• Jane (9/5): Comfortable stay to visit family in Bangor - Really clean with lots of room, comfortable bed , good WiFi and plenty of tv options. Loved the bathroom Was a little noisy with it being a Saturday night but was quiet after 12, nothing ear plugs couldn’t fix. A couple of coffees pods would have been nice or maybe just a kettle would be good.

• Alison (10/5): A spot of luxury in Menai Bridge - Great location, generous room with contemporary decor and excellent facilities, including a Sonos, coffee machine, USB sockets and a fantastic shower. Really appreciated the excellent tea, coffee and sparkling water provided, as well as lovely toiletries in the bathroom. Took us a little while to find the right entrance! Also had to contend with stairs/luggage which was fine but may be an issue for anyone with limited mobility. Some confusion around parking, but able to extend via the app without nipping out early doors. Main problem was lack of plugs near the mirror - not too much of a problem for one night but not great for hair/makeup. Could also have done with a fan as it was very hot, but the weather had been lousy most of the week so probably not expected.

• jon (6/5): Very clean and modern property, think they had a few teething problems - Location was great It was modern and very clean The heater was off and it took a while to work out how to switch it on, and the coffee pod machine didn’t have pods, just coffee bags and no kettle.had to check in online to get a code, which took ages. It didn’t help the internet in the area was not the best

• ida (10/5): great night, everything needed for a quick stay ... i dont think the photos do it justice - - lovely surprise the level of design and decor - simple but attractive and providing comfort.. easy pizza restaurant on site and fabulous coffee and croissants from 8 am - and the papers .. didnt find anything irritating

It was an exceptionally hot weekend and there were only 2 small windows, so not great air circulation. We appreciated that weather is one thing you cannot control and would stay here again and recommend regardless.

It was very warm when we stayed, so unfortunately we needed to sleep with the windows open - which meant we were woken early by traffic. The windows however did have good double glazing so if kept shut would have kept sound to a minimum.

• Stephania (10/5): Lovely short stay in Menai Bridge - The whole room just looked really nice. The bedroom and the bathroom were both modern, equipped with the essential stuff, the bed was massive and extremely comfy, there also was a big tv in the room. The room itself was quite cozy, with tons of pillows and a really warm duvet. The owners were really friendly and helpful. They also have a cafe-restaurant at the front, where we went to have breakfast in the morning, and we had fresh and delicious foccacias.

• Megan Barstow (9/5): I would recommend Sgwâr to my friends - The room was a great size and had all the needed amenities. Communication from the staff was really good. The shower was particularly great. The location was near bus stops and walkable to Menai high street and pubs. Coffee and pastries in the cafe were also excellent.

• Sarah (7/5): - Lovely room, quiet even though on a busy road, nice decor, comfy bed. Nice touch having oat milk alternative. Easy to access, good sized room. No kettle so tea tasted like coffee dregs. Mirror would be better placed by dressing table but didn't massively cause me an issue. Parking is difficult so it's not ideal if you can't park close and have a few bags!

Had to open the windows for some air circulation it was really warm but the noise was then very noticeable especially on a Saturday night. I would loved to have has a fan of some sorts or air conditioning

Only negatives was a musty smell in bathroom and would prefer a kettle in the room rather than the coffee machine which served Luke warm drinks! Noise from nearby pub!

• Derek (9/5): Modern, clean and well worth the price - Booked 3 rooms for the visit - all were similar in regards to coffee machine / TV etc. Rooms clean and quite modern Bed was comfortable and not much noise from outside despite being on a crossroad Netflix available on the TV's - seems each room has it's own individual ID We had issues with the codes to the rooms when we arrived - couldn't find the details in the Booking.com app as they'd been sent via e-mail (sent to work e-mail and I'd been away from work for 3 weeks) However - the owner's app had highlighted issues accessing the rooms and appeared within a minute or two without us contacting him (top marks there)
• Laura (9/5): A lovely overnight stay - The location was excellent. Close to all amenities, restaurants, bars, and shops. The property was clean, spacious, and comfortable. The only complaint we have is the noise from the traffic. We totally appreciate that the property is in town, and there will be traffic, but it sounded as though the windows were open when they weren't. Other than that, it was an excellent stay.
• Jane (8/5): Great location, boutique style accommodation - Great location in the centre of Menai Bridge. Prompt communication and good instructions for access etc. Basically go to the back of the building (cafe/restaurant) for access door. I stayed in the Boutique room on the second floor. Huge bed, nicely furnished room. Great WiFi but no phone signal. Great tv with plenty of channel options. Good hairdryer and also a full length mirror in the room. Only a coffee machine - no kettle. Not everyone is a coffee drinker. The overhead shower had very poor water pressure or needs attention- was unable to use - and had to use the handheld shower instead. No plug socket near the full length mirror or the one in the bathroom- so you can’t style your hair and see what you’re doing - just a minor irritation. Enough room for an easy chair which would be a nice addition

• Jess (4/5): Next to a noisy pub, owners lack customer service - Modern room and bathroom, absolutely spotless. Lovely smelling products and soft towels. Nice to have Netflix available too. Unfortunately we did not enjoy our night here. Whatever you do, don’t stay on a Saturday evening. The local pub directly opposite plays extremely loud music until about 12/1am and it’s all you can hear and the people coming out when it closes are loud and inconsiderate. We also had some terrible guests stay in the next room, who came back to their room after the pub had closed and proceeded to have a party in their room using the speakers provided in each room - why on earth you’d provide speakers anyway is beyond me as it encourages further inconsiderate behaviour from guests who don’t know how to stay in a hotel. Then Sunday morning the recycling van comes around and empties all the glass bins waking you up about 0700, so all in all we had about 4 hours sleep. It was hot in our room due to no air conditioning or a fan, which is fine usually but when you can’t open the windows because of the noise it’s a problem. We also had a bizarre experience with the cafe downstairs, as far as we know it’s owned by the same owners - we went in to ask for some oat milk as we have an allergy to dairy milk that was provided in our room - the charge for about 50ml of milk was 50p, when asked if I was paying cash or card I said card but this was under the minimum spend and because I didn’t have money on me I mentioned I’m staying above, could I possible have the splash of milk for free? And I was refused as it’s two seperate businesses. It’s 50p of milk and I paid £140 for the room, I’m sure that’s covered in the profit margins on the rooms or the services provided in the cafe if they are that strict on their profit and loss being seperate for each business. Ridiculously daft. And based on that alone we would not recommend this place to any of our friends or family who frequently come to Anglesey. We were also going to have breakfast in this cafe the next morning but decided against spending £25-£30 simply because we were refused 50p of milk for an allergy alternative.
