Guest Reviews
- helen76 (8/5): - Very centrally located. Perfect for two adults and two children.. A character apartment and the children loved the extra level to sleep on. Bath was good after a lot of felll walking. The whole apartment was very clean. We would stay again. Stairs to take all luggage up wasn't easy with door codes and getting key out on arrival.
- Thistle Down Sheepdogs (8/5): Good - Lovely decor ... Cute and comfortable It was very hot even with fan
- Marilynnicolson (8/5): -
- Niamh (9/5): -
- Pamela (10/5): - Great owner and customer service !
- David (10/5): We were at Kendal Calling and would definitely come back again - Had a great location, everything we needed. Bit cramped up top but no bother and small price to pay. Post code to car park seemed to take us away from where it was but found it eventually
- Lee (6/5): North west couple on tour - The quirkiness of the place and location were great The hairs in the bed, unclean toilet, upstairs bed uncomfortable
- Michele (10/5): Exceptional - Location was great.
Comfy beds
Super clean
Great decor and accessories
Nice extra touches..
Very accommodating with leaving our bags
- Michael (1/5): A load of crap - Only the location The entrance was very steep the stairs to bed were very tricky especially if you were an older person there was no bed as such the sofa bed mattress had lots of stains on it and in general it just felt grubby and also I had booked for a2night stay but came back to find all of our stuff had been cleared out and to be told I had only booked for 1night at a cost of £200 which for said property is never worth it for 1night . So rang around local area to find something else but couldn’t so packed stuff in car and drive the 6hour journey back home overall not a good or pleasant experience.
- Daniel (10/5): Exceptional - Great property, we had a lovely stay! Location was perfect as right in the middle of town. Also a short drive to lots of local points of interest! Would definitely recommend!
- Rebecca (9/5): Superb -
- Barbara (6/5): Pleasant - Good location Road noise, no curtains, no heating, missing basic kitchen equipment. TV didn't work. No stair rail
.
- Sian (10/5): Exceptional - So lovely,
I love that it has character
We had a lovely time
- Emma (2/5): We didn't stay. - It wasn't at all what I expected for £119.
- Ruth (5/5): We managed, no major issues, thank you to the hosts. - The property is opposite the supermarket so very easy access to supplies.
The owner was very helpful when contacted and it was clear that they are people who want everyone to enjoy their stay which was lovely.
The mattress was very comfortable, the sofa bed downstairs was also very comfortable, easy to pull out and a good size.
The apartment was clean and tidy
Price was very good for the area and it is very central making it a good base to explore the area. It was very tiny and cramped for us but did serve its purpose we were there for swim Ullswater.
The spiral stairs is very narrow and difficult to climb made out of iron nice to look at, at the top you can’t stand up where the bed is you have to step into the area, careful to lower your head or you’ll bang your head as you get into bed space. We are active and agile would not suit someone who is not. Bed takes up area completely so can’t put any belongings there, also be nightmare carrying stuff up.
There was a dishwasher couldn’t use as had not had packaging removed!! Most items in kitchen were new and several things not wiped down or still had packaging on.
Sofa not very comfortable to sit on, space not big enough to sit around the table properly.
We had problems with the internet and smart t.v. When we got hold of the owner after a conversation the issue was rectified with a kind and helpful apology, no issues there.
There were 3 of us it was ok for couple of nights,.
- Charlotte (9/5): Superb -
- Leon (9/5): Superb -
- Tim (9/5): Excellent - Immaculately clean , full facilities in kitchen , bath and shower , allocated parking space , restored to a very high standard Nothing to dislike , only to say you need to be flexible for spiral stairs and bed , but very quirky
- Charlotte (10/5): Lovely clean modern apartment but with maintaining some of the character and charm of the older traditional building, gr - Smart, clean, great use of space, perfect location and easy to find.
- Rebecca (8/5): It was a lovely and comfortable place to stay. - Clean and tasteful and comfortable Better equipped kitchen - there wasn’t a corkscrew! Also saucepan lids.
- Clare (5/5): Perfect for one evening and has everything you need. - It was well equip and nicely decorated. The location was odd and it wasn’t clear what else was in the building which intimidated my daughter.
- Malcolm (9/5): Superb - Location and apartment were excellent Couldn't get TV to work and there could have been some some info or guides to the area left for visitors
- Lorne (8/5): An ideal base for touring - The accommodation had character, and was very comfortable and well appointed for three adults. The sofa bed was remarkably comfortable to sleep on, and the kitchen was equipped with everything you would need for self-catering, including a compact dishwasher. All in all, It was an ideal base for touring during the day, and ideally placed to explore Penrith and find somewhere to eat each evening. There is a short walk for parking, though this was a minor issue. Unfortunately the stay was marred by the location being close to an off-licence, so both day and night were interrupted by loud customers and parking vehicles- some of which appear to have faulty exhausts judging by the ridiculously loud engines revving just beneath the windows.
- Lisa (9/5): Perfect stay in Penrith - It was a lovely place. Great location. Great facilities. Friendly owner. All was great N/a
- Kirsten (8/5): Perfect location for a one-night stay - It was clean and quirky. Bedding new and comfortable. Location excellent The bed upstairs was not very comfortable and as we were a non-family share, we had to use the kitchen to dress as you couldn’t get dressed in the bedroom. We felt it very expensive, but probably expected for the area.
