The location is very convenient: you can walk to several points of interest, and the neighborhood is very nice, full of cafes and restaurants. Being on a side alley, the hanok is very quiet, and we slept very well. The property is beautiful and meticulously maintained. The room was spacious and equipped with everything you need, and it also opened directly onto the garden. Guests can relax in the lounge room, where breakfast is also served, which I loved, especially the fresh fruit and mushroom soup! The owner is very kind and welcoming, and was very helpful, storing our luggage temporarily while we waited for check-in and helping us booking taxis. We really enjoyed our stay!

Le petit dejeuner etait decevant. Soupe en boite pain beurre confiture et fruits. De l eau partout apres avoir pris la douche dans la salle de bain et les poubelles videes uniquement sur demande. Comme il est impossible de jeter le papier dans les toilettes c est moyen.

Short Walk to the main road and very close to all the attractions. The radiant heated floors were amazing! Due to it being winter, the insulation board covered half our window, and the view outside was limited. The pictures we saw online weren’t exactly what we encountered in the room because, one window was completely covered from the outside and the other was half covered. I’ve attached the picture where it’s only a sliver.

• Tim Lutz Frank (10/5): - We had a truly wonderful two-night stay at this traditional South Korean guesthouse located right in the heart of the old town of Gyeongju. The entire area is quite touristy, which actually worked in our favor as it made it very easy to find our way around, with countless restaurants and shops just steps away. The staff member who welcomed us was incredibly warm and friendly. Since there is no classic reception, we had to indicate our arrival time in advance, but everything went smoothly. The place itself is very small and charming, with only three rooms in total. Our room was furnished in a fully traditional style, with a mattress on the heated floor — and the floor heating was absolutely fantastic, especially since it was –10°C outside during our stay. The bathroom was also very nice: a typical Korean wet room, extremely clean and offering plenty of space in the shower. Every morning, a light breakfast was served. In our case, it included a traditional mushroom cream soup, bread with a bit of butter and jam, fresh fruit, as well as coffee, tea, orange juice, and optional muesli. It’s a simple, lighter breakfast—no cheese or large buffet—but since we normally don’t eat much in the morning, it was more than enough for us. All in all, this guesthouse offers a cozy, authentic experience, perfect warmth in winter thanks to the floor heating, and a very welcoming atmosphere. We would happily stay here again.

• Dianne (10/5): Great location, cozy and charming hanok - We had such a wonderful stay! It was comfortable, especially when it was so cold outside. The place looks like the pictures. Very quaint and charming. The staff were friendly and it was nice to be greeted by a simple breakfast of fruit and bread in the morning. It felt like a home! Hyuhyudang is also located near a popular walking street, and two very good restaurants - Seasoning, for pasta with a twist, and also Elephant Fridge, for a modern twist on Korean cuisine. It was a great stay, thank you!
• Jaein (10/5): 천년 고도의 정취를 직접 느낄 수 있는 훌륭한 한옥 스테이 - 첨성대와 황리단 길, 동궁과월지, 경주국립중앙박물관, 월정교 등이 모두 도보로 여행하기 딱 좋은 위치에 있고 주변에 주차장도 많아서 매우 편리했습니다. 특히 황리단길에 접하고 있어 각종 음식점과 카페를 이용할 수 있습니다. 아침에는 친절하신 주인장께서 직접 끓여준 버섯크림 스프와 빵, 과일, 커피, 우유 등 풍부한 조식으로 하루를 시작할 수 있어서 너무 좋았습니다. 3박4일의 일정내내 든든하고 맛있는 아침 식사였습니다. 방은 호텔못지 않은 정갈한 관리로 편안함을 주었고 공용으로 쓰는 거실은 옛 한옥의 정취를 느낄 수 있었습니다. 덕분에 편안하고 즐거운 여행이 되었습니다. 아쉬웠던 점은 특별하게 없습니다. 모든게 좋았습니다.

Perfect for exploring the historic area and several other local sites on foot or via taxi. Away from some of the busier areas which was so nice. Very clean and comfortable. The proprietor makes a lovely simple breakfast that was one of our best in Korea. A very nice stay. Highly recommend.

• Akaash (10/5): Traditional home like feel, with clean amenities and well located - It’s located right in the heart of Gyeongju, but also is a very quiet place. You are entirely in a Hanok style bedroom with a shared living room which feels very much like like home. The host ensured we had everything we needed for our stay and helped organise taxis when we needed to go to the train station. The temperature of the room was a bit hard to adjust, but this is probably more our fault than the property.

When you go there you feel like you traveled back in time while keeping all modern comfort. The weather wasn't that good but that's the only negative thing I can think of.

Le calme du lieu malgré une proximité immédiate du quartier touristique. La localisation parfaite pour du tourisme. L'accueil adorable de la propriétaire. Le petit déjeuner attentionné. Le petit déjeuner est un peu tardif pour nous (9h/10h) mais nous comprenons que c'est nécessaire pour garantir la tranquillité de chaque chambre. Si vous venez en bus, il faut prévoir un peu de marche dans tous les cas.
• Verena (10/5): Tolle Gastgeberin, gemütliche Unterkunft - Tolle Unterkunft und fantastische Gastgeberin! Wir waren 2 Nächte in dieser sehr gepflegten, traditionellen Unterkunft. Sehr gut gelegen in der "Altstadt" von Gyeongju, sodass alles schnell erreichbar ist. Gleichzeitig aber in einer Seitengasse, wodurch es sehr ruhig ist. Das Zimmer ist gemütlich, Tee und Wasser wurden bereitgestellt. Vom Frühstück waren wir positiv überrascht (leckeres Brot, Marmelade, Müsli, Suppe, toller Kaffee und vor allem frisches Obst) - das Highlight ist hier sicherlich die Gastgeberin, die sich rührend gekümmert und das Frühstück bereitgestellt hat. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt und würden jederzeit wieder hier buchen!
