Guest Reviews
- Csaba (10/5): Nette Unterkunft. - Sehr nette Gastgeber,.
- Giulia (10/5): - The place is very nice offering an authentic experience immersed in nature off the main track. Definetely worth the small detour from Iprari.
- Andreas Mose (8/5): - Fantastisk mad, gode brusere og toiletter 3stk. Meget serviceminded.
- Elspeth (10/5): We loved staying here and the view was beautiful - The host family were so welcoming and helpful. They were really generous and the food was excellent. Booking.com location wasn’t accurate so it was a like hard to find
- Jonathan (10/5): A fantastic stopover with good food and a friendly host. - A fantastic stopover with good food and a friendly host.
- Matt (9/5): Superb -
- Piotr (9/5): Would recommend - (+) Nice host - responsive and helpful.
(+) Comfy room with a nice view.
(+) Simple but good food These are minor inconveniences;
(-) Kind of out of the way of the usual trekking trail
(-) Bathrooms on a different floor which is quite a walk when it’s cold
(-) May be tricky to find but if you ask around someone will point you in the right direction
- Agathe (9/5): Great stay at Vichnashi - The rooms and terrace are whole new, very clean with a nice view over the mountains. It was great to rest after a long day of hiking. The landlord was super welcoming and generous, and prepared plenty of amazing food. I was a bit cold during the night.
- Felfoldi (10/5): Ideal place in Kala - Quiet, comfortable hotel on the hillside -view on Kala Monastery, July 28 is the date of yearly festival, unique experience- owned by a friendly family. Excellent home-cooked dinner - thanks Baia! Arrangement of transport to Mestia airport is possible.
- Alessio (9/5): Superb - So, to get here you have to make a little detour from iprari , but it is worth it: it's quite cheap and they serve plentiful food, which is very good. Plus They are nice, and we were offered to watch the football match in the kitchen .
The wifi works on off.
- Espen (10/5): Well worth a visit! - Great location, newly renovated house with great bedrooms and well-equipped bathrooms (3). Excellent, traditional food made on a wood-fired oven. It would be great to have a window facing the valley. The room had a small window, but faced a balcony.
- Alexis (10/5): A perfect stay - Brand new guesthouse extension, very comfortable and quiet. Hosts were very sweet and helpful. The mother and the son are very well mannered and very respectful of our privacy. For trekkers, you can ask them to come and pick you up by car at Lalkhori and drop you back the next day (small fee of 20 GEL). The food was awesome. Even if a bit out of the trek, I recommend it to trekkers! Basically, nothing... Could be a bit difficult to find, but if you ask around, people will show you where to go
- Andrew (8/5): Very good -
- Diego (10/5): BEST guesthouse in the treck - Everything. Paia was a really welcoming and attentive host and an excelent cooker: we had by far the best meals in the trekking to Usghuli (including a delicious glass of homemade wine). The house was also really good: It is very beautiful and cozy (with some tradicional svanetian fournitures). The views from the balcony are really nice, it was a real pleasure to chill out a little with a book in our hands while listening the river. Last but not least, the bathroom is in really well conditions , with an amazing and perfect normal shower.
It has to be said, though, that the guesthouse it is not technically in the path of the third day of the trekking. However it is just a little detour form Iprari of not more than 40 minutes which can be very pleasant. Once you reach Iprari you have to follow the dirty road to Lalkhori. Soon yo will see a signal which says: Raul Lushnu Darbaz. If you follow the path (which is well marked with red strips) you will reach Khe village, where you can visit the st. Barbare church with frescoes from the IX century and some old icons -ask Raul-. To reach Vichnashi guesthouse you will need less than 10 minutes from Khe. The whole path is beautiful and Vichnashi is the perfect place to feel real Svaneti and scape crowds, so the detour is not a real problem. Paia don't speak a lot of english (like the most part of the people from Svaneti), but we managed to communicate to each other (including asking for a transfer to Usghuli or buying some wine)
- Mattias (10/5): The best food just a little detour from the Mestia - Ushguli trek - The most delicious food we had during our Mestia - Ushguli hike. Friendly people and good beds. Nothing
- Jiri (9/5): Superb -
