Guest Reviews
- Bridget (10/5): -
- Jess (8/5): A Cotswold retreat - The Raglans is beautiful and set in the middle of picturesque cotswold countryside. The house is well-maintained and very cosy. We had a lovely stay there and all the amenities met our expectations. The location - while beautiful - is quite remote with limited footpaths around and in the adjoining villages. Expect to travel by car unless you're comfortable walking along roads.
- Christopher (8/5): A very useful place to stay to explore the area on foot, bike or by car. - It was a lovely self contained unit within the Cotswolds Water Park The small A road was used by traffic travelling at high speed.
- Laura (10/5): Quiet getaway - Quiet and secluded, yet close to places to visit and eat/drink at.
Very helpful booklet in property and easy to contact owners who responded promptly.
Everything you could want was there and was clean & fresh.
- Léoni (10/5): Beautiful secluded apartment in the Cotswolds - Amazing small apartment right in the Cotswolds. Beautifully decorated with a fully equipped kitchen. There is a lovely pub only a few minutes away, other than that it is fairly secluded.
- Claire (10/5): -
- Rachel (10/5): Spotless, well thought and easy key access - It was spotless, loved the setup, position and the colour /bee theme Roadworks outside but not to do with property, not too disruptive though
- Simon (9/5): - Lovely stop for hiking the Thames Footpath. Great kitchen in particular with microwave, oven, hob and everything else you could need Slightly hard to use heaters
- Cheryl (9/5): Great - Lovely place, had everything I needed. Key lock box was ideal for me as a late check in. Would stay again. Thank you!
- Chelsey (10/5): -
- Ja14 (7/5): - The property is beautiful and well appointed Even though we booked at the last minute the owner should have put on the heating and ensured our stay was comfortable. Owners didn't want to communicate I know there is a way of leaving people to themselves but a welcome can feel more friendly. Lastly cobwebs all around bathroom and bedroom.
- Alison (8/5): - Quiet, clean, comfortable Nope
- Catherine (9/5): Great little place - Had everything I needed I wasn’t sent the key box code. A better description of how to find the property would have been helpful.
- Joanne (10/5): Stayed here the night before moving my daughter into University - it was perfect thank you - Super facilities, clean and comfortable
- Craig (9/5): Bee-utiful stay! - The place was lovely. Real comfortable bed. Parking right outside. Utilities/kitchen all provided. Everything was bee themed, which was bee-utiful. Very close to South Cerney too.
- Lorraine (10/5): It was in a lovely location.had lots of space inside and out and had just about everything we needed - We loved everything about the property
It was super clean
Very comfortable and had everything you forgot to bring with you There was nothing I didn’t like. It was lovely
- Beany (10/5): - Loved it Nothing
- Anna (7/5): Quiet, well equipped pleasant space to stay. - Private, parking outside It was quite cold. Shower died in the morning.
- Billy28 (8/5): - Clean and comfortable place. Nice sitting area. We were hiking and the walk to the property was a bit dicy along the road. There did not seem to be any footpaths as we closer, so that might be worth pointing out. Also need to be a bit careful not to hit head on pitched roof.
- Annabel (9/5): -
- Howard (10/5): Beautiful cottage in a beautiful Cotswold village! - The place is in an idyllic country village in Cotswold country, just a few miles out of the historic Roman town of Cirencester. The owners are lovely, welcoming people. The Exchange is a self-contained little cottage with an upstairs bedroom. The lounge is comfortable with a digital TV. The kitchen is fitted out with everything you need to be self-sufficient with a fridge, oven, modern range AND a washer/dryer. Fully equipped with pots, dishes, kettle, tea and coffee. We can't recommend this place highly enough! 👏❤️👍

- Scott & Gilly (7/5): Raglans overnight - Quiet location. Rural, outdoor seating area. Entrance/ exit onto a v busy , fast blind bend. No road mirrors to see oncoming traffic.
- Ed (10/5): Very spacious, everything you need, lovely outdoor area, privacy and responsive host. - Spacious, everything you need, lovely outdoor area, privacy and responsive host. Thanks. We had to drive around a little to locate the property.
- Tanya (10/5): Second time I’ve booked & wasn’t disappointed. Highly recommend this property. - It was finished to a high standard. Very cosy with beautiful views.
- Steven (10/5): Exceptional -
- John (7/5): Good -
- Robert (10/5): I would highly recommend - Very clean , cosy and quiet. it has everything you might need. Fast Wi-Fi, parking spot, washing machine etc
- Isabel (9/5): Great base to visit the Cotswolds - Great location to visit the Cotswolds area at a reasonable price. The accommodation has a fully equipped kitchen and a nice living area.
We found the bed comfortable and overall found the place very cozy .
There is a parking space in front of the property. There were a few details that could be improved:
Roller blinds downstairs
Coat hanger at the door
Bigger sign of the property name. We found the property easily by checking street view but I can understand it might not be easy to find.
- Bennett (7/5): Good - Spotlessly clean .
Lovely kind friendly hosts There are no curtains downstairs so the whole open plan barn is flooded with light from sunrise , about 4 am so an early start to each day unfortunately.
Heat rises so it's incredibly warm up in the bedroom . There's only one tiny window up there to let the heat out. We had beautiful weather so the barn was extremely hot . The angle of the roof means the bed is tiny , and we are used to a king-size bed so in the heat we found that difficult.
It's entrance/ exit is on a blind bend . There's a mirror across the road but we did have a few close shaves as people drive so fast . Very dangerous.
Having said that the people here were lovely, and very welcoming and kind . The lady watered my plants I had bought at Batsford arboretum which was a fabulous place to visit.
Local pub run by idiots , after a call to ask are you serving food to which the reply was yes , we walked there to be told he couldn't serve us food as he was fully booked for at least two hours . We walked back and shared the emergency pizza I had bought in lidl on our first night
The owner gave us some prosecco to chill out with , after our difficulty actually finding the barn , then the key pad number being wrong on the email so we simply could not get in.
A very stressful two hours tbh.
- Gareth (9/5): Superb -
- David (9/5): Superb -
- Lucia (8/5): Very good - Good location for exploring the Cotswold.
Everything very clean.
You have all you need to stay a couple of days- kitchen utensils, sofa bed, extra towels. We had difficulties in finding the location, it should be a bigger sign or some indicator. The GPS couldn't find the exact post code so we turned around quite a few times until we saw the name and it was day time.
The downstairs room is heated by a radiator which makes a big noise, we had to turn it off during the night so it was cold.
- Luis (9/5): Superb -
- Lorna (10/5): Exceptional -
- Lisa (8/5): Comfortable for our needs and would return. - It had everything you needed for a two night stay. Well fitted out, comfortable and clean.
Most appliances available apart from a microwave. Outside light needs to be working. Was very dark at night on our returns.
- Gareth (8/5): Very good -
- Ahearn (8/5): Little gem - The location is excellent for key areas in the Cotswolds. It is lovely accommodation and I think it just needs a few things added to make it excellent..some coat hooks near the door, a lamp downstairs as spot lights are very bright, a pedal bin in the kitchen and some roller blinds on the downstairs windows..I would definitely recommend a stay here.
- Andy (9/5): Superb -
- Tanya (10/5): Perfect for a short stay or base for a longer stay. - It was perfect! Cost, neat, clean and I would stay again. The photos don’t do it justice. The only issue, but it wouldn’t stop me booking again. It the entrance is a little tricky to find. Look for the silver cones just opposite a Y junction.
- Stewpot (10/5): Exceptional -
- Dimitar (10/5): Very, very good one for this money - Everything else was brilliant. The place was really hard to be found in the dark. It needs at least some lights on the driveway or on the sign, for example.
- Paul (9/5): Superb -
- Martyn (8/5): Very good -
- Mozhdeh (10/5): Exceptional - Veryyyy clean
- Madeline (10/5): Exceptional - Decor and clean and tidy Nothing
- Nick (8/5): Very good -
- Fiona (10/5): Exceptional -
- Darren (10/5): Perfect - Lovely place perfect for a one night stay whilst at a wedding Clean and comfortable and great owners that let us drop things off early. Highly recomended
- James (10/5): A place to stay not to far from RAF Fairford which was ideal as I was attending RIAT with a mate - Beautiful location.
Loved listening to the Owls at Night.
Comfortable bed.
Beautiful clean place.
Lovely big Garden
- 기용 (10/5): Exceptional - nothing
- Martin (10/5): Exceptional -
- Martin (10/5): Exceptional -
- Gemma (10/5): Exceptional -
- Tom (9/5): Superb - Exceeded my expectations, stunning place with so much space and all the utensils to cook and clean, wish I had stayed for longer than a night! Impossible to get a taxi in and around the area. I was attending a wedding and couldn’t get a taxi at all. Luckily the host helped me out but be warned its mission impossible!
- Martin (10/5): Exceptional -
- Martin (10/5): Exceptional -
- Alistair (8/5): Very good - Lovely property, clever use of space and beautifuly decorated. Clean comfy and good facilities Queen size bed; made for a cozy (but comfortable) night.
Thanks for all the extra heaters but possibly a warmer welcome would have been appreciated and I am sure your outside space will be equally wonderful in due course.
- Martin (10/5): Exceptional -
- David (10/5): Cozy Gem - The property was lovely and spacious. Plopped in the middle of the cotswolds with access to everywhere. Parking was great too. Everything you would need to stay for a week especially if you wanted to cook. I wouldn't say "didnt like", just getting out the drive was a little scary as you're on a slight blind bend.
- Baty (8/5): Very good -
- Joanne (9/5): Absolutely amazing!! We had a great time and we saw the northern lights. Local enouh to everything we needed e.g. the pu - The pictures don’t do it justice! Very nice apartment in an excellent location. Everything in there is brand new. It was a bit hot at night, there was a fan in the room but the option of a single sheet rather than a duvet would have been perfect.
- Karen (10/5): Exceptional -
- David (8/5): A very comfortable overnight stop on the Thames path. - Location close to the Thames path was good for us as walkers. The entrance on a corner of a fast main road is rather difficult. Probably worth highlighting that for drivers trying to find the place.
Fittings were to a high standard with plenty of attention to detail and the needs of the guests. Personally I would prefer simpler heating systems with just an on /off switch. Trying to figure out the timer and controller systems on the radiator required a lot of concentration at the end of a hard day's walking.
- James (9/5): Comfortable and pleasant stay - Well laid out, well supplied Nothing
- Baty (8/5): Very good -
- Bob (9/5): Very convenient location to visit iconic Cotswold villages. Excellent facility. -
- Oliver (10/5): Great little stay, I would Defiantly recommend and wouldn't hesitate to book again next time. - What a fantastic little setup. We booked last minute on a whim and still just arrived with ease. We were just looking for somewhere to lay our head for the night but ended up staying until late morning.
I arrived within about 30mins of Booking Via Booking.com and the staff answered my call straight away and provided me with all the details I needed (The details were available on the Booking confirmation I received from B.com (Which I didn't read) although the staff were more than happy to assist)
We didn't look at the WIFI hence I have put N/A As I am very Critical I would say not enough milk provided in the Fridge although I do have 4x cups of Tea Pre 8am so I'm actually grateful that even some milk was provided (I managed 3 cups of Tea).
I cant think of anything else I could Fault.
- Samanmali (9/5): a beautiful little hideout - cozy, private, excellent location
- Patricia (10/5): Has everything that you need in a property, very high quality property. Will be back soon, absolutely stunning place wit - Everything was absolutely great, stunning property, the best I have ever been and I have been in many. Amazing hosting too. The shower regulation, either burning or cold, much likely a easy fix, did not bothered me at all. Amazing property overall.
- Jonathan (9/5): Superb -
- Karina (10/5): Exceptional - Everything was absolutely brilliant Could have been warmer maybe add more rugs or under floor heating even normal heating
- Jon (8/5): Short & sweet - we came to visit friends near Cirencester and the stay was fine thank you. - Good well equipped kitchen.
Own parking space.
Tea pot - which we think is a good touch
Cork screw / bottle opener - another good touch
Everything was in good condition and clean. Please note we’re not moaning just reporting back really -
Damp smell in shower room.
Shower room was quite small.
No mirror apart from a small portable item ( I like to look at myself!!)
Bed was firm which is good but mattress was very soft so much so that you could feel the bed base below through the mattress.
No where to hang coats.
Cold on arrival and could only get a reasonable temperature by putting floor heating on boost and using the convection heater and this is only October.
- Anne (9/5): Superb - A gem of a place - ex telephone exchange building bland and boxy on the outside smart spacious well equipped and cosy on the inside. This was a last minute find a lucky one. We'll located for the lakes and Cirencester , plenty of walks and nearby attractions. Didn't meet the owner Pauline but she answered my online questions promptly and was kind , we had a nice chat with her adult son on leaving who told us anoit it's history. A lovely stay It would be helpful to turn the bedroom light on from upstairs as well down although there are 2 bedside lamps so it's not a major issue
- Erika (8/5): Very good -
- Johanne (8/5): Comfortable, great location and very clean - Very clean. Excellent location If I really have to be very picky needed a hanging rail and a bread knife
- T (10/5): Comfortable, relaxing space as a base to explore the area. - Clean, had character, everything I needed for a comfortable stay. We struggled to find the entrance but that may well have been us getting confused.
- Hill (10/5): Exceptional - Incredible location No faults
- Dan (10/5): Great property in a fantastic location. - Clean and tidy property in a fantastic location. That the stay was only 2 nights and not longer!
- Anonymous (10/5): An absolute fantastic gem of a place. I will definitely stay here again. - I liked everything about this property. Spacious and contemporary. Very modern and clean.
- Debbie (8/5): Very good - Great TV
- Joshua (8/5): Very good -
- Stephanie (9/5): Beautiful accommodation with everything you could need - Beautiful accommodation in a lovely little village with a nice pub. Had everything included that you could need. Done out to a high standard and extremely comfy. A little bit noisy with the traffic when trying to sleep but would still definitely stay again, it wouldn't put me off personally. Even though the hoists were fantastic giving us directions it still took us a good hour to find even with the help of the locals but maybe that was just us.
- Jane (9/5): Thank you for a pleasant stay - It was recently refurbished, very clean and well equipped
- Brookes (10/5): Cotswold Tardis - Fantastic place to stay, very modern and homely. Nothing, the accommodation was great.
