Guest Reviews
- Keith (9/5): Decent budget option a pleasant walk from the centre of Ely - Easy to collect the keys, it was not too far to have a nice walk into town, the room is spacious, there's a microwave and a fridge, a separate bathroom, it was easy to park outside. The emailed instructions were clear. I have no major complaints, it's a cheap conversion but that sort of thing doesn't bother me. More kitchen utensils might have been nice, but I was able to do fine with what was there, the shower's a bit leaky and the door doesn't shut properly on it, but again I was able to just about able to stop too much water escaping out onto the bathroom floor. The bed was comfortable enough, but has a plastic sheet underneath, which is no bother in and of itself, but the fitted sheet kept coming off, so I'd have to fit it back again every time. The lock on the front door was difficult to get to work. Unlocking it was OK, but locking it was a challenge.
Overall though, I was happy enough.
- Doris (8/5): Nice and quiet place, bedroom, kitchenette and bathroom was all I needed. - Quiet location. Not far from city centre. Friendly host employee.
WiFi, TV. Cake at arrival and departure and a friendly note. Very long steep staircase.
No toaster. Only small bin.
Could initially not work the entrance door, but friendly helper explained.
- Claudia (5/5): work experience - location The studio does not have a cooker, only a microwave. So if you are travelling for work and need to cook there, this is not possible — and I wasn’t expecting that.
Also, the towels provided were still wet when I arrived, so I had to buy new ones.
- Robert (1/5): Did not stay in the room - The property was close to where I needed to stay After finding the property and going into the room I see the room had not been cleaned and was thick with dust and being asthmatic I couldn’t stay there as still waiting on refund after contacting the owners said thay will refund straight away
- Dawnsprinter (1/5): - No key number came through at 4 when at property no contact number either same at 6 could not get in soo returned to car park at venue and changed in car park guests arriving at 7 gave up idea of Staying overnight went home arrived 11.30

- Narelle (8/5): It servedmy purpose is very well and was walking distance to the main street. I - Not included I did not receive any instructions about collecting the key and on arrival. No one answered the door. Eventually a tenant helped me, and somehow got the keys. But it was an hour waiting outside from when I arrived when I got in.
- Simon (5/5): A handy location for the city centre, overall my stay was okay and it is such a beautiful city. - The WiFi was very good and I appreciated the TV. The hosts were very helpful texting me in advance about access, parking and WiFi. A toaster would have been appreciated. I noticed that previous visitors have already commented on a couple of issues.
- Paul (8/5): Ely was fantastic - Nice place No internet plus was giving wrong code for key
- Gordon (6/5): Ok - Quiet. Easy walking town. Good local shop Shower was poor and did not drain away.
- Linda (1/5): Never had such a horrible stay anywhere - Location was ok but no facilities whatsoever no Vance of being able to cook there was a microwave and a kettle nothing else not even a toaster, bare minimum plates cups and cutlery, hot tub empty and filthy could not wait to leave Everything
- Nicholas (7/5): Good - Very close to town and easy parking and access Needs a good bit of updating
- Deborah (2/5): Avoid unless nothing else available . - Studio was reasonable size. It was dirty. Wet towels on bed on arrival which had seen better days and were stained. No hot water except in shower. Front door didn't lock.
Sink plug hole very grim, pedestal not cleaned bath mats obviously not bern washed. Cobwebs in bedside lamp. Bed plastic made it unsuitable to sleep on. Slept on top of quilt.
- Sharni (6/5): Pleasant -
- Tracy (5/5): Needs a spring clean - Good TV, microwave, fridge and portable fan. Bed was comfortable Shower was grubby- needs a good clean. Room has loads of cobwebs and no hot water except from the shower.
- Margaret (5/5): It was adequate and fulfilled our need to be in Ely - The location The quality
- Steve (8/5): Very good -
- Mike (7/5): Good - Very easy access, comfortable bed, space to park. I would suggest that the shower head is descaled or replaced as doesn’t flow as expected unfortunately.
- Wayne (1/5): Always Read The Reviews. ALWAYS - Nothing. You know you've messed up when you drive onto a dodgy estate. The moment you walk in you realise you've messed up. Place needs a good clean and paint. DiY needs finishing. Floor bar to bathroom loose and trip hazard. Bed has plastic sheet on and impossible to sleep. Lack of pillows. Toilet brush is just gross and filthy. How the hell this is on booking.com I don't know. We even tried to get into another hotel within 5 mins of entering. Boasts a hot tub. But small print book 3 days in advance.. its 6.20am been in the road 1 hr heading home to our bed. Says it all
- David (1/5): Avoid, avoid, avoid. - Nothing Just not an acceptable standard of accommodation. Should be taken off booking.com site
- Manley (1/5): Bad - Nothing Shabby outside and room. Cobwebs hanging. Very thin pillows and towels. Mattress covered in thick plastic which would be impossible to sleep on. We didn't stay and left straight away.
- Malcolm (1/5): Will not stay there again. - Location was in the middle of social housing estate with very poor parking; room was not clean, bathroom in particular was dirty; didn't feel safe in the property; wasn't met by landlord.
- Peter (10/5): Comfortable and convenient. - A very good location when visiting Ely. Easy walk to centre and a nice environment. The room was comfortable with all you need. The kitchen was areal bonus. Would recommend this property. There was aslight issue with the toilet but this will have been fixed. I rang to tell the owner and they appreciated the call.

- Maryjo (7/5): Good - Good to have a microwave and fridge, could do with a toaster!Good t.v. Window needs fixing, could be cold in the winter. Some drinking glasses would be good.
- Rowena (1/5): Worst accommodation I have ever stayed in. - Was the worst accommodation I have ever stayed in. Electrics were a fire hazard. Not as advertised. Very disappointed and poor value for money. Everything!
- Harry (10/5): We enjoyed a brilliant stay - The room is spacious and very clean everywhere. The bedding and towels were very clean and the bed was very comfy. The bathroom and toilet was also exceptionally clean. The property is very close to town about 7 minutes walk into the city centre. We enjoyed using the hot tub, my partner liked it the most. There was tea and coffee and milk was in the fridge for us. We checked in after checking in times, we phoned to say that we will be checking in late and the host, Percy, said that they were flexible as long as there is communication and when we arrived he handed us the keys. We enjoyed our stay There were no dislikes at all.
- Margaret (8/5): Very good -
- George (1/5): we did not stay - we did not stay as when we arrived the property was not clean, the shower had not been cleaned there was scum on the shower doors bath mats were stained and towel rail was rusted. the mattress was very stained one window was falling out
so we requested a refund from the host and left, we re booked through booking.com to Ely guest house Nothing it was awful
