Guest Reviews
- Callum (10/5): Really enjoyed our stay here. Great base to visit all of Shetland - Ideal property. Ideal location. All facilities. Everything was good
- Michael (10/5): Beautiful views with comfortable beds - Beautiful views. Lots of space for a larger group. Nice layout of the house.
- Willmott (9/5): Excellent property, stunning Islands and freindly locals. - The property was spacious and bright. The views of the bay were magnificent. It was warm and cozy even when there was a storm outside. Great facilities just down the road in Brae, so you will want for nothing. Even the Chip Shop informed you which vesssel caught your fish supper. 4 adults, Easter 2026, Lots to visit on Shetland without the crowds. Excellent. We had no complaints. Wished we could have stayed longer.
- Donna (10/5): - Fantastic views, beautiful house and overall another fabulous stay
- Andrew (10/5): -
- Kathryn (10/5): Fabulous time at Almira - Location and the absolutely beautiful accommodation. All anyone could possibly wish for. Provision of groceries, etc. Plenty of leaflets. Fabulous view.
- Melanie (10/5): Gorgeous, self contained, private - Gorgeous, modern, spacious. Lovely view. Would prefer fencing be completed so I could let the kids play outside
- Rebecca (10/5): -
- Adam (9/5): Luxury well equipped holiday accommodation with amazing views - Location and views amazing. Very new property with all mod cons. Also very spacious with excellent kitchen facilities in particular. Nothing much. We had a great stay and the host got back to us quickly when we had any questions.
- Rob (9/5): very good indeed would rebook for a future and recommend to others - location and quality a bit too hot couldn’t override heating
- Diane (10/5): We had a terrific very comfortable stay, I can highly recommend this property. - The property was very comfortable and spacious. There were handy extras in the kitchen such as cooking oil and various condiments. A very well equipped kitchen! A washing machine and drier came in very handy.I also loved having a bath in the bathroom. The location suited us perfectly, however we did have a hire car. And the view was lovely. Nothing.
- Stefan (10/5): Tolles Haus an toller Lage - Außergewöhnliches Wohnerlebnis, immer wieder. Heizung ist etwas kompliziert zu bedienen.
- Joanne (10/5): Beautiful location, comfy spacious home. - Fantastic house in a stunning location. Really comfy, had everything we needed, it’s really well equipped - only 2 of us so the house was more than big enough but even with a house full I can imagine there’s lots of room for everyone, it’s really spacious. Views were fab, sunsets were stunning. Great area to explore all areas of Shetland, or just dot and enjoy the view. Absolutely nothing - everything was great.
- yvonne (9/5): Lovely stay - Amazing location, very well laid out and clean. Because kitchen so well kitted out we ate in. Very roomy and plenty games to play Only a couple of things, it would have been nice to have shower gel, shampoo and conditioner. More wine glasses only two in cupboard

- Carla (9/5): Shetland is a magical place. - Great location, beautiful water views, sheep and cows right there. Comfortable house with everything you need to make yourself comfortable. Pillows could be upgraded.
- Ruth (10/5): Exceptional -
- Robin (9/5): Great place to stay to see the sights of Shetland - Perfect location. Convenient for sightseeing, shops, wildlife etc. All very nice
- Irene (10/5): Wonderful stay in an amazing property in Brae. - The location was perfect , just 25 minutes from Lerwick but in Brae with shops and restaurants close by. It’s is also perfectly positioned to enable you to explore all areas of the mainland easily and also with easy access to the inter island ferries. The view is exceptional and the location provides you total privacy , peace and tranquility . The accommodation was extremely comfortable , clean and warm with comfortable beds and the showers were brilliant. We had our little dog with us and there was space for her to run about and play outside. Local amenities were really good with a well stocked Co-op 5 mins away by car and local hotels and restaurants to enjoy a night out . I genuinely can’t fault this property . It is bright and modern inside with everything you need to ensure a perfect stay . It was easy to find and communication with the owner was answered promptly . Would definitely recommend and will genuinely be back There was absolutely nothing not to like about this property . It was exceptional
- Donna (10/5): Exceptional - A beautiful house in a beautiful spot. Clean and homely. Every need was catered for Nothing
- Suzanne (10/5): Loved it and fantastic value - Property was perfect for a group Nothing
- Tim (10/5): Great time - very clean, large, and well furnished property with a great view. Amazing hosts who helped us a lot. If you come with 10 people cutlery might be a little sparse.
- Scott (9/5): Superb - Excellent location with a fantastic view across to Busta. I look my Bialetti Aluminium Expresso maker with me, as I don't drink instant coffee, but couldn't use it on the induction hob. Not a massive problem, but there was no French press cafetière (or I couldn't find one). Recommend that the house is provided with a cafetière for guests who drink ground coffee. However very highly recommended.
- David (10/5): Highly Recommend this property, Shetlands are very quiet so not much going on, expect to home cook - Gilda the host was fantastic, the property is stunning, the kitchen has really good quality utensils. sitting in the house looking out over the North sea with the wind blowing and snow coming down, whilst in the warmth of a lovely home was priceless. Its my wife's perfect environment and she did not want to leave!!
Gilda the host was great, we actually got our car stuck in the snow at the bottom of the hill, we were supposed to leave at 10am but Gilda had already called us to see that we were ok with the snow that had come down, and she said no need to rush out the following day as there were no tenants due, this took off great pressure as we stayed util around 5pm had dinner at the property and then headed for a slow snowy drive to Lerwick to pick up our 7pm crossing on the boat. Property and owner could not be any better, both were outstanding
This property is stunning, the host so helpful, i highly recommend this property, the only one draw back was we took our dog with us, expecting she could run across all the hills, but turns out virtually all the fields and hills were fenced off and owned, so you need go somewhere with a beach or we found a walk by the beach towards Niblon
