Bathroom was quite small & pocket door a bit fussy to use. No where to unpack toiletries. Also very small closet & a few drawers are not enough space for 2 adults to share

The staff was amazing and very welcoming. From the afternoon wine, cheese, appetizer and cookies to the unbelievable breakfast. Very impressive. Best French Toast ever! Great location to beach, downtown, restaurants and more! We road our bikes everywhere. I look forward to staying at the Avonlea again in the future. The only negative was the bed. It might be time to upgrade the mattress and pillows

The breakfast in the morning was wonderful - you have to try the breakfast potatoes and the blueberry pancakes. Not a big issue at all but the refrigerator to store food and drinks was a bit small. There is room for a taller refrigerator.

The common sitting & eating area was very nice. Wine & appetizers at 5pm was nice and breakfast was delious! The staff were wonderful. There were several places to sit outside and enjoy the view, but it was windy during our visit so we enjoyed the view comfortably from the common area. It was lovely. Can't think of a thing.

Robert (8/5): Great experience, wish weather was better. - Beautiful house right on the beach. It was an easy walk to the beach from a short path off the front yard. The picture on the web site made it look farther than it was. Wine and cheese in the afternoon and free homemade full breakfast in the morning. What more could you ask for? We had a view of the ocean from our room. They had towels and beach chairs for use so we didn't need to bring ours. The room we stayed in was quite small. Basically it was a 10x12 room with a queen bed, and room to walk around it. No space for our suitcases to open up unless you set them on the bed. I recommend getting one of the larger rooms. Weather was terrible the day we were there (no fault of the inn), so hanging out in the room felt cramped, when the only place to sit was on the bed, and it was too windy to use the porch rocking chairs or beach.
Daphne (9/5): Great location and wonderful staff! - The location is fabulous. It's close enough to the Old Harbor to be an easy walk from the ferry and yet far enough to feel quiet and secluded. We had a private outside entrance with a peek of the ocean. Both the breakfast and the afternoon wine hour were fabulous. Served in a comfortable and nicely furnished sitting room, there was an incredible variety of things to try, and the staff were amazingly kind and helpful. The afternoon cookies were my favorite - shortbread with chocolate! We stayed in the Pearl room. It was a bit on the small side, and I would have preferred a better view of the ocean.

First of all you were inaccurate with the address and therefore where we thought where we would be staying. Your inaccurate information made it confusing and upsetting for us. Fortunately we ended up liking where we stayed. But it would have been a nicer beginning if you had taken the time to be accurate. What we liked was that it had parking for us, a deck to view the water, within a few feet of the center, clean and quiet. Great staff. Parking was tight

Beth (10/5): Absolutely perfect! - Sabrina was welcoming to us upon check in and had a card wishing us a Happy Anniversary with Prosecco in our room. The room was spacious and exactly the Block Island coastal feel we were hoping for. The location is great! Short walk to the ferry and bars and restaurants. The breakfast spread was phenomenal with a perfect view! Thanks for an amazing stay. We will be back next summer for sure :)
Baker (10/5): Exceptional - Loved the beach access and location made it an easy walk. The breakfast was delicious and the afternoon snack time was perfect. Our room had windows on the main door and the blind over it did not keep out the lighting at night time.

Location and accomadations were really nice. Amazing spot with beautiful views. Quiet enough to hear the ocean waves at night and close enough to shops and restaurants. I hate to say anything negative about Avonlea because we had a wonderful experience. If anything...I would say the towels are scratchy. A little fabric softener would work wonders! Wished there was the smell of bacon in the morning:) Good breakfast but no proteins (meat).

Honestly the property itself was amazing , can’t really say anything negative about it . Just wish it was a little cheaper but I suppose that’s just todays economy we live in !

Desiree ran a tight ship, but was so friendly and accommodating. She let us stay after checkout and use chairs and hang out on porch till our ferry time. we will be back!
Malchow (8/5): Very good - The breakfast was wonderful and plentiful and afternoon snacks and wine were great. The tables and chairs outside were very clean. The location was great with a wonderful views. The staff was very pleasant and helpful. The room was small. The beach area was close and easy to get to but it had a lot of seaweed.
Kathryn (10/5): Felt so lucky to have found this place! - JoAnn was so welcoming and made us feel like family. The location was unbeatable, the amenities were great and we really appreciated the continued use of the facilities after check out. It allowed us to spend our last day kayaking and shower before the last ferry. Our room had light coming in at night. Something to put over the door would be helpful.
