• Claire (9/5): Pastel tones create a soothing atmosphere in a tropical 🌴 paradise! - It is a very cozy, stylish and cute smaller place and space which I really like. I have been there for the second time. The atmosphere is more private and very personal. The staff members were very friendly, professional and the food has a proper quality (homemade granola, vegan options and Sri Lankan food on the menu card as well) as I can only write about the breakfast.

Apart from all the food was fab. The stay was worth the pay. Will comeback again for sure ❤️ Not much to stay. But I prefer wearing indoor flip flops at least as I usually want my feet clean.

• Kacee (10/5): - This hotel is beautifully designed and enables a social atmosphere, which I really appreciated as a solo traveler. The restaurant on site is great and pool was helpful during a very hot period. Easy walk to the beach and main road. And after visiting Ahangama proper, I'm really glad I was a few minutes removed in Ahangama west - way more peaceful + easy enough to rent a tuktuk to get anywhere! My room (giraffe) was somewhat disconnected off-property; it was a short walk across the road. I didn't realize this would be the case, although it wasn't a big deal. The 4 rooms over here have no design to them - white walls, quite barren (as compared to the very cute design in the rooms on property itself). Just something to note.

• Accamma (9/5): Amazing stay overall! The pool property is beautiful, and the highlight was the warm hospitality from the captain—he mad - We had an absolutely wonderful stay at this property. The pool area is stunning and truly one of the highlights of the place. From the very beginning, the captain of the property made us feel incredibly welcome. His warm hospitality stood out—he kept checking in to ensure we were comfortable, suggested great places to explore, and even helped arrange cabs for us. The best surprise was the complimentary room upgrade, which made our stay even more special. Everything about the experience was excellent—the pool, food, rooms, and overall service. A special mention to the captain for his outstanding customer management skills and genuine care for guests. Highly recommend this place if you’re looking for a relaxing and well-managed stay! Everything was excellent. No complaints at all.
• Jake (10/5): Gorgeous stay, the breakfast every morning is delicious. The pool area is also very lovely. The staff are simply amazing - The staff were so attentive, warm and lovely! We originally booked the budget room which is extremely basic, so glad we had the opportunity to upgrade!

• anja (8/5): - Animals is a beautiful property with friendly staff and nice rooms that were always really clean. The breakfast you can choose every morning from the card and it was tasty, aswell as the dinner options. Also beach and pooltowels were provided. The furniture and the details are lovely. Also there‘s a beautiful beach nearby in walking distance. Good value for money. I would recommend these place more to digital nomads / remote workers as to people that are travelling or just doing vacation.

The staff, the food, the rooms, the pool area, the drinks, the location - we looked every second of our time here. It’s the perfect place to work remotely as well. There are so many thoughtful touches at Animals, and we will always remember the kindness of the staff.

• Violet (6/5): - The staff were really really lovely and the location was decent. The place looked clean and aesthetic but that’s about all the positives of this place. The owner did refund us (for reasons stated below) after the first night for our next two nights which was amazing and we really appreciated this. Unless you’re a young, beautiful looking person with a Big Mac laptop that you’re going to be working on all day, this may not be the place for you. My boyfriend and I are 22 and wanted to splurge for our last accommodation. This was not a good choice. The pool is tiny, it’s basically a plunge pool. The atmosphere is off, the place is so busy all day with people working, we felt like we had to whisper while in the pool. We stayed in the budget rooms across the road, for the price, these are absolutely not worth it. We stayed in the same kind of rooms around Sri Lanka for $300 AUD less. The air con didn’t work, the door didn’t lock properly, there was no wifi in the room!! There were people filming themselves talking with a microphone all around - I wouldn’t recommend this place unless you’re a digital nomad.

• Sandra (10/5): Ett måste om ni besöker Sri Lanka! - Otroligt hotell med fina rum, vackert poolområde, bra mat, trevlig och duktig personal samt så najs vibe. Hotellet ligger i ett villaområde och det var lugnt på kvällarna, vilket var väldigt skönt. Förutom hotellets resturang fanns det även andra alternativ i närheten. Ägarna var supervänliga och hjälpsamma. Gav bra tips och det märks att dom är måna om personalen och landet.

Mein Zimmer war in einem angrenzenden Haus und nicht sehr modern, das Fenster war kaputt, weshalb viele Insekten den Weg in meinen Raum gefunden haben. Ebenfalls hatte es Mäuse o.ä. Auf dem Dach was es verunmöglichte bei ihrem nächtlichen Rennen einzuschlafen. Das Badezimmer war voller Ameisen.

Sam hotel czysty, stylowy wręcz instagramowy. Śniadanie które są w cenie są wyśmienite i różnorodne. Z czystym sercem będę polecać każdemu chociaż jedną noc ( choć jedna to zdecydowanie za mało) w tym hotelu !

Rigtig godt loungeområde ved poolen med mulighed for skygge og afslapning. Personalet var så søde og hjælpsomme. Vi fik bl.a. hjælp til leje af scooter og de havde lavet en madpakke til os da vi rejste tidligt om morgenen. Ligger tæt på forskellige spisemuligheder fx Trax eller mere lokale steder. Rigtig lækker morgenmad!!

• Svenja (10/5): Super stylische Unterkunft zum Entspannen - Ich war begeistert vom Design! Alles ist durchdacht und folgt einem roten Faden. Man merkt, dass sich jemand Gedanken über das Konzept gemacht hat und nicht nur eine Unterkunft aus dem Boden gestampft hat. Alles war sehr sauber, die Zimmer basic, aber ausreichend ausgestattet. Die Essensauswahl im kleinen Restaurant fand ich auch toll. Insgesamt ist die Atmosphäre dort sehr entspannt und man kann den ganzen Tag am Pool entspannen. Auch mit der Musik wurde achtsam umgegangen (ich bin hier normalerweise sehr empfindlich): Morgens zum Frühstück waren es entspannte, leise Songs, nachmittags eine schöne Begleitung zum Pool-Entspannen und auch abends wurde darauf geachtet, dass die Musik pünktlich leiser gemacht wird, damit man in den Zimmern nicht gestört wird. Zu Fuß ist man in wenigen Minuten am Strand. Zu Peak-Zeiten hat das Essen manchmal sehr lange gedauert und manche Angestellten konnten nicht so gut Englisch. Trotzdem waren alle sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit und konnten immer alle Anliegen bearbeiten.

The rooms were very clean and beds were comfy. The food was surprisingly very good for a boutique hotel. Access to night life was just a walk away. Not necessarily make me dislike the place, but the road leading up to animals was bit broken and didn’t notice a visible sign at the top of the road. But Google Maps works fine.

• Sheril (9/5): - Very European and comfortable. Pool area very chill, we could take towels to the beach, lay by the pool and refill our water bottles. Our room was in the Giraffe house, was mostly quiet.
• Daphne (9/5): Mooie moderne plek - Mooie plek, goed ontbijt, vriendelijk personeel. Geen gebruik gemaakt van het zwembad maar zag er top uit. In 10 min lopen ben je bij het strand. Kamer is basic (standaard kamers aan de overkant) maar voldoet. Ongezellige felle lampen in de kamer, heel steriel witte kamer daardoor. Mag wel wat aangekleed worden
• Judy (10/5): Geweldige sfeer en personeel! - Het gezamenlijk gedeelte is super aangenaam! Boek niet de budget kamer als je dezelfde sfeer en ervaring wilt als het gezamenlijk gedeelte. Dit had ik jammer genoeg gemist en het heeft wel een deel van het verblijf verpest want deze kamer was niet zo fijn. Volgende keer boeken we zeker op tijd om een kamer te hebben in het main complex!
• Carina (8/5): Top Hotel, guter Vibe, super Stimmung! - guter Vibe, sauber, tolles Personal, sehr gutes Essen (Frühstück a la Carte bis Mittag), man fühlt sich sehr willkommen und wohl Aufpassen bei der Buchungen, habe versehentlich das Nebengebäude gebucht, hier sind die Zimmer sehr anders zu den Zimmern auf den Fotos. Es war sauber, geräumig und in Ordnung, jedoch fühlte ich mich zuerst etwas unwohl, da sich die Fenster nicht abschließen ließen und das Haus auf der anderen Straßenseite lag.

We loved the practical yet beautiful rooms and the matching pink bathrobes (so stylish and comfy!) The open-air common area felt like a cozy living room, inviting you to relax, read, enjoy, or even work. The breakfast was delicious, and we loved simply lounging by the pool! You can also rent scooters for a great price, which is a fantastic way to explore the area. The atmosphere is fun, hip, and personal, and the whole team is so kind, warm, and attentive! It was a pleasure meeting the owners Aandala and Arvid, and the manager Roderick. Thank you all for the lovely conversations and tips! We wish you a successful season ahead and hope to be back!

Let wel op met boeken dat je het hoofdgebou - Hele fijne sfeer en leuke uitstraling van het algemene gedeelte, heerlijk eten en super vriendelijk personeel. Wij hadden het bijgebouw geboekt, was voor ons niet geheel duidelijk dat we dit hadden gedaan. Dit heeft niets van de sfeer/uitstraling als het hoofdcomplex. Niet heel schoon, verder wel prima verblijf.

Ja das Hotel lebt von Style, aber praktikabel sollte es für den Preis dennoch sein. 2. Die Fensterfront zum Aussenbad hatte einen durchgehenden Vorgang, die Tür war aber in der Motte der Front. Immer wenn man nachts oder morgens aufs Klo musste, musste man einmal hinter den Vorhang kriechen oder diesen komplett aufziehen (warum ist der nicht einfach in der Mitte halbiert??).

• Alsu (9/5): за свои деньги - топ! - красивый мини отель, невероятно вкусно готовят на кухне. достаточно большой бассейн для такого отеля. есть зоны для чтение книг, и коворкинг для работы за ноутом. стабильный вайфай. мы были в не сезон, мало людей тишина спокойствие износ отеля требует косметического ремонта. очень маленькие номера

• Godfrey (10/5): It’s a factor of Wow , the room was nice and the breakfast was so nice , the staff was so friendly and we definitely wil - The chill vibe in the property was mind blowing and the pool was clean well maintained, the staff is so genuine and open heart ,,, I would like to suggest a welcome drink when a couple arrive that would be a plus point for a satisfaction
• Violetta (9/5): Cicho i spokojnie, naprawdę można odpocząć - Personel naprawdę dba o komfort gości, bardzo spokojnie, hotel kameralny, blisko jednej z najlepszych plaż w Ahangamie - Kabalana beach Hotel położony jakieś 2km od centrum więc jest cicho W ciągu dnia mogli przyjść gości z zewnątrz (raz była mama z dzieckiem) - chociaż hotel pozycjonuje się jako 18+ Brakowało miejsca do rozwieszenia mokrych rzeczy żeby przeschły, w łazience był "wieszak" ale przez wysoką wilgoć nasze stroje kąpielowe cały czas były mokre. Pokój malutki a do centrum - 2km, ale przez to w hotelu cicho i spokojnie W pobliżu nie było sklepów

• Heike (9/5): Traum in Rosé - Eingang durch die grosse Holztüre mit dem Blick auf die stylisch rosa Sitzecke u Poolbereich mit einigen Zimmern, offenem Shop, Büchern u. Frühstücksecke top!!! Leise, entspannte Atmosphäre. Personal sehr aufmerksam, nett u hilfsbereit. Frühstück vielfältig u. frisch. Leckeres Brot. Hübsche rosa Teller u Tassen. Besteck passend in Gold. Versprüht alles romantische Atmosphäre. Helles Rosa dominiert gepaart mit hübscher Deko. Umgebung sicher u nette Nachbarn. Straße zur Stadt grün u Landestypisch. Viel Warmwasser. AC gut. Wir hatten leider ein Zimmer in dem Haus gegenüber, wo es auch 4 Zimmer gab, die nur die Hälfte kosteten. Diese 2 Nächte waren leider unangenehm. Das Zimmer war sehr feucht u spartanisch eingerichtet. Licht nur grelle weiße Deckenbeleutung. Keine Nachttischschränke, noch Stehlämpchen. Keine Abstellflächen im Bad. Bettrostgitter hat bei jedem auch nur draufsitzen geknarrt. Leider sehr feuchte Laken. Meine ganzen Kleider u generell alles klamm wie sonst nirgends in ganz Sri Lanka. Beim eintreten modriger Geruch . Wir hätten eins der Zimmer im Rosa Bereich nehmen sollen, die zwar das doppelte kosten, aber habe ich mir angesehen, u. kann ich nur empfehlen. Sehr hübsch u gemütlich. Tja, Pech gehabt.
• Tom (10/5): Heerlijke plek met lekker eten en nog lievere mensen! - Het verblijf is prachtig, een heerlijke oase om in uit te rusten. Maar vooral de lieve mensen en service maakten het onvergetelijk! Niets was te gek; toen ik ziek werd na het uitchecken zorgden ze voor een plek om uit te rusten en welk ziekenhuis naartoe te gaan. Absolute aanrader.

• Quinty (10/5): Geweldig verblijf - Prachtig verblijf. Heel goed schoon gehouden. Heerlijk zwembad. Top ontbijt, waarbij je zelf kan kiezen uit ruime keuze ‘westerse’ opties. De kamer is klein maar precies wat je nodig hebt. Fijn dat je kleding kunt ophangen en dat er een kluis is. Locatie is net buiten het drukke centrum van Ahangama en op 5 min lopen van Kabalana Beach. Er staat ‘adults only’ maar tijdens ons verblijf waren er 2 kinderen aanwezig. Dat vonden wij wel minder… Gelukkig niet veel last van gehad, maar als je adverteert met adults only, moet dat ook wel zo zijn.

• Fontaine (9/5): Stylishes Hotel in guter Lage - Die Unterkunft ist sehr schön, grade die Pool-Area macht das Hotel besonders. Man merkt, dass viel Liebe in die Ausstattung und Architektur geflossen ist. Die Lage ist ebenfalls gut, man ist recht schnell am Strand und in der Stadt. Das Essen war ganz lecker, aber in meinen Augen auch nicht sooo besonders wie es hier in manchen Kommentaren steht. Höchstens, dass das Einzelzimmer ein bißchen klein ist und dass es keinen Spiegel im Zimmer gibt.
• Eloy (9/5): Mooie locatie met een prachtig hoofdgebouw - Ligging. Vriendelijk personeel en lekker ontbijt. Wij zaten in het bijgebouw wat eigenlijk niet past bij de rest. Verouderd en niet heel hygiënisch. Bij boeken zorgen dat je in het hoofdgebouw zit. Dan is het fantastisch.
• Olivier (9/5): Zeer fijn relaxt verblijf! - Wij hebben super genoten van ons verblijf bij Animals! Heerlijk uitgebreid Westers ontbijt & erg vriendelijk personeel. Het design van het hotel is mooi. We komen zeker een keer terug :). Wel is eigen vervoer (auto of tuktuk) aan te raden om bij het strand te komen.
• Orly (8/5): - Mooi hotel en fijne kamers. Het zwembad is ook een plus. Personeel is erg vriendelijk en behulpzaam. Locatie was voor ons prima. Je hebt wel vervoer nodig naar het centrum. Bij aankomst was onze badkamer niet goed schoon. Dit is naderhand wel netjes opgelost. Ontbijt was goed alleen de porties zijn wat klein.

• Michelle (10/5): Definitely recommend - Our stay was great. We booked the budget room but that was still a nice, big room and it was ten meters from the main building (across the street). The staff was super nice and they helped you with everything you needed. The pool is a big plus, it’s just lovely to spend your day there. We would definitely recommend it! In the room we had, there was some mold in the bathroom.
