• stephen (8/5): Excellent value. Nightmare first day, remedied and excellent value option. - Very good value. Judge somewhere by how they deal with problems. The first night was a disaster, there is no generator so no fans or aircon when the power goes off but frustratingly kept awake by next doors generator. The plumbing also wasn’t working so no shower or toilet and the children staying in the Masai huts discovered the roofs leak in the rain. However, we were all moved into new rooms the following morning, good aircon, good shower, large clean rooms, incredible value. Breakfast is underwhelming better to wander and find somewhere with a view. A tip: On a budget the rooms here are really very very acceptable but no hotel facilities so Grab a tuktuk in the morning. 15000tsh Several 5* hotels in kendwa do a surprisingly affordable day rate for use of pool and sunbed all day. (We paid 20000pp at kendwa rocks off season) Caution no generator and the Masai huts in rainy season.

• Luther (9/5): Magnifique, apaisant relaxant. - L’endroit est super mignon, les chambres sont belles et propres. C’est bien aménagé et on voit qu’il y a un effort sur la déco ce n’est pas juste fait pour dormir. Seul le wifi n’était pas vraiment stable mais sur une île comme zanzibar ce n’est pas vraiment important.
• Rebeca (7/5): alojamiento a buen precio - El hotel no tiene grandes lujos pero la habitación es amplia. Reservamos una de dos plazas y una cabaña. La cabaña es de adobe estilo masai sin baño, como experiencia de una noche puede servir, pero son más cómodas las habitaciones. Si buscas un sitio económico que te sirva de alojamiento (sin querer disfrutar de un resort o algo así) es un lugar perfecto, humilde pero limpio, espacioso y con todo lo necesario. Lo mejor para mi las chicas que lo llevan. El desayuno bien también, cantidad suficiente y te dan a elegir como quieres los huevos (fritos, revueltos…). La ubicación también está bien, al final de la playa de Nuwgi, alejado del mogollón de hoteles pero cerca de todo. Al lado de las tortugas. A 10 minutos andando por la playa está el mejor restaurante local, Fish Market. El mejor pescado al mejor precio. Nos encantó!!! Y si sales del Fish Market por la carretera hacia el pueblo, todo recto hasta llegar al mismo poblado, encontrarás una casa que vende bolsos de mimbre/ paja hechos por ellas mismas a un precio de 35.000 chelines tanzanos (unos 12 € al cambio) ideales!!! No puedo decir nada que no me gustara. Puede haber detalles que lo pueden hacer mejor sitio (cuidar el jardín más que es precioso y está salvaje), poner champú en el baño… pero son detalles para hacerlo de 10. Por el precio está bien.
• Linda (10/5): Urlaub machen mit Erleben für Land, Einwohner & Tiere - Super lieber Inhaber & Personal. Sie waren immer ansprechbar und haben sich bei Bedarf gekümmert. Auch das Preis Leistungsverhältnis fanden wir gut. Wir hatten sogar das Glück, dass die Affen vom nahegelegenen Zoo zu Besuch kamen. Die waren sehr lieb. Sansibar kämpft mit vielen Stromausfällen aber der Inhaber hat extra während unseres Aufenthalts einen Generator gekauft, damit wir immer Strom haben. Super gelöst!
• Sally (10/5): Lovely place, would stay again. - Amazing room - I upgraded to a luxury double and the price was great. Good breakfast. Location quiet but close to beach and a short walk into town. The girls who look after guests are absolutely lovely. Management need to make electronic payments easy or allow payment via Booking.com. I eventually was able to pay by card but it went through twice so waiting for payment to settle.

Zanzibar sufre muchos apagones diarios de luz y el hotel no dispone de generador por lo que nos quedamos en muchas ocasiones sin luz y sin posibilidad de usar el agua. Eso si, nos proporcionaron duchas en otro hotel cada vez que pasaba.

Sofina and her ladies were so smiling. Oh i love them so much, they were helpful with you. Goodvibes all the time. Miss Sofina even adviced me to come home before 7pm because it was election. Thanks for the concern sofina. With Miss sofina and her ladies i couldn't say more. During my stay was confortable and Restful. it was just outstanding service. From taxi, money exchanged, ideas, those small request i asked they can comply. excellent service! You can reach them anytime of the day. You just call there name in the garden they can hear you :) My only concern too was wifi It was just the wifi 3 days before the election we didnt have wifi. I highly recommend this place. No wifi at all the entire week

• Andrey (8/5): Вполне нормальный вариант - Уютный отель, рядом с пляжем, меньше 5 минут пешком (но после обеда отлив, так что купаться не вариант). Улучшили вариант проживания бесплатно, номер просторный, горячая вода есть. Завтрак омлет, кофе, тосты с джемом, фрукты. Не было вайфая, несколько раз обращался к персоналу, так и не получил. В номере не было вешалки и так по мелочам.

Nel bagno il rubinetto del lavandino non era funzionante e l'ultimo giorno non avevamo acqua per fare la doccia e ci siamo lavati in un bagno "comune". La posizione non è comodissima, ma considerando il prezzo ci si può accontentare

The hotel is at a good place, the satff are very friendly. I do not know why i booked a room with a shared bathroom. The bathroom floods with water the drainage is very poor and the toilet was dirty making t very uncomfortable to use. Dont know about the other rooms maybe they are better.

• Alba (10/5): Excellent - Zanzigo was a lovely place to stay during our 2 nights in Nungwi. The room is beautiful, spacious and the bed is huge. Also the bathroom had hot water. Breakfast was yummy and it was different the two days so it was nice to have variety. The staff were nice and the owner helped us with everything. They have a parking space inside. The beach is nearby. Maybe it is a bit far from the center but we didn’t mind walking.

• sebastien (10/5): Awesome stay, kind owner & staff, recommended! - The hostel is nicely set in a gorgeous garden, close to the beach, but far enough from the harassing hypercenter. The staff is very nice, especially Safira, and the owner, Mounir, is a true gentleman, always keen on helping us. The room is nicely decorated, luminous, and the bed was huge and comfy. It was a pleasure to sleep there. Breakfast is consistent, and the welcoming with fresh fruits is a nice detail! Fully recommended Once a 5 min electricity shut down (affecting the whole island, nothing to do against, that is just part of the normal life if you travel to Zanzibar)

Sarebbe andata meglio se non ci fossero stati inconvenienti Una notte siamo stati svegliati dal manager e da una delle ragazze , perché dovevano prendere delle valigie da sotto al letto. Cosa apparsa un po’ strana. Acqua molte volte fredda e con poca potenza , abbiamo avuto un problema con il WC comunicato al menager e alle ragazze gia dal secondo giorno con la promessa che avrebbero risolto il problema , siamo andati via e non ci hanno risolto il problema

J'aurais dû loger dans une maisonnette massaï mais il a surclassé mon hébergement et j'ai donc eu le droit à une chambre double pour le même prix ! De plus, j'ai pu rester jusqu'à 17h afin de pouvoir prendre une dernière douche et de préparer tranquillement mes affaires avant mon vol de retour. C'est une personne au grand cœur qui est prête à vous aider pour rendre votre séjour le plus agréable possible. Les locaux sont très jolis et très bien entretenus, la décoration est sympa et le jardin est fort agréable. Je recommande cet hébergement haut de gamme.

Maleducazione e menefreghismo del manager: la prima notte ci ha svegliato per ritirare delle valigie nascoste sotto il letto, utilizzando la scusa di un'immediata partenza a causa della madre malata. Era una scusa, perché la stessa cosa si è ripetuta poco dopo, con un'altra coppia vicino alla nostra stanza, alla quale ha fornito un altro motivo. Per lo spavento (l'ingresso alla struttura, sulla strada, è sempre aperto e senza guardia), non abbiamo più dormito. Accordato un rimborso per la prima notte, tramite una delle ragazze dell'accoglienza, in fine questo ci è stato negato, senza riuscire ad avere un confronto con lui. 2. Acqua quasi sempre assente: abbiamo aspettato il secondo giorno per una doccia con acqua ad intermittenza e impossibile da miscelare (o bollente o ghiacciata). 3. Il piatto doccia era rotto in diversi pezzi col rischio di tagliarsi. 4. Il tanto millantato WiFi veloce non funzionava. Ho dovuto consumare i miei dati mobili. 5. Come anticipato nel punto 1. l'ingresso è sempre aperto (cancelletto rotto) e dà sulla strada, frequentata di notte da persone poco raccomandabili. 6. Nessun avviso sul non lasciare oggetti e cibo sulla veranda, per la presenza di scimmie. 7. Non possedendo passpartout, dovevamo lasciare la chiave al personale, il quale la "dimenticava" inserita nella toppa all'esterno...cosicché chiunque dall'esterno sarebbe potuto entrare indisturbato. 8. Personale senza alcuna formazione: giovanissime ragazze molto gentili, ma impreparate.

• Elli (5/5): Μείνετε μακριά - Το πρωινό, η αισθητική του χώρου και η τοποθεσία. 1. Όσο μείναμε (3 βράδια) εκεί δεν μας άλλαξαν ούτε μια φορά πετσέτες, σεντόνια, δεν πήραν τα σκουπίδια και δεν ανανέωσαν το χαρτί υγείας. 2. Πέρα από την πρώτη μέρα που πήγαμε δεν είχε ίντερνετ και παρόλο που το αναφέραμε πολλές φορές δεν το έφτιαξαν. 3. Ο χώρος αποθήκευσης των σκουπιδιών του ξενοδοχείου ήταν ακριβώς πίσω από τα δωμάτια και συγκεκριμένα δίπλα στο παράθυρο του μπάνιου με αποτέλεσμα όλη μέρα να μυρίζει το δωμάτιο έντονα και άσχημα, ακόμα και όταν καθόμασταν στη βεράντα. 4. Λόγω της απουσίας ίντερνετ δεν μπορούσαμε να χρησιμοποιήσουμε το κλιματιστικό γιατί δεν στελνόταν το σήμα από το χειριστήριο και χρειάστηκε να βολευτούμε με έναν ανεμιστήρα. 5. Καθόλη την διάρκεια της ημέρας το προσωπικό έκανε πάρα πολύ φασαρία, ασταμάτητα και καθόταν πίσω από τα δωμάτια, με δυνατή μουσική και ομιλίες, μέρα και νύχτα. Επειδή δεν είχε καθόλου ηχομόνωση το δωμάτιο, ο θόρυβος ακουγόταν κανονικά και τις βραδινές ώρες κοινής ησυχίας. 6. Η μπανιέρα με το πρώτο μπάνιο πλημμύριζε επειδή το σιφώνι δεν μπορούσε να απορροφήσει καλά το νερό και μετά από μια μέρα άδειαζε ξανά.
• Saad (4/5): - Location , size of room , clean, staff kindness We had to wait 30 min in the gate in the night 11PM (even with a 24/7 reception), and had to call many many times from different phones the number diplayed in booking , no signalitics in the gate , Room was not ready at 11PM , towels was put to dray in all balcony, bed had no sheet, no linnen, no covers, no towels, no bottle of water, nothing .... actually room was just not ready to be open for booking . Hotel have no bank card payment terminal, and accept only USD in cash, if you want to pay Euro or local currency Tanzanian shilling, they put their own rate which is a way higher that the market , unfair ! Staff are polite but you get : So sorry , but is the owner who decide , we can do nothing. NOT helpfull.
• Sam C (8/5): Authentic, relaxing and warm with rustic charm and modern comforts. - This is an absolutely stunning property with the right room choice <3 Safina and Mounir are some of the gentlest, warm hosts who make you feel at ease and at home. The breakfast included is lovely, and the property has a rustic charm, and plenty of cute kittens, which give it an authentic Zanzibar feel. We also loved the location. Between the West and East coasts of Nungwi, it was easy to access beaches all around - head West if you want a busier vibe and East for more tranquil settings. The King Rooms with Garden views are exceptional. Large, great bathrooms with excellent shower pressure, safes, and air conditioning. We also loved the included breakfasts! However, the smaller hut-style rooms were not great. One of our roofs leaked, and the bathrooms these rooms share could use some TLC. That said, Mounir and Safina were kind enough to move one of our party with a leaking roof into a garden view room for which she was very happy. So yes, with the right room choice, one of the best experiences we've had!

• haller (10/5): A well-priced gem complemented by an incredible host. - Mounir was a truly excellent host who went above and beyond most. As a woman travelling alone, I sincerely appreciated his friendly warmth, attention to detail, and the insights he gave on the local To-Do's, paths to takes and places to see. It made the whole experience easier to navigate, and I always felt incredibly safe at the hotel. Moreover, the breakfast was wonderful and the staff were incredibly sweet! My hut was the perfect blend of luxury and rustic island living - and for SUCH a good price. I'll definitely go back someday soon!

• Dora (8/5): - Realna ocjena apartmana je 3,5/5. Lokacija je bila dobra, ali važno je znati da je lijeva strana otoka znatno ljepša – s manje trave i više pravih plaža. Na desnoj strani, gdje se apartman nalazi, ima dosta trave i nema klasičnih plaža. Doručak je odličan, ali preporučio bih da se izbaci pekmez i ponudi više sira – jer je sir stvarno vrhunski. Kava zaslužuje čistu desetku! Također, ručnici su se redovito mijenjali i što se toga tiče sve je bilo u redu. Najveća pohvala ide osoblju, posebno djevojkama na recepciji. Svako jutro su nas dočekivale sa širokim osmijehom i toplom dobrodošlicom. Sabrina i ostale djevojke su prekrasne – unijele su radost i pozitivnu energiju u cijeli boravak. Želim im svu sreću i ljubav u životu jer su mi uljepšale ovo putovanje. Negativna strana su insekti u sobi – tijekom boravka smo naišli na mrave, žohare, guštere i pauka. Osoblje bi svakako trebalo poraditi na rješavanju tog problema. Uz to, odvod u WC-u loše radi i voda ne otječe kako treba, a usto se osjeti i neugodan miris, što dodatno narušava dojam.

• FRANCESCO (10/5): Perfect value for money stay in Zanzibar! - We spent 7 nights at Zanzigo hotel as we cannot recommend it more! If you’re looking for a well located, cheap, quiet, safe and green place to stay in Zanzibar this is your place. All the bungalows are very spacious with private bathroom and a small patio either chairs and table to smoke or simply to enjoy some piece and quiet! The breakfast is fresh and homemade and includes fruits, eggs, potatoes, toasts and jams which are delicious! But probably the best part of this place is the manager Mounir, he helped us booking all the activities including a visit to a local school! He’s very friendly, patient and always on top of his duties, really polite and lovey man! Very much recommended for your stay in Zanzibar! xx If I have to mention something it would probably be about the lack of shampoo, soaps ect in the bedroom but rather than that nothing. Everything was great!

• Mustar (7/5): Sweet hideaway. - Mouir the manager has been extremely helpful, especially on arrival when I needed assistance with exchange of money etc. Property is close to the beach and the rooms are good size and cute. I stayed here during low season and we have experienced a lot of electricity power cuts (as a street not just Zanzigo), perhaps to be more prepared with power chargers or candles.
• Ronda (8/5): Nice place in Nungwi with comfy beds and great shower! - Air conditioning, great shower, very nice rooms, comfortable beds, has wifi (but kinda spotty). Manager is responsive. About 10 min walk to nearest beach, shops and restaurants very close. The garden is overgrown so lots of mosquitoes, difficult to access some rooms.

• Małgorzata (7/5): Dobry stosunek jakości do ceny - Hotel jest położony ok. 10 min spacerem od plaży. Otoczenie ogrodu daje przyjemny klimat, który izoluje nas od drogi. Jest cicho i zielono. Pokoje skromnie urządzone, ale wygodne, w stylu afrykańskim. Personel miły i uczynny, menedżer chętnie służy radą i pomocą. Śniadania niezbyt obfite, ale smaczne i przyrządzone na świeżo. Zazwyczaj śniadanie składa się z omletu lub jajecznicy, tostów z dżemem i owoców na deser plus kawa/herbata. Dobry stosunek jakości do ceny. Wybierając Zanzigo trzeba mieć na uwadze, że w Nungwi są częste braki w dostawie prądu. Kiedy nie ma prądu, nie działa klimatyzacja i nie ma wody (pompy są zasilane prądem). Niestety Hotel nie posiada własnego generatora a okna nie da się otworzyć ze względu na wlatujące do pokoju komary. Nie ma moskitier. Spędziliśmy w Zanzigo 9 nocy z czego przez 2 nie było prądu - Dwie bezsenne noce.

Good breakfast and nice personal. I only had one problem as I wished to extend my stay and there was a lack of communication with the owner.

Petit déjeuner moyen.
• Amal (7/5): - Beautifuly designed hotel and very spacious and rooms. friendly and helpful staff and the place is in a good location and walking distance to the beach. Breakfast was very good too. Unfortunately, during our stay, we had multiple power outages every day, and this affected our aircon, wifi connection, and water supply.

Also the host Mounir was amazing and helped us with everything, and to get the best prices for trips. The breakfast was also really good. • Alessia (8/5): Bello! - Mounir è un host eccezionale, sempre gentile e disponibile per ogni tipo di consiglio o richiesta. Il bungalow è piccolo ma accogliente, perfetto per un ospite. In due sarebbe stato davvero troppo piccolo. A colazione ho chiesto acqua e non ne avevano.
• Sonia (8/5): - Lo staff super gentile! Guest house vicina al faro, lontana dal centro e dai rumori delle feste. La spiaggia più vicina è influenzata dalle maree, ma basta camminare 10 minuti che si è dal lato dove vi è sempre il mare alto. .

• Katharina (8/5): Familiäres Hotel mit schöner Ausstattung - Der Besitzer ist sehr nett, hat uns Tipps gegeben und wir konnten ihn immer alles fragen. Da das Hotel nur ein paar Zimmer hat, ist es sehr familiär. Zimmer war top, außer dass das Wasser manchmal nicht geht, was hier aber normal ist. Vor allem die Beleuchtung im Zimmer ist wunderschön und man hat viel Platz. Das Hotel liegt nicht direkt am Meer, man muss ca. 20 Minuten gehen, bis man zu einem schöneren Strandabschnitt gelangt. Das Frühstück ist immer gleich und nicht besonders gut (außer frisches Obst!) in der Unterkunft gibt es kein Wasser zu kaufen.

• Takuya (1/5): WiFi is terrible and the owner is dishonest. - ネット環境が悪いのとスタッフが誠実ではないです🙅‍♂️ There is a big problem with WiFi. I don’t recommend digital nomad workers stay there. Blackout is happened everyday. I couldn’t join some online meeting so I asked to owner how I buy a strong SIM card for using as a hot spot. He said “No problem. I’ll buy it and handle it.” so I waited for it but he didn’t action anything until I left there finally. I stayed there 8 nights but this problem was not fixed so I had to patient.

Sois-disant c'est normal, c'est à cause de l'humidité - Au petit déjeuner, le sucrier était rempli de fourmis et on se faisait agacer par un singe

I initially went into the Maasai hut, but due to electricity cuts I was allowed stay a night in the larger room. Also sleeping in the Maasai hut was a cool and interesting experience. I enjoyed my stay at the site! I initially didnt know I would stay in the Maasai hut, this could be specified for explicitly on the booking.com page. It was a cool experience though, I just wish I had known or it didnt become so evident to me during the booking.
• Nishanth (1/5): - I'd booked and paid for my room at Zanzigo before my stay, but when I arrived for my stay there was no such room available. I could accept this - things like this do happen. I declined the offer of another type of room and instead I chose to find accommodation elsewhere after the staff assured me that I'd get a full refund. However, Zanzigo never did refund me despite me trying to get in touch with them on multiple occasions and then also going through the complaints process via booking.com. I've never had this experience with any holiday accommodation before. I would not usually write unfavourable reviews. I do write favourable reviews where I think they are deserved - I left a favourable review for the Mizingani Seafront Hotel on this website.

These invaluable ti - I truly appreciated the location, nestled in the eastern part of Nungwi, offering a peaceful and serene atmosphere. The room was beautifully designed, featuring large windows that flooded the space with natural light, and it was thoughtfully equipped to ensure comfort. From time to time, there are water and electricity outages, but unfortunately, that’s just part of the reality in the entire area—nothing major to worry about.

• Belinda (9/5): Bonito, limpio, tranquilo y personal de 10 - Buen desayuno, muy bien ubicado, buena zona para descansar. Mohamed es muy simpático dispuesto a ayudarte en lo que necesites. Hay pocas habitaciones y eso lo hace un lugar con encanto rodeado de vegetación.
