- richard (3/5): -
- Colette (9/5): - A vertical central place to stay. Clean and all you need. Nothing
- Sandra (6/5): - Cute cottage with character.
Good location with views over the harbour.
Very close to shops, pubs & cafes etc.
Good base for walks exploring the coast. House needs freshening up with new furnishings.
Couch was stained & uncomfortable.
Shower needs a good clean.
- Catherine (10/5): Perfect cottage for two! - Perfect little cottage right in the heart of Port Isaac. Cosy, well equipped, we loved it!
- Taylor (10/5): - Beautiful little cottage. More than suited our needs. Ideal location. Bedroom window rattles in the wind. Not a major issue. Just jammed in a piece of card but was a bit annoying having to do it at 1 in the morning.
- Belinda (9/5): We had a wonderfully relaxing time staying. - The Homestead, is a lovely one up one down property. The location in Port Quinn is perfect, down near the harbour and there is parking provided although I cannot imagine what the parking would be like in the summer especially with a large car.
- Peter (9/5): A delightful little cottage with wonderful views over the harbour from upstairs. - The location is brillliant. The kitchen is tiny, with no proper cooker, but what else could be done in such a small cottage? A roll of kitchen towel would have been useful, as well as a proper hook for the tea towel - away from a picture/notice. But these are minor gripes.
- Lula (10/5): Gorgeous little cottage Thank you! - The view
- Karen (8/5): - Clean and cosy
- Abi (7/5): - Excellent location, nice furnishings, comfortable. Fairly cramped. A squeegee would have been useful for the window as there was a lot of condensation due to the cold.
- Hayley (10/5): Beautiful little cottage - Lovely cottage. Cozy and warm. Everything we needed in the kitchenette. Wonderful location. N/A
- John (10/5): - The location was great, using the cottage while down for a business trip. Everything I needed.
Thank you.. N/a
- Katie (9/5): Lovely little property with all you could need for a short weekend away. Would definitely stay here again - Small but perfectly formed . Perfect location. Sea view from bedroom window Shower strength. No plate in the microwave
- Tracy (10/5): We loved our stay at the Homestead and would return again for a future visit to Port Isaac. - Very comfortable and cozy, and in a great location. We enjoyed staying right in the middle of things. Pub and restaurants were very short walks from the property. Views of the harbour and walking paths were very accessible. The kitchenette was perfect for our needs.
- Tracey (9/5): Perfect little cottage in the centre of Port Isaac. - Excellent location in the centre of Port Isaac. Perfect for exploring Doc Martin locations! The property was clean and the bed very comfortable. Lovely view from the bedroom window. Limited facilities in the small kitchen makes the property only suitable for a very short stay. Also, although a cloth and tea towel were provided there was no washing up liquid.
- JANE (7/5): Really good but more information would have been good - It was very central, very clean and well fitted out but very small. There were no instructions for how to use the oven/microwave, and no instructions on how to work the shower both of which were tricky!
- James (9/5): Perfect Cornish cosy cottage - Location was perfect and cottage very cosy. Space was tight but we knew that booking so not a negative in any way to our stay
- Peter (7/5): Excellent location - easy size of kitchen
- Charlotte (10/5): -
- Basil (8/5): Great location - No breakfast supplied. No welcome milk and biscuit Milk and a welcome muffin or biscuit
- Tim (8/5): Good stay, but room for improvement. - Great location, in the heart of the village..
Cottage - high specification. Responsive team who are looking after it. Overall, we had a good stay. 1. Cottage clean except for the bedroom carpet (i.e the first floor), which didn't look like it had been hoovered. When we did so there were what appeared to be lots of dog hairs in it.
2. Bathroom. This is tiny and feels like it is actually in the bedroom; compounded by the folding door, which doesn't fill the gap properly. It is also hard to close from the inside.
3. Building work. We accept that this was necessary given the circumstances, but it would have been courteous to have been told. Instead we first learnt of it when we noticed a man standing on the window sill and saying 'I don't know whether there is anyone in there or not'! Not the fault of the builders (nice blokes) who came 3 times, actually carrying out repairs twice in our 5 days. They showed sensitivity about needing to put a ladder virtually right outside our bedroom window at a time when we were getting up. Why were we not warned by the managing team and why didn't they ask the builders to wait another hour or so on that final morning by which time we would have 'checked out'? Unfortunate way to finish our stay.

- Angela (8/5): Lovely place for a short stay - A very central location. Only a few 100 meters from the harbour. It was a little noisy with passing tourists but was always very quiet after 10pm.
Bed was comfortable. Small but great for us as a couple We didnt use kitchen apart from to make coffee. Windows a little thin for noise but it was very peaceful at night which is the main thing.
Car park is a walk from the property up a steep hill. This was fine but needs to be considered with mobility issues. There is no room to leave the car outside as single track lane.
- Stewart (10/5): Absolutely fantastic stay at Homestead and will definitely return again. Perfect for what we needed - Lovely quaint cottage in the centre of the village with great views and close to everything. Even though it’s a small cottage it has everything you need for a short stay. Very comfortable and cozy. The only thing the cottage doesn’t have is a cooker but I’m never going to complain as I don’t cook when I’m on holiday.
- Steve (5/5): Nice place to visit, but wouldn’t stay at Homestead again. Much better options around for the same money - Good location Very poor cleaning, poor hot water system
- Maureen (10/5): - Beautiful house right in middle of port isac
- Christianne (8/5): A Sweet Cornish Cottage. - Homestead is a sweet cottage, that is perfectly located for the town, local walks and visiting the wider area. It is homely with lots of attention to detail. Everywhere was immaculately clean. It's a great place for a short break, and to enjoy living in a cottage that is part of the town's fishing heritage. Nothing.
- Graham (8/5): Perfect for a short break. - Fantastic location. Well kitted out. The pillows.
- David (9/5): Great location in Port Isaac - very cosy in any weather -
- Martin (9/5): Superb -
- Louise (9/5): Superb - Excellent location
Very small property but had everything you needed
Easy check in and good communication with the host
Clean and cosy and we would return
- Umair (9/5): Superb - Perfect cottage for a couple who were outside and walking more than inside, with a lovely view of the harbour. It was on the small side, but that really didn't matter to us, as it was very comfortable. Amber and her team were very accommodating and courteous, helping us when we needed it.
- Sharon (10/5): Amazing - Homestead was everything I had been looking for. The ideal cottage for a short stay in Port isaac. The location perfect. Very clean, instructions and info were helpful, amenities perfect, just a dreamy place to stay That my stay ended :-)
- Keith (9/5): Homestead Port Isaac - Fabulous location and everything you would want for a short break in a small package! 😃
- Devlin (10/5): Exceptional - Homestead is the perfect location in the heart of Port Isaac, beautiful view from our bedroom window looking over the port 🤩 perfect sunset spot 👌 walking distance to all Port Isaac has to offer, the most amazing walking views 🤩 everyone's so lovely and welcoming. The Mote was one of our favourites right on the front, Lynsey was our favourite 😊 Food at the old school is delicious and the picnic boxes from the chapel were so tasty 😋 Lynne and Trevor from The Cornish Tea Room were the friendliest people, so funny and great food/coffee was a bonus 😊 We traveled around alot round Cornwall whilst here it was a fantastic trip 🌏💜 Stacy & Chris from Scotland.
- Michael (10/5): Exceptional - Cosy little cottage in a lovely location No tea bags on arrival or milk just sugar and coffee . And the very steep hill to park car which we were only told about after paying the money so both should have been said before because if you are old it could be a problem. The 4 o'clock check in should not be now we are not in vovid anymore so we need to get back to a 1 to 2 o'clock check in times.
- Jacqueline (3/5): Very disappointed - We arrived at the accommodation and was met with a horrendous smell from the entrance and inside the property. So we washed the steps down and put bleach in the sink and washed the floor. I also think they need to be honest before anyone books this place as we was only told it was a slight hill not a steep uphill walk to where we had to park the car 10 minutes they said they forgot to mention the the other hill from the life boat place going back to the accommodation. Then we was woken up by the traffic at 6.45 am by cars vans and motorbikes because it is on the main street the motorbikes was very noisy and annoying. Then while trying to have our dinner we had people just stood outside the window looking in at us all day. So just had to close the blind. We went for a walk on Tuesday around the bay ect lovely place some nice friendly people but found most did not pick up there dog mess up off the sand so something to be careful especially if you have children. Now for the reason we left early we had to tolerate very loud music for the property opposite until my husband went to speak with them only to find the someone already there telling him off then only found out it was his mother and have all this on video from his phone. He had been doing this for the last month apparently. If the owners read this or if this ever gets seen just be honest with people tell them how small the kitchen is how tight and small the toilet is and it's definitely not for people with mobility because of the stairs. We feel very angry after paying £335 pounds for one night we contacted the people who run this place just to be told we haven't had any other complaints. Any way I have all the pictures and videos just in case they get back because after contacting them they was more interested is we we was leaving. This isn't over
- Barbara (8/5): We had a three night stay in a very comfortable little cottage. The peace and quiet was wonderful. - Location was perfect, in the centre of the village. Pub and a couple of restaurants within a two minute walk of the cottage, as was the harbour/beach. Five minute walk to private car parking bay, but up a very steep hill, but it’s free so we shouldn’t complain as parking in the village is at a premium.
- Kerry (10/5): Exceptional -
- Neil (10/5): Exceptional - The place was lovely, clean, tidy, and well maintained. As soon as you walked in, it felt homely. It had everything you needed, great views ,great location could not asked for more.will stay there again. Nothing is all good.
- Graham (10/5): A warm, comfortable and homely little cottage. -
- Andrew (9/5): A small quaint cosy old cottage dead centre in Port Isaac, perfect, will definitely stay here again. -
- Charlotte (8/5): A lovely little cottage stay! - The location is great and central. Lots of leaflets showing what to do in the area.
The bed was very comfy and the cottage had most things I needed. It was warm, cosy and I had no problems with the wifi or TV. Amber (& her mum) were great to deal with and communication was good. I opted to use the main car park (paid for myself) as the streets were so narrow for driving up the hill. This wasn't expensive.
Not Amber's fault, but the street is very busy with cars, vans etc, so not always relaxing.
- Patrick (9/5): Very pleasant stay in Port Isaac & a couple of great evenings in the Golden Lion - Great location & very clean
- Geoff (9/5): Superb - Great location, clean, cosy.
- Rachael (10/5): It was a perfect get away! It was like home away from home! - It was very quaint and cute! It was ideal for just the two of us! Everything was great! Kitchen was small but expected in a small style house!
- Michell (9/5): Cute, comfortable and sparkling clean cottage. - The cottage is small but very comfortable, with everything needed, to hand. It is within a short walk of several really good restaurants and the pub. The people in the village are very friendly and helpful. Amber, our host, was always ready to assist. The village has very steep and narrow lanes. The parking to the cottage is at the top of a very steep hill. The walk from the cottage to the car park is not very far but a reasonable level fitness is required. The village will be challenging to navigate in icy conditions.
- Ian (10/5): Exceptional -
- David (8/5): Great traditional village - Great location, yards outside of the main village hub and harbour, lovely traditional fishing village, great food in the Golden Lion pub, but the waitress was not good and through she was American!!! until she got pulled on her not so local accent then she thought she was from Yorkshire, very strange. the village was stunning and everyone was nice and friendly. Firts time in Cornwall so yes a good experience. Silly waitress in the Golden Lion
- Debbie (10/5): Can't wait to come back again - Super clean and comfortable. Has everything required for a relaxing stay
Location is excellent and parking in Port Isaac is difficult so having the parking space is brilliant. This is our 2nd visit and we are looking to book to return again Already missing falling asleep to the sound of the waves Nothing to not like
- Elaine (9/5): Superb - lovely little cottage, well equipped, comfortable, clean and excellent value for money. Amber was approachable and friendly when contacted after a query arose after some horrendous weather.
We loved our stay and can thoroughly recommend this little gem 😀
- Karen (9/5): Lovely autumn stay in this tiny pretty cottage - Perfect location. Sweet tiny cottage Nothing. Although kitchen extremely small.
- Elaine (9/5): Excellent location in Village with all attractions close by. - Perfect for our needs on this trip. Possibly too small if water sports were to be participated in as nowhere to dry or store wet clothes.
- Jeanette (10/5): A privilege to stay in this tiny cottage - Everything Not a thing
- Charlotte (6/5): Pretty little cottage - Good location in the village- close to pub and the harbour.
WiFi worked throughout our stay so we could plan trips as there was no phone signal at all in the village.
Bed comfortable.
Ample storage in bedroom with drawers and wardrobe and space under bed for storing suitcases.
Good instructions to the cottage with clear instructions from the owner on how to get there, and to the car park. We had read the reviews about the kitchen facilities but were quite surprised about how small it was. We are tall (5"10 and 6"2) and the house itself was quite small for us- couldn't fit us both in the kitchen area!
Not really facilities suitable for cooking a full meal - 2 hob rings and micro-oven but we made do!
Bathroom could do with a deep clean- some signs of mould on the top of the ceiling near the fan.
No bathmat provided but we used the towels that were provided to prevent the floor from getting too wet and purchased some other towels from the nearest Asda!
Agree with previous review- mirror in bedroom would be a good addition as the only ones currently are in the bathroom that gets steamed after shower and a mirror mid way up the stairs
Parking is up the steep hill which we knew- not a negative as such but something that people should be mindful of when booking.
Scaffolding across the road obscures view to the harbour which was a shame but a temporary issues I'm sure.
- Christine (9/5): Superb -
- Paula (10/5): We had a very enjoyable stay - Very clean and comfortable and a great location
- Dr (8/5): Very good - Comfortable cottage with some nice touches lending charm. Right on the main street so deep in the Port Isaac experience. Easy access to restaurants, fish and chips, a morning pastie, the little supermarket etc as long as you can manage hills. Easy access to coastal walks which are fabulous. Clean and tidy. Owner responsive and caring. Don't use the uphill route for parking. There's an alternative that is safer and less stressful. Parking is provided and though a steep walk away this was not an issue for me. An issue arose when I was locked in and then out by an aggressive person from another cottage. I have no interest in Cornish carpark wars and hope the owner manages to settle this. Black out curtains would improve the bedroom as there is a bright street lamp right outside it. The blind doesn't provide black out. No washing machine or access to a service so not great for a longer stay. Fixing the parking and sorting a laundry option would make this a clear 10 for both short and long stay. Possibly an 11.
- Lisa (8/5): Excellent perfectly placed property, great communications and thoughtful hosts. - Perfect location It was a little smaller than envisaged, particularly the kitchen which did not have a proper oven
- Kathryn (9/5): Cute and Cosy Cottage - Quaint and Rustic cottage. Decorated to a high standard.
Bedroom has a sea view and the bed was very comfortable.
Location fabulous.
Amber was helpful and took action with a plumbing issue. Drainage issues with shower that was rectified on request
Scaffolding obscured view.
Parking was at the top of a steep hill.
- Anon (7/5): Could have been so much better with a few touches. - Nice location. Tasteful decor and comfy bed. No Internet working so consequently no WiFi, no tv, no welcome pack...no sample toiletries. No extra waste bin bags.
- Neil (9/5): Thoroughly enjoyable stay in the heart of Port Isaac - In the centre of the town, overlooking the harbour. Within walking distance of the beach and amenities. The property was comfortable and cosy Nothing of note
- Gabrielle (10/5): Very cozy home, just right for a couple. The view of port isaac was stunning from the bedroom window - Perfect location for exploring Port isaac. The host was clear, communicative and left instructions upon arrival. Homestead is incredibly cozy, we stayed for 3 nights and it was just the right size for a short trip. Thank you.
- Riccardo (8/5): Very good -
- Jaime (10/5): Exceptional -
- Joanne (5/5): Port Isaac is fab! The property is very convenient. - Location was good The parking space wasn’t usable because if the two spaces were occupied either side and we used our space the other two cars would not have got out of their space.
The shower needs a proper clean, grimy on the inside and the water doesn’t flow away. If take out the plug cover and give it a good clean, that will help.
The kitchen isn’t really useable other than to make a brew and toast as there’s no space. The provision of an oven glove when there’s no oven was amusing.
Might be worth giving the downstairs floor and good wash with bleach because it smelt of dog wee in a few places.
The property is cute and very conveniently located, fine for a couple of nights and if you’re happy to eat out as we are.
- Henn (6/5): Lovely - Location Limited parking, no oven.
- Heather (10/5): Homestead - So comfortable slept really well. An ideal position to access port isaac. Booked again for next year. Nothing, everything was just perfect.
- Samantha (8/5): Very good - Central and convenient for the village Kitchen tiny but enough to make a cup of tea. Could benefit from a bath mat and a mirror in the bedroom
- Deblou (10/5): Cute and cosy - Everything! The cottage is cute and cosy, location is excellent in the beautiful village of Port Isaac.. The cottage is very comfortable and has everything you need for a relaxing stay. The bed is very comfy with quality bed linen, the feather duvet was like sleeping under a cloud. Falling asleep listening to the sea and waking up to sea views was amazing. We've already booked to return! The only thing, if I was being super picky would be larger towels
- Alison (10/5): perfect - Beautiful cottage in an idyllic setting Nothing to dislike
- Simon (10/5): Perfect - Spotless and prime location Nothing
- Tudor (9/5): Perfect little cottage for 2. Great location. Loved the window seat in bedroom to sit and read of watch the world go by. - Beautiful little cottage. Very comfortable and cosy. Port Isaac is beautiful and locals so friendly. Nothing!
- Rachel (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful little place with everything you need in a compact package for a weekend in Port Isacc. Nothing
- Deborah (10/5): Cute and small accomodation . Very high standard x - Everything
- Diana (9/5): Little gem of a cottage - Such a comfortable and quaint cottage in the heart of the village. Wonderful view from the sunny window seat in the upstairs bedroom.
Small but perfect for a couple.
Amber was always on hand to respond to any queries and left a tasty welcome treat! Highly recommended. Parking is up the hill but on a positive note general parking restrictions reduces traffic through the village. Scaffolding and ladder on house opposite slightly obscured the good view but this is a temporary problem.
- Philip (10/5): Exceptional - everything ..have no negative comments at all .. we will be back for sure ..thanku
- Jimmy (10/5): Awesome! - The location was awesome with a sea view, right on top of the harbour and literally a stones throw from the Golden Lion. The perfect size for two, using as a base. The bedroom is airy and the bed so comfortable. Nothing
- Jayne (10/5): Exceptional - Everything.
Nice little comfy place.
Very close to Everything Parking up a big hill on the other side.
- Gina (7/5): We enjoyed our stay at Homestead and would return there in the future if visiting Port Isaac again. I think the problems - Great location in the little town of Port Isaac. It is a very small cottage and typical of most homes in the area. Once we got used to being snug and had unpacked and stowed our luggage under the bed we found that everything we needed to be comfortable was in fact there. The bed was comfortable and the duvet fluffy and warm. The heaters were efficient and warmed the cottage up quickly. From the bedroom window you can see the harbor and with it open a little we could hear the ocean at night - lovely. Unfortunately the wifi wasn’t working for our entire stay, which made it hard to plan trips and find restaurants etc. The owner did come and try to fix it but was unable to. One of chairs to the kitchen table was very rickety and probably unsafe to sit on. The inside of the cottage had obviously been painted recently and the smell of paint was overpowering for our entire stay. I suggest airing it out for a few days or putting an ozonator in or something to absorb the fumes. Some of the instructions in the house manual need updating and better instructions for turning on the immersion heaters and waiting 5-10 minutes for hot water would be helpful.
- Steve (10/5): The comfiest bed and Homestead had everything we needed for a great stay - Right in the heart of village
