Guest Reviews
- Clare (10/5): Perfect! Great hosts who were over and above helpful. - The location was beautiful. Hills and amazing views out to sea. Walks you could do from the doorstep and a deck looking out onto the estuary with amazing views out to sea. We saw egrets, fish jumping. It was idyllic.
- Lyn (9/5): Superb -
- Elva (10/5): Exceptional - We had a fantastic time at the Watersedge. The house is so homely and comfortable, with wonderful views. Would highly recommend.
- Hutchings (10/5): Wonderful for all the family we were sorry to leave Watersedge felt like home - Beautiful house and gardens the kitchen was extremely well equipped and a pleasure to cook in .Very comfortable beds .Convenient to drive to great beaches .We walked from the cottage onto the Greenway and had a lovely evening walk to Nevins for amazing food. The dogs and the kids loved the garden and the deck onto the water for crabbing and we even had a swim at high tide
Thank you for sharing your beautiful home Didn’t realise it was just off a busy road but once there we forgot that and it made it easy to drive to Mulranny and Westport .
- Fudala (8/5): Very good - Location Irish weather
- Michael (8/5): Very good -
- Greg (10/5): Exceptional -
- Linda (7/5): A Co for - A lovely home in a spacious and quiet
garden overlooking the river that flows down
to the sea. We very much appreciated being
able to bring our dogs and enjoyed taking
them to the beach in Mulranny (on the lead
due to sheep grazing there). It would be helpful to mention on the
property details that the cottage is used
by the owners frequently so there are some
of their personal items in cupboards.
This didn’t worry us but it may concern others.
- Colin (8/5): Very good - Beautiful location the house needs a refresh and there were far to many personal items of the owners .There was little space to put our own food etc and a place to hang coats would be handy. These comments are meant to be constructive
- Patricia (6/5): Pleasant - Location and house. I wouldn't have booked had I known it was let out with wardrobe, drawers and storage with many of the owners clothing and belongings, i.e. the Kama Sutra and a bell with 'Ring for Sex' written on it (found by a granddaughter). No point in saying it is different until you get there. Owner tried to blame cleaner for not removing them after previous occupants. With the amount of their personal belongings how would she know the difference if there was one? Kitchen cupboards were full of their own supplies so other than the fridge which contained a few items of theirs there was nowhere to store our supplies for the week.
Dirty jackets hanging on 2 kitchen doors and in utility. Laundry was only a washing machine. Had to phone cleaner to get an iron.
Disappointingly no BBQ as listed.
The owner messaged me to say that he had let things slip and offered €200 discount if I booked again and in another message said if I booked directly he would give the equivalent of what booking.com charged. I would probably have had to spend around €2000 to book it, ferry, fuel and overnight accommodation to receive a discount. Ludicrous!
I decided to contact booking.com directly to ask for compensation but they say they are a third party. I supplied photos as proof to no avail. The owner said if the accusations were true why didn't we speak to the cleaner. She couldn't compensate for the upset caused. If they weren't true why did he offer a discount and admit to having let things slip. What could have been a great experience was spoiled. Have stayed at many rental properties before and 1 the following week in Kenmare but have never experienced a situation such as this. Mulranny friends could not believe what they saw when they visited.
Needless to say no monetary compensation offered.
Booking.com suggested I submit a review so here it is!
