Guest Reviews
- Christine (10/5): -
- Kathryn (10/5): A lovely room with a sea-view! - We had an amazing stay at Casa Nani! The room was perfect, with a great view over the water. It’s close to a few restaurants in San Agustinillo and a lovely beach with some swimming areas. We loved the shared terrace with free flavoured waters each day. Leire was really helpful, providing recommendations and helping us to organise our transfer to the accommodation.
- Isabel (9/5): -
- Twila (10/5): - Nani is exquisite in design and function. The view is amazing and it is off the busy main street. Very quiet and relaxing with cold teas in fridge and filtered water. We were greeted with a very helpful and courteous manager who made every effort to provide assistance and local recommendations that were spot on. The "price" of the quiet and view is the hill to climb and 50 steps to reach it. It was worth every step, just took us a bit by surprise.
- Domingo (1/5): Do not book this place, unless you are a goat. you’ll regret it. - Spacious room with nice nice of the ocean We left after the first night and booked another stay.
They refused a refund.
Steep slippery incline to the property, followed by 65 large steps to the room. Utterly ridiculous.
No parking, had to hike all the way down to find a lot and pay per day.
No ceiling fan and it was hot as hell.
The wall fan was from the 60’s and the noise was unbearable
No fridge in our room.
No bar
No restaurant, so we would’ve had to do this ridiculous hike anytime we left the room.
This is no luxury stay as it claims!
There are so many other places right on the beach?

- Bernard (8/5): Difficile d'accès ! - - Très belle vue plongeante sur la mer
- Endroit calme
- Isabelle (9/5): - Wonderful view and very nice room. Loved the free aguas de jamaica and lemongrass, refreshing and a nice touch, and morning coffee. Limited breakfast options. Not very helpful when faced with medical emergency.
- Genevieve (8/5): -
- Philip (10/5): - Great hosts! Really kind, helpful and welcoming. A big bonus is that they cooked a delicious breakfast for us, so that we could relax in the house all morning and enjoy the view. The room is beautiful and the view is stunning!
- Ana (10/5): - Beautiful scenery, room, very clean, exceptional place NA

- Martin (9/5): A wonderful stay with incredible views, in a magical part of mexico - First, the cleanliness was super. We liked that the property was cleaned once during our stay and I’m sure if we wanted more it would have been provided. Basically less waste and less washing etc. it is an amazing space and the room is fantastic. We had the top floor for yoga and it was a glorious spot. The views were exceptional - and sunrises were breathtaking. I wouldn’t say “didn’t like” but you should know the walk from the road is steep and then you have a number of steps to get up. I wouldn’t suggest this location for people who are unfit or have any major injuries because it will be a struggle. similarly- if you need aircon then this is not for you. We found the fan adequate. And totally worth it :)
- Chiara (9/5): - Stunning view and atmosphere.
The room was very clean even though it’s a cabanne.
The girl that checked us in has been really helpful and provided us lot of suggestions. I would put a sign with the name hotel at the beginning of the street because it’s was not super easy to find.
- philippe (10/5): - The view and the services are remarkable
- Stephanie (9/5): Superb - Amazing view and great breakfast. We were provided with a handy reusable chilll bottle that kept the water cool (drinking water is provided too!) Loved the hammock and the shower is really nice as well. Very comfortable bed. The room also has a safe. As many other reviews mentioned already, the walk up is quite steep, but it's the compromise for the amazing view.
- J (8/5): Nice. The cabin and garden are beautifull. - The place it self is beautifull, the view and the vibe were a true treat.
The climb up, is pretty heavy, so you have to schedule your day, as practial possible, with less possible climbs.
Even though we were early, our welcome was very sweet, en guest free. We stayed for 3 days, but had no cleaning in between. Because it was so warm we would have appriciated clean sheets and towels
- Theresa (10/5): Magical haven in the most beautiful town - Absolutely stunning, magical stay! Leire and Una were such a joy to meet and were attentive and loving hosts. I actually was able to connect a bit with Leire before arriving and she ensured everything was taken care of including booking my taxi pick up from the airport. The property is tended to with so much love and the bed-most comfortable I’ve slept in ever? What a treat to be serenaded by the waves. Nani is the best decision I have made so far this year if it’s available-this is your sign to stay!! Nothing it was perfect
- Rebecca (10/5): Wonderful stay - Love it ! So beautiful and peaceful. It’s up a hill which is good exercise! Ask for directions if these are not sent to you as it is hard to find.
- Oliver (7/5): Service might be better - Great location, fantastic view, amazing architecture, beautiful bathroom No internet in our bungalow for the whole stay (even after complaining nobody took care)
Low service-level (no help with bus tickets, laundry e.g.)
Annoying loud mediation music from a neighbor resort in the afternoon
- Pamela (10/5): Oasis in San Agustinillo - Everything! I can’t wait to go back. 🥲
The walk up to Nani is a bit steep but it is only for 2-3 minutes. You do reach the property a bit sweaty, but it was not a problem for us. The views and the serenity is worth it.
Leire and Una were fantastic in welcoming us! Very helpful.
- Konstantin (8/5): Very good -
- Mona (10/5): Gorgeous interior, spectacular view and peaceful surroundings. - Casa Nani was an absolutely gorgeous place to stay. All of the thought-out details in the room, the beautiful shower, super friendly staff, the peace and quiet, and of course the main attraction; the stunning view!
If we ever come back to this part of the world again there is no doubt that we would stay here again.
- Kane (10/5): Exceptional -
- Oian (7/5): It was good but we won’t go back. - The views The steep access, and temezcals are held daily right next to the room making it hard to relax in the afternoon.
- Victor (9/5): Superb -
- Demi (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ronny (9/5): Uphill with astonishing views integrated in the nature - Views, location, style, bamboo and wood, flowers and trees and plants, whistling birds and quacking geese … the steps up … I knew before … but still… but it is worth it !
Lack of warm water.
- Abel (10/5): Awesome stay in San Agus. - The rooms, the location (though on a short hill), the view (omg, the view!), and the host were all amazing. Spent new years here. Would get back in a heartbeat. Everything was excellent.
- Jonathan (8/5): Very good - Beautiful rooms and views No parking on site. There is paid parking 5 min away. Breakfast is not included even though it is called a “bed & breakfast”.
- Kaitlyn (10/5): Perfect private getaway. - Nani was a private, romantic, and comfortable place to stay with great views down to the water. It is tucked out of the way and a climb up the hill to the rooms, but it feels like a secret getaway.
- Marshall (10/5): Beautiful, relaxing, great food, and view! - The rooms are beautiful and spacious, to include the bathrooms/shower which is awesome for a cool shower in the hot weather. And the view! The view is absolutely incredible over San Augustinillo beach and the Pacific Ocean. Leire is a super friendly and accommodating host and their maid keeps the property spotless. Breakfast is also tasty if you’re not ready to head down in to town yet. It’s a 5 minute walk down to some truly incredible restaurants in Augustinillo. All of Leire’s recommendations are wonderful. Just be aware the walk up is steep and often hot. However, we didn’t see this as a negative because the view is unlike anything you’d get from accommodation off the main street in town. You also hear almost no road noise, just the waves below. Also note that there is not AC but the cool water in the shower is super refreshing and most nights the rooms get a decent breeze.
- Bonham (10/5): Exceptional - We loved the stylish and thoughtful decor, the very comfortable bed and, of course, the beautiful view of the sea. Leida looked after us beautifully, making us an amazing fruit, yoghurt and granola for breakfast and helped us with restaurants and general info. A wonderful place to relax.
- Mazzola (10/5): Beautiful hilltop oasis - Nani is a beautiful little oasis on the hilltop of San Agustinillo. The view of the town and coastline from our terrace was stunning - we felt so relaxed during our stay. Our hut was beautiful and very well maintained. The breakfast was basic but there are many options in San Agustinillo and Mazunte when we wanted something different. The walk up to Nani is short but very steep - be prepared for this. There is no parking at Nani but we felt very safe parking our rental car on the street in the town (for free). San Agustinillo is definitely smaller and quieter than Mazunte, but you can easily walk to Mazunte for more shops and restaurants. Overall wonderful stay and highly recommend!
- Andreas (10/5): Exceptional - Amazing sea view and great patio!
- Wendy (7/5): Other than the strenuous climb to the hotel, we enjoyed our stay. - We didn’t have breakfast at Nani as that is only available from 9am.
We loved the peacefulness and privacy, beauty and design of the hotel. The climb to the hotel is rather extreme and the ‘warning’ about that is NOT very visible or noticeable on the booking site(s). It means that every trip to the beach or town entails quite a strenuous climb back up to the hotel afterwards.
- Pierre (10/5): Wonderful place -
- Michelle (7/5): Great views, if you can handle the hike to get there - Loved the property itself. Great views. Very steep to get there and it takes away a little bit from being able to just ‘pop to the beach’ because it’s quite a trek, especially in the heat. But if you’re in really good shape you might not mind the extra challenge
- Madeline (10/5): Lovely design aesthetic and views in a secluded property - Beautifully designed boutique property with gorgeous views of the ocean. Feels secluded but not a long walk to the beach and restaurants/bars/cafes/shops if there's anything that you need. You can even see whales from the property during the season. The porch is very nicely outfitted and you'll want to take advantage of lounge/hammock time. I worked remotely for one of my days here and had no problems with the internet connectivity. Beds were comfy. Una was also communicative and super easy to work with, she helped arrange transportation to the property and provides info and resources about the area. - There is a short hill to climb to get to this property. It can be a little rough in the afternoon heat but it's a tradeoff, sometimes you have to climb to get good views. I find it a worthwhile trade but wanted to call it out to anyone who may have any injuries or disability that might make it difficult to access this property. (Also, pack light and bring bags that are easy to carry up and down)
- While it's architecturally quite beautiful, the bathroom setup is not super private and does not have a traditional door (has a bamboo curtain). Just something to note if it's an area of sensitivity.
- Miranda (10/5): Amazing! - Arriving at Nani felt like paradise! Amazing setting, beautiful rooms, super helpful host Steep walk to property - would not recommend for less able travellers
- Anna (9/5): Beautiful property with incredible views but no AC, wifi could be improved - Beautiful interior, views were amazing, comfortable bed, friendly host, very clean and good location No AC, wifi didnt work well in my room but was fine in the common area (but made it difficult to work), no bedside tables, breakfast options were limited and relatively expensive and very steep walk up to the property
- Morag (9/5): I wish we could have stayed longer! - Such a beautiful view from a delightful deck! Delicious breakfast, comfy bed, the rooms were stunning! San Agustinillo is a lovely, rustic beach town. Everything we needed for a quiet and comfortable stay. Unfortunately, the walk down to the beach was very steep, but it is not a problem if you are fit and healthy.
