstehen zu lassen.

• Miciah (10/5): Paradise away from home - ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Highly recommend, we stayed in the 4 apartment units on the 2nd floor. Location was perfect, off the Main Street so away from the hustle and bustle but still had exceptional views of the water. 2min walk away from the beachfront, reserve park at the front of the property for picnics and playing sports away from the sand. The place was exactly as described - clean, comfortable and well set up with everything we needed. Beautifully planned out, great flow from indoor to outdoor, and added bonuses like board games and bbq. Host has great communication, made sure to make us feel so comfortable and welcoming. Even followed up on our stay to bring us clean, fresh towels. Overall, this was a great experience and we would absolutely stay here again. Highly recommended to anyone looking for comfortable and hassle-free stay.

• Tracey (8/5): Great location - Great location. Very clean. Lovely, well equipped kitchen with outstanding appliances and all you could need for your stay. Cleanest oven we have ever seen in rented accommodation. Very comfortable, large beds. Large bedrooms. Ceiling fans were a bonus in hot weather. Great bathrooms with hot, powerful showers and complimentary good quality toiletries. Good communication with the owner. Parking was initially a slight problem. Not really a 4 bed apartment but 4 separate hotel style bedrooms and bathrooms situated along a long verandah with a separate large kitchen, sitting, dining area on the end.Would be ideal for 4 couples but a bit difficult to keep an eye on 2 year old and 4 year old once they had gone to bed and the adults wanted to socialise in the evening in lounge. Had to keep doors open in case the children woke. Smoke detectors missing from some rooms. Stained chairs and sofa in lounge.

Views vary depending on room, so check. - The property had a washer and dryer and a lot of useful little touches in the bathroom and kitchenette. Property was listed as one bedroom apartment, it was a studio, no separate bedroom. Maybe that’s a NZ thing.

Our car broke down on the gorge 100km up north from Paihia, Pete (Motel owner) helped us a lot to arrange transportation to get back to Auckland, connected to local road assist to tow our van. I highly recommend this place when you guys visit Paihia. Nothing
