• Talitha (7/5): Prima verblijf - Prijs kwaliteit verhouding was goed. Ontbijt was prima, je had keuze uit een aantal gerechten en kreeg elke ochtend een vers sapje erbij. Helaas niet de kamer gekregen waarvoor we betaald hebben zoals die op de foto stond. Hebben hier wel wat van gezegd, maar er werd niks mee gedaan. En moesten 3% extra betalen voor het hotel, omdat we met een pinpas/creditcard wilde betalen.
• Stefan (8/5): Gute Lage und ca. 10 min zu Fuß zum Meer - Es hatte bequeme Betten. Das Bad war gefliest, offen und sehr sauber. Große Terrasse. Das Frühstück war überschaubar, wurde aber auf die Terrasse gebracht. Kein guter Kaffee. Wen es stört, die Zimmer sind recht nah zusammen um den Pool herum.

The location was perfect, castaway is the most quaint, beautiful , small boutique resort we have stayed in, so glad we found it, the decor, the pool, the staff were amazing, we didn’t want to leave. • Jéssica (7/5): Beautiful place, but not really amazing - The hotel is truly beautiful, and in the area seemed the most appealing one. Very close to the beach. Breakfast did not have much choice, but it was alright. The staff was not very helpful, and they leave reception by 7PM so if you need something they won’t be there to help. The pool was being fixed when we got there and only started functioning again when the staff left and the pool was closed, so we couldn’t use it. When we payed (they don’t charge your card on Booking and you must pay there) and charge you an extra charge that it is not included on the price showed on Booking.

• Tracy (10/5): - We stayed in the private villa! It was peaceful & spacious. Great location. 2 big master bedrooms were beautiful with lovely ensuites.. Only a 10 minute drive to Sandy Bay resort & yoga around the corner. 500 metres to the beach. We loved our private pool & the decor of everything. Villa even has Javasicek paintings on the walls. Absolutely exquisite. There was only two of us so it felt like absolute luxury. Will definitely be back next year! Staff were helpful & friendly. Every day we would leave, our villa was cleaned & lights turned on before we came home. Felt totally spoilt! Thank you team castaway! Lack of transport in picking up with luggage at harbour & also dropping off at harbour is the only negative. We arrived in the rain & our luggage was quite heavy wheeling up the road. If they had a buggy to pick up & drop off that would be great!

• Jeroen (7/5): Fijne accommodatie, maar de prijs-kwaliteit valt tegen. - Aardig en behulpzaam personeel. Het is erg gezinsvriendelijk. Het complex is afgesloten en veilig. Ondanks dat de keuken zeer beperkt is, is het ontbijt simpel, maar voldoende en lekker. Wij moesten vroeg op om te duiken en het personeel was zo vriendelijk om de dag van te voren ons ontbijt voor te bereiden. Prijs-kwaliteit is niet in verhouding. Op de foto's ziet het er chiquer, netter en beter uit dan in het echt. De huisjes en het gehele complex kunnen een opknapbeurt gebruiken. Erg veel chloor in het zwembad. Veel schreeuwende en huilende kinderen.

• Yuxin (5/5): 整体房间和环境很好，但晚上无人值班非常致命 - 位置离蘑菇湾比较近，走路几分钟就能到。房间和泳池以及阳台的附属设备（吊床、沙发床等）非常不错，很休闲。房间也比较干净，装修很有东南亚风格。 最大的问题是晚上没人值班。可能是酒店规模比较小，员工晚上下班后就完全联系不上酒店的人，一般可能没什么大问题，但晚上如果碰到解决不了的问题也联系不上员工，这一点需要非常注意。我们定了两间屋子呆了三晚，第一晚有一间房的蚊帐掉下来了，前台是没人值班的，拨打booking上的酒店电话也被挂断。这还不算大问题，第二天反馈过晚上联系不上人的问题后，晚上我家人不小心把一间房的钥匙锁在屋里了，然而电话仍然没人接，我们不得已只能所有人都挤在另一间屋子里凑合了一晚上。我们碰到的还不算大问题，但如果真的有住客晚上遇到生病、受伤或钥匙丢失导致进不去门这种紧急情况，联系不上酒店的人可能会导致非常令人不快的后果。所以对于安全要求高、队伍里有年纪较大、有基础疾病、或者有带小孩子的游客，我不推荐住在这家店。

• Ruslan from Almaty, KZ (8/5): - Очень красивая и продуманная вилла, у нас был номер со своей терассой, классная душевая, кровать очень удобная, комплиментарные наборы шикарны. Общий бассейн хороший, территория ухоженная, есть свой ресторан, но с учетом расположения, это не необходимость, в шаговой доступности все что нужно, также ребята с отеля дают контакт рентала байка, привозят прям к отелю и оттуда и забирают 1. Все дни, пока мы были в данном отеле, проводили покрасочные работы рецепшн в дневное время, находиться в это время на зоне бассейна было некомфортно. 2. К нам забежали в одну ночь два огромных таракана (похожих на мадагаскарских), понимаю, что это особенность тропиков, но в других локациях такого не было.

• Josie Patrick (10/5): - Beautiful rooms and set up. Staff were amazing and friendly, went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable and help. Mushroom beach is a nice little beach, however, the big boats come in and park there, which is very off putting and doesn't help with relaxing.

En konstant summen og støj fra naboens aircondition anlæg som hang lige inden for os, ikke til at holde ude. Af den grund afbrød vi vores 3 dages ophold efter kun 1 nat.

We went on one of the suggested trips from the hotels booklet and it was a great day out. Hotel called taxi when needed for us. Bathroom flooded when using shower, and bits of mud came into bathroom with bad weather. Didn’t refill mini bar during stay.

The music from the restaurant across the road can be quite loud which is no fault of the villa. Perhaps Castaway could supply some complimentary ear plugs which we had at another villa we stayed at on Bali

• Heidi (8/5): Great location and amazing staff! - Location great and staff were amazing! The staff are really attentive and willing to help with every request. The included breakfast was also good and property feels secure and safe for a solo traveler. All rooms are around the main pool so when guests party in the pool to 11pm it is hard to sleep. There is also a live band across the road each night until around 9.30/ 10pm and I like to go to bed early.

We hired a large moped through the hotel and it was a great bike. My only comment is that we had staff organise a taxi down to the yellow bridge port on our last day and there was no discussion on price and for a 5 minute journey we were charged 150k which I think was a bit expensive. However it was heavy rain and the driver helped with our bag and umbrellas from Castaway.

The staff were accommodating even when it was raining for one day and they also went above and beyond to make my husband feel special for his birthday! • ZANE (9/5): Wonderful small boutique style , great area in mushroom bay, workers friendly and so helpful, - We loved this small boutique style, the shared pool area great to cool off after being out sightseeing all day, room was clean had a fridge we filled up with drinks, snacks also kettle in room air con was wonderful and each room had a nice deck area to relax on and have a drink on most evenings before we would leave for dinner in the evening. Breakfast was included and was cooked for us fresh in the morning loved their egg, bacon muffin and fresh juice. great location in mushroom bay, easy to walk to restaurants, small supermarkets and shops. Close coffee shop we got each morning brought back to our deck area to have with our breakfast. An easy stroll to mushroom beach and lots of restaurants along beach. We stayed 4nights here, 2 young at heart 60year old girlfriends. nothing, we enjoyed out stay

• marco (9/5): - Struttura bellissima e curata nei dettagli. La camera è spaziosa e arredata con gusto, il bagno esterno è stupendo e tutta l’area piscina con il giardino è davvero incantevole. Un po’ scomoda l’aria condizionata posizionata proprio sopra il letto. Inoltre, nonostante fosse indicato il cambio degli asciugamani ogni tre giorni, non sono stati sostituiti, e il bagnoschiuma non è stato rifornito una volta terminato, anche dopo la segnalazione. Molto comodo poter fare colazione e ordinare snack o bevande direttamente sul posto, anche se la qualità potrebbe essere migliorata. Nel complesso, Il Castaway è un luogo splendido e rilassante, con solo qualche dettaglio da perfezionare.
• Melissa (7/5): Bad taxi experience - Friendly and helpful team, quick check in process. We perceived the hotel to a different standing, from its booking.com page. We were quite disappointed with the reality The location made it necessary to use bikes or taxis for most trips. One of the staff arranged a taxi for us to go to a restaurant, but the experience turned out unpleasant. The driver told us not to pay for the first ride and to settle the fare after the return trip. However, when it was time to go back to the hotel a few hours later, he didn’t respond to our calls. Later, he started pressuring us to pay for a round trip instead of just the one ride we actually took (even though we were, of course, ready to pay for the single transfer). Seems like a bad scam that is attempted on people too nice to say no.

• Sally (9/5): - We loved the decor, and vibe. Very cool and a beautiful garden setting. The central share pool was clean and cool. I hope that they fix the outdoor shower by the pool. Sprays in all directions. Also no switch next to the bed to turn lights on and off.
• Joost (4/5): Matig - De kleinere appartementen hebben wat achterstallig onderhoud, net als het zwembad, maar zijn in principe goed als uitvalsbasis, dichtbij het strand. De grote villa is te vies voor woorden. Dat kunnen ze echt niet zo verhuren. Die keuken is verschrikkelijk goor. Er lagen overigens ook dode vliegen en een dode hagedis. Ook slaapkamers vies, pui kan niet open etc. Personeel kan je vrijwel nergens mee helpen en lijkt ongeïnteresseerd. Hangt daar ook telkens rond met andere locals en kinderen. Ontbijt is zeer matig. Er zijn echt betere accommodaties.

Breakfast is good, the other food is very standard but their kitchen is tiny and they were super honest and suggested where else we could eat which was appreciated! There were other families staying there at the same time, and it made us feel right at home, as we were looking for a quiet family oriented type off place. Our accommodation was a bit too close to the road. At first it seemed a problem but after 10pm it started to get quiet and it was acceptable.

• Kerry (9/5): Charming litte villa in a great location - What a charming property. Perfect for families and friends travelling together. There are 4 2 bedroom villas around an inviting pool and a three bed villa down behind it with own pool. Hosts were lovely and breakfast was very nice with lots to choose from served on our deck at a time suited to us. Lots of restaurants around the resort and Mushroom Beach only 300m walk. Could do with a little maintenance as timber boards around the pool need nailing down or replaced a few tiles to be replaced in bathrooms. Beds very comfortable and we would happily stay here again. Just a little maintenance around the pool

• Hanna (9/5): - Lovely staff who went above and beyond and always made everything work for you. The location is brilliant, and the villa itself was spacious and well designed. We loved the pool! The bathroom outside was amazing. The only thing lacking to us giving 10 points was the limited choice for breakfast, which was mostly always the same, except for the smoothie bowl. Some tiles broken in the pool, so the girls sometimes cut their feet slightly. Just so you know: two villas have street noise and there is live music next door until about 10. We enjoyed the music though 🤩

• Heidi (8/5): Heerlijke plek, maar onderhoud zwembad kan beter. - Mooi uitziende accommodatie en fijne plek qua locatie. Ontbijt was prima, niet heel veel keuze (omelet, jam of avocado toast) maar dat was wel echt prima. Koffie was oploskoffie. Bedden lagen lekker, kamers werden goed schoongehouden. Heerlijke plek! Wel wat losse tegels in zwembad en dat mag beter onderhouden worden. Ook de houten planken rondom het zwembad met roestige spijkers niet logisch en gevaarlijk voor de voeten. Dus slippers aanhouden!

The hotel is gorgeous and perfect if you were travelling with other people - shared pool which is quite close to everyone else’s rooms but it makes for a nice relaxing environment anyway. It’s walkable to mushroom beach, super easy and close, The ONLY negative is the bar across the road plays louddd live music every night until approx 10-11pm but in all honesty it didn’t really effect us sleeping and we had 2 kids (2 and 5). We 10000% will be coming back to castaway - we had the best time!
• Robin (8/5): Good location, super friendly staff - The villa looked amazing, the location is very convenient next to some good warungs/restaurants and walking distance to mushroom beach. Staff was very friendly as well and assisted us with different things. Although the villa looks amazing, if you look at it better it could really use some renovation. Some things are outdated. However, this isn't a reason not to book this villa!

• Alex (8/5): - Welcoming staff, icy cold airconditioner, close to restaurants and the beach. The property gates are locked from public overnight, gicing more privacy than many other hotels in the area.

• Lily (9/5): Superb - Great pool and vibe of the place. Nice interior! The massage place next door to the hotel which the staff recommended was really nice and the mushroom espresso cafe was really good too and in walking distance. We had a great time but all the restaurants and activities like sauna/ice bath, spa and surfing were far from the hotel. We didn’t mind as we rented a scooter but next time we would probably prefer to stay closer to the boardwalk. The bed wasn’t very comfortable and the free breakfast was a nice gesture but wasn’t that good when there’s so many yummy cafes around instead. There is a bar opposite the hotel which plays loud music every night and the walls are very thin so you can hear the conversations of the people in the other room. We didn’t mind but just so you know :)

Location was brilliant, just a short stroll to mushroom bay/ bars/restaurants etc. The staff were amazing and organised a private scooter and our return ferry home as well as the best happy hour mango daquiri's ( best cocktail on the island) by the pool in the afternoons.An absolute slice of paradise!! Everything was amazing.
