Guest Reviews
- John (10/5): For the area and price, my stay at Dragonflies was way above my expectations! - Everything for the stay was perfect: location, cleanliness, accessibility, facilities. I particularly liked the independence of the room. The interaction with the owner regarding key exchange etc was flawless. Very friendly Could not improve

- Alex (10/5): A great place! - It was very clean and had everything I needed for a work stopover.
- Simon (9/5): - Locality to the new forest.
- John (8/5): -
- Carol (9/5): A slice of heaven - The property was perfect in every way. As a single traveller there is a space to park your car outside your room, which was really lovely plus the bonus of no steps.
The room was open and bright with all the needs for tea making ( I’m a big tea drinker). Extra seating leather couch with comfy cushions. Really snuggly double bed, nice size en-suite.
Breakfast was catered for, fortunately I emailed before hand as the next morning I would be leaving very early and after reading( other places to stay I would miss out on anything to eat).
This was not the case staying here.
Cereals and sealed pastries some with chocolate in meant I left with breakfast. For me a Big thumbs up.
Will be back as the location is near so many places and I have more to visit. Nothing
- Steven (10/5): Exceptional ! Couldn’t be better. - It was exceptional. Probably the best I have stayed in. Self contained, key entry, parking outside, spotlessly clean and a light breakfast provided along with tea and coffee. I used it as a stopover for catching the ferry in the morning but it would serve equally well as a base to explore the area. Value for money was excellent: half the price of hotels in the area. Nothing.
- Michael (10/5): - A very nice and cosy room with its own entrance. Very clean and comfortable. The house is located in a quet side street and has its own carpark. Highly recommended,
- Lindsay (10/5): Absolutely stunning - Beautiful, clean, comfy with all the little things u might need.
Would definitely stay again
- Scott (10/5): - Clean, comfortable and spacious accommodation in a nice quiet area with superb hosts.
The whole process from booking the room to check in and then checking out couldn't have been easier.
I would thoroughly recommend Dragonflies as an ideal place to stay.

- G (10/5): Nice place - Clean quiet and beautiful
- ian (10/5): Perfect for a weekend in the forest. - Clean pleasant room perfect to a short stay in the new forest. Nothing to dislike

- Sam (9/5): Happily stay here again when visiting the south coast. - Quiet, clean, well furnished and decorated. Price is as expected. nothing
- Mark (5/5): - Had problems getting the shower temperature to work correctly, and could not get the analog to to work.
- Christopher (9/5): - Lovely self-contained accommodation perfect for a stop close to the New Forest and nice countryside/coast. Easy parking. Self-service breakfast provided with milk and orange juice in small fridge. Comfortable large bed and nice sofa. Clean and well set up. Great shower room. Slight issue that I couldn't control the shower temperature. Sorted by the second day.
- David (8/5): A small jewel at an excellent price. - The room, with ensuite, was clean, well designed, comfortable and perfect for my one night stay. Comms were good before and during with the host. Easy access via key safe. The bed was firm but comfortable, the shower was good. It was nice having the small settee to use (lots of places only have a bed and possibly upright chair). There was a good range of buffet breakfast ingredients left in the room and it was nice to have 'real' milk and orange juice left in the tiny fridge. Parking was easy and the area was very quiet. The tiny fridge was very useful, but in the quiet of the night, although it made very little noise, it did disturb my sleep a bit.
- Therese (8/5): Very good - the location and the helpful owners a bit petty on my part but no cloth to clean the sink or work surfaces or dry the dishes
- Michael (9/5): Superb -
- Sue (9/5): lovely accommodation - the location was very good for the wedding reception i attended, the room was great and had all available amenities N/A
- Alan (9/5): Excellent room in a lovely central spot - Lively comfortable room with excellent breakfast provided - croissants, pain au chocolate, cereals and orange juice.
- Michelle (10/5): Thoroughly recommended - This is a really nice place to stay. Helpful arrival instructions - all very easy to find, park and access the room. Comfortable, private studio-type apartment on ground floor with nice decor but not over the top. Generous and varied breakfast provisions and all the necessary tableware. Very comfy bed and lovely hot shower. I almost want to keep this place a secret so it will be available next time I want to stay!!
- Kate (10/5): Exceptional - Very clean and comfortable. Nice showeroom, good breakfast provided. Easy to find and easy parking.
- Sam (9/5): If you need a place that is close to the new forest, IOW, Bournemouth then look here. - Comfortable, clean, well kept, easy instructions on how to access property (just look for the little dragonflies sign at the property which points to the door on the left. Nothing, the price is about right for the accommodation.
- Andrew (9/5): Superb - Ideal and really quiet location
- Jack (10/5): Very good, I will be back. THANKYOU -
- Louise (10/5): Fabulous Stay - Great location, very clean and comfortable and good selection of breakfast items provided, including milk and orange juice in the mini fridge. Great value!
- Konstantia (3/5): Disappointing, unsatisfactory stay - Cold room and very noisy. Unfortunately, the breakfast provided was very poor. All in all very disappointing
- Mark (9/5): Superb - Great communication, fabulously clean.
- Kat (10/5): Really pleased we extended our stay. - We managed to extend our stay by an extra night and were really pleased that we did! Please see our other review for full details of our enjoyable stay. 😀 See above.
- John (9/5): Superb - Cosy room , nice touch with all the extras
- Kat (10/5): Perfect location for a quiet, relaxing stay - Location was perfect, lovely and quiet and easy to find. Key box entry was straightforward. Room and en-suite was stylish and cosy. Host’s communication was excellent and tasty gluten-free breakfast items were kindly supplied. No light came on at the door (we arrived after dark) which might have been helpful for entering the code on the key box, but luckily there were two of us and one could hold the torch!
- Edmond (8/5): Great location for me. Near my daughter and on a bus route. Felt very comfortable and relaxed in the accommodation - Very clean. Warm. Good selection for breakfast. Nothing really!
- Stuart (10/5): Perfect place to put my head, while visiting friends in the area. - Comfortable. Separate entrance. Everything you need. I’ll be back! Thanks. Nothing.
- Paul (10/5): Fine and I would stay there time and time again if I could get TV and a not to hot shower temp ? - Observations not complaints
Took me 30 mins going up and down lane, would help if you told people it’s a bungalow called Skyview ? It was getting dark so not easy to spot and then a small sign saying dragonflies not easy to spot , secondly I could nt get terrestrial TV whatever I tried , thirdly could nt control hot temp on shower ?
- Paul (9/5): Superb -
- Passey (10/5): fabulous stay, lovely place - very clean, tidy, dragon fly's around the room gave it a nice touch. very comfy bed and breakfast was a lovely touch too. was a little chilly in the evening but other than that all perfect.
- Andrea (10/5): Cosy place to stay - Cosy place, I only spent one night but could happily have spent more.
Comfy bed & loved the shower, plenty of hot water.
Really nice to have a good conditioner !
Lots of tea & coffee with fresh milk & OJ 😊
Easy to find & keycode box for the key
- Chris (9/5): Perfect for what I was looking for. - Modern, Clean and comfortable. Lovely orange juice and selection of pastries for breakfast.
- Andrew (9/5): Superb -
- Annabel (10/5): Exceptional -
- Carol (9/5): Superb - Good sized room, comfortable bed, room equipped with everything for a very comfortable stay. Quiet place, easy to access.
- Rebecca (10/5): Exceptional -
- Shirley (10/5): Very comfortable would recommend - Lovely clean room very nice bathroom, and coffee or tea with fridge for milk and tv with lots of channels Nothing
- Sandra (2/5): Very poor and could have been so much better with a little thought from the owners. - The bed was comfortable and the shower room was new. Mi;k was supplied in a mini fridge which was a nice touch - see below. The toilet had not been flushed and was disgusting. I stayed on 7th August, the milk "use by "date was 8th and by the evening of 7th was off. Tried to get someone to answer the door the next morning but no reply so no breakfast as needed milk to make tea and have the muesli that was supplied. The bed had a 13.5 tog winter duvet - in a hot August. Have the owners no common sense? I slept with the bath towel as a cover. Guests were asked to park to the left so that cars could pass, but the owner had parked in the middle of the space so I had to reverse out onto the road.
- Andrew (8/5): Very good -
- Geoff (9/5): An exceptional spotless place in the quiet countryside. Perfect for a couple or solo traveller. - Fresh orange juice along with milk, granola, muesli and croissants.
- John (10/5): Home from home, if not better - Excellent facilities All good
- Jordan (10/5): The best price with the best quality! - The stay was just what I needed, To be truthful I only needed a bed for the night and wanted to keep it as cheap as possible compared to everything else and I can honestly add that it certainly did not feel the cheapest. Cosy, comfortable and premium.
- Jane (9/5): Superb - It was comfortable and well equipped. The full length mirror needed a clean, but otherwise than that everything was very good.
- Csaba (7/5): Good for who need only a bed - Confortable bed, good and quick communication with the hosts, The room is part of the host's home which is a bit weird for me, there was no heating, it was very cold in the room (about 16-18˙C which is quite cold, at least for me), breakfast was included (2 croissants already in the room at arrival, a small jam, some milk and orange juice from concentrate)
- Geraint (10/5): Exceptional - Just a lovely place Everything
- Terrie (9/5): Extremely pleasant - The room was absolutely spotless, beautiful and luminous, and in an annex separate to the house with its own entrance. As I am gluten intolerant, there was really nothing I could eat of what was provided.
- Stuart (10/5): Simply the best. - The cleanest place I have ever stayed in. Full of personal touches unlike hotel chain boxes.
- Katie (9/5): Superb - Access was easy and location good. The bed was comfy and good room facilities, TV and hairdryer.
- Sarah (9/5): Superb -
- Asha (10/5): Exceptional - We had a great stay at Dragonflies. Check in was super easy, the facilities were fantastic (I was in town performing for a show and was SO relieved to find a hair dryer!). Really loved the small touches, books, blankets, access to iPlayer, tea and coffee was fantastic too! The breakfast was cute, and they were kind enough to provide milk too! It's clear to see the team have really thought about their accommodation.
The location was delightful, and so convenient for a lovely stay near the New Forest or beach :) There was a miscommunication with check out timings, and the post stay communications regarding this felt very accusatory. Oh and it's best to ask for Wifi details before arriving.
- Su (8/5): Lovely room, beautifully decorated and comfortable and with everything you need. Be aware that the room has an external - Very clean, liked the style and decor. Had everything I needed for an overnight stay and was very comfortable. Breakfast was good too. The room is an annexe with an external door at street level. That would normally have bothered me, but I was woken about 5am by noises by the door - I thought it might be an animal outside scratching on the door or maybe mice or birds or something. I didn’t want to go out in the dark and investigate, but I did find it a bit unsettling and didn’t get too much sleep after that!
