Guest Reviews
- Germán (10/5): Muy satisfactoria -
- dominique (9/5): nice hotel with a view on a beautiful tropical garden - nice hotel with curated garden
host is remarquable and will give you excellent advices for activities and restaurants nearby
400 m from a beach restaurant where you could spend the day when not visiting I visited out of season and it was a bit quiet

- ALEX (6/5): - Desayuno excelente

- Lisa (9/5): - Very friendly staff. The houses were very cozy, in the middle of the jungle. Breakfast was delicious. A bit out of the center (40 minutes walk), but this did not bother us. The owner comes to greet you on the first day and gives you tips for things to visit. She is also available via whatsapp!
- Manuela (9/5): Lovely accommodation with convenient shared outdoor kitchen and friendly staff! Ocean out front was added bonus. - Lovely surroundings and the added bonus of the family of Howler monkeys!

Recomendado 100%! Todo estuvo excelente.
- Eulalia (10/5): Esmorzar excel·lent, amfitriona immillorable i entorn molt tranquil.
- Jim (10/5): - Very comfortable I love hearing the ocean at night 💕 All was well done 👍
- Marcia (10/5): Hermoso y excelente lugar!!!
We voelde ons welkom.
- pamela (10/5): - very helpful friendly stuff, well organized and beautiful view. good breakfast. you will have visitors like monkeys and colibri. ask for puncho the kokodile ☺️ mosquitos loved my blood 🥶
- Jandres06 (10/5): Increible para descansar - La cama es de otro mundo.
- Stephen (8/5): - The staff was good. Enjoyed morning breakfast. No hot water in the bathroom sink. Needed a shelf to put things on in the shower.
- Dor (9/5): - The room was very nice, breakfast was good The smell in the room was bad sometimes
- Sean Murphy (10/5): -
- Geraldine (9/5): Very good stay - Nice property and very friendly staff. We enjoyed the breakfast, and the efficient laundry service. Communication with the host was great throughout.
- Alexine (8/5): pleasant - The hosts were very friendly and gave excellent advice.
- Ben (10/5): A perfect little gem in nature. - I am so glad I stayed here; It was exactly what I was looking for - somewhere peaceful and nested in nature.
The place was immaculately clean. There was a daily cleaner who also provided laundry services at no extra cost - it was so convenient, and nice to come back to a freshly made bed every day (and no sand on the floor!).
If you're a nature lover you will love it here. The tree right next to the place was home to a troop of howler monkeys who fortunately are silent during the night; however they made a good early morning alarm clock just as the sun came up!
The natural ambience makes this place so relaxing - whether it's a tropical downpour, crickets and frogs chirping at night or the sound of tropical birds in the morning and throughout the day. You can even hear the waves from the ocean. I slept like a baby.
The owner is lovely and went out of her way to make sure it had a lot of good tips for things to do in bocas del Toro, places to go, things to see and places to eat. She kept in touch via WhatsApp so if I had any questions it was easy to get hold of her.
The bed felt new, and was incredibly comfortable.
100% I would stay here again :-) The property was perfect and I wouldn't change a thing.
Some general advice for things you may worry about:
The shower takes a couple of minutes to get hot but when it does it happens quickly, is sustained and is luxurious (so don't panic if it doesn't get hot right away! Give it time).
It's a 35-minute walk into town (with plenty of nice scenery along the way), however, yellow taxes are driving past all the time and you only have to wave one down and you'll get there in no time for about $3. Or even better, rent an E-Bike! (highly recommended for seeing the whole island at your own pace).
- María (9/5): -
- Reda (10/5): A stay to experience ! Very locely staff ! - Amazing vibe, very tropical feeling !
- Bayo (10/5): -
- Flynn (10/5): Will stay here again. Our group enjoyed the location, comfortable beds, and the staff - location, staff, wildlife Nothing...Everything was wonderful!
- Irene (10/5): Perfecta - Un 10!!

- Cristina (8/5): Very good - Amazing concept. Nice property, loved preparing breakfast in the Al fresco kitchen with a sea view. Bianca she is a great host. Clean property, bit expensive, thought. Downside was the behaviour of the cleaning lady. Very disappointed.
- Robert (9/5): Superb - The host Bianca is extremely personable and pleasant. It is right across from the beach. Right between town and Skully's restaurants/bar swimming pool and rentals. Air conditioner worked extremely well and it was a relaxing, private jungle oasis.
- Loren (10/5): Exceptional -
- Alexander (10/5): Bianca was a fantastic host and I would recommend this place to anyone visiting the island who wants a little slice of p -
- Alexandra (10/5): Exceptional - lovely, quiet, clean nothing
- Comeau (5/5): It was decent but I don't think we would stay there again. The host was great. - Bianca the current host was very helpful and accommodating. She provided information around the area that allowed us to enjoy our daily excursions and she was great to communicate with and very responsive. We were pleased that the bed was a king size which was accurate on the listing. Other hotels said king but were not. The closet provided adequate space and room itself was fine. The air conditioning worked great. The housekeeper was also very helpful and friendly. She was there all day ensuring the facilities were clean and even provided laundry services. The restaurants nearby were very nice and there were many options to access by a short taxi ride. Bluff beach was amazing and worth visiting. Had we not stayed in this area, we may never had known of the places to visit away from the main town. Although the bed was a king size it was too soft for me and I found it uncomfortable. However, my husband didn't mind it. We both disliked the pillows. The shower had a hand held shower attachment but it did not work. The hot water was hit and miss. There was a bad smell in the room most of the time. 4 of the 8 outlets in the room did not work but Bianca was quick to have them repaired. The common kitchen was very close to the road and although it was nice to watch people walk and ride by, it was very loud at times. We rarely used the kitchen facilities but others did and seemed to enjoy it. The one morning we planned on using the stove the propane tank was not there so were were unable to make our breakfast. I was surprised there was no freezer since ice is essential for most travellers. The location was not the best if you wanted to be close to the action in town but we didn't mind being somewhat removed from the main town. We were able to take taxi's and buses easily which we caught right in front of Somewhere to visit the beautiful beaches. Having said all this, we still had a great time and enjoyed our visit overall.
- John (7/5): A Good Value With Some Room for Improvement - Good value. Staff was extremely helpful & responsive. Room was a bit austere, but the air-conditioner worked extremely well. Fan over bed was nice as well as was the room safe. There was a loft at the property entrance we climbed up into in order to enjoy the view & a breeze. A 10-15 min walk to Pipa Restaurant & Bar...had a great beach vibe & good prices. The shower temperature was very finicky. Took several minutes to get water warm, lasting only a few mins, starting a new cycle of adjisting knobs and waiting for warm water. A tremendous waste of a precious resource. Somewhere had a water cooler at the property front entrance, but that was all they had to offer in terms of food or refreshment.
- Anne (8/5): Very good - Many aspects were great, most notably the staff. Bianca was incredibly helpful during our stay, providing great suggestions for sight seeing and restaurants. It was conveniently located in that a nice beach/restaurant (Pipa Beach) was within an easy walking distance, and taxis were available right outside the door. Even town could be reached on foot if we wanted via the lighted bike trail. The noise from the road was annoying. The kitchen was not fully functioning during our stay so cooking was not an option.
- Matthew (10/5): Exceptional -
- Lesley (9/5): Great place to stay in Bocas Town by the Beach - I loved the location of the property (away from the noise of town) and the relaxed vibe of the hotel. The staff, Bianca and Marilluz, are wonderful and truly care that you have a a comfortable experience. The place is a bit rustic but it's all part of Bocas. There were a few snafus, but the staff worked hard to find solutions and remedy and I couldn't ask for more than that. I'm not a smoker and many Europeans do smoke outside in the common areas.
- Terry (2/5): I recommend you stay elsewhere. - The hostess Bianca and the housekeeper made up for a lot of the property's shortfalls with their attitudes. A decent store and a couple of decent restaurants are within easy walking distance. We rented here because they advertised cooking facilities and we wanted to save a little money not eating every meal out. Upon arrival we were told they had no gas and no permit for a stove, on our last day of a week's stay, lo and behold there was gas, though we weren't told so. T.V. didn't work, the shower would give you 45 seconds of boiling hot water after a ten minute wait (sometimes) then turn icy cold again. Only some of the lights worked. The bedding and towels were laundered but stained and torn. But at least our cheesy door lock worked, I heard a couple of rooms didn't. The common area is right next to a very busy and noisy road, not a pleasant place to hang, but did offer a view of the ocean. Part of the thatched roof fell in while I was sitting there and barely missed me. The bed was too soft for me and aggravated my sciatica and an old shoulder injury. The pillows were thin and worn out.
- Oren (9/5): Superb -
- Manuel (10/5): I think the best and cleanest room in bocas del toro - The room was simply wonderful, confortable and perfectly cleaned. It was quite close to the town (1$ by taxi) The garden is beautiful but infested with mosquitoes
- Ivan (10/5): Exceptional - Peace and quiet
- Idan (4/5): Disappointing - It was clean The shared kitchen was open access to strangers.
No hot water or stream in the shower
No access to close beach so the place just far from everything.
The bad was very uncomfortable.
- Henrry (10/5): Exceptional - Friendly staff and very helpful when you need any assistant in regards to find places to go or any excursions
- Jacob (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kahlia (7/5): Rooms have AC - Cleanl room. They have bottled water on site. Rooms have AC. The "beach" in front of the hotel is not really a beach at all, it's just the ocean right next to the road. There is no front desk, this place works more like an airbnb where they give you they keys and then you are on your own. Location isn't the best it's in the middle of town and then the nice beach (playa bluff). So it means a lot of walking or taxis, which to be fair are pretty cheap.
- Fabiola (10/5): Amazing - The room was comfy, and the amenities were great ! And also the place was really secured and equipped. The location was a bit far away from the center, but there is a bus station in front of the property to go to many beaches
- Konstantin (8/5): Very good -
- Marie-claude (8/5): Quiet little place for relaxing - Cecilia, the manager is very helpful and told us all about the area. They have a well equiped common kitchenette where we can make our own meals It's a bit far from town... you have to take a taxi since most attractions are not walkable distance.
There could be more furniture or shelves to keep our luggage off the floor, and a second chair in the room would be welcome
- Diana (9/5): Connectivity, and Convenience - Nestled just outside the bustling noise of the city, this hotel stands as a beacon of tranquility and strategic location. Its positioning is nothing short of genius – close enough to the city for ease of access yet far enough to escape the clamor. The convenience is further enhanced by the fact that all forms of transportation, from taxis to public buses, effortlessly stop right at the hotel's doorstep. Remarkably, just beyond the hotel, public transport routes split, making it the perfect launching point for any adventure.
Cleanliness and quietude are the hallmarks of this establishment. From the pristine condition of every room and common area to the peaceful ambiance that permeates the surroundings, it's clear that the hotel is dedicated to providing a restful and hygienic environment for all its guests.
In today's world, a strong internet connection is non-negotiable, and this hotel delivers. The Wi-Fi is reliable and fast, catering to the needs of every guest, whether streaming, browsing, or video calling. This connectivity, combined with the hotel's serene environment, makes it an ideal spot for digital nomads and professionals. The co-working spaces are well-designed, blending comfort with functionality, and are equipped to fuel productivity and creativity.
The staff at this hotel are a treasure. Their eagerness to go above and beyond is evident in every interaction. Not only do they cater to guests' needs with a smile, but they also offer invaluable local insights. From sharing strategic contacts like taxi services and restaurant recommendations to advising on the best beaches and hidden gems, the staff's voluntary tips elevate the guest experience from good to extraordinary.
Whether you're looking for a quiet retreat, a productive workcation, or a strategic base to explore the surroundings, this hotel is the perfect choice.
- Matija (10/5): Perfect stay - Somewhere is a perfect property, well equiped rooms, efficient AC, with shared kitchen/cooking space. Location near the see/beach, we saw monkeys 50 m from the property. Extremely helpful staff. There is a problem with taxis to the city. It's not so efficient as mentioned in some of the reviews. At one occasion we have waited for almost an hour to get the ride.
- Stefan (9/5): Superb -
- Isabelle (10/5): Really good place to stay in bocas del toro - Very clean and comfy room, jungle view from the shower. We got woken up by the sounds of birds and monkeys. The kitchen in the common area is very well equipped and clean. Big fridge for your groceries. We had a wonderful stay, great place to discover the island. The owner gave us all the info we needed, e.g. his the bus works, good spots for food, places to rent bikers etc. No big deal, but a set of chairs on the porch in front of the room would be a cool thing :)
- Irene (9/5): Nice clean hotel with communal kitchen outside of Bocas - Clean and comfortable room with wonderful kitchen and friendly staff.
- Sabrina (10/5): If you want to feel connected to nature but still be close the town, this is your place to be. - The location is perfect. Beach and Jungle - best of both worlds. We could see monkeys there. While in Bocas Town it’s very loud and crowded and there is no access to the water, somewhere is a quiet nice place with the beach for a swim in front and the jungle behind, but you are still only a few minutes taxi drive (1$ p.P.) from the town, or a walk (~30min). It’s also half the way to some surfspots - however, taxi price is ~ 5$ to go there. Taxis are passing by frequently. There is also a special somewhere discount for renting motorbikes. There is a little street between beach and resort, but it doesn’t bothered us much.
The room was super clean, spacious, new and nice equipped, the bed is sooooo soft and comforted, from the (warm!) shower you can look into the jungle.
The manager, Ceci, is just lovely - she explained and helped us a lot and was always open for a nice chat (in perfect English).
Another highlight was the beautiful outdoor kitchen. We usually avoid cooking in shared kitchen, but this one was so clean, so well equipped and spacious, we cooked here every day. Every room has its own space for storing stuff and there are two huge fridges.
Coffee and drinking water was for free (luxury, because a bottle of water costs over 3$ at Bocas even in the supermarket).
Because of the nice shared spaces, it was easy to connect with other guests and we had a lot of nice chats.
There is also a nice roof terrace that is a great place for a yoga session. Nothing, everything was perfect!
Maybe, there could be a little more places to sit and chill (for example chairs at the private patio, or deck chairs at the roof terrace).
- Nancie (8/5): A great safe place to stay. Excellent host/manager. We'll be back. - Ceci is a wonderful host. She took individual care for each of the guests, arranging taxis, providing information about restaurants and beaches. The bed was comfortable, showers hot, well-equipped kitchen and refrigerator and stove.
Excellent AC in rooms. Excellent wifi. The walls between the rooms are thin, so if you're noise-sensitive, have some earplugs handy.
A little bit out of town, so quieter however taking a bus or taxi is needed. Maybe after the road construction is done, it will be much better to walk or bike into town.
- Jonathan (8/5): Beautiful place - The hotel is located out of bocas town which is good. The hotel is comfortable and the host is very welcoming and provides a lot of information and tips on where to eat, visit and how to get there. The shower is mainly cold and whilst the hotel location is good to be out of bocas town to be prepared to wait for a taxi back on an evening as the taxis in bocas are far from ideal or regular.
- Linda (9/5): Lovely stay! - Cecilia is an amazing host! She shared many local recommendations, and she is extremely helpful.
The accommodation is simple, but meets all expectations! Nothing!
- Fiona (9/5): Great spot - very comfortable. - Lovely quiet spot out of town with comfortable bed and pillows. Plenty of buses and shared taxis go past and it’s only $1pp to town. The shared kitchen well equipped and a fantastic space - some mornings we saw monkeys heading out for their day! The water cooler with hot and cold water was useful. The nearby beach was very calm and a pleasant place to spends some time.
Cecile was very helpful and provided lots of useful information. There is a restaurant called Pipa which is a 10 min walk further away from Somewhere. The Saturno laundry in town charged $6 for a bag of laundry
- David (10/5): Great spot for a couple of nights - We loved Ceci our amazing host and Pancho the little crocodile. Also the sea view common kitchen, upstairs chill pad with hammock and yoga deck but Ceci really was the best!! All the passing trucks on the road and pillows were a little big for our taste
- Caroline (10/5): Emphatically: You must stay here! - Did you always want to feel at home, even when you're far away from home? Then you've come to the right place: the owners, Cecilia and Marie (I hope I've got their names right?) are simply wonderful. They will help you with everything (even if you need eggs for your breakfast!), local tips, insider tips, and just everything. It's a paradise here! And the resident pet "Pancho" (be careful...hihi) is an adventure.
- Simone (10/5): Exceptional -
- Simone (10/5): Exceptional - Somewhere is a cozy, modern place which is just right out of the busy area of Bocas del Toro, but still easily reachable by bike or by taxi from town. Cecilia is a super attentive host and assisted us with all our requests. She always took care of our needs and had a lot of recommendations, which we were lucky to follow. We'd love to come back to this amazing place! 🩵
- Kateřina (10/5): Surfer dream - The place was like from a surfer dream. Everything was clean, the staff was very helpfull and friendly and there was a kitchen and a relax space for you.
There was very nice window to the jungle from the shower and sea just across the Road. No TV in our room.
- Philipp (9/5): Cute little apartments with all you need - Amazing small apartments with large bed, AC & Fan, a safe and warm showers. Common kitchen has almost anything you need, and the staff was super forthcoming (we were offered fresh coffee daily). It was the most comfortable stay we’ve had in a while, and the price was very good for this offer.
- Limor (2/5): Very poor - Cecilia was nice and help with ingormation but didnt help when had issue Room wasnt clean on next day.we stayed.
Rkkm sml not good smell misding light.
Location far from center need a ride to each direction.
Not recomended
- Graff (8/5): Amazing stay. Great hostest, who helped us a lot in finding the best restuarants and tours. A great deal! - The property was in an ideal location. Close to town, but far enough away to wake up peacefully in the morning. The room was clean and the property was charming. It started torrentially raining during our stay and the roof over the palm roof over the kitchen struggled to keep the water out, so the kitchen floor was flooded. However, we didn’t really need to use the kitchen so this was not a major problem for us.
- Agata (10/5): A quiet place to get some rest, a bit away from the noisy center filled with great restaurants - Beautiful location, just in front of the beach, and very helpful people everything was perfect
- Rhiannon (8/5): Very good - Great setting, the staff were lovely - also a bonus crocodile in the stream next to it!
- <ramar> (10/5): Awesome value and great location ! - Great value !
The owner is awesome. She gave us lots of tips abouth how to move around , where to go and what are the best places to eat around.
The location is perfect . Very close to the town . In front of the property there is a nice beach that you could use.
Also the location is on the road to Bluff Beach and Boca Del Drago / Estrella and the buseses are crossing in front of the hotel. So if you don't want to use local taxis they are very convenient .
The property was well beyond our expectations .
The bed is 5 star hotel level. Very big , enough for a family with a small kid sleeping with you ( that was very important for us ) .
Also they could arrange laundry service for you if the case . Nothing really . I would 100% recommend this property .
- Laima (9/5): Superb - perfect location could be some furniture to sit in shared area on the top
- Laura (9/5): Beautiful stay in Bocas - A beautiful property with a lush green garden, and even the chance to spot monkeys and other animals. The rooms are comfortable (incredibly nice bed) and well decorated. There is a common space with a kitchen area where you can cook and store food, and there is a water dispenser so drinking water is readily available. The location is good in the sense that it is very quiet, away from the busy town, and there is a beach right across the property. A taxi into town was always relatively quick to find, and cost only $1-2. The room was a bit small, and it would be nice to have a chair on the terrace in front of the room. The room was not cleaned every day.
- Catarina (8/5): Very good - The hotel was very recent and well maintained, the rooms have a good size and the common kitchen is very good.
The location is good, near a small beach but you need to go by taxi or rent a moto to go to town. We had some problems with the hot water and some leakage which the owners always tried to solve as fast as possible. We had some problems with food disappearing so I think it would be good to lock the fridge only for the guests to access it.
- Joana (7/5): Good - De location was nice, not really in the center but 10/15min max by motorbike.
The zone was quite and there is a small beach in front where you can go for a swim.
It has a nice kitchen with good space to cook.
The bedroom was spacious with a big bed but too soft.
The hotel have motorbikes that you can rent for a nice price, however the lights were not working properly and it took a long time to get it fixed. Thought the owner offer us the option to find onder motorbikes and could give us de money back. The kitchen is open space to the main entrance so everyone can actually go in. We had a problem in the first night where someone stole food/drinks from the fridge.
As for the shower, it was difficult to keep the water at the right temperature, it was either very hot or very cold and sometimes the hot water ran out.
- Angelika (10/5): A must stay! - We couldn't have imagine a better place to stay! Nice rooms, beautiful garden, beach right in front of the accommodation. Etienne was very kind and helpful! Also the cleaning workers were very friendly! At night/morning everything you hear is the sea and wildlife. We were happy to escape the crowded and loud centre, though it's very easy to get a taxi to the centre (just stand beside the road and take the next one coming for just one dollar). We would absolutely come back again!
- Marthena (8/5): nice place w great staff, peaceful, quiet, but cops like to hang around this place - The good: hosts were super helpful & friendly. There were monkeys & geckos hangin around the property and that was really the only noise. People who stay here aren’t ragers & they like the quiet life. There’s a community kitchen w everything you need: coffee maker, refrigerator & freezer, stove, utensils, pots & pans, plates utensils etc. There was almost always available filtered water. It was easy enough to get into town & back for $1 each way by cab. we never had to wait too long for a cab here. Far enough from town but not too far like paunch or bluff. Was worried about the bed being too soft based on reviews but my bf and I both have sensitive backs when it comes to beds but my partner and I both slept great! ac worked ok. The bad: apparently this is a spot the cops like to hang out. literally you’ll come out of your room & there’s cops in the kitchen / lounge area. One day they stopped my partner as he was gonna cross the street to take a dip in the ocean & they gave us the run down on the rules. They just reminded him that you can’t walk around with alcohol or walk around without a shirt. nothing bad but Made us feel like we were under surveillance 👎🏽
Water in the shower is hot when it wants to be. the A/c feels cold as long as you shut the closet & bathroom doors & only cool down the room.
Suggestions for hotel: Could use another chair. One chair for inside and zero outside on your own balcony isn’t ideal. Two patio chairs and a mini table on the balcony would be great. the only way you can sit outside is in the shared space but sometimes you wanna sit outside and not be social with the whole hotel.
also, tell the cops to hang out elsewhere. they just bring bad vibes & don’t make everyone feel safe. (and no, we weren’t trying to do illegal things, but just don’t love feeling watched. it’s like a cop driving behind you, you could be driving the speed limit, sober, with seatbelt, and it still nerve wracking & annoying).
Would I stay here again? Yeah. Good vibes. if they had chairs on the private patio and no cops, I’d have rated this place a 9.5.
- Smaragda (9/5): Superb - Very nice location, close to town. Nice and clean room. Great communication with the owner.
