Guest Reviews
- Robert (4/5): DISAPPOINTING. - STAFF WERE ACCEPTABLE. DESCRIPTION OF LOCATION WAS NOT ACCURATE. APPEARED TO INDICATE IT WAS AN OLLD MANOR.
- Stephen (7/5): - had to leave at 7 so couldn't get breakfast which was disappointing. No way to access breakfast lounge, it was still locked at 7 20.
- Deborah (10/5): Wonderful stay, thank you Caravelli for looking after us and making us feel welcome. - The rooms were nice and big. No complaints, everything meet my expectations.
- James (9/5): -
- Douglas Ian (10/5): A good second stay at a lovely hotel. - Caravelli accommodated our early arrival with storage of baggage and a key foe entry when we arrived back from a dinner with friends in London followed by a coach journey with the group back to Loughborough.
- Philip (10/5): Would recommend - Very pleasant room with very comfortable bed. Food was excellent. Parking was a bit snug.
- Zsuzsanna (8/5): -
- Jo (10/5): Fabulous stay, amazing comfy bed and fabulous food and service 10/10 - Love the property very quaint and quirky. This is my second stay here š. The bed was so so comfy and the food in the Italian restaurant below was outstanding. š The only thing I would have liked is to be able to open a window slightly but I loved the property and loved my room
- Tony (8/5): Generally Good value for - Staff excellent. Menu Food excellent. A little noisy at night. Carpets on landing need replacing. Breakfast was OK.
- James (7/5): - The owner was incredibly helpful allowing me to leave our car at the property early morning for our stay that evening, the continental breakfast was very much appreciated and filling. Although an amazing looking roll top bath is in the room we could not find a plug!! It was late and somebody may have helped us out but sleep was calling.
- Catherine (8/5): Lovely, friendly place to stay - Good location, easy walk from the train station and not far from town centre. The room was comfortable and well equipped. The staff were very accommodating, letting us check in a little early so we could get to a wedding on time. We were directly above the restaurant and it was a little noisy at night. The breakfast was a little basic.
- WHELAN (3/5): -
- Anthea (10/5): Amazing stay close to everything we needed staff were very welcoming and polite - Lovely property , room was amazing , food was amazing highly recommended Nothing
- Andrea (8/5): - staff friendly rooms were clean and bed was very comfy was abit cold in the room wen we 1st arrived in the afternoon and was cold in the morning wen we got up the hotel water was only lukewarm and was abit noisey from the restaurant below but that is to be expected
- Deepak Krishnaa (1/5): Not fit for purpose. - A very noisy stay, as they have a restaurant on the ground floor. Could do better with support staff. Also, they have provided an invoice after repeatedly asking for more than a week. Very unhelpful, even over a telephone call.
- Barrie (5/5): Acceptable basic accommodation with Excellent Restaurant - Room was adequate for a one-night stay but nothing exceptional. Restaurant is the best part as the food is superb. Bathroom impracticable with a dangerous step up from the small bedroom. Bed uncomfortable with nasty polyester-type sheets.
- Anna (6/5): Overall, for a quick overnight stay, the hotel was more than adequate. - Location and friendliness were top notch. Bathroom was simple but very clean, which I appreciate very much. Breakfast was good. The lighting in the bedroom was too bright and harsh. Also while the bed was comfortable, I wasn't able to sleep well as it was itchy, but perhaps that's only for my case.
- Walls (7/5): - The location and free on site parking The bathroom was too small with poor lighting
- gillian (9/5): -
- Sherilyn (10/5): Perfect room perfect food breakfast times every short and checklist - The room was stunning everything we wanted Parking maybe but staff soon helped us
- Thomas (4/5): Looks nice, but noisy - Friendly staff, good meal, nice looking room Single glazed windows onto a noisy street outside all night, thin walls so could hear other guest's TVs, them moving around, slamming doors, until past midnight. Disturbed by (wasn't asleep) music at 7.20. which may have been the receptionist. Disappointed it wasn't clear in description that fireplace ornamental only and doesn't work. No spare toilet roll, just to top it off!
- Gary (8/5): Convenient and comfortable stay. - Lovely spacious and comfortable room and the food was amazing. More clarity about needing to order a cooked breakfast the night before.
- Jason (7/5): Nice hotel. Staff excellent - Room spacious, clean.
Breakfast good
Dinner excellent Plumbing a little noisy.communal stairs a little tired
- JOHN (9/5): Great food and authentic Italian - Restaurant is excellent, authentic Italian. Parking available for overnight stay. Staff are genuine. Almost could be in down town Napoli, just need a Muriel of Maradona. N/A

- Jonathan (10/5): Exceptionally good - I stayed here mon to friday for several weeks business and loved it. Three magnificent rooms - Beaumont Huntingdon and Hastings- above a really buzzy but simple Italian restaurant ( no noise in rooms thouh) and an excellent continental breakfast ( mixed meats/ftuit/ cheese fresh pastries etc and good coffee. I really enjoyed everything, so much nicer than big chain hotels. All the staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. 2 single rooms were too small for me.
- Lauren (7/5): -
- James (3/5): Great restaurant, dreadful place for sleeping - The staff were lovely and the food was excellent in the restaurant (not included in the price, but it's mainly a restaurant and it tasted really authentic and home cooked). The room was spacious and the bedding was clean and comfy. I had approximately 2 hours sleep due to a constant loud sound of running water and clanking from heating pipes and the radiator. I turned the radiatior off but this didn't help. Terrible. Also, the room was very tired with strips of wall paper missing and the bathroom was grubby. For this reason I would avoid this as a place to sleep, but recommend it for the restaurant experience.
- Denise (6/5): Great location but small room - Room small but bed comfy, very small bathroom and shower. Good parking, very central location and very good continental breakfast Size of room and bathroom
- House (9/5): Lovely rooms and a fantastic restaurant, great staff, would definitely stay there again. - Good, continental breakfast, Only issue was a noisy radiator through the night in the double room so sleep was affected.
- Stephen (10/5): A great room, full of character with friendly staff and a wonderful restaurant. - A character property in the town with parking The property is great. I was in Town for business. The Government should revitaliseLoughborough Town and not let it deteriorate.
- Stephen (10/5): -
- Nicole (4/5): bed was comfortable, nice restaurant but a very disappointing stay. we would not return. - nice restaurant and central location filthy stair carpet and smelly, dirty, tatty walls, random furniture in the room, blind broken. desperately needs refurbishing but it could be done without costing a fortune. outside door locked on arrival so couldnāt get in, when we finally did we received a poor reception, no explanation, no apology, no welcome. restaurant looked tired and tatty round the bar area.
- Lindsey (6/5): -
- Beth (9/5): Lovely - The staff were so welcoming lovely spacious room the bed was so comfy, if you get chance make sure to eat at the restaurant the food was incredible
- PAUL (8/5): - Dinner was fantastic
- Nick Payne (5/5): Great location but over priced for the facilities we experienced. - Location was just out of town centre, we didn`t get any traffic noise.
Breakfast was continental (we prefer a full English) but this was very acceptable.
The room was large with what looked like a new carpet.
Parking was easy and free. The room was overly hot, had to turn the radiators down.
A few problems with the room.
The large radiator was constantly gurgling with running water.
One of the bed wall lights didn`t work properly.
There was what looked like a damp patch in the bedroom.
Ensuite shower room was extremly hot, no adjustment on the heated towel rail.
Ensuite door was awkward to open and close due to a dropped hinge.
The extractor fan didn`t work.
Plaster was cracking and a damp patch was appearing in shower room.
Hand shower bracket in cubicle was broken.
- Chris (5/5): - Nice comfortable bed, clean and warm Bad light in bathroom to get shaved, very old TV, no cooked breakfast these days not acceptable
- Stacey (7/5): - We liked the location as its close to the center. We liked the room and it was spacious. The restaurant down stairs seemed to have a good atmosphere. Breakfast was good, plenty of choices. It was a bit hard to check in, as we had to contact the staff to open the door. Once in they were polite and helpful.
- Scott (8/5): -
- Noow (6/5): Adequate for the price, not a hotel just a room over a restaurant - It was as expected, cheap accommodation, adequate room and facilities. No one was around at check-out, but it is a restaurant first, rooms second, I would stay again and would have an evening meal, it look good and was busy. No where to leave my room key at checkout
- Sandra (8/5): - It was very friendly and welcoming environment. We had a great skeep.
- woolley (8/5): Lovely - Was lovely and clean and very nice Breakfast no cooked options very sparse selection
- Morgan (10/5): -
- Jean-Pierre (7/5): -
- Joanne (7/5): - dinner great also had room service on request room really hot although I appreciate everywhere was hot that day
- Adriana (8/5): Lovely atmosphere and great restaurant - I like that it was rustic although it could do with a bit of renovation (the room I stayed in at least). Shower was great, bed was comfortable. I absolutely loved the restaurant, and the location is really good too. Car park is very limited, stairs and hallway leading to the rooms could do with some visual improvement for atmosphere and better impression, room could do with some freshen up keeping the rustic visual.
- Sam (6/5): -
- RENATO (10/5): hotel consigliatissimo, tutto perfetto!
- Lyn (7/5): -
- Samantha (8/5): A charming Guest House - We received a very friendly welcome & stayed in a charming bedroom with a lovely comfy bed! The continental breakfast was perfect. Just the blinds in the room needed replacing as they didn't work.
- Duncan (8/5): - Excellent restaurant, great atmosphere & good food
- Anthony (10/5): Staff very efficient and made us feel welcome very happy with our stay would come again and recommen - It was ok didnāt realise we had to order a cooked
breakfast the night before, but probable our problem as we arrived late otherwise everything was fine There is nothing we didnāt like
- Linda (8/5): - Good selection Fan from kitchen very noisy and heard in bedroom which kept us awake
- Gill (3/5): Never again. - The bed was extremely comfortable. Everywhere looked tired. We ate in their restaurant on Monday night. Neither of us enjoyed our meal. My husband was sick in the early hours of Tuesday morning and has still not recovered (Wednesday).
- Clinton (10/5): -
- john (10/5): -
- Britton (10/5): Beautiful stay - Staff were amazing and helpful.
Location was ideal for my centrally, and room was cosy and quiet. Car park at back was small but plenty parking at front.
- JOHN (10/5): Much better than expected - Location and food superb. All good. Reminded me not to leave shirt in wardrobe. Joking my fault. Brillint break.
- Sam (6/5): -
- Akshay (7/5): -
- Luis (8/5): -
- Guest (9/5): Ideal for a one night stay - room perfect and nice restaurant on site - It was ideal having the restaurant on the same premises. The continental breakfast was fine. It wasn't a problem for me, but not being able to access the building until 5pm could have been inconvenient .
- Wood (10/5): - Perfect
- michael (7/5): Was suitable for the short stay - Would have been nice if a cooked English breakfast was available The room had a funny smell
- Scott (10/5): -
- Nigel (7/5): - QUIRKY ROOM Dirty carpets in the hallway outside the room.
- Gary (9/5): Perfect. The food was fabulous, the people were all very welcoming. - Exactly as it said on the tin. If I was being picky the car park was a little small and awkward to get into.
- Martin (10/5): -
- Gary (8/5): -
- Amanda (8/5): - Very helpful staff, parking and location great. Room clean and comfortable. Breakfast was only continental, which I didn't expect. Photo of the room showed a bath but I only had a shower, which in fairness was in the description... but having MS a bath is easier.
- Sian (8/5): Really comfortable and home from home - The room was very comfortable and had character which was enjoyable. It was quiet and I slept really well. I would go back It is a restaurant with rooms so when the restaurant isnāt open you use the back door. But I liked that I could be independent.
- BALĆİĆEK (7/5): š - Best location Very late check in
Early check out
- Jacqueline (10/5): Would recommend and would definitely return - The property was very easy to find and in the perfect location for us. The room was stunning.
- Clint (10/5): Amazing room, food and bath. - The room was amazing, as well as the food.
- BROWNE (6/5): -
- Ascanio (6/5): Nice stay only downside the smell - Cozy, and nice has a great restaurant underneath The smell coming out from the pipes and bathroom drainage was very strong and unpleasant
- Antony (8/5): -
- Anna (9/5): Excellent friendly place to stay - Great location
Enormous character full room
Comfortable bed Breakfast was underwhelming
- Clive (8/5): Nice place - Friendly and helpful staff. I stayed in a large, attractive and characterful room and had a decent breakfast and free car parking - very good value indeed. Popular restaurant below the rooms offers good Italian food and wine. Stairs need new carpet !
- Andrew (9/5): Clean, comfortable and warm, with excellent high quality food. - Quiet, clean comfortable room, with a large cozy bed. Shower was clean and had lashings of hot water. The (continental) breakfasts were good, plenty of different options. The food in the restaurant was high quality, innovative (not the ubiquitous pizzas and Spaghetti Carbonaras). Portion sizes excellent and the prices were very reasonable. Parking a bit tight, but OK
- John (9/5): Comfortable room, well situated accommodation for Loughborough, - Well situated for town centre, and the Church where we were attending a wedding All was good
- Ria (10/5): -
- Gavin (4/5): Does the job but room for improvement - Good location, most of the staff polite. Continental breakfast available with good coffee. No parking despite parking being listed on booking.com. Communication was also pretty poor; I booked at short notice based on the info available to me, so couldnāt cancel. After Iād booked I got a message from the hotel telling me there was no parking space for the room Iād booked. Replied asking if there was alternative parking nearby and never received a response.
The room had been cleaned but not properly; there was hair all over the inside of the shower and the fan was laden with dust which set off my allergies. There was also a hole in the wall behind the door.
You could hear everything going on in the corridor and the other rooms - I understand that it is an old building so that is to be expected to an extent, but even so, it really impacted on my sleep and my sense of privacy.
- Kay (4/5): This room should not be available to book until the drains and smell are sorted - Restaurant on site was good The room Dispenser (name) has a really bad smell especially in the bathroom. We suspect from the drains, it spoiled our evening.
- Amir (8/5): -
- Sue (7/5): - Helpful staff, comfortable bed and the main room was pleasant , good location The bathroom smelled of the drains, the shower didnāt drain very well and the bathroom was cold
- Jane (9/5): Will definitely stay here again - Great, central location. Room was very clean and bright. Bathroom was sparkling!! Flexibility: allowed me to check it early, and leave an hour after usual check out time X
- Darren (10/5): Very nice hotel perfectly situated for a walk into the town centre and the market hotel is also a lovely Italian restaur - Excellent room large shower and very comfortable bed
- BALĆİĆEK (8/5): -
- Jefferson (10/5): - We arrived a bit later than planned but the check in process was smooth. Staff were welcoming, despite the restaurant being busy when we arrived. The room was lovely, quite spacious and had everything that one would require for a short stay
We had dinner in the restaurant, which was quite busy. We hadnāt booked but the staff managed to accommodate us b6 seating us at a table in the bar area. We enjoyed a fabulous meal, one of the best Italian meal I had. The staff were superb and helpful with the selections from the menu. I will definitely be going back whenever I visit Loughborough.
A Continental breakfast was provided, which allowed for plenty of choices. We were even able to arrange a late check out. I can find no fault
- Luis (8/5): -
- carl (9/5): - Location was ideal.
King double room was very nice The parking was a little tight
The breakfast was only a continental option
- Rebecca (8/5): Convenient and comfy bed - The was really comfy Decor could do with a bit of tlc
- Annable (4/5): -
- Georgina (5/5): - Decor Location tricky, very very limited parking. I had to park on the street and leave early to ensure I didn't get a ticket.
Didn't understand what a vegan breakfast option would be, offered ham...
- Luis (6/5): - The smell of the food from the kitchen. The breakfast was lovely. The heat coming up from the kitchen was overwhelming. The bed was uncomfortable and not enough pillows. The noise going through the radiator was very loud.
- Steve (6/5): OK but not top notch. - Restaurant was quite good Room was rather tired - needs a redecorate and things were rather worn and the carpet up to the room needs replacing.
- Andrew Sparks (10/5): - Excellent in every way... highly recommended. Can't fault it.
- Matthew (7/5): -
