- Pavlina (10/5): Very well run place great and helpful staff! - Very clean great location loved tatami bed and morning breakfast was great! Place is just next to onsen. Nothing

- jordan (10/5): Perfect - Great location, super cute very quiet and a great deal Nothing
- Jun (9/5): Nice stay -
- Nathan (10/5): -
- Yiyuan (7/5): Good location, breakfast lacking - Value for money given the location. Breakfast can be improved. Lack of variety, simple with scrambled eggs and a few toasts. Not Japanese.
- Sara (10/5): Loved it and will hopefully be back one day! - We loved our stay here. This was our most unique stay so far. We loved the town, skiing, onsens and the hotel. I was not overly excited about not having an ensuite, but it was actually fine. I already miss Nozawa and will absolutely go back here if I ever find myself back in Japan! One of the bed mats was much less padded than the others (we had a family of 4, so two rooms) and it made for a less comfortable sleep…

- Jelena (10/5): Great place to stay in Nozawa onsen. - Yamane is very close tot the village center and restaurants. There is a shuttle bus to gondola, although we went on foot every morning. It is 1 km uphill walk, so works well as a warm up for skiing. We rented skis right next to the gondola and left gear there overnight which was very convenient.
Breakfast was excellent. Roo.s were typical traditional Japanese style rooms.
Yamane owner and staff are great! Kind and knowledgable. Overall, we had an excellent stay! Strongly recommended. Nothing.
- Frauenfelder (8/5): Great hotel, would recommend! - Loved the staff, super friendly and helpful. close onsen & great location The walls are thin so when other guests used the shared bathroom and were talking it was pretty disturbing & kept us up at times

- Sofia (7/5): Nice stay for a short period in Nozawa - Staff was super kind and helpful. Good position, about a 15-20 min walk from gondola (it’s better to leave ski equipment at some rental near the gondolas) and right next to an Onsen. Bathroom was extremely small. The room had no curtains so no way to block light. Breakfast was ok but with very limited variety.

- FENG CHENG (10/5): -
- Jin (9/5): Very pleasant - Staff can speak fluent English and very helpful with all sorts of questions for someone is not familiar with this area. It’s an old hotel and maybe if possible. The facilities can be renovated in the future. However, in general, I am quite happy with my stay.
- Dexter (10/5): Great affordable lodge. Perfect for skiing. - Perfect lodge for my dad and I skiing in Nozawa. Right next to a beautiful public Onsen and a complimentary shuttle up in the morning made it easy for the old boy. The staff were so friendly and really made the trip for us. We felt so welcome. Nothing

- sau ping (8/5): Room is spacious and clean bath is quite basic simple breakfast foreigner run homestay - Location , room is spacious Breakfast too simple
- Andrew (8/5): -
- Sophia (7/5): Good location and affordable - Being in a walkable location to the ski field and all the cafes and restaurants was great, host was nice and beds were all good Be warned that when it says “shared bathroom” it means a communal shower/ bath space in the basement shared with the entire accomodation. There is no privacy.
- Vanessa (6/5): - The location was good, nice to be tucked away The lift was minute to the point it was a bit alarming. The place was a bit rudimentary. Definitely felt like we were just paying to have a room than having anyone particularly caring too much about us personally
- Wai Yeon (10/5): -
- Joanne (8/5): -
- AMELIA (9/5): - The room was beautiful but there was a large hair on my bed at arrival and the toilet had a hard time flushing. Overall, I would absolutely stay here again and all of the good things out weighed a few bad things.
- Jeff (9/5): -
- Anne (5/5): - Option for private bathroom No hospitality, doesn’t do pick up or drop off from the bus terminal (other similarly priced places in Nozowa offer this without charge) - so there’s a 15min walk uphill to the bus, stuffy shoebox room with only frosted glass so you can’t see out and fluorescent light (prison vibe), breakfast is ultra processed cereal bread drinks
- garth (8/5): Ski hot bath sleep repeat - The whole town and the ski fields are just great. Cute little onsen right next door ski fields a short walk away Nothing really, slightly a blast from the past but that’s ok
- Anouck (10/5): - Great location within walking distance of the main skiing gondola and right next to a local and quiet onsen. The rooms were cosy and comfortable and great value for money. The staff were very helpful in assisting to buy ski lift passes and the breakfast was a great start before a day of skiing.

- David (7/5): Handy enough to walk to the gondola, a nice Japanese style hostel. - It’s an experience, it’s like staying in a hostel. We booked late so all the properties around were gone but it’s very adequate and comfortable enough. Staffs super friendly and helpful.
The place is clean and breakfast is good. I wish there’s a sink in the room but you know this when you book so it’s not a complain.
- Pickering (10/5): Great stay! - Friendly staff, nice rooms and delicious breakfast
- Luke (6/5): Overall decent hotel and good value for money - nice location next to the Kumanote onsen. - Very friendly staff and good coffee and scrambled eggs for breakfast. The decor could do with a refresh and we found a random clump of hair in our room when we arrived.

- Phutsaya (9/5): Will go again - - value for money
- good location to city center
- very helpful staff
- free shuttle to ski lift
- comfortable room
- dry room + gear storage
- okay breakfast - quite small bathroom (can only fit 2 people)
- same breakfast for long period might become boring
- Phutsaya (9/5): -
- laura (8/5): -
- YANG (8/5): According to your budget - Swiss coffee for breakfast, I like the flavor of between bit and sour......oh I don't know how to describe it , best you can stay one night. Room had some dust and closet not clear
- Soman (8/5): - Location is great , just a short walk to great restaurants and not too far from the slopes. The hosts were warm and welcoming and helpful. The second floor toilet (women’s loo) was not working on both days (the bidet/wash functions). Seems to be some problem with the electric as the seat was freezing cold.
- Alon (9/5): Boris the hotel manager was very kind and informative, staff are polite and positive , really a nice experience. Thank y - Simple clean and felt like a nice home. A bit far from the gondola but there is a shuttle so no real problem.
- Meira (10/5): - The staff were very friendly and helpful, the place was calm and relaxing. Good location easy walk to everything in the village. No negatives
- FU YU (10/5): Snowboarding with lots of Onsen - The room was simple but clean and comfortable. The staff were really nice. The breakfast included eggs, bacon, toast, cereal and rice. They also provided free shuttle car from the hotel to the ski resort. No
- Batut Cozac (10/5): -
- Kaya (10/5): - Very helpful and friendly staff. Breakfast was great with coffee, juice, toast, cereal, bacon, eggs and rice. The complimentary shuttle up the mountain was also great!
- Corey (10/5): Excellent place to stay. - Convenient location and easy access to shops and restaurants. There is a daily shuttle up to the slopes. Laundry machines are available. An Onsen 20 feet away. Several other Onsen within a 5 minute walk. Breakfast was pretty basic, but they made bacon and eggs to order as you entered the dining room.
- Brad (10/5): Awesome place, can't beat the price or service - Couldn't fault it. Great value, good location, super friendly staff. Also awesome included brekkie to get you ready for the slopes. Hot spa in the basement for when you're done, great for stiff legs. You wouldn't get this anywhere at a ski resort in Europe, let alone for this price.
Will be back! Nothing
- Hockey (10/5): Perfect for budget or traditional experience or both - I had a great time at Yamane, and when I go back to Nozawaonsen, I plan to stay there again with all of my family. Boris and the staff were very friendly and helpful. If you are looking for either the budget option, or a more traditional experience, or both, it is perfect.
The hotel is a little further from the gondola, so you do a few minutes extra walking. I heard there is a shuttle bus that you can use, but I was happy with the short walk. The shared bathrooms were very clean and fine for me.
It is right next to the most popular onsen which I used each day. I even had conversations with some Japanese locals who were keen to use their English. It was a bit scary to go into the onsen the first time and get naked with strangers, but it was a liberating and healing experience to share the onsen especially when I was asked about my family and my late wife who passed away this year from cancer.
My room was sparse with a traditional style mattress on the floor. Staying in the room for 4 nights made me think about how I would probably be happier at home to have less things in my room.
The hotel is already great value, but it also includes breakfast of toast, cereal and bacon and eggs which I don't believe most of the expensive hotels include.

- Ross (9/5): Great value for money place. -
- Kin (9/5): Good to get a nice place to stay in Nozawa Onsen within walking distance to the ski gondolas - Front desk was very helpful. You are able to buy discounted ski lift tickets and special rates for ski equipment rental. Breakfast was alright. You get kitchen cooked eggs with choice of scrambled or fried eggs. Additionally, there's cereal and toast. I was also glad to get one of the rooms with ensuite bathroom. It wasn't clear how often the room is cleaned and towel replaced. You need to carry your luggage up stairs to reach the front desk. The walk to the Nagasaki ski gondola is slightly long but can work to your favor if you just treat it as a warm up walk. However, I managed to book this property for a decent price.

- Laszlo (9/5): Neat, good value, great hosts, good choice. - We chose this place as it had a reasonable budget, but it didn’t disappoint. Whilst it’s a bit of a walk to the ski fields (we didn’t bother with the local bus) it’s not far to the main strip.
The hosts and staff were very helpful and gave us great tips for the area and how to manage our ski gear, so we didn’t need to take it back and forth.
There is also a public ones only steps away. Perfect after a day in the slopes.

- Gary (9/5): Friendly Budget Stay with Breakfast - The staff was excellent and professional, especially Boris the Bearded One. The breakfast was plentiful, offering eggs and bacon, toast and jam, cereal, juice, and coffee. The hotel has its own onsen in the basement, which is good for bathing and showering. There is also a free washer and dryer in the basement. The hotel could use some soundproofing, as you can hear the floor above and the doors being closed, but this is largely a result of disrespectful guests.

- David (10/5): Brilliant place in a perfect location! - Hard to give this place anything but full marks. The scoring is relative to what the facility offered. Bearing in mind that we had selected a room with traditional beds on the floor, they exceeded my expectation. The bathroom/shower/bath was a shared facility with other guests which was a bit of an experience, but it was exactly as advertised, and amazing at the end of a day in the snow. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful - assisting with directions, food suggestions, ski passes and equipment hire etc. It was a ~7 minute walk to the ski fields/first list, and was priced probably 1/4 what we'd have paid for something half as nice in Australia (where we travelled from). In terms of value for money/convenience, Yamane exceeded expectations in every way possible. I tend to prefer privacy in a shower/bath, but that's on me, not on Yamane. The breakfast was a bit bare bones, but again, it was as advertised, and the fact we had food included at all considering the location and price was a bonus. Overall, it was perfect!
