Guest Reviews
- Alison (8/5): - Such a great area to stay right in town. We could explore all of Taormina from here and even walked to the beach one day. Perfect for our family to be comfortable with space and a kitchen. The host was very helpful and responsive The bins are collected from out front each morning. The glass bottle collection is super loud and woke us both mornings. Not a deal breaker as it was worth being right in the town but worth noting if you’re not good at getting back to sleep.
- Trisha (10/5): Gorgeous Apartment - Blondie is a lovely apartment located right in the centre of Tarominas old town. The location is everything with shops, restaurants & bars located just outside its door. The atmosphere in this area is very relaxed, so even though everything is there, it's such a chilled out vibe 😍. There was some noise from glass collection in the morning but was for a short time only.
- Claudio (10/5): - in the center of Taormina, this is an amazing place to stay!!!
- Adam (10/5): Exceptional - The location was absolutely amazing with plenty of room for our family of 5. Extremely clean with great communication. It was the perfect accommodation to enjoy beautiful taormina
- Bence (10/5): Live like a local in the heart of Taormina, surrounded by old beautiful architecture and great food - Making contact with our host was easy, they were friendly and helpful all the way. We got our 2 sets of keys from the key box with a code.
The apartment is spotless clean, we have never experienced such cleanliness, so this is a major plus! Towels, linens, sheets, all fresh and clean.
The living room and one bedroom have AC, they are very efficient, the apartment can be cooled down swiftly.
The kitchen has induction stovetop, matching pots and pans, there are lots of utensils, forks, knives, spoons, glasses, coffee cups, etc. I would suggest cooking only small pasta dishes, since there are lots of great restaurants in the very close neighborhood. The fridge has a large ice box.
The bathroom is large and it has nice tiles, very clean, good amount of hot water.
You have the best lively view from the small balcony, people will be jealous of you sitting up there :) You have to pay attention not to overload the electric circuit. This is an old house, the hosts are upgrading it constantly. The apartment will have a circuit breaker upgrade soon, but at the moment, cooking and having AC together can shut off the power in the apartment. This is not a real issue, you can easily turn it back on if that might happen.
Also you need to be ready to collect the waste separately and put it out to the street only at designated days. This is how the locals do it and you are doing the 100% Taormina experience and this is part of it. I really enjoyed it being like a local Tarominian for a week :)
So these 2 negatives are basically just FYI, not real issues, they can be managed super easy. Enjoy your stay! We will return for sure.
- Jimmy (9/5): Quaint, spacious and perfectly situated. - Perfect location, lots of space, beautiful floor tiles, comfy beds, and a quaint view from the balcony. No wine glasses (in Italy!). There’s a complicated diary for bin collections every morning that guests are in charge of, and are threatened with a €450 fine if they forget to put it out.
- Vaclav (2/5): Centric location, non equipped kitchen, didn't really like the host with 0 % effort to sort things. - The location was just perfect for a couple of nights stay in the city of Taormina. Centric, beutiful. Our stay was far from nice. We arrived with the newborn into the flat that had 16 degrees celsius in it (even though the host knew we are arriving with the baby and the weather outside was around 12 degrees) and electricity that was failing always when we run AC heating plus anything else. Had induction cooker but only 2 pots were actually ment for induction, rest non working. No stove (yet yes, was on the pic and is described there), no sharp knife, no scraper etc. How to cook there - hard to say, harder to do. When we highlighted this fact especially taking into consideration we had 3 kids and newborn we had to cook for and asked if we can leave earlier, he refused to give us any discount and said if we leave, we had to pay in full.
NEVER AGAIN.
As a bonus, the host is filing a complaint on us for a trash, oh my god!!! The plastic trash we were able to give out only once per week, same as mixed, so we left the trash sorted perfectly as wanted.
Next time I will file the complaint right away.
- Daryl (4/5): Terrible! Owner offered €15 refund from €400 payment. €115 of ruined groceries, our advice Avoid - My hobby is cooking and I decided to book this apartment for the first three days of our Sicilian tour as this apartment was central in the town, this was a return trip for us to Toarmina. When I saw the apartment on Booking.com, I was instantly taken by the buildings facade, balcony, the beautiful floor tiles, large dining area and kitchen. On arrival I went shopping for fresh food supplies for the three days, the supermarket was quite some distance from the apartment. On our return to the apartment (as it was getting late) we decided to eat out. On unpacking we discovered that there was no cloths iron or ironing board in the apartment, I called the owner who responed quicklyin 10 -15 minutes came to the apartment with a old blackened surfaced iron but no ironing board and told me that I should use the dining table and a cloth to protect our clothes. Although grateful that we could now iron our creased clothes for our stay in Taormina, I was upset that as he he had not purchased a new iron and board for his paying guests or lent us his personal iron and ironing board from his home which obviously was close by.
Day2) I prepared fresh food for a romantic evening meal but on turning on the oven, all of the power for the apartment went off. The fuse box was located in the kitchen so I was able to turn back on the trip switch once the oven was off. Unfortunately every time I attempted to set the oven all the power tripped out again. Eventually I called the owner who informed me that I must have too many appliances running and this is why the oven had tripped the electricity and was told to turn off the air con. Having unplugged everything (including all the apartment lamps that were plugged in but no on) and turning off the air con (it was very hot during our visit) I tried again but all the power went off once I turned on the oven. We both checked that there was nothing plugged in or running in the apartment apart from the fridge and in frustration I placed all the food that I was about to cook in the fridge and we decided to find a restaurant. Day3) I tried to cook on the gas hob but on opening the fridge the power tripped out and I could not reset it, my wife was taking a shower and suddenly plunged into darkness. most of our food was ruined and ended up in the trash as it could not be cooked. Also No TV
- Gary (10/5): Beautiful Apartment - We had a lovely stay in this beautiful, spacious apartment which is perfectly positioned to explore the town. The apartment is very nicely presented and impeccably clean, with all we needed and the host was very helpful.
