Everything was clean and nothing was too much of a problem for the host. Really enjoyed our stay! It is also very convenient that you can walk to the pool and not have to wait for the busy lift. The building in general can be difficult when waiting for the lifts but a small price to pay.
• Doreen (7/5): FAHomestay 4D3N (28th May 2025 - 31st May 2025) - As we stayed for 4D3N, here are our findings: 1. This unit is at the 7th Floor of The Shore, while the Swimming Pool is at the 6th Floor, therefore it is very near for us to go to the swimming pool using staircase without have to wait for a long que at the elevator. The pool is open from 7.00am to 10.00pm daily. 2. The decorations, lightings make the unit felt cosy, suitable for small family or couple. Basic kitchenware such as rice cooker, water heater and microwave are provided and in good condition. Plates, bowls, spoons, forks, mugs and knife are provided as well, enough for two persons. Youtube and Netflix are also accessible using the Homestay Account. Iron and Iron board are also provided and in good condition. 3. The unit smells good as we entered the first day as there are air fresheners provided in the living room, bedroom and bathroom. 4. Both airconditioners in the living room and bedroom are functioning well accept the batteries need to be replaced. 1. If you bring car and need a private parking space like us, car parks are available in the building but they come with a fee. First 3 hours will cost you RM3.00 and the subsequence hours, you will be charged RM1.00 per hour. If you choose to park outside the building at the Public Parking Area, you will still need to pay the parking fee to the Kota Kinabalu Municipal Council/City Hall using “Sabah Smart Parking App” and it is slightly cheaper. 2. But then, if you choose to park in the building, the carpark doesn’t go up to your Unit Level, the most is up to Level 3. That is still considerable, but the hustles come when you thought the elevator (at any Level that you’ve parked your car at) will lead you straight up to the Unit Level, but unfortunately it doesn’t , you will need to go down to Ground Level, exit the elevator, and move to the another elevator, then only you’ll be able to go up to your unit. 3. The worse was the waiting time for each elevators to reach your level, whether you want to go up or going down. It can take up to 10 minutes or more, at any time of the day or night, worsen during peak hours (check in and check out time). It is so frustrating especially when you have huge/heavy luggages/boxes to carry whereby staircase is not the best option for that. 4. As for the unit itself, little issues only, such as water pressures are low, for example, when you use the shower in the bathroom, you won’t be able to wash the plates in the kitchen sink at the same time. Also, the floor were slightly dusty when we arrived, but at least broom is provided (though its a short broom) 🤭 5. Last but not least, the unit is not soundproof. You can hear people walking along the corridor, passing through the unit, very loud and clear, you can even hear other tenants unlocking and locking their unit’s door. Also, the badside of being near to the swimming pool with the unit is not soundproof, you’ll be hearing loud screaming from 7.
